721  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: How Technology is Changing Sports Betting on: August 13, 2023, 08:40:23 PM
While there could be a big change for betting in sports through AI. I just want to go with the traditional one which I prefer since I'm used to it. Maybe sooner or later the changes through AI in all of its forms including gambling will also be adopted eventually. But I just can't feel it right now because I'm all for the typical setup that we're having. Maybe, just like in chatbox where there's an AI and you want to cast a bet and that's it. It will be recorded automatically and you'll be able to cast bets with simple types of words. That's how it is going to change but then, as long as there's not that much demand on it and there's more with the former, that doesn't hurt the people like me that still prefers the older system.

It is very unlikely a new AI powered system would be implemented and adopted to the point of replacing what we consider to be the "classic one". It would take casinos and betting providers to come up with new forms of engaging on their markets which have never been seen before, basically an overhaul of the concept of betting.

I personally think the role of Artificial intelligence within Sport betting will stay only as a personal assistant for people setting bets and also as a tool to try to predict outcomes or the percentage of chance of an specific outcome, by analyzing much data in real time. Though, I think we are still very far from reaching that point and I doubt of the grade of accuracy those tools will have to predict stuff going on in the real world, like a football match or a political election.

As it stands AI has become more a curiosity used to generate suggestive art for free on the internet.

It is of course worth thinking about what could change in the near future. Or maybe it will still take some time until we as the users of the platforms experience some fundamental changes as to how we gamble or what the screen could be looking like, but most of the technological innovation could also happen on the providers' end without sharing the new insights and technologies with the users. For instance, if they found a way to analyze data sets better than the average bettor and they also understand how to use AI to their own benefit, I think that the industry would for as long as they can keep those secrets to themselves and exploit the advantage over the user for themselves.

These casinos are all about profitability and when an industry is profitable, it is quite normal that they also become lethargic in regards to innovation. So far I haven't seen that casinos in the online area are threatened by any new technology from any innovative casino. If that was the case, all casinos would put effort and resources into advanced technologies themselves, but if their cashflow remains as it is, which is significantly positive, I don't think that we will see any significant changes being made to the user experience if it is not necessary from a business point of view.
722  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ⚽ Football Transfers Speculation, Odds and Predictions on: August 12, 2023, 09:34:06 PM
Real Madrid goalkeeper Courtois suffered an unfortunate injury in training. It is said that he will be out of football for 1 year. Therefore, there is a possibility that Real Madrid could sign Bono or Degea. Bono had a very good performance at the World Cup. Degea spent some great years at Manchester United. Both goalkeepers are great options for Real Madrid but I think Degea has more experience than Bono. Degea played top-level games and won many titles at Manchester United. His adaptation to Real Madrid would be faster than Bono's. However, I want to reiterate that Bono is definitely a good goalkeeper and I am sure that he can also succeed at Real Madrid.
Such a big injury to Courtois is undoubtedly a big blow for Real Madrid. No matter how many goalkeepers Real Madrid look for at the moment, it is certain that they will not find a goalkeeper like Courtois. Degea or Yassine Bounou could be good replacements for Courtois but neither of them is a goalkeeper of Courtois's caliber. With the main goalkeeper injured, they must look for a substitute and Real Madrid have no choice. Yassine Bounou seems to me to be the best choice for Real Madrid goalkeeper at the moment. In the last World Cup Yassine Bounou had a great performance, on the basis of his great performance Morocco reached the semi-finals of the World Cup. Real Madrid could get good service from Yassine Bounou in Courtois' absence.

There are a lot of goalkeepers in the market right now. De gea is honestly, a great option. But of course, I absolutely agree that even he is not going to be as good as Thibaut Courtois. This is going to be a big blow for Real Madrid. Yassine Bounou can be a good option. But there will be a huge difference in levels between him and Courtois.

But Real Madrid can’t do anything right now about this. They will have to accept the fact that the main goalkeeper is injured and they will have to work with what they can get. Real Madrid is already having a problem trying to get a striker in the team. And now they will also have to think about goalkeeper. Evidently, the importance of securing a goalkeeper has swiftly risen to the top of their agenda.

