Am I the only one who still thinks PlanB's model is not only a still not invalidated, but indeed the longer we go below the line this cycle the more likely we spring up even higher to compensate during the current epoch?  (Not saying we Will... But if we do...)

I think many folks latched onto his somewhat conservative 100k by 12\21 prediction and when that didnt come true they declared his whole theory invalid.

But it isn't.  Yet.

I don't even really subscribe to the model, and think it nearly certainly is invalidated in time.

But it simply is not yet.  If we rocket deep into 6 figures I wonder if people will admit they were wrong as quickly as they jumped to accuse him of that.

We may get to see!    Smiley

Good catch..the're lots of super opinionated people around here.

So his reason to say negative things to me on is because I have been posting Bearish things earlier.
Doesn't that shows my stand on something which I believe is going to happen?

People don't even understand the word "Opinion".
The discrimination is surreal and affects my mental health.

This place is not OPEN for discussion, this place is just another thread where they want to hear only HOPIUM news for BTC.
Sick.
I believe you are partially correct.  You have posted a wide range of things. Some very bearish. Any models predicting a low UNDER the last cycle top will be pushed back on.

But you're right. This place is full of irrational bulls.  I may be the worst.

You are being picked on a lot. Sometimes for valid reasons. Sometimes not. But I think overall a little much.

After a while,

@Elon. BTC doesn't give you f**k anymore.

I am currently in a yurt in the Appalachian mountains.

True story.

This shit is all my fault.

Mastadonic in the wrong direction.

Goddamnit.
I appreciate you taking the fall for us...

Now come up with another prehistoric or fantasy animal that makes us go the OTHER way please.

Hello guys. I don't know if it has already been mentioned, but I think it's interesting, for people who store paper/hard wallets in bank vaults :

Anyone who thought this was a good idea hasn't been paying attention.

As long as you use a really strong BIP39 passphrase and keep a backup on the seed GPG encrypted on an archival CD or a couple USB drives or the like... Maybe not the worst ever.

But yeah...  Safe deposit boxes have always had a downside, and I think that downside is going to get more evident over time soon.

I am a person that will allow a wide range of opinions and strives to respect each one, even the ones I disagree with.

But the idea below reveals a COMPLETE misunderstanding as to what problem Bitcoin fundamentally solved.  POS recreates a digital version of the current system that will be even worse.

Also, this idea is usually driven by the mistaken concept that using energy is inherently bad.  This is a fundamental misunderstanding of what human flourishing looks like.

And finally it fails to realize that the existence of Proof of Work will drive us into green energy and less waste and will fund the ability to build renewable energy in areas it was not economically feasible before POW.  It will absolutely revolutionize the energy sector if it is allowed to grow organically.  This last point is, perhaps, the hardest to see, but luckily there are people beginning to see it in government and the energy sector.  Texas is aiming in the right direction here, amazingly.  Although I am worried that eventually it will fall into this same hole of foolishness.

Personally I'm in favor of BTC moving to POS or something else to reduce its energy use. Maybe something like masternodes where you would need 1 BTC by masternode, a bit like ETH 2.0

A lot of thought needs to go into it of course, the security of the protocol must be preserved.

And the transition would be over something like 5 years so that miners can recoup their investment.

I'm well aware of the difficulty in getting consensus so that BTC can evolve, and this is only my opinion, I have no coding skills to contribute, I have stopped maths long ago after an overdose of it in university...

How we get there, I don't know, but it would be a good outcome. I could imagine small coiners joining up to invest in a node, so that even poor countries can participate. And that would leave one less reason for government crackdowns, of course.

Are we gonna break $69,420 USD/BTC, or nuke ourselves to death first?

Most of us won't get nuked to death but will rather die slowly after we run out of neighbors to eat, so at that point 1

hey i live near an air force base. nukes go flying i plan to sit out on the deck while burning down a fattie with pink floyd playing at max volume. cuz "surviving" nuclear war.. well its kinda a oxymoron..

I live three minutes from a major US downtown.  So I will do the same... though I might start it out with this one.  If I have time that is...

https://youtu.be/jkAyN7LKa8g

I guess this is it.
Time for what's been called the finale
And this one comes as no surprise
One of a kind, you'll never see this anywhere else, friends,
Sort of brings a tear to your eye
So be watching closely and you'll be impressed
An order is given and a button is pressed
Then a light that is blinding and a sound that is shrill
Don't blink or you'll miss it, it's the end of free will

So turn the radio up and pass the bottle round
And then we'll have one more dance before we all fall down
I'll wear my favorite tie, you can wear your wedding gown
And then we'll both look real sharp when we all fall down

Look at them now, drawing little lines with their speeches
Each daring the other to cross
It won't be long now, one will make a stand he believes in
Believing it's well worth the cost
Then the other gets angry refuses to budge
Fueled by some understandable grudge
And now we wait quietly till the missile arrives
There's no need to shout about the end of our lives

So bring your friends now, and we'll laugh at all the clowns
Who think there'll be a better world when we all fall down
And we can sing this song, we'll make a joyful sound
We'll be singing na na na when we all fall down

Buildings and bridges all leveled to the ground
Cities and nations and we just stand around
Someone unlocked the big cage
and the beast cannot be found
So strike up the music and we'll all fall down.

