721  Economy / Reputation / Re: Received message from "Bitcoin SV" via PM on: September 11, 2020, 04:35:04 PM

Are sockpuppet accounts being made now, @Bitcoin SV?
My guess is that he was temp banned for bumping a lot of old QS threads with similar posts. It wouldn’t be the first time something like that happened.
722  Economy / Reputation / Re: Received message from "Bitcoin SV" via PM on: September 10, 2020, 02:56:30 PM
I have reported the PM to all the admins asking them to confirm the above message in this thread.  I cannot control if they actually take my requested action.

If there is any question as to if the message in the OP is real, you can review the merit history of Bitcoin SV. His merit history reflects him doing effectively the same thing he is proposing.
723  Other / Meta / Re: Revoke self-moderating privileges from korner and other hypertrolls on: September 10, 2020, 01:48:05 PM
This person is creating what is effectively scam accusations in the reputation sub as self moderated threads. This prevents the accused from bring able to respond.

This person should either have to post threads in the correct sub, or have the ability to remove posts in his self moderated threads removed.

This is not a function of his beliefs, associations, or who he is attacking. It is a function of basic fairness to those he is accusing.
724  Economy / Reputation / Re: Received message from "Bitcoin SV" via PM on: September 10, 2020, 12:52:13 PM
Bitcoin SV opened a topic that actually accuses you of sending unsollicited PM's:
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5274890

Just giving you both a heads-up
Send 0.05 BTC to bc1q95tq42s3d5pjx9k5aszh5vvg6wkf5kp8xu4pw8 if you need to full support on this forum. Or we will troll you every day

He created a self moderated thread and I will respond here. The PM quote he posted is fake, I have never asked him for payment, I don’t believe I have ever sent him a PM.

He appears to be a professional troll.
725  Economy / Reputation / Received message from "Bitcoin SV" via PM on: September 10, 2020, 12:08:53 PM
Hello, I am BSV representative. Please help us against the trolls, we needs a merits for reaching full member and have ability to wearing official BSV avatar. In the future, we promise you full support and to returning a half of the merits you sent. Let's make these trolls shit with bricks (nutildah, BitcoinFX, Piston Honda & others)

I received the above message from a "BSV representative", unsolicited. I won't be sending this person any merit.

I am not sure how wearing a BSV avatar will make anyone "shit with bricks".

This is being posted for transparency and to request that "BSV representative" stop sending stupid PMs, or PMs that you think are not stupid.
726  Other / Politics & Society / Re: [BET] Trump or not Trump 2020, eddie13 vs suchmoon on: August 19, 2020, 04:18:14 PM
I won't blame Joe Biden for this because he doesn't know what's going on and he just listens to his campaign staffers, but who on Joe Biden's campaign thought it was a good idea to do an interview with Cardi B?

https://www.cnn.com/2020/08/17/politics/cardi-b-joe-biden-voter-outreach/index.html

And it's not like she admitted to drugging men and robbing them or has gang affiliation with the bloods or anything.
Anyone considering to vote for Biden should read the lyrics of her song WEX and consider if you want to vote for someone who is associating with someone like Cardi B.
727  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Give away again. on: August 19, 2020, 04:15:33 PM
Report it to YouTube. These pop up a dime a dozen. Scammers will create these scams faster than you can create threads about them.

729  Economy / Reputation / Re: LFC_bitcoin sending PMs to his friends to oppose flag and bribing DT inclusion on: August 12, 2020, 10:42:05 PM
QS.
You are just naming random people without logic or evidence. You also happen to be deflecting from, and trying to distract from your own corruption.

One of three things happened:
*The hack was faked, and someone saw something he thought was wrong and wanted to go public with the negative information without harming his own reputation.
*The person Sportsbet scammed (or someone else they scammed) hacked someone who was strangely opposing the case against Sportsbet
*One of Sportsbet's competitors hacked the account hoping to expose obvious corruption.
730  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Donald Trump is asking for a delay of the election. Should we do it? on: August 06, 2020, 05:34:23 PM
Trump has also faced near universal backlash on both sides of the isle. It appears Republicans are not supporting him on the issue of delaying the election. It appears this was an attempt to get the MSM to talk about the risks of voting via mail, but it also could result in him not getting the nomination next month.

I think it's more likely the tweet was an impulse and he's going to walk it back soon.
I think the tweet was poorly worded. He should have said that *congress should delay the election until...* instead of asking if the election should be delayed.

