741  Economy / Lending / Re: 13 BTC loan, will repay 14.5 BTC on: February 08, 2012, 05:32:39 AM
It has passed 2/7/2012, and still no sight of return coins.
Here's his info (at least that's what he claims. I do verify that the number is his as I spoke to him on the phone):
Eric Hueber
3340 Patterson Road
New York, NY 10013
267-281-4934

OP, I suggest you pay up.
742  Other / CPU/GPU Bitcoin mining hardware / Re: 5870s with Eyefinity 209 at bens outlet on: February 07, 2012, 07:56:50 PM
they went up from $140
Fixed it for you Tongue

Edit: Nvm, the $140 ones were only 1GB.  These new ones are 2GB.

1GB and 2GB makes no diff for mining lol
they do make a diff. Namely, the 2GB would consume more power.

all, i am not trying to push a power button. this is not related to mining!
744  Economy / Services / Re: Looking for Arduino designer/programmer on: February 07, 2012, 04:04:43 AM
Can't it be an normal microchip?
You only need the code, or you want also some kind of PCB with all together?
When you mention servo, it's a servo like the ones used on the small hobby cars?
It can, but I'd rather it be arduino, i like open source, and have an interest in learning it later.
Need all PCB and parts pre-build.
Can be a servo, as long as it can push/release the button at a very precise time. Say 50ms precision.

Stay away from Kingwin and Rosewill.

Buy Cooler Master, Corsair, Seasonic, Enermax, Sparkle, or PC Power & Cooling.
Just because the other products branded by Kingwin and Rosewill are bad, doesn't mean ALL of their products are bad.
746  Other / CPU/GPU Bitcoin mining hardware / Using unpowered PCI-E 1x extender for 5970 possible? on: February 06, 2012, 08:49:36 PM
Is it possible to power a 5970 via just the 8+6PIN and not from the PCI-E slot? Such as using a un-powered PCI-E 1x extender. Would the 8+6PIN from the power supply provide enough power? I know it does for 5870, but not sure about 5970.
If it is possible for 5870, I am also assuming it would be possible with 7970.
Did some research, the 6pin can carry 75W, and the 8pin can carry 150W.
However, gauge 18 wire can handle way higher wattage than the specification of 150W.
So if one were to have a 5970 300W TDP card, it is theoretically possible to pull all 300 watt from the 6+8pin cables only.

Anyone have any experience?

Sold another one to cablepair, and he has paid for it.
748  Economy / Services / Looking for Arduino designer/programmer on: February 05, 2012, 06:17:09 AM
I have a simple project, preferably developed using arduino.
The thing will contain a numeric keypad to allow user to enter time in milliseconds.
The LCD will display the time.
User will press a buttion (say #) to tell it to start the count down.
When the count down starts, it will move a servo to one position. Once the countdown reaches zero, it will move the servo to another position.
This should be fairly simple, I simply don't have the knowledge and time needed to develop it.
PM me your price for such a project.
749  Other / CPU/GPU Bitcoin mining hardware / Re: Sapphire 5850 Fan Dead on: February 05, 2012, 04:36:58 AM
Remove top stick
Drill a hole in the top off center some
Add oil
Reapply sticker/tape
Thanks SlaveInDebt, Your tips worked,  Cheesy
I wish I had knew this before, (5 getto fan later)

Here's where I've drilled, (pic)
fill that small hole 3-4 time and spin the fan by hand in between.
(I did not have had to remove the heatsin to unplug/pull the wire)
Fan now work like a new.
That definitely worked!
Hard thing is knowing when to stop drilling.
I drill a bit, use a flash light, rotate the fan to see if anything inside is moving.
If you don't see anything, keep drilling, then repeat.
750  Bitcoin / Mining support / Re: cgminer 2.2.1, Win7 x64, 11.7 Driver, SDK2.5, hashing all errors, 1 BTC BOUNTY! on: February 04, 2012, 02:56:15 AM
i am going to move back to BAMT in the mean time.
Having 3 cards not hashing is just not right!
751  Bitcoin / Mining support / cgminer 2.2.1, Win7 x64, 11.7 Driver, SDK2.5, hashing all errors, 1 BTC BOUNTY! on: February 04, 2012, 02:23:36 AM
Win7 x64 fresh install, 11.7 driver, SDK 2.5.
Hashing with cgminer2.2.1. The shares output shows all HW errors

On the same machine, if I use 12.1 driver and the SDK that came with it, it hashes fine. But the hashrate is low with 12.1 driver and the newer SDK.
But if I remove the SDK, and use the older SDK 2.5, it would show error again.
Same machine and GPUs also hash fine using BAMT. So I am sure it is not a hardware problem.

GPU is 5850 with two 5870. I have tried with just the 5850, and the result is the same.
Screen flicks one time when cgminer is starting. This happens on both 12.1 driver and 11.7 driver. But in 12.1 driver, it hash just fine.
Any ideas? Offering 1 BTC bounty to whoever solves my problem!
752  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: FPGA development board "Icarus" - 3rd batch information. on: February 03, 2012, 10:12:48 PM
-Let's say that in theory, I have a motherboard with 8 USB ports and 4 PCI-Express slots. So, always in theory, I could plug 8 FGPA board and 4 GPU in that motherboard and they could all mine together, correct?
You can use USB hubs and additional USB controllers too.
In THEORY, you could have 127 USB devices per port. But again, that is just THEORY.
The speed will be so slow that hashing would probably stop.

757  Other / CPU/GPU Bitcoin mining hardware / Re: (4) 5970's on Win7 X64 Inconsistent on: January 31, 2012, 08:56:55 PM
how do you set up "vectors" and stuff like that on cgminer?
I usually use "VECTORS BFI_INT FASTLOOP=false AGGRESSION=13 WORKSIZE=256". But I have no idea how to put them when using cgminer.
758  Bitcoin / Mining software (miners) / Re: BAMT jumping between pools when 1st pool fails on: January 31, 2012, 01:53:10 AM
Get rid of the last / before comma and change to 120 or 90 instead of 60. Luck and pool connection can jump you over 60 seconds. What's the timeout set at in bamt.conf?
timeout is set to 180 (default) in bamt.conf
759  Bitcoin / Mining software (miners) / Re: BAMT jumping between pools when 1st pool fails on: January 31, 2012, 12:41:39 AM
hashrate is normal, around 300MH/s for me.
The syntax on the example file is
Code:
http://yourmom:thiswontwork@pool.bitclockers.com:8332/
http://yourmom:sogetyourown@pool2.bitclockers.com:8332/
http://yourmom:please@deepbit.net:8332/

Per the BAMT wiki page

So basically, if you want to mostly mine at the first pool in your file, but fail over to another pool if #1 is down, then try to go back to #1 every so often... put this in your pools file:

http://u:p@mymainpool.com http://u:p@mybackuppool.com,10,60

I have it set up as:
Code:
http://u:p@pool1.com:8332/
http://u:p@pool2.com:8332/,10,60
http://u:p@pool3.com:8332/,10,60
http://u:p@pool4.com:8332/,10,60

It was suppose to go to pool2, work 10 shares, check pool1. If pool1 still down, keep working on pool2. It should only drop down to pool3 if pool1 and pool2 are down.

However, my observation shows that when pool1 fails, it will go to pool2, work for 10 shares, switch to pool3, work for 10 shares, switch to pool4, work for 10 shares, switch to pool2, and the cycle goes on and on. Why is it dropping to pool3 even when pool2 is available?

Any ideas?