Losing a goalkeeper to an injury as tough as the one that Courtios has been suffering from now is in most cases impossible to be made up for. The problem with a goalkeeper is that a whole team gets used to the way the goalkeeper plays and this is crucial to the whole tactic the team is supposed to play. If a goalkeeper isn't the safest with the ball, it is more long balls from the defense to the offense whereas they use the goalkeeper a lot when everyone knows it is safe to do so.

Whoever will replace him, that replacement will need some time to get accustomed with a completely new style. They all know the basics of course, but as I said there are crucial fine-tuning adjustments needed that the defensive line knows exactly what to do depending on the situation they are in.

Courtois could miss a whole season, which is a blow for the club but also for the player. Often times when a club found one of the best five goalkeepers in the world, the problem is the moment when they get an injury because a club is never able to substitute with an equal player. That's why we will see some movements on the transfer market for goalkeepers for sure.

I think a lot of people either in the stadium or in front of their screens were shaking their head when Haaland scored the first goal in the 4th minute of the game. Guardiola must have thought that this is unbelievable how omnipresent Haaland is. He is crazy like I don't know what to say about him.
Pep did not look impressed with the first half performance, he was furious about something that he expressed to Haaland while they walked down the tunnel to the dressing room. Haaland will finish this game with a Hattrick coming out in the second half. Burnley have not been bad in the first half, but Manchester City's quality is more than what they can handle. Haaland scoring again with few touches shows that this season, he may beat the record he set last season.

Manchester city has not been very good even though they are winning, they have made many defensive errors that would have cost them if they had been playing a more stronger opponent. Pep Guardiola will try to correct those errors as the play more games.

This is typical for Guardiola and I understand it. He doesn't want his team to win with tons of luck, he wants his team to control the game and win it with ease if possible. He knows that it can't always be done with ease, but when it could be done he gets angry when the players think they can come down a peg after a lead or lean back in their belief that less than the maximum is also enough.

He would never be satisfied after the first game in the season and it doesn't matter what the result would be. I am not sure what he was criticizing about Haaland, it can't have been something significant, but sometimes Guardiola also corrects certain movements or pass selections in a game and this is what makes him so special as a coach. He himself never gets tired of analyzing the details during the games.
724  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Germany League - Bundesliga Prediction Thread on: August 12, 2023, 07:35:47 PM
What an insane goal by Dani Olmo. Pulling that whole turn off without losing balance and crashing on his face, respect to the move and then keeping calm to thoroughly think about the final shot. I am speechless about that one and if anyone thinks that should have been defended differently, I don't think there is anything a defender or two defenders can do against it. They couldn't anticipate it and their reaction time was nonexistent. I think they couldn't even have fouled him if they wanted to because this turn gave Olmo so much advantage.

But Bayern is having problems like they used to have them during the last season. Now everyone will hope for Kane to be brought on in the second half, but this is not their only problem considering the first half. It is quite simple so far and Bayern is not good enough for now.

Tuchel's heart rate is abnormal I guess and he has all reasons to be angry and nervous before the official season begins.
725  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: The fight between Mark Zuckerberg and Elon Musk. Who you betting on? on: August 12, 2023, 07:30:29 PM
And this fight? It's surely not happening, not even close because these billionaires weren't fighters in the first place. This is just a front to cover their real intentions.

I think you might be mistaken because this fight is highly likely to happen, sooner or later. However, whether it will be an authentic fight or a staged spectacle is  another matter. Both parties stand to gain from the immense media attention this fight would attract, and both would likely want to present themselves as  great humanitarians and benefactors since all the money will supposedly go for humanitarian purposes.

And you're mistaken when you say none of them are fighters, as Zuckerberg is actively training in martial arts and even won a Brazilian jiu-jitsu tournament recently. Moreover, Musk announced today on his platform X (formerly Twitter) that they have reached an agreement on the venue (there's a possibility the match will take place in the Roman Colosseum) and that the entire event will be organized in the style reminiscent of ancient Rome. It's also worth noting that Zuckerberg's children are named Maxima, Augusta, and Aurelia. Do you think it's merely a coincidence?

