721  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gender in Gambling [differences between Women and Men in Gambling] on: November 03, 2023, 02:08:28 AM
~
The rate between women gamblers and men gamblers might be lower because most women do not have the interest or time to gambler. Women are mostly house keepers and they take care of their family. Most time, they don't have the time to go to public places like casinos to go and bet because of reactions they might get from male gamblers. There are many reasons why women would rather choose to take care of their family than to be seen in physical or online casinos to bet unless the young females that are coming up to be a mother having no much responsibilities.
Calm down with your misogynistic role picking bro, imposing women on a stereotypical role is just so weird to me or I might be overreacting. As much as I like that your claim supports what I said that there's probably more traditional women in a population but if you just look at the gambling population, we both would probably be wrong because I'm sure that the difference in men and women in gambling might be much smaller than we like to think.
722  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Tips on staying responsible. on: November 02, 2023, 04:47:33 PM
~
Therefore, in my opinion, gambling is really only for pleasure activities, because obviously with a very large level of risk there will make it difficult for anyone to make money, and also the casino system is made for gamblers so that they always lose.
As much as anyone will agree with your conclusion, it's always going to be that way where people aren't going to listen to what you're saying anyway since a lot of us don't really like it when someone is saying something logical and our actions are wrong, some people have a hard time admitting to that fact like in this gamble which is gambling for fun, you can't really tell them that without them being defensive about their gambling habits.
~
Actually it doesn't matter if you want to gamble, just do it still by applying self-control and a lot of limits there, it will help you to prevent bigger losses later. And also yes it's true you also have to be a gambler who is responsible for whatever will happen to your money especially losing you have to be able to accept that result, because in gambling if you don't win then yes you lose. But yes, it is best to just stop from the activity, because it will only make you experience a lot of financial problems. I understand it's hard but that doesn't mean you can't, just do it slowly by reducing your gambling time and occupy yourself with other activities.
Again with the obviously correct advice, it's always going to end up with the same thing as I've said in my first statement, and I would like to add that we also shouldn't force people to take in our gospel about what to do to avoid the bad benefits of gambling because it's not going to matter, they're going to just do more gambling the more you try and preach that gambling's bad so they can prove you wrong.
723  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Do not share your bitcoin holdings with everyone on: November 02, 2023, 03:56:52 PM
This advice should be just straightforward do not flaunt your wealth. If you use the search function you will see members have created this kind of threads and posts warning of this. It doesn’t only exposes you to the government eyes but also exposes both you and your family to dangers. Sadly this is one of the many bad things social media has introduced, many People mostly Gen Z flaunts themselves and don’t see it as breaching their own privacy.
That only works for people who have a moderate amount of wealth, when you move to a certain threshold, the money you're earning and the wealth that you've got is going to show and the only way you can be secure is hiring a security services and isolating yourself from others which is sad and deplorable as it's going to remove you the human experience as time goes on. Also, it's not entirely the fault of someone when they flex their wealth or celebrate the money that they've got, we are forgetting the fact that someone's committed a crime on someone because we want to force our ideals on others about not being a show-off, it's not a crime to flex your money or wealth anyways.
724  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Don't Force Your Children to Learn Bitcoin on: November 02, 2023, 03:14:04 PM
For tender minds, it's better to do things around them that you want them to do than rather say/force anything. If someone from family were to be into Bitcoin than high chances child will get to know about it and might get into it as well.
Totally agree, children should learn some basic fundamental stuff in their formative years so it's really in our best interest if it's something that teaches them about being a decent person, how to think in a critical way and teaching them about knowing themselves should be some of the stuff that a parent should teach them, teaching them something complex without any fundamentals in problem solving and discourse is like shouting into the void or in a way it's going to be useless plus I feel like the parents that do this kind of thing with their kids are frustrated people that want to create a mini version of them that they can control.
725  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin in the last 5 years compare to now on: November 01, 2023, 02:40:46 PM
Bitcoin's price will continue to grow more in the coming years, remember that bitcoin's not yet fully adopted in terms of globally and I don't think that we're going to be ready for the price when that finally happens. Given that there's currently 2 prominent conflicts in the world right now (Ukraine vs Russia, Israel vs Palestine), we might see a slow but steady growth but when the time of peace comes and people are still alive all over the world, we might see bitcoin as a way to help those devastated by the war and if that ever happens, that can be a good spotlight for bitcoin if it helps the people.
726  Economy / Economics / Re: Us-Based Crypto Exchange Kraken to release significant data to IRS on: November 01, 2023, 01:26:33 PM
Too late for us to worry about that anyway because even if they don't do that, the US already has a data on you and all they have to know, you freely provide it to them already (driver's license, credit card, ITR and many other government documents you have to fill up) so this isn't really something new or scary anymore. Remember when Snowden leaked what NSA did? Most Americans didn't even bat an eye that their own government is spying on them so nothing to worry. The neat trick is we don't know that they control us already for a long time now.
Wow, you really did enumerate some scary stuff just to tell us that worrying about KYC is nothing more than a drop compared to the ocean that is the mass surveillance in US, I'm not too invested in learning all this although I know a thing or two about this stuff and given the way you articulated this stuff, I assume that it's a real scary stuff.

