it is a website that you can use to get ltc.

btc-e.com ?
724  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: litecoin dead ? on: October 23, 2013, 02:15:28 AM
Litecoin started dying when people switched from mining btc. That created too much supply. This was pretty much foreseeable.
This is a good point. It seems sensible to think that the entire GPU-mining economy switching from BTC to LTC would skew the market. I mean, who's gonna buy all those coins? You can't do anything with litecoin except speculate -- and with a seemingly never-ending supply of coins from all the GPU miners (and a much higher inflation rate than BTC to begin with), why would you buy in?

The number of coins produced per day has nothing to do with the number of people mining.  Difficulty changes ensure that the coin production rate is constant.

This is pretty basic stuff.

But with people flocking in - difficulty rises, and shares are more and more divided, and then people start to lose perspective and interest in continuing. That's my point.

?    That is not what is going on with BTC. As difficulty goes up price seems to follow. Interest in BTC is growing as well.
725  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: litecoin dead ? on: October 22, 2013, 09:39:58 PM
The LTC bashers are intimidated by it because LTC can play a role in popping the BTC bubble they are holding on to, most of them are kids with not even a reasonable amount of BTC/wealth. You make a bad name of bitcoiners. The big guys are actually pretty positive about LTC. Grow up tbh

some people seem to think if they attack ltc it will make the alts they hold go up... i seem to think that if ltc goes up, the other alts might have a shot. anyway thats why i hold a small amount of xpm.

I feel bad so many of you fell for the Litecoin bandwagon.

Lol

ixcoin has been around longer than LTC and has not even come close to the successes of LTC. You are just jelly.

http://coinmarketcap.com/

You are in the 12th spot at a value of 200K usd. Some of us hold more LTC than all of ixcoin.

Who's talking about market cap?  The mechanics of this new industry have changed with cheap ASICS and a much higher Bitcoin price.  LTC cannot succeed in this environment so either LTC gets ASICS, Bitcoin dies or LTC dies.  Those are the options.  That is reality.

Positive correlation.

Look it up.

link to more info about this? i'm still not sure i understand the implications of the asic issue and altcoins.

you posted before i could call him on it. pretty much this  " nonsensical ramblings "

you are a funny man. i know you are trying to pump what you hold, and i have no problem with that, but i do not like they way you are doing it.

pretending to be sad for people who hold ltc then nonsensical ramblings about ASICS and death of LTC.

best of luck with ixcoin. it has gone far in the past and im sure it will keep going. btw i mined 30,000 ixcoin back in the day, fun times.

I checked the domain registry, and I am sure he is the owner。

http://www.namecheap.com/domains/whois.aspx?domain=BTCT.com

I too am curious as to how you confirmed that bitbigbird is the owner, from the given information?

lol you sure do sound like a sock.

Nope, probably not a sock. I was quite sure this was auction fraud, so I asked Theymos to do an IP check. No match.

I am a reseller of Asicminer in China. You can make sure it from Rockxie.
I use vpn for stable internet link. So the ip change  every day. You can write email to the reisgter to confirm it. dzlmail@126.com

Your IP changing everyday is not really supporting the you not using a sock suggestion. Anyway Are you okay with escrow and when will the auction end?

Well none of my socks use the same IP. (Just kidding)   But something just seems odd about this auction.

BTCT.com

BTC Trust
BTC Trade

Im selling the domain. Bid in BTC.
Best domain for BTC service.

I bid for 10 BTC

well that jumped up pretty quickly.

proof of ownership and escrow will be used?

I guess the owner won't sell for a 0.x price.
I think it worth 10BTC for me.

Perfectly fair.

I just hope you will use escrow unless you really know the owner.

737  Economy / Reputation / Smoothie's attacks the Litecoin Foundation. on: October 18, 2013, 02:14:20 AM
@ Goat,

Perhaps you should address these concerns on the Litecoin forum concerning "The Litecoin Foundation":

https://forum.litecoin.net/index.php/topic,997.msg39610.html#msg39610

Quote
So what is the current status of this "Litecoin Foundation"? Is it incorporated somewhere as a non-profit org? If so, where is the paperwork for us to examine?

Legally a foundation is a non-profit entity so you can't start a for-profit business and call it a foundation (at least not in any country where the rule of law applies). If this "foundation" is actually a for-profit business then it is 100% a scam designed to confuse people into lining someone's pockets in the mistaken belief that they are helping out some sort of charity dedicated to promoting and enhancing Litecoin.

If that is the case this "foundation" is actually hurting LTC and this business should not only be banned from promoting anything on these forums but should be actively denounced by the LTC community for what it is.

I bring this up as there is no real information here on the so-called "Litecoin Foundation" yet there is another thread where they are looking to sell physical Litecoin coins. Where is this money (received from the sale of the coins) going and what is it being spent on?

As well as others in that thread. Its been over 2 months and you (The Litecoin Foundation) have not addressed these concerns.

Thanks in advance for addressing their concerns.

738  Economy / Scam Accusations / DobZombie and thebitcoinmuseum.com (He is now working on fixing the issue) on: October 17, 2013, 09:54:08 PM
Edit:   DobZombie is now working on fixing the issue. I hope he will update this thread once his registration is finalized.

This thread is to inform the public that DobZombie has made false and fraudulent statements about the donations he is trying to collect.

DobZombie has been in several threads begging for items for his "museum" thebitcoinmuseum.com  You can check his post history (please note he has been known to remove his own posts).

This "museum" does not seem to be registered anywhere as a non-profit or a for profit entity. Why does this matter? He is claiming the donations that you send to him are not owned by him personally but by the museum.

Hey Goat. Stick a dick in your ear.

Nothing for the Museum is part of my 'collection'. I don't own any of those pieces that are donated. It all belongs to the Museum.

If the museum is not a person or a company nothing can belong to it.

Also from his website "© 2013 BitcoinNerd. All Rights Reserved. 'Walter' is a registered trademark. "

I have checked and 'Walter' does not seem to be a registered trademark.

Now I am not the police and some of you might be able to check this out in better detail than myself. If anyone can find that any of my information is incorrect I will update the OP and if needed change the title and lock the thread.

I am not against any of you donating stuff to Rob (and I think his idea is a pretty good one if he would only do it correctly) but please be aware if you try to claim the donation on your taxes the IRS (or whatever in your country) might not be very understanding.

Thanks.

739  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: [ANN] Physical Litecoins by the Litecoin Foundation on: October 16, 2013, 06:38:43 PM
Goat,
Any updates for us on these coins?!?!

The coins and the holograms have been ordered. We need to wait until they both come in then hopefully shortly after that we can start selling.

We are working on a coin that will hold BTC as well and also have the new security measure that will be found in the Litecoin version.

Pretty interesting stuff if it all works out Smiley

I will update when I can.