I've been thinking about a possibility that the two are going to announce a project they want to do together. I am still not able to dig through the confusions and find a good reason why they should do that. I can think of all sorts of two people who agree on a cage fight or a fight in any other setup, but the reason would be so much more obvious for other people. They have been contenders in the business area and it all makes sense when it is X against Meta or other rumors that Meta wants to develop something that Musk is also working on. But this one leaves me behind hopelessly confused.

It can't just be for everyone to lol. Yes I know there is charity supposed to be involved, but that could be done without a fight in a colosseum...
726  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: The fight between Mark Zuckerberg and Elon Musk. Who you betting on? on: August 11, 2023, 09:50:41 PM

Elopn twitted today that the fight will be in Rome and not with UFC lol https://twitter.com/elonmusk/status/1689963696703848449
Okay, so they are serious after all. So it might really happen unless he is just trolling about that ancient arena of the gladiators. But yep he is promoting Meta and X.

Elon must have been banking on his height like he could really fight in this sport. This is gonna be a money-making business for them. Funny Dana White was scratched out after making the hype.

I think you are onto something with your metaverse considerations. The only thing that speaks against it is that Musk was quite serious about what is to happen with any money earned through the platforms X and Meta. There has been a response I think from the minister of culture in Italy or so and they said that Musk promised to pay money to hospitals for children and similar causes.

Now all of this could still be a virtual reality fight and he wouldn't be lying if he says it will take place "in Rome in an epic place" or something along those lines. But I think it would be disappointing for the people if they were some virtual reality figures fighting against each other.

I would like to know how realistic it is that the real Musk fights the real Zuckerberg, but why Italy? Is that some hint? Because the minister of culture said

Quote
The Italian culture minister, Gennaro Sangiuliano, said he was discussing holding the bout “in full respect of the sites” where it might be staged, but that it would not be held in Rome.

“I had a long and friendly phone conversation with Elon Musk,” he said. “We talked about the common passion for the history of ancient Rome. We are discussing how to organise a great charity and historical evocation event, in full respect of the sites. It will not be held in Rome.”

This is confusing but exciting.

Sooner or later this summer PSG are expected to part ways with Neymar. The problem is that there isn't any official offer yet. I think he will most probably go outside Europe. After Neymar leaves the trio we know is going to be nearly completely gone. There is going to be only Mbappe left who is also expected to leave until next summer.

After that PSG are going to be entering a new era in the attacking side and I wonder how this will affect them in the long term. Before all that Luis Enrique's system should work solidly of course. If PSG have a much better system than ever then they can still be successful even without a trio like Mbappe, Messi and Neymar.
The rumors are true, Neymar is reportedly no longer included in PSG priority list under coach Luis Enrique. So far only Barcelona has been linked with a move, but there has been no official offer from Barca to PSG management. I think this transfer will be difficult to materialize, because Barcelona for now will not be able to pay Neymar's contract clause of 150 million Euros. Enrique seems reluctant to use some of PSG star players, maybe because they can't contribute to the team and can't live up to expectations.

Another rumor, one of the clubs from the SPL is ready to bring in the Brazilian player, and is willing to loan him first to Barca for one year. Maybe this is the middle ground that must be taken as a strategy in releasing Neymar this summer.

Right, this is one interesting source where it is explained how that would be done with Neymar and Barcelona. I can imagine that these negotiations are already running and if, as was reported, Neymar told PSG that he wants to leave, then Barcelona will most likely do what they can and they have been creative in the past with making deals that would usually neither reasonable nor doable. Cheesy

But I am still not convinced that Neymar is the key to success for Barcelona. It's known too well what his weaknesses are and it doesn't matter in which league he will be playing next season, the opponents know that they have to go and touch his ankle and he fly through the air like a bird and scream.
729  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread 2023/2024 on: August 11, 2023, 07:39:36 PM
The most realistic thing is that Manchester City win this game and Burnley is something of a possibility. We know Manchester City is not only the best team in the EPL but also in all of Europe at the moment and the chances of them losing are very small. Burnley might have expected a bit of a win since they were the hosts but that wasn't enough to silence the dreadful Manchester City squad. Even if Burnley has a strategy to stop Haaland for 90 minutes, Manchester City still has midfielders who can always score goals and that is the advantage that Manchester City has with its squad which is so complete from all aspects.
Although I chose Manchester City to win first half and the club is leading already, I hope the first half will end with Manchester City winnii. With the stat I am seeing, Manchester City is really dominating the match, which may later be followed by more shots on target. Do you know the surprisjng thing, in the last ten matches that I looked at between these two clubs, Burnley was not able to draw one not to talk if to win one. Manchester City will definitely win this club today again.

