721  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][Blocknet] The internet of blockchains / XBridge / true cross-chain P2P on: November 05, 2014, 04:16:30 PM

sdc whales/bagholders with the supported of their dev have created many campaigns against other altcoins, it's time the altcoins community attacking this sdc scam back. i heard sdc code base is copy of aero. this scam need to go.

Just to reiterate that the SDC dev team had nothing to do with the smear campaign.

They are good guys, whom I respect, and their tech is legit too.

The smear campaign was perpetrated by a group of SDC investors/trolls. Mr Boh, Longandshort, and their cronies.

Bump for response on Multipool as I've XC team in here posting since then.  Still not approved on XC forum to post there.

Once again posting here because main thread os locked AND XC Forum is manually filtering signups so I can't post there even though I've registered(see my aside below the reason for this post).

No payouts on Multipool for a week?

Concerning the forum I think a primary reason why traffic is so low there, especially now that the main thread is locked.  Most people that will go there are people looking to post a question or comment immediately.  They expect to register, but making them wait for manual approval will have a lot of people just saying "fuck it" and not bothering.  If you are going to lock the main thread then take the manual approvals off the forum so people can get in there and talk.  You already have control enough to manage what's posted no need to set roadblocks for people wanting to get involved there.

I've asked Dan about this.

I've also messaged Teka to ask him to approve you.

I'll get back to you on both of these. :-)

Thanks so much I appreciate it.

Comfirmed: you've just been registered on XCtalk.com

(So you know, the approval process is purely due to spam. Apparently, every time we've relaxed the settings, new user creation just goes nuts.)

Oh, and the XC multipool payout will be almost 1000 XC! Looks like the pool is nailing it.

Puuuuhhhh - So much Postings.

Any new facts?

Yup:

- the Poloniex sell wall has been taken down. Sell walls are still available on Bittrex and Bter.

- we'll be releasing details on the ITO refund procedure later today.

- we'll be releasing details on the multisig escrow service for the Blocknet funds later today.

Lastly, if you want the Blocknet to exist, buy BLOCK.

Oh dear. That is usually the death-knell of any project, when the team behind it start calling for people to "buy more and buy now!!!!!11!1"

We're above the minimum amount for the Blocknet to launch.

You should note that I did not request that anyone buy BLOCK (and neither did I use exclamation marks).

I pointed out that buying BLOCK for profit is not the only motivation to consider here. If the decision to buy or sell entails the existence or nonexistence of a project, this will be a major motivation for some people. It's worth discussing.

With that cleared up, let the discussion ensue...

Just to let you all know that we've pulled the sell wall from Poloniex.

BLOCK will be available from Bter and Bittrex until the close of the ITO, at which point the 48 hour optional refund period begins on Bittrex.

Thanks synechist
I just want to confirm if I don't want refund of my ito from bittrex I dont have to do anything right?
Just wait for 48hrs to finish

Yes sir.  And many of us need to stay strong, unless some big late purchases come in.....

Yup. Just keep your BLOCK and await the results of the ITO.

Once the results are in, we'll either refund everyone their money, or funds will be sent to a multisig escrow address and open trading will commence on all exchanges.

Details on refund methods and our multisig escrow service can be expected later today!

Lastly, if you want the Blocknet to exist, buy BLOCK.

Bittrex started with 850 BTC.  How much did Polo and BTER start with?

Bter started with 550 BTC.

A total of 650 BTC was sent to Polo and split between the BTC and NHZ pairings.

I'm unaware of precisely how many BTC worth of BLOCK was bought with NHZ, but if I'm not mistaken it was in the region of 34 BTC.

Not all the available BLOCK was placed on the BTC:BLOCK sell wall on Polo. I'm not mistaken 175 BTC was held in reserve. This puts the initial sell wall at 425 BTC.

728  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][Blocknet] The internet of blockchains / XBridge / true cross-chain P2P on: November 05, 2014, 02:49:52 PM
youngmike is a parasite.  Just wanted to get that out there.

Alright.

So the sell wall that was pulled from Polo was 312 BTC.  There's 527 BTC on Bter, and another 550 BTC on Trex.  That's a total of 1389 BTC of available BLOCK.

That means currently with the Coingateway coin exchange program, the NHZ for BLOCK exchange, and BTC gathered it's a total of 1,111 BTC of BlockNet sold.  Minimum needed for the project to go ahead is 850 BTC.

Anyone know how many BLOCK have been sold on Bittrex?
About 200 BTC, but I expect many ppl will sell into buy wall after this FUD madness (including me)

That was 9 days ago, lightyears away in crypto. I changed my mind, but in bad way. And furthermre, I invest just change what does not mean anything to me.

300 BTC worth of BLOCK has been sold on Bittrex.

The sell wall was at 850 BTC when the ITO started, and it is at 550 BTC now.

I just noticed. Why did you do that before the finish of the ITO?

Because:
- open trading is enabled on Poloniex
- BLOCK is still available on the other exchanges, so removing the sell wall on Polo does not make BLOCK unavailable, it just limits the amount of coins that are freely tradable.

Additional points to ponder:
- removing the sell wall will allow the market to stabilise before the end of the ITO.
- selling below the ITO price on Poloniex makes no sense, because if the ITO doesn't make its minimum amount then refunds will be given at the price BLOCK was bought at.

Good point about coins bought on CoinGateway being traded already. If you bought on CoinGateway and then sold your BLOCK, you won't be able to pay the BLOCK back to CoinGateway, in which case you wouldn't get a refund through them.

