7501  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What are the Similarities and Differences between Bitcoin and 'Bitcoin Trust'? on: December 20, 2021, 08:39:35 AM
these "trusts" are not bitcoin/crypto itself. but company shares/common stock

people are buying into the compay(trust), not a coin. buying shares of a company where the collateral within the "trust" is then btc.
again people are not buying bitcoin or crypto they are buying regular fiat shares of a company. something that wall street are used to handling and offering.

its done because wall street is not used to offering crypto direct and there are many things related to regulations that make it difficult to offer crypto direct and insure their investors using government investor protection insurance.

so by offering company shares where the companies assets/collateral is crypto. allows wall street to do what it does, while valuing the company at whatever the bitcoin price is multiplied by how many coins the company has.

its much like instead of a woman just getting gold from a man. she buys in/marries the man holding the gold. thus her wealth value is measured by the gold the man has secured in his vault, because now she owns.. him
she just has to work out a legal way to get the combination to take the gold out of the guys vault, if she ever wants to leave the man but keep the gold.
7502  Other / Off-topic / Re: First impressions on Craig Wright ( Satoshi Nakamoto ? ) on: December 20, 2021, 08:11:57 AM
The lawsuit had nothing to do with whether or not he was Satoshi, and he was ordered to pay $100 million to the Kleiman estate.

the lawsuit is about a company called W&K. set up in 2013. craig 'won' ownership of the company. has to 'pay' $100m to his own company for damages of taking patents out of the company.

this is just a 'paper' thing. where he as the company owner just needs to tell the judge a payment was made and final, and wont be disputed. the judge does not need to see a real bank transfer occur just that the receiver is happy.. the receiver being craig

The lawsuit was from the estate of Ira Kleiman seeking part of the one million BTC that CSW wrongly claimed he has access to. There are records on the internet that the addresses this idiot has claimed as his own (in papers filed in court), have publically sent "signed" messages saying that he is a fraud. There are no BTC that this scum controls.

the lawsuit had nothing to do with the BTC. the btc was not in contest/dispute. both sides agreed they both thought the company had the funds so it was not part of the debate or argument over ownership.
just the ownership of the company name was in dispute.

as for the signatures. to clarify to the topic creator that is wrongly pro-craig.
the signature craig showed in 2016 was not a freshly made signature from a unique message made in 2016, it was simply a copy and paste job of a pre-existing signature found in the blockchain in 2009. it proves nothing about craig nor anything about any 2016 proof session. anyone can copy existing transaction signatures.

however craig also had a list of thousands of public bitcoin addresses and pretended that having a list of public addresses meant it was proof of ownership of such. again anyone can list public addresses. its meaningless. craig could not sign new unique messages for these addresses. yet dozens of other people that do actually own the addresses did sign it to say that craig is a lying scammer.
7503  Other / Off-topic / Re: Thoughts on the Metaverse craze ( for concerts ) on: December 19, 2021, 05:04:22 PM
though this topic wants to center around 'concerts' .. meta doesnt see concerts as their main 'game'. just like people dont play fortnight for 'concerts'.

meta is more for social and retail. so yea dont think of meta as the place that will replace real world concerts where ticket prices are like $100+.. instead think of it like a youtube:red(youtube premium) where audiences pay a couple dollars for a premium livestream to watch whilst they explore the internet buying stuff. and see some product placement/billboards advertising stuff whilst they explore the VR marketplace inbetween playing premium games

7504  Other / Off-topic / Re: Thoughts on the Metaverse craze ( for concerts ) on: December 19, 2021, 02:01:04 PM
Let me make it easy for everyone. The Metaverse is there for people to make money.

All these social media platforms and media platforms and other interactive sites are competing for the same people.

also not forget that facebook will be selling virtual real estate within meta. such as billboards within the VR land. and "zones" (virtual land)
7505  Other / Off-topic / Re: Thoughts on the Metaverse craze ( for concerts ) on: December 19, 2021, 12:55:50 PM
think of it more like the bitcoin game dragon tales. but with more retail and less casino/betting. and more smooth rounded edge graphics
http://www.dragons.tl

a place where crypto is used to buy/gamble things, but the difference(what DT does not do) being eventually you can see product images in 3D and order them within 'meta' and have them physically delivered to real world home address.
as well as being the 'waiting area' for users to gateway into other company games

mixed in with some voice chat for social interactions.

