741  Bitcoin / Legal / Re: UK - new FCA rules on advertising cryptoassets, effective today (8th Oct 2023) on: October 13, 2023, 01:20:44 AM
And there might be a way to bypass some of them, e.g. Binance partnered up with an FCA-registered entity and will be delegating all restricted activities to them.
Isn't that the intended goal of this new regulation? I see this as a cost-effective move for Binance since making a dedicated marketing firm in the UK is probably expensive for their needs. I'm pretty sure the government won't fine or sanction any exchange or business who do the same thing as Binance unless I misunderstand how the regulation works.
742  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: how many halvings have you witnessed? on: October 13, 2023, 12:56:42 AM
Once it ends, then expect prices of cryptocurrencies to skyrocket; take it as an advantage to invest either short or long-term depending on your goal.
Just to put a disclaimer here, while it is likely that the price will increase, there is no harm in preparing for the worst. For example, you should be prepared that a year after halving or so, the profit you expect doesn't come. Make sure you don't go all-in or take a loan or do something stupid like that just because people believe you'll get a 5x increase and so on. Basically, make sure you don't forget to do risk management regardless of how much money you want to invest.
743  Other / Meta / Re: Forum Search Do Not Work - Only Old Results - Admin Complete Fail And Sleep on: October 13, 2023, 12:20:36 AM
So forum search option in fact do not work due to admin fault and sleep. If the forum search engine is rate limited, it is also forum admin fault and nothing more.
Just so you know, there is an advanced search option where you can sort the results based on the newest one, relevancy, and so on. Granted it is probably not as accurate as other options available above. That being said, from a utility point of view upgrading the current forum is probably not the most beneficial since we're on the way to moving to the new software, CMIIW. At the end of the day, it is just a question of cost and benefits.
744  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: KRAKEN - SCAMMERS on: October 12, 2023, 01:56:18 AM
hope to solve your problem. Find it here.
Strangely it's on an external site, but I'm sure it's archived Kraken's original policy, I found it removed on the official site.
Which faqs are you referring to? The CAD deposit refund request? I don't think it will work on OP cases since Kraken explicitly told him to request a refund from his bank. If it is really an archived FAQs page, most of their explanation probably no longer applies. There should be an FAQs page on their support website anyway. CMIIW.
745  Economy / Service Announcements / Re: Cryptomarketing services are they always scams? on: October 12, 2023, 01:48:16 AM
You don't even tell us your full team. It is hard to trust a service that has no prior history or track record of its members.
It's crypto, and we are all anonymous, but see this profile: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=profile;u=131333. You have all links in there. I'm Max, and Wwzsocki is Emoneyabc; together we run Emoneymax.net.

I think his profile tells a lot. Look at his trust, activity, position, or number of merits.
I see. I did get an offer from Emoneyabc in the past for translation if I remember it correctly. Did you start this service with him or did he join you in the middle?

From how you manage this thread, I think starting an ANN thread on the Service Announcement board would be better. I don't think you can convince people that your service is not like other shilling services through here. From a business perspective I don't think you need to convince them to begin with, as long as you can find customers that are satisfied with your service. CMIIW.
746  Other / Archival / Re: ✅ [ANN] [banned mixer] | Bitcoin Mixer | Bitcoin Tumbler | Since 2019 ✴️✴️ on: October 12, 2023, 01:16:18 AM
I just visited the website without a VPN and got an IP-blocked message. Is it possible that the blocking is done based on the origin country instead of the IP range? It is surprising to see that my IP is blacklisted even though my ISP is quite popular and not the first choice for bots to attack other websites. I guess it doesn't really matter f most customers use the onion link to access the service, just feel like the restriction is quite strict with clearnet.
747  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: 🚨🚨 Attention Ordswap hacked (Don't connect wallet) on: October 12, 2023, 12:59:04 AM
I don't really know the cause of this and how are to trust even those wallet we used in storing our asset, don't you think one day we might wake up and noticed that our wallet has been swipe off with the rate at which hacking is going round as we are no longer safe with saving our funds in most of wallet.
As mentioned above, looks like it was a domain hack due to a faulty hosting service. But there are no further details so who knows what exactly happened. If you are a user who connects their wallet to smart contracts regularly, it is wise to always disconnect/disallow after you finish using the website/platform. You also need to make sure you don't visit a fake website or fake contracts. Phishing or faulty smart contracts are the major attack vectors, so you should be prepared to avoid any loss. If you don't do any of that, then the risk of losing your funds will be higher.
748  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Chess playing with it's potentials to enhance mental productiveness to trading. on: October 12, 2023, 12:50:33 AM
While I agree that mental games can give you benefits, why not learn by making small trades over time? One key skill that is hard to learn without doing any trading activity is emotional management and decision-making imo. I don't think you can learn that by playing chess or other games since the mental burden is different. It is almost impossible to replicate the emotional part of trading unless you trade in my opinion.
749  Other / Meta / Re: Reading / responding to other language boards to learn on: October 11, 2023, 01:14:15 AM
Visiting is fine but if you want to get involved in the discussion, do you think you should master their language instead of just translating from your language to the other person's local board language because every term, gist, and some vocabulary will have a different meaning?
It would seem strange because I have also found members from other local boards entering my local board in Indonesian, the language is even too stiff.
I think it comes back to your goal. If you just want to know what others are discussing right now, learning a new language is probably a tough thing to do. I'm interested in Japanese and Korean but I don't think making a new thread on the Japanese or Korean sub-boards is the best thing to do.

