701  Economy / Lending / Re: Looking for a 2BTC loan on: March 31, 2012, 02:37:33 PM
Looks like this guy (OP) needs something to help prove his case. I think he's still trying to get to grips with the forums here but there needs to be something that potential lenders can use before lending to OP. As to the OP selling stuff,he did post the items for sale here: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=73876.0

It hasn't worked out for him so far in terms of selling anything.

I'm keeping a keen eye on this thread to see how a new guy can handle a loan on here.

703  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Idea: A fund for an alternative Bitcoin development team. on: March 26, 2012, 04:32:44 PM
If I was part of an alternative development team,I can contribute design ideas and help with the layout and user interface plus make it more user friendly as well assuming I can get the job. Do development teams focus on desgn more or is it coding,or both?

I liked the teardown on this card.
706  Other / CPU/GPU Bitcoin mining hardware / Re: Any ideas for a portable mining rig on: March 25, 2012, 03:53:11 PM
Here EU pricing for a Radeon Hd6990 : http://www.amazon.fr/Asus-Graphique-Radeon-HD6990-EAH6990/dp/B004RBWLZK/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1332690100&sr=8-1

I know it's amazon and that it's from France but if you shop around in the EU you can get some pretty good pricing (depends on where you live).

I hope this helps you for which GPU can fit into a rather tight SFF case. Do consider the noise and heat issues as well though. You should make sure to use good fans in that case. I don't care what uses a PC is used for. I prefer to help everyone as this helps me learn more about other approaches to BTC mining rigs (as I'll be researching different types of rigs and which approach fits best for people).

So what if OP wants to use workplace electricity as well as his own? That's his responsibility. If he gets fired so be it. I'd personally recommend that you (OP) reconsider your plan on using that mining rig at work (even for the free utilities there) because the noise of that mining rig can be rather loud and annoy other people in your workplace as well.

Having a powerful GPU will also mean looking for a beefy PSU.This will be harder to find for SFF cases that it would for a regular desktop case. So consider that as well.Finding smaller parts to fit will not be easy at all OP.

Ethics aside for utility use,it is ultimately your responsibility OP to make these decisions for yourself, even if they seem (or probably are) stupid/wrong.
707  Other / CPU/GPU Bitcoin mining hardware / Re: GTX 680 Perf Estimations on: March 25, 2012, 03:28:33 PM
Dual GPU Single slot?  Sounds like a horrible idea.

How's that a bad idea? I can recall people wanting a HD6990 (when they were at the top) badly so the Dual Gpu card (within a single gfx board.I meant single gfx board not single slot sorry as that would be impossible)
708  Other / CPU/GPU Bitcoin mining hardware / Re: Just unlocked my 6950's shaders! on: March 25, 2012, 03:26:49 PM
Wow.you can still unlock the shaders o a newer HD6950? That's good to know. I myself unlocked an HD6950 which was purchased last June (end of really). I got an extra 30MHash/s overnight and that was a lowish clock as well (840MHz core clock),then I really cracnked up the OC'ing and now I have a card that does ~402MHash/s. Smiley
709  Other / CPU/GPU Bitcoin mining hardware / Re: GTX 680 Perf Estimations on: March 25, 2012, 03:22:25 PM
I think Nvidia are starting to get serious about improving hash power. I'd still prefer dual GPU single slot cards as they take up less space in my case (yes,I know about the high power use and heat).

When will Nvidia release a dual GPU single slot card so I can see the hash power of it?
710  Economy / Gambling / Re: BTC lottery (Dream Islands) on: March 24, 2012, 08:56:48 PM
There is still time to enter so please join in if you can.

Did a new round start?  I thought the last lottery ended on March 19th?

I apologise for the confusion guys. The lottery that originally started from the 5th March was meant to end on 19/3/2012.Since I failed to update the info on the site about the change of deadline. As a gesture of good will,I've extended the deadline until all entries are recieved. From now on,rounds will be annouced on here and not on the site, that way there can be no confusion about the rounds.Since the round was extended, the BTC to enter will stay the same until a new round starts. All entries recieved so far will still count (so no need to re-enter). Good luck for everyone in the lottery guys. Smiley

This is still round 1 guys.I like to give a chance for everyone to enter so that it's a fair game for all (even if it means extending the current round) :-)

I hope this clears things up. In future I'll try to be more forthcoming of any changes (proposed or otherwise) and be more careful not to cause confusion.
Have a good day (and night) guys Smiley

716  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: [gauging interest] Selling pre-made Dropbox account for Bitcoin on: March 24, 2012, 01:07:05 AM
Nice idea for an (almost) fully anonymous service that lets you enjoy the benefits of Dropbox. This is what Bitcoin needs, more innovative services to take advantage of the great idea of BTC.Keep up the good work gorgo1.I'd be interested in seeing how this goes and who knows, I may consider buying one of these later on Smiley

717  Bitcoin / Mining support / Need info about Catalyst 12.2 and effect on mining performance on: March 22, 2012, 09:32:00 PM
Hi guys,
I wanted to switch on the AMD video converter feature by installing the media pack, but when I tried to install it asked me to update my drivers (as I'm ok with 11.7 atm in terms of mining performance and also it won't let me just install the feature while leaving my drivers alone).

Question is does catalyst 12.2 improve or degrade mining performance?

Your feedback will be very helpful to me.

719  Economy / Services / Re: I do Graphic Design [for BTC!] on: March 19, 2012, 09:24:40 PM
Gbr, is this poster or any of your other work available online? Do you have a thread started?

Weex, thanks for your interest. I will PM you right now.

I haven't started my own thread yet, since I currently have a lot of work. I might refurbish my portfolio and advertise my services more actively if I have spare time after I'm done with my current projects in a couple of months or so.

However, I am available for enquiries, I just don't need to sell my services proactively at the moment. I did a couple of design jobs for the Bitcoin community during past couple of weeks. I'm really interested in Bitcoin and I hope that freelance work for BTC here could be a good investment. I specialize in graphic/web/identity design and email marketing. So, if anyone is interested and would like to see examples of my work and get quotes, please PM me.
Hey gbr, can you get in touch with me asap please? I've paid your full rate of 21.25BTC.I would like my files thanks.