..
as for the ariana granda thing. i agree. if they are able to live record ariana, render her in 3D and then .. pixelate her into crappy cartoon form.. maybe meta will skip the cartoonisation and just live stream a realistic 3d render in the future
7506  Other / Politics & Society / Re: In a Democracy should the people have the right to kill their leaders? on: December 19, 2021, 09:33:27 AM
in a democracy. there is no need to kill.

in a tyranical authoritarian system, yea the leader should be shot if he aint willing to leave voluntarily

I guess for the second scenario you mentioned an example would be al-Gaddafi. The people killed him and given that he reigned over Libya for over thirty years suggests that he probably would have never stepped down without the revolution (that in the end didn't change much to date). Hard to tell when and if death is justified, but I guess everyone would agree that it is essentially pointless to let people like Hitler have a fair hearing in front of a court.

when a tyranical authoritarian leader is leader. even a court within his realm wont work. because he owns the court system too.

obviously if he steps down voluntarily. then yes arrest him and send him to interpol and detain/charge him under international laws and court system outside of his homeland.

take Saddam Hussein. US invaded iraq in march 2003 and saddam ran away, basically losing his leadership by going into hiding.
months later when being found, he was arrested and imprisoned by the US
then later in 2004 passed back to iraq when the US thought that iraq had a new more stable government..
..but what if iraq didnt have a new government, where by the US didnt help in the initial capture and imprisonment or the later political change, whereby the new government didnt leaned more towards western policy.. he may not have been executed
after all while in US custody it was complete silence. but when in iraq custody he was publishing propaganda

this is why in the UK if you live in one town you are usually taken to a court in another county/town to be judged by individuals without personal bias/local affiliation to the person being prosecuted
7507  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Is the World in the Beginning Stages of World War 3? Are you #prepped? on: December 19, 2021, 09:19:02 AM
and on the subject of pandemic.
the lockdowns have proved that imports/exports have caused supply problems, access to goods and services at local retail problems. so instead of living a empty fridge, but daily snack/fast food life style.. atleast try to keep atleast a weeks worth, preferably a months worth of tinned food and groceries in your kitchen cupboards and freezers.

atleast if anything happened, you have supplies to live in your own home if there was any reason why you couldnt get out for a few days

oh and have a full tank of fuel. there are many people that prefer to wait for the E (empty) light to flash and then only put in a couple litres to get them through the day.. try keeping a full tank where you then only need to top up by a few litres a day.. it ends up costing the same daily cost to add the same few litres, but then you have excess for the 'just in case' situations you cant predict.

its just common sense stuff
7508  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Feminism in the society on: December 19, 2021, 08:58:13 AM
the funniest things about groups like feminists, LGBTQ and even BLM is that by forming a group they are actually labelling themselves as separate and dividing themselves away from being equal by giving themselves a label that is literally saying they are different..

instead of trying to join white straight males to say that ALL children should be educated, instead of saying ALL people should be allowed to love who they like, instead of saying ALL races should be equal. they put labels on themselves to show they are different, unique, separate. which is then causing more tension and inequality.

this has been proven by those groups then having the extremists that want a non-male, or a non white or non straight world. which then becomes counter intuitive and makes people listen to them alot less.

i get it they feel like they are being heard and so want the attention to get their pleas listened to about being treated equal. but they need to realise that forming a separate group which the polar opposites of their group are not allowed become their flaw in their campaign that gets them ignored the most.
..
i know it has been said that politics is 'the old white biggots club' but they wont beat the old archetypes by forming new excluding archetype clubs

..
the LGBTQ group did recently add on an extra A to LGBTQQIP2SAA to have 'ally' for someone thats not lgbtq but supports them. so they atleast started noticing they were not inclusive.. but the fact remains. by pigeon holing and labelling things that are unique/different. is not really treating people the same/equal

such as having all the efforts of centuries of politics to form laws about human rights... and then some label group saying
"im not human, im my own unique vessel that goes by the pronouns helicopter, chopper, swirly whirly bird" where they now want to fight to have "human" removed from human rights laws.. just causes more issues and ignorance, avoidance, exclusion and division of such people.