Important point: during Bittrex's 48hr buy wall period, no withdrawals or deposits of BLOCK will be possible. This prevents anyone who bought BLOCK on Bittrex losing out on the chance to sell. The Bittrex refund option is only offered to Bittrex customers.

Another important point: you should probably wait until the ITO is confirmed to have failed or succeeded before selling. Otherwise you'll sell below market price. If the ITO doesn't make its minimum then refunds will be at the price offered: 0.00025 BTC.

(Disclaimer: these are provisional remarks.)

This was the reason I brought up the question about refunds.  I still hold my BLOCK from the exchange and haven't sold any on Polo.  But those that have would be SOL.  What would happen to those participating coins that Coingateway holds that can't be returned because of this?  They hopefully wouldn't be put on the market to exchange for BTC because that could kill the coins.  Would the unclaimed coins be destroyed?

And what if you have a situation where someone that exchanged a participating coin for BLOCK on coingateway, instead of getting those coins back, goes to POLO and exchanges the BLOCK for BTC at the 25k buy wall?  There really is no way to control this.

And as a final note like you said, if it doesn't get funded, then all those that sold at a loss will take the loss.  Those that bought at the discounted prices will now actually make some off those purchases because they will be selling into a buy wall on POLO.  ALL OF THIS IS THEORETICALLY SPEAKING OF COURSE.

This is getting funded, but just wanted to cover the what ifs.

When it comes to refunds using any altcoins that aren't claimed on CoinGateway, we could just put up sell walls on exchanges.

This wouldn't crash the price of any alt. It would just offer refunds for the same price coins were sold at.

We'd break even (minus fees), and market cap would be restored to the altcoins.

Anyone who traded BLOCK in the interim and either profited or lost is responsible for their trading decisions. Sounds fair to me. It's a zero-sum game after all.

i know the team needs to be prepared but the rest should just think positiv .

Arlyn when will the xc thread be up again. guess you wanna restart with some news. Smiley

I think it is safe to reopen the BTC talk thread again. The fud storm is over.

We'll be doing this at some point. I'm also considering a separate thread just for announcements, so that they can all be on one easily accessible place instead of getting drowned out.

REFUNDS:

Thanks for asking questions about refunds folks.

There are a few ways in which we could issue them:

- Bittrex's 48hr buy wall will be in place for Bittrex customers.

- Following this, if the Blocknet does not achieve its minimum amount of funding, the remaining BLOCK on Bittrex will be refunded with BTC.

- All BLOCK bought on CoinGateway can then be refunded using their transaction history.

- Finally, the remaining BLOCK can be withdrawn to users' wallets. From there, it is easy to prove ownership of coins by signing a message:
      - A message containing the user's BTC address can be signed by the private key holding the user's BLOCK, and sent (over, say, email) to us.
      - The user then pays BLOCK to an address we provide
      - Upon receipt of the BLOCK we match the message with the address the BLOCK was sent from, and return BTC to the address in the message.

If the latter suggestion is too time-consuming or complicated, we could just put up a buy wall on Polo and Bter for 48 hours.

I think if there is going to be a refund (due to the minimum not being met), then it would have to be through a buy wall.  I bought my Block tokens through Coingateway (with XC) and had them in my wallet in a few minutes.  Since Poloniex is actively trading Block, then I could have sent by Coingateway Block tokens to Poloni and sold them there.  If you then refund based on Coingateway's transaction history, I would get my refunded XC even though I had already sold my Block on Poloniex.

Is that possible?  Or would Coingateway first verify that the original address that they sent the Block to still retained the initial amount before issuing a refund?

Yeah, that is going to be a mess if you have traded a lot of block already.

It is.  I haven't sold any, but you know there are Coingateway tokens that have been sold on Poloniex so issuing a refund without verifying ownership of Block can't happen.  I think Bittrex is taken care of.  From what I understand trading will be frozen during the 48 hour refund window so people won't be able to deposit or withdraw.  Is it the same with Bter?  I think it is (i.e., deposit and withdraw are frozen).

Poloniex is the only sticky point and really messed up by allowing trading.  IMO.

We got any details on the escrow yet? Need to get that sorted before the bittrex refund I'd say.

Morning G-Bert!

Yes it is our number one priority right now, and getting it sorted before the end of the ITO is the goal.

I'm awaiting details. As far as I know the arrangement is largely in place.

I have three questions I still have not seen answered.

Who is holding the escrow & who are the auditors?  They were mentioned in the ANN but no specifications on who they will be still.  Where is the money going when it leaves the exchange?  Who is the auditor who will approve expenses?

Who are the developers besides Dan?  How can this not take away from XC if it's a nine month project - that's a huge undertaking.

We'll be releasing details about the escrow arrangement very soon. Things are progressing and we are close to be able to announce the details.

Development will be sourced and paid for by the ITO funds. Dan will have some degree of involvement in dev work (especially the XBridge because it partially uses the Xnode protocol), but it's not his workload. That's what the funds are for.

740  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][Blocknet] The internet of blockchains / XBridge / true cross-chain P2P on: November 03, 2014, 02:33:07 PM
I personally would rather not join forces with SDC. Their community is very toxic and there is a reason it is and it's because their devs are either as bad as the community is or they are simply muppets.

Either way, merging with them is VERY -ev for XC overall.

Yes I think you're right that this could be a risk.

On the other hand I respect Ryno and other members of the SDC team, and I've enjoyed talking with them.