Given what @pinggoki just said, I don't feel as mad as I should be about Kraken releasing data to the IRS although I can see why it's still a problem, it's not like IRS purposefully taps in to this mass surveillance stuff to check the taxes and the incomes of the US citizens although I still don't like that Kraken caved in to IRS, I am sure they already know how much you owe them right?
727  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Will Putin's Alleged death boost the world's economy? on: November 01, 2023, 12:26:49 PM

But even if this was real, there being a "body double" means that nothing is supposed to change, doesn't it? For all we know, Putin's been dead for 10 years and we're now on the 3rd body double.
Your theory is so scary if I am being honest with you because that means that the Russian deep state is much stronger than we think they are and it's such a pretty scary thing that they're willing to keep up a facade just so we still be on our toes. But on the topic though, I think that his death will definitely be a net positive to the world's economy depending on his successor stance on the war that Putin has waged on Ukraine, if it's a total stop in the war then it's going to be a positive for the world and Russia as sanctions are going to be lifted and it's definitely a negative for Russia but a bit much worse to the world itself because the successor might be more unhinged than Putin when it comes to usage of nuclear weapon.
728  Other / Meta / Re: How to write a Ban Appeal. on: November 01, 2023, 10:18:18 AM

Probably the most apt reply in this whole thread, I don't see the whole point of doing an appeal given that most people that got banned really did have a legitimate reason for getting banned as @Upgrade00 has said but I can also understand why @KingsDen wants to help with the appeal creation, the motive probably stems from the fact that in a real justice system, even if you are guilty beyond reasonable doubt, you still have the option to appeal to the sentencing but given that this forum isn't the real world, I guess a ban hammer should be in a way an absolute thing.
729  Other / Meta / Re: [CLUB] The SpamBusters! Busting rule-breakers constantly. on: November 01, 2023, 09:27:35 AM
~
I can't help but laugh at the attempt, you know that the accused is trying hard to make his/her post noticed by many by bumping it and you can easily tell it because it's inorganic and generic post. One thing that's making me wonder about this stuff is why are they still doing this kind of stuff when we know that it's not going to be an effective thing because people will just ignore it? Can I help with this stuff? I want to know where these scummy stuff happens so I can drop in a comment about imploring them to stop using bumping services to bump their posts.
730  Other / Meta / Re: How Was This User Able to Buy 550 Merits At ones? on: October 31, 2023, 02:54:32 PM
as Solosanz mentioned, the 500 merits are airdropped, if you are curious where the user's posts went and why it is not recorded, they most likely deleted their posts before LoyceV started scraping the forum.
Wow, this is a piece of information that I didn't know like wow for real? You can delete your posts and all your record will also be removed including the activities? I thought the activity is a permanent mark and that it can't be removed. With the conclusion you've said, that probably meant that this person did technically bought 550 merits by buying an Hero Member account which in a sense that the seller didn't really have to spend 550 merits of their own to fulfill the agreement.
731  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: [Warning] Halloween giveaway scam is all over, protect your Bitcoin. on: October 31, 2023, 01:44:18 PM
If you're not busy looking around for freebies where it does not exist then one will never be a victim of a related scam on this, lately I've heard some many members of the forum also making request on this year Halloween to be marked in other for them to take an advantage in physhing for merit when they apply for the contest, same thing is fast going online on the internet, whereby people are promising to offer bitcoin as reward for the contest on any task given to mark this year Halloween, if we don't trust them, then we shouldn't apply for any except the ones trusted from the reputable members of this forum.
You can't really blame people, they want the free stuff and there are people out there that's really generous, it's not good that we blame them just because they want the free stuff, you're missing the point here which is the scammers taking advantage of people that just want to participate in a giveaway. Of course it's not like these people are blameless though, they need to be vigilant and always remember that an offer that you can easily get is probably a fishy offer.