im open minded and think all people should be able to love who they like, learn what they like, work where they like, train to be whatever they want and such.. but the whole labelling thing, the separate club thing.. just makes me want to listen less to those types that want to separate themselves from humanity
7509  Other / Politics & Society / Re: General Milley apparently committed treason on: December 19, 2021, 02:47:21 AM
According to a report, General Mark Milley committed treason when he allegedly informed China that he would inform them if the US was going to attack China prior to the November 2020 election.

funny part is. if the U.S had to attack china..
..by international law, the same general would have to inform china first.
research declaration of war

Regardless of your opinion on the War on Terror, and the War in Afghanistan, I think it is difficult to argue that the way the exit from Afghanistan was handled was anything less than treason. There was the question as to which members of the Biden administration (besides Biden) had betrayed their country.

funny part is. trump signed the executive order to withdraw in a certain time, also trump signed to say that the taliban could and should take over once US troops leave.

so its trumps fault, not biden.
trump set the rules, biden was left with the mess and aftermath

They're all going to talk first before striking each other. Yes, I think they did create a law for that just like how they banned land mines in war or the law of the Geneva convention. War needs negotiating first before they strike, just as how Putin did lately to US which they created a law not to extend NATO converting Ukraine to be part of it.  Wars are to be planned like where the battlefield will be and right now there are just two, the South China sea or the Crimea Black Sea.

This is the assassination of Gen. Milley's character through the media. If it were a journalist like Assange who exposed this, there will be attempts to extradite him as well.

yep it was not treason. it was more like trump wanted to be the TV face that makes official announcements. and trump didnt realise that the military have their own international laws they have to follow outside of trumps administration. so trump had a pitty party when he realised he is not the top guy that declares war.. if only he knew more about the way things worked.

as for the US nato ukraine thing.
although it means the US/UK cant jump in and fight along side ukraine against russia.(US on the offensive: no)
the UK/US can defend and 'peace keep' with ukraine against russia under the UN.(US on the defense: yes)
basically defense instead of offense.
7510  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Is the World in the Beginning Stages of World War 3? Are you #prepped? on: December 19, 2021, 02:35:52 AM

but i do find it funny that you think that a nuke is 100% genocide scenario. where no where is safe and everyone will be dead, no option.

seems science, history and math has not gone too much into your thinking

yes the old advice of "if a nuke is targetting your city, hide under a table". is meaningless. but if your closest city is being targetted but you live 50miles+ away, so evacuate the city and go home. can help

when you realise in the past SEVERAL nuclear events have happened, in war, in tests, and in power plant malfunctions. and yet no continent wide "nuclear winter" caused genocide level death. in many cases it was limited to small area's. the marshal island testing site was so small they actually were able to put a 'concrete dome' over top of part of the island to contain the radiation

countries do not have enough nuclear yield to take out all cities, either as a continent wide genocide level single bomb or as multiple missile in their thousands for 1 per city. so they will choose best targets.

Seems common sense has not gone too much into your thinking either.

Nuclear winters are a real concept and a real consequence to nuclear proliferation. If you'll recall to the Cold War, mutual destruction was the only thing keeping the Americans and Russians from deploying the nukes. You surely don't think either country would just stop at one, correct?

Consider that there is a difference between a nuclear test, and nuclear attack. A nuclear test stops at one deployment. Unfortunately, an attack would not, especially when there are nuclear weapons on both sides of the war.

So yes, very pointless to prep. Good luck trying to survive a nuclear attack.

seems you dont understand things..
you say the "concept".

and then you imagine it being full US territory destruction and entire 320million US population death... as your 'concept'
you first flaw is using the cold war example to explain nuclear winter. it was funny because there was no actual nuclear winter. well more precicely no actual atomic war.. no actual cuban "boom, they all dead", so no nuclear winder fallout after..
so no proof of actual damage caused. to prove YOUR "concept"

the concept of the cold war was project fear. fear of the unknown. not knowing how many nukes or where the nukes would land. it was never about full america genocide. it was about the unknown damage. to unknown targets within US territory

secondly it seems you did not look into my hints about the marshal islands or fukushima or chernobyl