I think a lot of people either in the stadium or in front of their screens were shaking their head when Haaland scored the first goal in the 4th minute of the game. Guardiola must have thought that this is unbelievable how omnipresent Haaland is. He is crazy like I don't know what to say about him.

But what surprised me was that after the 1-0 for Manchester City I thought that Burnley could fall apart very early in the game, but that didn't happen. Ok now while I was typing I saw that he scored his 2nd goal. I can't believe how efficient this player is and after the game he will say he should have scored more goals and must improve his game.

Then it is going to be the start for Manchester City that was normally to be expected, but of course still some time to go.
730  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: La Liga (Spanish League) Prediction Thread 2023/24 on: August 11, 2023, 12:19:37 AM
Barcelona and Real Madrid are again going to dominate the La Liga table. Atletico Madrid genuinely needs a change. Otherwise, they are not going to be able to improve in my opinion. And  I don't think that Atlético Madrid can actually give some resistance to Real Madrid or Barcelona. Atletico Madrid has become an average team to be honest. They have got enough players in the squad. But the tactics are just not good enough.

The main competition is going to be between Real Madrid and Barcelona. And with the news of Real Madrid's main goalkeeper being injured, it does indicate that Barcelona will have the upper hand.
Currently, Barcelona is having a good performance with a team that is very solid, so it provides more value for Barcelona. Meanwhile,  at Real Madrid, there are many good players who have retired, so it can be said that Real Madrid does not have full strength because many great players are no longer at Real Madrid.

There aren't that many players that have retired or left Real Madrid. In my opinion it is only Benzema and Asensio. Benzema was becoming a dinosaur anyway and is too old and didn't play all the games last season. Asensio was a good player who left the team and Eden Hazard isn't an important player as he rarely played for the team. So they lost Benzema and Asensio of those players who were important to the team. Asensio contributed 15 goals and assists in total in 31 games, which will be missed but it won't be impossible to find someone else to do the job. In return they got Bellingham for the midfield, which was about time as Kroos and Modric are getting old or are already quite old if you will. The next few days may bring some important news so I guess Real Madrid will be good to go for the season and the transfer window is still open.
731  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread 2023/2024 on: August 10, 2023, 09:58:17 PM
They will have to defend the Premier League, the odds are in their favor.
He should start and find it difficult to score tommorow night because this is Burnley no matter how strong you are they always look very hard to break and score. During the days of Sean Dyche before he was sacked they are know for how stubborn and offensive tacklers they have. Erling Haaland might not sckre tomorrow night still.
It is always interesting to know the result of the first match. Man City will play against Burnley away, it may be not an easy match. But if we consider the player quality, Burnley should be not an obstacle for Man City. Although they may miss De Bruyne and Gvardiol, they have enough players to replace them. They have Bernardo Silva to replace De Bruyne and they have some players on the defense line. So, the absence of the 2 players won't impact anything, I believe Man City to win their first match.

Anyway, offensive tacklers won't always be a good idea. If they too much made dangerous tackling, the referee probably give them red cards. Erling Haaland also isn't a weak striker, he isn't easy to beat by the defenders.  Grin

Replacing De Bruyne isn't easy though Wink I think De Bruyne is one of hose players who are irreplaceable. You can do it only somehow, not really totally. But yes on paper I think there are no questions left that Manchester City should win this with more or less ease. Maybe not easily, but it shouldn't be one of their hardest games this season. To kick off a season can be a bit more tricky than other games, but they had their first test against Arsenal and almost won that game, so they can't be too bad and it should be enough for them to win against Burnley.
732  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: The fight between Mark Zuckerberg and Elon Musk. Who you betting on? on: August 10, 2023, 09:00:22 PM

Dana is also behind the hype of this as he had been setting up the two yet he can't give a final date of when the battle will be.
But in an interview no one is ducking anyone and he got a point when he says the two are not professional fights for a living.  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=boRl-jOJ9IM&t=362s