Quote
Trump has historically played 4-D chess with his political opponents. This got him the nomination in 2016, and the presidency. He lost big in 2018, but this was in large part due to Sessions recusing himself.

Unless Sessions agreed to behave unethically and then chickened out it's really Trumps fault for not nominating someone unethical enough to not recuse themselves from an investigation they had a conflict of interest in,
There was no basis for Sessions to recuse himself, just as we are now learning that there was no basis to start the investigations in the first place.

To QuickSeller - Highly doubt he is going to not get the nod in a month (whenever the convention is) He is still the sitting President, and still enjoys like 85-93 percent approval rating of the Republican party. If you take on Trump by trying to join the Never Trumpers (as a Republican) you're going to get slaughtered and lose your own primary.

Look at Session for godsake. Guy just lost his Senate seat that he held for a couple decades to a former football coach who was endorsed by Trump.
[not sure why you didn’t quote my post]

The idea would be that Trump willingly drops out of the race and endorses whoever gets the nomination. Trump has high approval ratings among Republicans, but is facing long odds to winning the general election.

Trump dumped I believe hundreds of millions of dollars into his campaign in 2016, but I don’t believe he has given anything to it this cycle. This may have to do with how badly his business are doing due to the coronavirus lockdowns.

I cannot stress how important this November will be to the country. A Biden win would almost certainly mean communism will spread to the US and the rest of the world.
731  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Donald Trump is asking for a delay of the election. Should we do it? on: July 31, 2020, 12:54:11 AM
One of the founders of the federalist society, who has supported Trump as recently as when he was being impeached earlier this year is now calling for Trump's immediate impeachment. -- https://www.nytimes.com/2020/07/30/opinion/trump-delay-election-coronavirus.html

732  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Most schools plan to partially reopen in the fall, what will happen next? on: July 30, 2020, 12:56:51 AM
My guess is that teachers unions collectively decide it is safe to open schools on November 4.

To my knowledge, there have been zero student --> teacher infections worldwide, and students tend to not spread the virus among eachother.

Ideally, there will be funds in the phase 4 stimulus package that includes money for replacement teachers whose unions are unwilling to allow their members to return to work. From the looks of it, there will be no phase 4, and the expiration of enhanced UI benefits will make the lockdowns much less popular.

The Pharmacist (Legendary)

4. You actively participate in the discussion of reputation issues on the forum. In your opinion, is the DT system fair or has flaws?

"     Bitcointalk’s trust system is unlike anything I’ve seen on other forums, and yes it’s got plenty of flaws.  One of the biggest flaws IMO is that nobody is held accountable for the feedback they leave, since trust isn’t moderated and members are allowed to leave feedbacks regardless of whether what they’re writing is the truth or not.  I’ve never liked the trust system, but it’s become apparent to me over the years that Theymos isn’t too keen on making huge changes to it.

I strongly agree with this. The lack of moderation of the trust system has lead to people being able to leave controversial ratings without consequences. When the exclusion feature was first introduced, a very small number of people were held accountable for controversial ratings, but this stopped fairly quickly. This was noticed and those that wanted to leave controversial ratings left ratings of increasing controversy over time as they observed the lack of accountability.

It was even interesting read to go through your interview, which show's you to be an interesting person overall, more interesting than I thought.
Agreed. I always thought of Quickseller as very knowledgeable.
Just to stir the pot a bit, I missed the question: "How many forum accounts do you currently own"? Tongue

I'd be interested to see an interview with aTriz. I'm curious if he's still around with another account. Before making questions for him, I recommend reading this topic.
atriz was not the original owner of his account and he was probably a long standing member when he bought his account. I suspect he is still around somewhere, possibly running a campaign business.

I've enjoyed reading all the interviews. I don't know if zasad@ does it to everyone but he gave me the option of posting it myself. I think it would be better it users posted their own so you can merit them if you like their answers. If you wanna merit zasad@ for the questions then just toss some in the op.

At least two  Cheesy, just like me.

I still have ACCTseller, although I don’t remember it’s password don’t think I have an email address associated with the account, so I probably won’t be posing from it again (don’t have any real reason to anyway).  I still have boelens that defaulted on a loan several years ago and has turned into a time waister in sending single messages about it every several months — I don’t see myself ever disposing that one sadly.