I also think that people who visit and make posts with Google Translate (but never explicitly said so) are quite annoying to some extent, but I don't mind if OP is interested in Indonesian and tries to make posts on the local board as long as he mentions that he's trying to learn the language.
750  Economy / Service Announcements / Re: Cryptomarketing services are they always scams? on: October 11, 2023, 12:46:11 AM
You don't even tell us your full team. It is hard to trust a service that has no prior history or track record of its members.

Based on my experience on this forum, I do know one or two marketing services available for crypto projects that are quite trustworthy to some extent. Most of them have one or two experienced/noteworthy users to provide some kind of guarantee that they don't accept any projects as long as they pay them a ton of money. If you don't have a similar thing like that, I doubt people will consider your service worth their time.
751  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Binance Founder CZ said that, Copy trading now live on Binance. on: October 11, 2023, 12:37:18 AM
I don't know much about copy trading, but the latest news that I hear about it is people losing their money because they follow some pseudo-influencer. Obviously this was driven by an unskilled person. and by people who wants to be rich over-night.
Are you referring to copy trade on some platforms, or just people following influencer calls on social media? If it is the latter, I wouldn't be surprised. Pump and dump is not new, and sadly a lot of people still fall for this trick due to fomo. If it is the former, then some blame lies on the follower since most platforms show the trader's track record. It is quite naive to think that the platform is wrong when they choose a risky trader. If the platform doesn't show any risk profile, then people should stop using them. If Binance doesn't have a feature like that, I don't think they will last long since people can blindly choose a trader without knowing how terrible their calls are.
752  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Recommended non KYC fiat on ramp(s) - "whitelisted" by tradfi banks on: October 11, 2023, 12:27:47 AM
Maybe you can describe more about what you need. Is it only to transfer crypto, buy crypto with fiat, and use credit cards with crypto without KYC? At first glance, it sounds like you're looking for a prepaid debit card provider that allows non-KYC users. What do you mean by tradfi by the way? Is it traditional finance? As far as my experience goes, my bank never blocked or questioned any crypto-related activities from a non-KYC crypto platform. So there might be a banking issue if every transaction is flagged by your banks regardless of what app/platform you use. CMIIW.
753  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: hyprmall.com - ecommerce using crypto on: October 10, 2023, 01:25:02 AM
3. When we go live we plan to use 6 to 8 confirmations and use estimatesmartfee to calculate the fee. We are still researching the best practices. If you have any advice on this it would be greatly appreciated. We also plan to take a percentage on every transaction (maybe 1% to 5%). We will add an informational page explaining this all.
Is there any reason why you set it that high? To prevent double-spending or something else? I second the suggestion to lower it since you don't use a second layer or something similar. I pay with crypto on many platforms and most of them are fine with 1 confirmation. As a buyer, waiting for 1 confirmation is long enough and sometimes can be tiring to do. If I need to wait for 6 confirmations before my order is accepted, I won't ever use your platform at all.
754  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: Questionnaire to help me start mining on: October 10, 2023, 01:13:27 AM
Basically we talk about $0.2, so we are far away from the $0.05 benchmark that you said. Guess I 'll have to wait...
Have you tried calculating your possible mining cost and profits with a tool like whattomine? It would help you calculate the exact numbers to help you decide how much you need to prepare to start a mining business. I do think that you need to think twice if you can't access cheap electricity.
755  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: How does the bitcoin mining industry work? on: October 10, 2023, 12:53:39 AM
Is it really that small? I'm sure you remember that in 2017 there was a boom of GPU mining and people were buying so many GPUs that Nvidia and some AMD graphics cards were not only out of stock everywhere but it had crazy prices too. I wanted to change my old GPU and buy a new one for gaming in 2017 and I simply couldn't let myself to pay thousands of dollars in a graphics card.
I think there is a difference between the altcoin mining market and the Bitcoin mining market. I also don't think that your experience applies exactly the same right now. I don't think mining is the key reason why GPU has been hard to buy in the last two years, not to mention other devices like PS5 and Xbox are also hard to buy until recently. It is not hard to imagine that GPU manufacturers fuel the rumor to increase their GPU prices without too much backlash. CMIIW.

Btw, if you compare the mining market size to the GPU market size, then some reports suggest that the number is hovering around $7 billion compared to $40 billion in 2023, which is quite a significant difference.
756  Bitcoin / Legal / Re: UK - new FCA rules on advertising cryptoassets, effective today (8th Oct 2023) on: October 10, 2023, 12:42:21 AM
Looks like there is an emphasis on making sure marketing businesses provide the necessary risk assessments for their customers, plus improving how they handle customers' feedback and communication channels[1]. If I'm not wrong, some of the rules or guidance have been published before this new rule came out[2]. CMIIW.

757  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What can happen next time due to a lack of proper knowledge about Bitcoin? on: October 10, 2023, 12:24:24 AM
3: Many developing or underdeveloped countries (especially those with low leverage) will consider cryptocurrency a curse rather than a blessing due to their lack of proper understanding of its importance.

4: I have seen among my acquaintances who still cannot fully trust the bank (banking is some kind of rigging or fraud) and therefore leave their valuable assets (gold or money) on their own instead of depositing them in the bank. For those who do not believe in banks, how exactly will they accept this currency system?
I believe this stems from the fact that you don't understand the condition of those countries, or you can't understand the context of their situation. For example, I never heard people in developing or undeveloped countries call Bitcoin a curse. Most of them believe it is an alternative to gaining wealth. While they can misunderstand how Bitcoin or crypto works in general, things can change easily in this day and age. In your second statement, why do you think people distrust the bank? Is it because they can't trust them to make sure their money won't be misused, or is there something else? I believe people who distrust banks would find crypto an exciting alternative.

759  Local / Marketplace (Bahasa Indonesia) / Re: CARA MEMBUAT AKUN JUALAN DI AMAZON on: October 09, 2023, 01:02:16 AM