I still think this is not happening because of Dana's response. If he had been talking to both of these billionaires and still are unsure of the dates then its the billionaires is the one playing Dana.
Yeah, Elon Musk and Mark Zuckerburg are one of the most powerful people in our world right now and it is still their decision if they will get along with the hype of Dana created. Both of them are had their own footage of doing MMA trainings and both of them are trained or guided by professional MMA fighter. There's still a chance that they will both fight and honestly I'm rooting for them to fight. I'm speculating that if the fight happens, the losing player will either X(twitter) or facbook stocks will be affected by the outcome.

I can only assume Zucker vs Musk fight will happen in the metaverse since later in this interview, you will learn that UFC and meta ventured into the metaverse. I guess only their avatars will fight in the Metaverse. Nothing serious about this especially because they are not really into combat sports.

In the Metaverse, anything can happen. Everyone onboard in meta can have their own avatar created by AI and can do all sorts of sports. Thats where we are heading I guess yet we still can bet.

That's an interesting consideration you are bringing up here, but what would Musk gain from it if that was the case? I mean it could really be more behind this whole thing than meets the eye at first, but it would have to be of advantage for both. I can't think of anything crystal clear that would benefit Musk except for the sheer mass of people all around the world who would want to watch it, but they are not having such an event to expand their follower count. It would have to be something else with long-term effects.
733  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Germany League - Bundesliga Prediction Thread on: August 10, 2023, 07:50:47 PM
Bayern Munich need to solve their centre-forward problem first and then I can be more confident about them. This was one of the main reasons why they struggled more than normal last season. They needed a striker like Lewandowski. Finally they have found their candidate who is Kane but there is still no agreement on transfer fee.

One way or another they should finish this job successfully. Apart from that they need a goalkeeper as I already said. In addition maybe they would make use of a winger as well after Mane's departure but it isn't priority of course.

The problems with the center forward play are already solved and I guess they are going to hire Harry Kane because even Tottenham can't eject the offer when they increase the price for this player and they will accept the offer from Bayern Munich, even Kane's wife is trying to find a house on Germany and this can show us the transfer is done and they are going to sign the contract soon.

Tottenham has made their decision and they found a deal with Bayern, but now check the public channels. Some sources say that they have heard Kane could stop the whole deal in the last moment. Don't ask me why, but this would be a joke.

I can't believe the news to be honest because if Kane does that, what does he expect the people to think about him. The Tottenham fans wouldn't be said I guess, but all the rest would think he is crazy. Not in general because he decided to stay in Tottenham, but how he did it if it is true.
734  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ⚽ Football Transfers Speculation, Odds and Predictions on: August 10, 2023, 07:44:49 PM
According to the latest news, Kane now may refuse the deal after the teams found it.

He is not sure anymore to leave England.

What a joke.

If it is true, it is a joke as you said. But how do we know if it is true? Did he say anything in public that I am not aware of?

All these transfer have become kind of awkward. There has been a lot of excitement around transfers in the past and sometimes drama like players not attending training and other things. But this would indeed be a joke if the whole transfer revolves around the teams to find an agreement and once that happens, the player says he knows where is home is.

But nobody really knows unless there are official public statements. But let's be careful, maybe it is some deepfake statement. Would be funny if someone launches a video faking Kane who says he now wants to go to Palmeiras instead.
735  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ⚽ Football Transfers Speculation, Odds and Predictions on: August 09, 2023, 09:28:58 PM
Lukaku-Vlahovic is on stand-by.

If Chelsea will not give 40m too in the deal, the deal will not happen.
Normally chelsea are not really interested in signing Vlahovic or any striker at the moment because they already have Nkunku and Jackson and any additional player will be seen as surplus to the team. Even pochettino made a comment that he doesn’t wants alot of players and that he wants to trim the squad as much as possible so there won’t be excessive number of players in the squad. What chelsea are focused on right now is to conclude Caicedo’s deal as soon as possible and sell some few players like Ziyech, Chalobah, Lukaku and Hudson Odoi before the window closes.

Juventus are only trying to force chelsea to pay the amount so they can use it to buy other players.