Ok, in the totally random-out-of-nowhere-negro-gypsy-premonition dept, I fear I may have been too bullish on a short term recovery.

I am suddenly filled with fear...

I like the tingling balls better...

Is that the 4hour chart?

Those are 6 hour candles.

Well then... we busted up.

6h

So seems to me the clear next resistance line that has seen action for over a full year is ~ 0.0054 ish.

710  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: [XMR] Monero Speculation on: March 12, 2022, 11:11:35 PM
Seems to me Monero's price action is often erratic and irrational.  I think there are two reasons for this:

1.  It is still a thinly traded market.  Even as one of the more used crypto projects it still is not traded like bitcoin, quite yet.  So whales and manipulators can yank it around more.

2.  "Paper Monero" is a thing.  Because of Monero's inscrutability it is easier for exchanges to play games.  We can see what Bitfinex holds in their Bitcoin wallets.  So we can see if they are allowing naked shorting.  This is NOT TRUE with monero where naked shorting may  be a nasty side effect of its killer feature.

That said...  Monero is clearly painting an intweresting chart, with an ascending broadening triangle.  This is usually a bearish pattern which will often break down.  But I have a feeling Monero is trying pretty hard right here to brek up again like it did a week or so ago...  Another "advantage" of the thinly traded market is the reliability of chart patterns it not really that good.  So we could see this predicted outcome be invalidated by an aggressive move up.  Sure seems like it wants to.

The Blue Plug wires will almost certainly help significantly! So in the spirit of evaluation, I would suggest changing those first and see how much difference it makes. Maybe even drive a few days before actually changing the plugs.

So What's going on anyway? Is it idling rough? Does it run better cold or does it smooth out after it warms up? Any misses or pings while accelerating?

Troubleshooting carbs and ignition.

A great groaning dinosaur yawn.

An art that will die with some of us.

(not quite a haiku?)
712  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: March 12, 2022, 04:28:26 AM
Several rumors flying around...
There are people of different sentiments and information.
Check this out:

Yeah.  those shorts are blazing... kinda crazy...

But I think it is win win for us bulls.  It's just one win is better than the other.

They get torched.  That amount of shorts covering will send us up fast.

Or they dampen a huge dump.  So if we get a huge dump, those guys are our friends.  Interesting.  If we do get that huge dump, someone had some advance info.

Interesting.

Several rumors flying around...

But the one that REALLY GOT ME:
714  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: March 11, 2022, 07:31:45 PM
Trendline support @ 38k and then 35k.

Way more action support from recent trading at 38... 35 kinda thin.

Without major bad news, I do not see how we don't find lows here... 30k BTC pulled off CB Pro.  So many fundamental things supporting buying right now.

Good morning dear friends!

Just remember that right when you think something is as dumb as humanly possible... someone... someone out there will be able to think of something even dumber!

Oh fuck what now with the red dildo's Goddamnit...

The Dorito of doom?

sabre dance...or Danse Macabre? I kid, i kid.

In other news: if a token wants to be Santa's little helper, is it still a 'shitcoin'?
For some slower pokes here (guess who)..Santa=Bitcoin in my analogy.

Witness Stacks (STX), developing smart contracts on BITCOIN.
Now, they got a $165 mil fund going.
https://www.coindesk.com/business/2022/03/10/okcoin-stacks-launch-165m-pledge-to-support-bitcoin-related-projects/

I smell money in this one, but will not press the subject much.

You know this is a weird one.  Why the shitcoin?  And over the years the things they claim to do with the tech keep changing but I do not think I have seen anything really do anything yet.  Seems like Liquid is similar without the token.  Or is it that LBTC masquerades as bitcoin better than STX?
718  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: March 10, 2022, 01:55:37 PM
Fuck CBDCs and the pumping of them... especially in this thread.

CBDCs should be treated like a shitcoin as far as this thread is concerned...

I think CBDCs are worse than the majority of shitcoins regarding fungibility, dystopian control by design, so what would be a proper name for this?

govcoin (Bad suggestion, people might confuse "gov" with something positive.)
1984coin (Not shitty enough, and confuse illiterate.)
pedocoin (Seems to be a common disorder among those in power truly benefiting from such coin.)

****coin

Help me fill out the "****" here, need a catchy one.

I propose panopticoin.

A good one.  Also I thought of slavecoin.

How many forum users contributed to this? At least one, as far as I can see..

A good argument.  Is your one forum member memorydealers?  *sigh*...  Oh Roger...

Great.. .I am glad that you are planning to know your enemy.. Hopefully, you do not lose sight of what is bitcoin in the process.

Exactly.  This will be a powerful enemy.  And even though they have exactly ZERO chance of stopping bitcoin, they actually DO have the power to harm people all the way to the point of death.  And even as hyperbolic as I can be... that is not an exaggeration.

Knowing their tactics, and preparing for them, as well as trying to see things from their perspective will be one of the ways I protect myself from their shenanigans.  And I hope some of my thoughts on that matter might help some of my brethren (and mythical sistren) here as well.

But I do tend to over-inflate my own importance in my own estimation from time to time.  Not as much as you, but we can't all be THAT good.  Roll Eyes
