As a socialist and lover and defender of mariihuana, I demand you either get out of the marihuana business or stop misusing the term 'socialist'.

Nazis where/are Socialists... Interventionism allways ends up in Communism oder National-Socialism. When a system claims control over more and more parts of our daily live, and if it's merely for "protecting the people of themselves" (which they in fact never can manage. Cause it allways end up in a very selective kind of moral reasoning > if you restrict Marihuana, you have to restrict alkohol, sugar...fat), it is just a matter of time, until their is immediate need for a totalitarian dictator, that centralizes every power in his hands. In fact this is then only the beginning of the end! That was it, what the socialist-plague in the middle of the century told us. If someone is a socialist, ok, i have no problem with this. As long as he keeps his dick of my face an not telling me what to do. He can make his things in private, but kindly put his hands out of my f.... wallet! Smiley
Nazis where not socialist per definition:

Really? > http://www.worldcrunch.com/opinion-analysis/europe-039-s-extreme-right-and-left-united-in-support-of-putin/russia-extremism-nationalism-ukraine-conflict/c7s15880/

How does Socialism differ exactly from National-Socialism? Even the Nationalism is it, that marks both. And not to forget Communism, that is even as totalitarian.
Just educate your self. It is not my fault, that you didn't pay attention in school.
The word "socialism" doesn't even occur in the link you posted.

684  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: HODL, HOARD your cypto GOLD! All Hail the Hoarders! on: February 08, 2015, 01:36:20 PM
So if you want bitcoin to succeed! just hold your bitcoins! dont spend them around! you may feel sad and bad if the 200$  you spent could be worth 1000$ tomorrow and that you threw them away cheaply!

No, no, NO! As a strong bullish long-term Bitcoin believer, I completely disagree  Angry

Even if you consider your bitcoins as long term investment, rather than spending money - what do you think will help raising the value of your precious bitcoins more:

  • 1. Hodling your bitcoins and spending USD, thus only stimulating the USD economy

    or

  • 2. Spending your bitcoins, thus stimulating the BTC economy, and immediately buying back new bitcoins (on exchange or circle or whatever), thus increasing demand for Bitcoin on the market.

Notice that the end result is the same: you essentially purchased some stuff, lost some USD, and kept your BTC. But with option nr. 2, you're actively helping to raise the Bitcoin price level on two ends: Bitcoin economy AND market demand. I really don't understand why even the most fanatic Bitcoin owners don't seem to get this Undecided

Especially if you're a Bitcoin fan, believer, enthusiast, investor, or hodler, SPEND THEM! (And immediately refill your stash of bitcoins by buying new ones with fiat)

By just sitting on your coins, instead of using them, Bitcoin won't grow! Spend them, and buy back at the same time.

I got to be rich to do that..buy an xbox with usd for 300$ or else buy with btc for 600$(to buy equal btc again)
I guess you are really bad at math. So, I give you an example.
Let's assume you bought 10 BTC for USD 1000 each last year.

Now, you want to buy an Xbox.
Scenario 1:
You buy it with fiat.
You spend 300 USD.
(-10.000)+(-300)=-10.300 [USD]
10 = 10 BTC

Scenario 2:
You buy with BTC and replenish. Assume 1 BTC=300 USD
(-10.000)+(-300)=-10.300 [USD]
10-1+1=10 BTC

Have you lost any money in Scenario 2? No
But you have stimulated BTC-economy.
Have you put selling pressure on the BTC-market? No. The merchant has sold 1 BTC, but you have bought 1 BTC, which nullifies:
(-1)+1=0

688  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Is Bitcoin cash? on: February 07, 2015, 10:52:38 AM
No citation needed. Cash = totally anonymous. Bitcoin uses a public ledger, the blockchain, Monero doesnt.

Is anonymity required for something to be cash? That's the citation I'm talking about.
I dont know, but everyone and their mother think of anonymous exchange when they think of cash, thats what matters not some official book meaning.
I am pretty sure, my mother wouldn't think of anonymous exchange, when she thinks of cash.  Not everybody is paranoid Wink

690  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How long until we have time-locked/geo-restricted etc transactions? on: February 06, 2015, 02:32:09 PM
I think some clone has implemented geo faucets & like...so even geo restricted transactions should be easy. But is there a market need for such features ?
I think, it is about security. So people can't use your wallet in another country, as where you live. That is why ATM cards from the EU are blocked in underdeveloped countries like the USA, because they have bad security there.
But like I said, I don't think, it is easy to determine a location for certain.
691  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Ross Ulbricht Guilty of Everything on: February 06, 2015, 02:27:35 PM
I am not finished reading this thread, but I already have one thing to say:
Everybody, who says he deserves it, because he attempted murder is a FUCKING IDIOT.
Attempted murder was not an accusation in this trial, it has no value whatsoever in this trial.