And Vlahovic could end similarly to Lukaku. I think both have been overrated while I still see some potential for Vlahovic to improve, but he has never really been this outstanding goal scorer who broke all records. He has scored a decent number of goals and he was good when he played for Fiorentina as it is always harder to score in teams that are not the leaders in the league or belong to the top group of the league. But his performance for Juventus Turin wasn't really fascinating. At the same time I think he is also quite expensive.
736  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gambling experience using loan money on: August 09, 2023, 08:41:38 PM
Using borrowed money to gamble certainly has a greater level of responsibility, at least that's what I've experienced and felt in the past. But one thing that makes me confident to borrow money for gambling is, I realize and or I am very confident that I can win at a certain bet and at a certain time at that time. But, if I'm not confident that I can win, then I also wouldn't be desperate to borrow money to gamble because honestly, borrowing money to gamble is very risky. So yes, it seems borrowing is fine i guess but one thing we have to realize is, that we also have to be aware of being able to return it. Whether it's from the profits from gambling itself or if it fails, you must be prepared to raise money to repay the loan of course.
If you are so confident that you will win, it means that it should not be called gambling anymore.
If you are too sure that you will win, you should have gone for like 500k dollars loan instead of borrowing 1k dollars from a friend.
There is no way anyone will be so so sure that they will win.
That is by the way, discussing about the topic raised in OP, borrowing to gamble is not a good advice.
Gambling itself is a risk, taking a loan is another risk. Using loan money to gamble is a double risk and if you do not win it can lead to depression. The only people that will consider to do that are addicts.

Also, what is the consequence of using loan money to gamble? I think that it will ultimately lead to a catastrophe because how many players would take a $1000 loan, gamble and double the money, pay $1000 back and then what, stop gambling? I think this could quickly and most likely escalate because a player could get trapped into thinking that this is really a great concept.

The two things that are behind gambling with loan money contradict each other. Someone who is so self-controlled that he would never take a loan to gamble, won't ever win in gambling with loan money because he doesn't consider it in the first place. Someone who would take loan money to use it for gambling is very, very likely not the type of person to then stop after winning and having paid back the loan money. This is just one problem that I think is quite obvious for most people who consider taking a loan to gamble.

737  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: French Soccer League Predictions and Discussion Thread (Ligue 1) on: August 09, 2023, 08:30:17 PM
Since they already got a striker, I think they already made arrangements for him to leave and they can be a good team without him as well. Lets be honest here, are they good enough with the current roster to win the title without him? Yes they are, and did they win the UCL title with him? No they did not. So worst case scenario they will win the title of ligue 1 like they always do, and they are not going to end up winning UCL like usual.

So, it is going to be possible for them to keep Mbappe sidelined for all season long. In all his plan to get paid for one more year before he leaves for Real, the only flaw in his logic was he didn't believe they could actually not even put his name on the list, and PSG proved how far they can go if they mean this.

I would appreciate if PSG does it. I have no issues with Mbappe and I am certainly one of those people who like to watch him play and see how genius he is, but everything has its limits even for him. I am sure that if this is what PSG intends, you are totally right that Mbappe did not expect PSG to cross him off the official first team.

I am not familiar with the contracts and what PSG is allowed to do and what they are not allowed to do, but could they force him to play for a second team or to go to the training sessions on a daily basis and never bring him on? But he could probably counter decisions like that by simulating an injury, some mental issues that nobody can prove.

This is turning into a cinema movie if it keeps going like this. Time to get the popcorn out. But how must Enrique feel when he becomes the coach of PSG, Mbappe stays for one more year and he can't even let him play? This is all wrong but Mbappe is to blame.

Friendlies are friendlies, no need to put too much meaning into them, it is not going to mean anything until the season starts, even then the first few weeks do not really matter all that much and should be considered differently. I know that it will take some time for teams to adjust and be a lot better.

Tuchel has managed to do something that will benefit them as long as possible and as well as possible, which means that we are talking about a situation that will be a bit different in the end. This will result with them not being any different on the long run, but it will certainly be an important choice for sure. Just focus on what you can do, and you could bet a lot more carefully if you realize it is friendly games and not important.