I do try to find good posts to merit as I am still a merit source. Sadly, I find myself sending merit to a lot of the same people every month. I wish there were more people who would make good posts that I come across.

I was even asked to pay several hundred thousand dollars for an interview Smiley

It is usually seen as unethical for a journalist to pay for interviews. It is also not uncommon for journalists to publicly disclose they tried to get an interview but were unable to get one after the person asked for payment.
734  Economy / Reputation / Re: [Interviews] with Bitcointalk members on: July 27, 2020, 08:46:11 PM
Sorry for the delayed response.

It was interesting reading through interviews with many “famous” forum members. This would have been a great initiative for the 10 year anniversary of the forum.
735  Other / Politics & Society / Re: E-mail spam from the Trumpsteins on: July 17, 2020, 01:20:45 AM
But thats insane that they've sent that many emails in one day. That's literally 9 emails within 1 day period. Lord if that was on my personal email I'd be VERY angry.

I'd be angry if these e-mails come without a link to unsubscribe. Otherwise - meh. Spammers gonna spam but as long as you can unspam them - fair game. But how they obtained the e-mail address seems to be the more interesting part of the story. I'm guessing there was a fine print along with the OP's original donation that basically said "we can do whatever we want with your personal info, including using it to spam you indefinitely and giving it to other spammers".

Going to assume that all of these emails have links to unsubscribe in them, even if they weren't fully copied over when  tvbcof posted the emails on here. Probably just pretty far down in the email to hide the fact that you actually can unsubscribe.

Here's some info on the Trump campaign selling your email and other info around for $$$$ -

https://www.opensecrets.org/news/2019/06/email-list-for-sale-2020-candidates-are-paying/

and another

https://www.seattletimes.com/nation-world/trump-campaign-selling-email-and-phone-lists-for-millions-of-supporters/

Selling mailing lists is not something that is unique to Trump. Political campaigns and PACs routinely both buy and sell mailing lists.

In 2012, I tried signing up for clickbait mailing list that promised tickets to Obama's 2012 nomination in Charlotte that didn't actually get me tickets. I ended up on dozens of mailing lists. About two months before the election, I successfully unsubscribed to all the mailing lists, but days before the election, I magically started getting emails from Obama again, asking for money and reminding me to vote.
736  Other / Meta / Re: Suggestion: Make it just a little more difficult to create a new account. on: June 24, 2020, 04:51:14 AM
If campaign managers start to accept only Jr Members+, that would reduce this problem as you need at least 1 merit to become Jr..

It's more difficult to get a merit than to solve a captcha or create an email.
I don’t think any campaigns have accepted newbies in years. It has been nearly as long since any campaign has accepted junior members, and it is very unusual for a campaign to accept members...
737  Other / Archival / Re: [ CWE-79 ] *.nastyfans.org is vulnerable to script injection on: June 19, 2020, 05:58:34 PM
The analyzer site appears to be run by naypalm who was active in the last week.

In any case, I don’t think someone not logging in for a long time is a reason to not make an attempt to disclose the vulnerability, even if they don’t actually receive the message or act on it.
738  Other / Archival / Re: [ CWE-79 ] *.nastyfans.org is vulnerable to script injection on: June 19, 2020, 05:29:42 PM
Did you responsibly disclose the vulnerability to the site owner? Or did you first publish this report publicly?
739  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Proof BLM is racist or irrational on: June 16, 2020, 06:35:28 PM

Morgan Freeman said it best, if you want to get rid of racism, stop speaking about it. The movement itself is categorizing people based on their color. If they would just stop with calling people white and black it would help. Also, I don't understand why it's still fine to if 2 black people call each other the N-Word. Everyone should just stop using that word. So the next generations growing up will never hear it.
This cannot be emphasized enough.

They are trying to divide America and start a race war.

I am curious what would happen if theymos were to take a stand against BLM. Nearly no one has been willing to stand up to them, which has only empowered BLM to bully more businesses. I don’t doubt that bitcointalk would get smeared, but it might also get others to open their eyes to what kind of evil BLM is trying to push.
740  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Petition for George Floyd's Law on: June 01, 2020, 08:16:03 PM
The riots are not justified. Pardoning or declining to prosecute those rioting would amount to treason as these people are trying to overthrow the government. Those that are rioting don’t care about what happened to that guy, they are using what happened as an opportunity to cause problems.