if them multiple nuclear incidents were as you propose guaranteed to be country wide genocide nuclear winters.. then how come the world is not extinct already..
heck the marshal islands(bikini) done 26 nuclear tests.. that compounding amount of radiation would have turned the moon to ice if your theory was true

common sense reveals that the amount of destruction is not continent wide nor genocide level event. and instead more confined to smaller area's
fukushima
hiroshima
marshal islands(bikini)
chernobyl

look them up.
oh spoiler..
japan, china, russia and the pacific/oceania still exist, no genocide nation wide population deaths occured

but hey, if you want to ignore actual evidence of actual atomic damage and instead spend more time making posts of your "fears" of destruction based on historic "fears" of destruction..well. you continue to not understand what the real possibilities are, and thus not be able to 'prep' effectively. so yea just sit where you are and expect to die, not due to any nuclear winter. but just you lack of wanting to live and prepare for eating and drinking daily because you want to remain sat there afraid, waiting for winter
7511  Other / Politics & Society / Re: General Milley apparently committed treason on: December 19, 2021, 02:06:41 AM
It is possible to attack or even invade another country without declaring war. Both Iraq wars and the war on Afghanistan were not preceded by a formal declaration of war. It is also sometimes necessary to attack in response to an attack against your homeland.

IMO, Milly was basically inviting a preemptive strike by China against the US.
....
Trump had a goal to leave Afghanistan within a certain timeframe. Trump was not going to leave Afghanistan without the conditions in Afghanistan being appropriate.

funny part is when US/UK invaded both iraq and afghanistan.. it was declared.
after 9-11, i remember bush clearly saying about sending the troops in. .. and then the troops moved in.

why. because then it makes it a legal war. as oppose to an illegal war
no warning is an illegal war.
its why when china spot america ships just outside the china territory line in the ocean and if they see a ship cross it without declaring their intentions, china see that as an illegal violation of peace treaties and international law. china could treat that as an 'act of war' to allow china to legally then declare war on the US. so the US dont cross the border for no reason. unless they inform china first.

as for trump.. it wasnt an opinion or an idea.. he actually signed an executive order to withdraw from afghanistan. the order included allowing the taliban to take over to avoid al-queda taking over. that was his condition.

please try doing some research, its not that difficult.

if your wiling to spend multiple posting time to argue stuff you heard on fox news. atleast turn off your TV and use that time to research the bits you missed in the first post
7512  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Concerns on new covid variants. on: December 19, 2021, 12:12:53 AM
None of these geniuses want to ask the real questions -- where is the data that this variant is anymore lethal than previous variants. The answer is that data is nonexistent.

the evidence is there. but ignorance to avoid looking is the flaw of the people that ask fro it but refrain from looking for it. thus pretend it doesnt exist because they failed to look and so didnt see anything.

here is the thing. there are many many more variants then you think. there are not just the 4 main ones alpha beta delta omicron.. there are LOADS in between. each being identified at the rna sequence level. each compared to others to see the differences.
scientists dont shout "jackpot" every time they see a new variant. they only start getting excited and fidgety when there are variants that differ significantly from previous ones of previous significance.

you can find hundreds of reports on the sequence and the isolation methods including contact details of those involved that can explain more.

seems gyft has been brainwashed into the same conspiracy script badecker has been pushing for the last year and a half.

if gyft really thinks there is no 'proof' of viruses and no proof of variants of significance. thus thinking there should be no need to aire on the side of caution. then dannnngggg! gyft has fallen deep down the idiot hole
7513  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Why we are dangerously close to complete, unstoppable bank collapse. on: December 18, 2021, 10:05:05 PM
if you read the news over the last 14 years, of all the companies that dip into the pension posts to try keeping the company afloat at the last crisis, leaving the pension pot at a deficit to what it should have accumulated. you will see more of the problem

then if you look at all the 1980's pension contracts promising 'locks' where people get a pension equivalent to their final 3 year salary before retirement. even if they didnt set aside enough income for the first 37 years of employment due to them being on lower pay. you see more of the problem

when you then see the 1980's pension contracts basing estimates of what should be put in on the retirement age of 62 and average life expectancy of 72..(10 year retirement average) yet these days its 65retire and 85 life expectancy(20 years) you see more of the problem

then when you see that those that only put in enough for the 10 year plan, but then at retirement take out a lump sum equivalent to a 20year living cost. then leaves more empty holes which cant be filled for the ones that retire next.