732  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: LastPass hack - move your crypto assets to a more secure place right now! on: October 31, 2023, 10:46:34 AM
Such a disappointing product and service, I know that it's inevitable that breaches will happen but given that they've got breached so easily, it's just disappointing to me as I like the idea of password managers to help you in securing your accounts by having a diverse password without the worry of forgetting the access but it seems that things for me is going to change, you can't trust what they sell anymore, I guess I'm back to using pen and paper storage for my passwords. Christmas came early for these hackers with how much they've stolen from the users of LastPass.
733  Economy / Economics / Re: You can't meet all your needs/desires at once, even if you spend all your salary on: October 31, 2023, 10:01:51 AM
You've already said it OP, human needs are insatiable and I think that it's true. But don't misunderstand me though, yes it's true and it's not a bad thing because desire can be equated to necessity and necessity is the mother of inventions plus desire is helping the humanity advance as a species, our ceaseless desire to know everything and create something is what has kept our species alive for a 300,000 years and will continue to be the driving force for our survival. Also, desire and needs are the driving force of the economy because if a person doesn't desire any material then they don't have any motivation to be a cog in this capitalistic machinery that we've built to create products that we sell to other people that desire those products. Regarding the title of the thread, of course you can't get all your desires at once because desire has a price and most of the time it's not cheap.
734  Economy / Economics / Re: Recession? How to face It? on: October 31, 2023, 08:51:37 AM
Yeah income stream is very important. I have some gov. pensions . Some mining income. And lastly a signature campaign here.  I normally don’t do a signature but times are a bit hard so I needed more income.
You're one of the lucky few to have a lot of income streams so you can keep yourself afloat in a time where recession is imminent, a lot of Americans aren't as lucky as you are, I've watched the movie The Big Short and a lot of the Americans were homeless when the bubble popped and the recession started. I feel bad that not everyone has the means to make multiple income streams or has the opportunity because I do agree with you, that it's a good idea to have more income streams so the effects of recession is alleviated. I'm not from US so I can't really accurately say how to survive that but if I am right, there should be some kind of help that's going to be given to people that's affected like unemployment benefits or other stuff like that and so my tip based on what little that I know about the stuff in recession is for everyone feeling the effects to try and make sure that you take all the government help that you can get.
735  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Looking back at the past, one of those statements gained respect over time. on: October 31, 2023, 05:49:23 AM
However now scammers are using that success story to try to promote their shitcoins, and people believing they can capture the same success and make money with those coins take the risk of investing in those coins, not realizing the difference between bitcoin and those shitcoins is the same difference between heaven and earth.
Well, that's to be expected because people love success stories and they all dream to be part of one so the scammers know this and so they try their best at social engineering and make it like their shitcoins are going to be the next bitcoin that will change the lives of the people that's going to buy and potentially buy their shitcoins and it works because we're addicted to the Cinderella stories of crypto people and we are so scared of regret that we always want to jump on an opportunity hoping to get lucky even though we know at the back of our minds it's not going to be happening.
Well, we can't go back to the past and buy bitcoin at $1 anymore so now see the current price $34K and where it will be in the next 10 or 15 years, even if bitcoin grows 50% or less than its previous era still you can make ton of money and can tell such story to someone else.
No matter how much you sugarcoat it, people are still going to regret not buying bitcoin when the price was still at the time a measly dollar, plus you saying that won't dispel the fact that even if you buy bitcoin and HODL for a long time, you're not getting the value that the other people who bought at dollar per piece back then.
736  Economy / Services / Re: Instagram Account 151k Followers - Email Access - Blue Tick ☑️ - Price 45$ on: October 31, 2023, 04:47:03 AM
If this account is truly this endowed with such an adorning profile, why not convert it for ads and earn from it rather than sell it for Peanut.