I don't agree and think even in the friendly match between teams we see, still, any teams will try to show better performance and players will try to prove themselves that's why I think even in the friendly games we can understand which team can performance better in the next season and this can make the friendly games important for us. Also since the friendly matches are open to the fans to watch they usually try to show the best performance they can have.

Really no, these friendly matches can't be relied upon. Since this has been a lively discussion now in many threads, it would be nice to have an aggregate overview of the top teams, their friendly matches and whether these matches were of any significance in predicting a team' success at the beginning of the season. I believe it doesn't matter at all. When the coaches substitute 10 players, how is the result of such a game still a good indicator or predictor for the results in the games under real competitive conditions?

Yes, Atlantic Madrid sounds pretty good for the MLS, by the way  Grin
As for your question, it's me. I believe that Atlético may well kick City out of the Champions League - in the 21-22 season they played almost on an equal footing with City and City at the end of the game played exactly the shameful Simeone football (tightening time, fouls, senseless ball control).

I am definitely not one of those who'd say that Atletico has no chance because that's wrong, Atletico has a chance as much as any other team has a chance to win a game against Manchester City. But the relative strength of the two teams has shifted significantly over recent years and yet the game has to be played. But if that games was repeated many times, I would say that Manchester City would win significantly more games than they tie or lose against Atletico considering their present state.

Atletico a few years ago was the most inconvenient and nasty team to play against because of their attitude and their quality. There was an evil, yet effective synergy between their attitude and their quality. But do you think that they still have that quality? The attitude might be the same, but the quality isn't. That's what I can tell from my point of view.

There is no doubt that City will win most of the games in a long series. But Atlético are an awkward opponent for City in their style and if they are in shape or luck is on their side they can win. As for their current quality, firstly, the upcoming season will show, and secondly, it is obvious that Atlético has regressed in recent years. I think the problem is Diego Simeone - he is stuck in one place and it is high time for him to leave, if only to refresh his football experience in another club/League.

I completely agree with you on this one. Diego Simeone can be a great coach and give a team the energy he is himself carrying, but people adapt to that and Simeone doesn't look as motivated and energized as he did when Atletico was at its peak. I felt that the combination of Atletico and Simeone should have come to an end a few years ago.

As you said, they seem to be stuck. They won't drop and finish 12th in La Liga, but it also doesn't look like they would be a Champions League favorite anymore or be a serious candidate for the La Liga title (although that is possible when Real and Barcelona suck for a season).

He doesn't have the same positive influence on the team as he used to have in the past, that is at least what I think. They could turn into a Wenger-Arsenal thing, stay together for 20 years without being exceptionally good or bad.

Osimhen's price is too high for a team like Ac Milan I don't know where the idea comes from to say Ac Milan trying to hire Osimhen for the next season but as far as I know, other teams in Serie A can't have enough money to hire this player for the next season and even if Napoli gets some offer for Osimhen from other teams, there will other teams like PSG with better financial situation.
But regardless of that, I think Napoli's first priority is to keep Osimhen for another season.

Ac milan is not really interested in recruiting Osimhen there is not even an issue linking them if they want to recruit osimhen in this transfer window. I agree with you that the high price of Osimhen will make the Serie A team unable to bring in Osimhen in this transfer market. For now only the teams from the Saudi Arabian League have strong finances to recruit Osimhen from Napoli.

For now Al hilal is trying to seduce Osimhen in this transfer window where Al hilal has made a bid of 140 million Euros to bring Osimhen from Napoli. So, if Napoli accepts this offer, it is very likely that Osimhen will play in the Saudi Arabian league next season. But i think he will consider accepting the offer from Al Hilal because he is still quite young and can pursue his dream in europe with another team like PSG.

Napoli is still ok this season as Osimhen's contract is running until 2025. But when Al-Hilal made that offer, did Osimhen say that he would go to Saudi Arabia? Napoli can keep him for another season and they don't really have to fear to be missing out on a sensational transfer fee. That would still be possible next season. But for Osimhen signing a long-term contract with a club from Saudi Arabia would put any of his title ambitions on ice for a very long time or even forever. Going there at the age of 24 would be a brave decision as this really means a decision against a top level career. He should give himself a couple more years in Europe.