It might not have been relevant in this trial but it is relevant to his character, so they can think he deserved prison time based on that.

It was relevant in this trial. The "hits" were part of silk road business when he wasn't running the site according to him.
You booth are retards.
It is not part of his prison time, since there is another trial for that, which will add to his prison time.
It doesn't matter, if it was "part of the silk road business", because he isn't accused for "silk road business", he is accused for pretty specific cases(drug selling and money laundering)
His character doesn't matter for the question, if he is guilty. It could be taken in account for his prison time.
Seriously. We are talking here about pretty basic rule of law stuff.

Excellent residing in Austria will be more enjoyable now. Back in Wien half a year ago I could only find a few Bitcoin ATMs.
A few?
I just know of 2 BTC ATMs. One in Vienna, one in Graz Wink
693  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: You can buy Bitcoin in Austria at nearly every corner on: February 06, 2015, 01:02:14 PM
Well..great news that more n more ppl r adopting BTC..the awareness will also increase now as merchants accept BTC..
That is a bigger problem in Austria. There are not much merchants, which accept Bitcoin. That's why a always was a little bit ashamed of Austrian economy, which is pretty slow on using new technologies.
694  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How long until we have time-locked/geo-restricted etc transactions? on: February 06, 2015, 11:56:50 AM
I hear people speaking about the potential of Bitcoin - for example, being able to carry out transactions that are in some way geo-restricted or time-locked so that the recipient will only receive his/her money when an oracle checks some form of online record (eg. showing someone has died or reached a certain age).

But it's not clear to me how long it might actually take for us to implement these things in the real world. As far as I can make out, these things are all possible in theory - but is it possible to implement them yet? Or are we going to have to wait for years until this sort of functionality is available?

I'm asking this question partly to assess whether or not it's worth developing a business on the assumption that this sort of functionality is, or will be imminently, available - or whether it's simply far too far off in the future to even consider at this point in time.
Time locked is pretty simple and you can already do it: https://en.bitcoin.it/wiki/NLockTime

All this talking about oracles deciding stuff, I am not so sure about that, since it is really hard to find a reliable oracle

Thanks for the link re time lock. My instinct is that whilst oracles (reading the register of births, deaths etc) might be more complicated, restricting transactions according to GPS co-ordinates should be much simpler given the existing technology around mobile/location. But maybe that's an unfair assumption?
I don't think, it is that easy to make really reliable. The NLockTime is on the blockchain, as far as I understand it. It can not be executed as long as block N is reached.
GPS is a whole other issue. You can't put it on the blockchain. You can make a multisig, where on signature is given by a server that checks your location. But what does checkong your location really mean? If your smartphone sends your location, based on their GPS, I am pretty sure, that can be manipulated really easy.

http://cointelegraph.com/news/113424/austria-gets-600-merchants-selling-bitcoin-overnight

Finally, something happened in Austria, I can be proud of.
Do give some background. Trafiken are the only shop, where you can buy tobacco ware(of course there are also vending machines for that) and lottery scratch ticket. There are some really fucked up laws about that in Austria. So, in Austria there is always a Trafik near you, so you can feed your lung cancer, now that also goes for Bitcoin.

Whether the hard fork happens is not going to be determined by one man's ego. If he wants to present his arguments for not doing the hard fork in a diplomatic manner, they will be taken into account, and debated, but there is no debate as long as one man looks down on others, and feels no need to restrain himself and speak to them respectfully.

Absolutely agreed.

Since you content farm lot are all busy copy/pasting the same stuff over and over to each other instead of paying attention.

What does he expect, we're going to cancel the hard fork because he slanders some people with eloquent and expressive prose? Because he declares he can single handedly sabotage the process due to his importance and influence?

I recently talked to some Bitcoin-Users in real life. None of them doubted, that the hard fork will come, none of them had any fear, that something would go wrong(and some of them understood the technology much better than me)
Being active on this forum often clouds your vision from what is going on in the real BTC-World.
That's why I try to stay away from such thread. I think, I already read all the pro and cons on that matter. The rest is just accusation of who is  an idiot or a shill. It reminds me about elementary school.