One ad gig from a project will pay you 5x on the amount you're trying to sell it for. It can become a passive income for you by just posting ads.

Re-consider your decision to dispose the account
That's probably because it's full of bot followers which isn't an organic kind of Instagram account so it's not going to garner you real interaction. They do this kind of thing where they grow an instagram account and build a bot following that's going to make it gain some real followers albeit not enough to make organic engagements. And once it's out of their hands, it's going to be a useless account with thousands of followers on the people that's bought the sold account.

738  Other / Meta / Re: There Must be child Board With the Name of "Location" in local boards. on: October 30, 2023, 03:28:26 PM
You don't have your own local board yet, but you are thinking of having some childboards. The child board you suggested isn't necessary. By creating those childboards, you are dividing your people and your community into certain groups. Do you really want that? The best would be one board for Pakistan so that everyone can share their knowledge, their ideas, and their opinions in one place. My suggestion for you is to focus on getting a local board first.

Imagine if everyone thought of creating child board based on their location like usa, russia etc. Do you realize how many child board will there be if that were to happen? It will only cause unnecessary mess.
Unnecessary and scary, I don't want you people knowing my general location because you know what region/city where I'm at, that's too scary and not to mention that those child boards would definitely not be an active boards anyway as you get closer on a location, it's definitely going to be less and less user that will reply there but I get OP's plight, OP wants to connect with those that are close to the region that OP is in but someone has to think of the implications of that suggestion.
739  Other / Meta / Re: Solution to account seller? I think on: October 30, 2023, 02:40:44 PM
Are you kidding me? If you do that then your account will be tagged. One way to prevent buying and selling accounts is to prohibit it, or legalize it with a high minimum price. Or use KYC so that 1 person only has 1 account. However, this forum is an reedom forum by limiting it, we destroy freedom in this forum, the current system is good and nothing needs to be changed.
If you actually use your common sense, you can probably do it anonymously and create another account to post your investigations and it's not like you're using it to gain fame or infamy in the forum, you want to do it so account buyers and sellers are discouraged from doing so. KYC is not going to be a thing here, if it were then the doxing tags would be useless and invalidated.

I didn't expect this to get this much attention, I will try to reply when I can. Even forgot that I started this topic lmao.
740  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gambler avoiding friends after a big win. on: October 30, 2023, 01:49:16 PM
It's probably because that winner knows his friends real well that if the winner isn't avoiding them then that person will inevitably lose the money real fast because either they will ask for a treat from the wins or they would ask him to shoulder their incoming bets or would influence him to bet those wins hoping to strike the iron while it's hot. I don't know the whole story though, it could be that my guess is somewhat right or in the ballpark or that winner isn't really their friend and that amount of money just showed what he really is when it comes to his friends.