yes some part of pension schemes are to have the yearly income of the young paying the yearly income of the old. that same year. but when people are taking out 20 years worth in a single year. it unbalances the books. and when companies syphon billions(equivalent to thousands of employees) that leaves the bigger holes in the books

there is only so many times they can rob peter to pay paul to try delaying the inevitable

you just need to google 'pension deficit' and see the thousands of results of company syphoning and bad management and badly calculated plans from the 1980's that cant be met now that those people are reaching 65
7514  Other / Off-topic / Re: First impressions on Craig Wright ( Satoshi Nakamoto ? ) on: December 18, 2021, 09:37:21 PM
Wow. Some of the comments here! It seems some of the nay sayers are mostly basing their views on gossip and internet rumors.

sorry but YOU are basing it on internet rumours.
everyone else has read court documents, contacted the universities, his ex employers. and looked at the paper source facts. not the media attention clickbait CSW and his friends self created

seems you are now stuck in your own bubble of trying to find confirmation bias. where you only want to hear things that confirm your (false) opinion you have found yourself having.

if you were truly open minded. read the actual court documents not the media spin wrote by craigs friends.
contact craigs university and realise he didnt earn his Dr title at/pre-the millennium, but after 2016 by paying a scholar to ghost write his coursework for him.

if you truly had a open mind you will take the hints we are giving you and you would follow them up, if you remain with confirmation bias you will find yourself stuck amongst the liars and scammy people

There's another guy... Roger Ver "the Bitcoin Jesus", who claims that Bitcoin Cash is the real deal because it can actually be used for payments. So it seems both Bitcoin SV and Bitcoin Cash

well atleast you recognise they are talking about altcoins. where by craig has BSV.
so kudos for you for atleast admitting that craigs coin is an altcoin and not bitcoin...
.. now dont try and back track. you admitted it, so stick with that admission and accept that deep down you know craig is an altcoiner trying to play main coiner
7515  Other / Off-topic / Re: First impressions on Craig Wright ( Satoshi Nakamoto ? ) on: December 18, 2021, 04:20:49 PM
With a background in Mathematics, Computer Science, Economics and Law, it's hard to imagine a more qualified individual

noob account going pro-craig.. makes me laugh

though claiming to be Dr. Craig for decades he only completed his first doctorate in 2017, yes 4 years ago
yep he has been faking his education for decades

maybe try do do some research and realise:
he has been running scams for years. many many scams
he didnt even get involved in bitcoin until 2013
then tried faking he started in 2011 for tax purposes. and then when caught. tried faking he invented it in 2008 to evade penalties. in both cases the tax office didnt take his word for it

he has no good coding skills and instead hires others to code for him. aswell as hires others to write his patents and education material

he loves to talk about the theory of bitcoin but cannot even remember basic coding parts of what makes bitcoin, bitcoin.

..
maybe its best to report this topic to be thrown in the trash along with the other silly noob accounts that try to pretend craig is important.. because, he is not important, nor satoshi

7516  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Samuel Dobson: time to leave as a maintainer of Bitcoin Core. on: December 17, 2021, 11:57:09 PM
while some speculate that devs are poor and voluntary and leave due to financial issues. truth is dobson was funded. he had a wealthy sponsor.

most devs pull out when they receive their golden payday thank you payment for aiding in activating a feature the sponsor wanted seen in the code.
and now taproot is done/activated, many devs have completed their favours

and so the dev decides its time to retire rich. either hoard for later, or buy a lambo, get a girl, settle down and enjoy life

sponsors usually dont just pay devs without the devs doing something that can help the sponsors business.

coca-cola doesnt sponsor the olympics out of the goodness of their heart. they get good media coverage of their adverts and get monopoly of what drinks are served at the venue. thus they get returns on their investment

so godluck to dobson in his future ventures, and hope he can use his PHD for greater things in the future, but i dont see him as a charity case needing funding due to any pleas of poverty
7517  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Btc hodlers vs short time traders on: December 17, 2021, 11:28:41 PM
Sorry but hodlers who buy with dca method are the winners in this game.
Dollar cost average is by far one of the best methods many dont like it as they dont have patience.
We the people want to see results always too fast if not we not interested only few the handful can really do the buy the dips combined mixed with dca style buying.
I agree with you that everyone who holds and does the DCA will keep up in this market and are the winners. But the traders are also winning if they're winning their trades.
There's not that much difference from them and the other if they're also winning with what they do. As much as we want to see, everyone must be a winner with their own strategy that they think will make them that far.

most traders want to accumulate too. they jsut have different strategies to accumulate long term.

DCA is not about having patience. its just having a regular payment plan, almost on auto pilot. where you just set it and forget it. much like setting up paying into a savings account or a pension plan. it just moves money once a month (and autobuys at the price at deposit). its not some tricky thing or some complex thing that requires will-power and restraint.

the issue with DCA is the lack of control of the price, because its auto pilot to just buy when you deposit, you could end up buying at the ATH for the month, missing loads of oppertunities to have bough cheaper

traders can take better oppertunities and.. if they dont buy in during the first 27 days of the month cheaper. they still can spill their load on day 28 and buy at the "whatever" price. because thats the flaw in DCA. the "buy at whatever"/just buy regular theory

so if you want to maximise your potential. deposit at start of month. and set it to buy at end of the month if funds havnt already bought during the month. because buying coins each month still conforms to DCA because there is no rule that makes it a crime to not buy on the day of deposit. then with more control over oppertunities during a month, you have time..  rather then the theory of "just buy at deposit, dont care about price"

that way you have all that time in between to make better decisions.. and if still cant decide, oh well DCA it on day 28th day. and repeat each month. to still be DCA
7518  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Btc hodlers vs short time traders on: December 17, 2021, 09:02:39 PM
DCA is game play.. a campaign being pushed

if influencers can get enough of the community to change from random lump sums and instead regular drips, then the hope is it can stabilise the price.

but most pushing for DCA seem to also push 'dont worry about price, dont try to buy the dip'. losing people many opportunities to maximise a better average

sorry but not everyone is going to DCA so dont expect volatility to change.
its like asking everyone to be hygienic and respect personal space, hoping it stops a virus spreading.. didnt work
7519  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Scientific analysis on the contribution of lost Bitcoin to holders on: December 16, 2021, 02:58:22 PM
market price is NOT determined on the near 19mill coins.
market price is NOT determined on the near 19mill coins minus any coins lost.

market price IS determined on few hundred thousand coins sat inside exchanges on an exchanges active order book.

more precisely the 0.xx coin market order that is active at the top of the spread determines the price in that second.

'supply' is about whats deposited in an exchange. not the entire near 19mill coins
it doesnt matter if all near 19mill coins have accessible privkeys for their owners to use or only 2mill coins do.
what matters and what affects the market price are the coins held by the exchanges. and the market order book amounts
7520  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: If I had bought bitcoin 10 years ago, I would have been a millionaire: Not true on: December 16, 2021, 02:50:27 PM
If some rich or middle class person invested $1,000 or $10,000 into BTC early, they had no reason to liquidate at 2x profit, because they didn't need those money anytime soon and could afford to risk and wait more. I won't be surprised if that's how many of the current whales were made - they kept hodling because they could afford to lose their investment.

nah. my experience was in 2012 i done a bit of mining. btc and ltc. and in 2012 there were many arbitrage opertunities on the now defunct btc-e exchange to flip the coins in circles to get profits and grow my hoard.

my expense/investment was disposable middle income like instead of buying pizza/take-out food, id buy a couple btc here and there(along side the gains from trading coins). after all if your going to buy fast food, that money just becomes a toilet flush the next day, so no actual loss in investing these amounts instead.

as the drama of MTGOX arrived i decided to lay off from trading my growing hoard and just hid it away out of mind out of sight. where by id only play with like 0.1% of hoard and grow that as 'play money' and add it to my pile once it reached a certain amount.

gradually i just stopped looking at my hoard, i wasnt gonna move it any time soon so there is no need to watch it regular.

to me now, even though i could value it against a dollar amount and crap my pants like someone winning the lotto by finally realising the wealth. but instead even now 9 years on. i still think of it as my non-toilet flushed investment
