761  Local / Marketplace (Bahasa Indonesia) / Re: Semakin Maraknya Penjualan kartu ATM dan Rekening Bank on: October 09, 2023, 12:29:10 AM

762  Local / Bahasa Indonesia (Indonesian) / Re: [panduan] Cara Memasang Ekstensi BPIP.ORG di Browser Kiwi on: October 09, 2023, 12:13:23 AM
CMIIW.
763  Bitcoin / Legal / Re: French member of cyber group pleads guilty to $6 million in data theft damages on: October 06, 2023, 01:22:27 AM
are he going to serve in US jail?
I think so. He got caught in another country and then got extradited to the US, likely because most of these crimes are targeted towards US companies. I don't think other countries would try too hard to jail him locally, especially if they don't get some benefits at all.
764  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: Seed Backup Solutions, compared feature by feature on: October 06, 2023, 01:07:04 AM
When mixin safe was hacked it gave me a re-assurance of my belief.
To be fair, what he refers to is quite different from what Mixin did afaik. While both of them are online storage solutions, one of them involves a third party that manages your security directly. That being said, it is definitely a bad idea that people would rely on some online/third-party solution to secure their data. What OP did is definitely more helpful compared to that.
765  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Bank-free Bitcoin Mining on: October 06, 2023, 12:49:27 AM
I have no problem with people doing marketing for one or two projects, but if they market it with some misleading statements then it can be problematic. I doubt what OP said is really true, considering his post history and track record. OP, you should change how you advertise your projects unless you want to be recognized as spammers.

About the project you promote, at the very least give us details on how you do it and how it compares to a similar project. Personally, I don't see the benefit of instant payment with crypto if in the end they just convert it into fiat. If anything, it would add extra fees. CMIIW.

We are in the same country, can you access all Clearnet domains without a VPN?
Previously I also received an IP blocking warning, but after a few weeks, access was possible again.
Yes, I can do that, but that is probably because my IP uses a static IP most of the time so I wouldn't be surprised if somebody else got blocked because somebody abused the IP. I would suggest people use ToR anyway since your goal is to protect your privacy in the first place unless you don't want to mix and just want to check how the web works.
767  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Next-GenTrading Platforms: The Ultimate of DEX and CEX on: October 06, 2023, 12:09:09 AM
Banks cant do it, and banks really cant bear the pressure of the establishment and state policies, But CEXs can as they offer their services worldwide so they don't accept much pressure from the state if a state is enforcing them with their terms they can simply quit their service there but Banks cant quit they will compromise as their Bussnies domain is the state specifically with some exceptions but Banks really cant, giving benefit of the doubt if they can why they are not doing so.
I'm pretty sure some banks also quite servicing one or two countries when the regulations are no longer friendly to them. Especially if they are not based in that country, to begin with. While it is harder for them to completely move from one country to another, I'm pretty sure regulation is the key reason for that. I would not be surprised if exchanges will also have the same problem sooner or later.

At the end of the day, moving to a hybrid platform won't remove the risk that the platform will control your funds. I believe if security and control are your priority, any kind of CEX or hybrid CEX is not an ideal choice.
768  Economy / Economics / Re: Women are more economical than men. on: October 05, 2023, 12:59:55 AM
men are used to spending money already and because of being used to it, they can find it hard to be as economical as women can be.
So what you mean by "economical" is the ability to control the urge to buy things? If that's the case, my experience is quite the opposite. You probably need to do a thorough research if you want to draw a conclusion. Basing it on one or two cases is way too small to make a judgment. Even though you can argue that traditionally women control their household spending, I don't think that applies to modern societies.
769  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: Seed Backup Solutions, compared feature by feature on: October 05, 2023, 12:50:24 AM
It will take ages to brute force a good password while there is no other way to open a crypto container.
I think it is quite naive to assume that your security protection will never be broken, especially as far as sending out a public link and encouraging people to hack it. Who knows, people might use other means to get your funds or employ tactics. There is a reason why people suggest offline backups if you want to protect your money.
770  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: Transactions in mempool fell off a clif? on: October 05, 2023, 12:39:11 AM
If you take a look at the all-time mining history, the spike in transactions followed by a significant decrease is not surprising.

I second the opinion that the recent one is affected by the BRC tokens, but it is possible that the BTC price movement also affects it to some extent. I don't think you need to be worried about it as of now, considering people still mine even before BRC tokens were a thing. CMIIW.
771  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: New Decentralized Use Cases For BTC on: October 05, 2023, 12:16:56 AM
A progressive conversation that is worth a listen for anyone curious about future use cases for BTC.
If it is just a layer that chain or send hashed data to the Bitcoin blockchain, I don't think it is a progressive thing. Not to mention there are tons of alternatives for people who are looking for decentralized exchange, financing, and so on. If I'm not wrong, projects that focus on lending with BTC also exist without touching BTC at all.

Maybe this is too early to judge, but I feel like this will just end up as one of those things that gets forgotten with time.
772  Bitcoin / Legal / Re: Local bitcoin exchange KYC tax is dead/exempt now? on: October 05, 2023, 12:05:46 AM
The entire point of this post is asking what happens to KYC when the business goes bust and there is no employees and if they delete accounts do they delete KYC information. Alot of exchanges going bust and I'm curious
I'm not sure what exactly happens in other countries, but I have a suspicion that defunct business in my country likely sold their data to other parties. My phone number which was never used in other businesses suddenly got spammed by a lot of people. I'm pretty sure crypto businesses are more aggressive with it.
773  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: [Warning]: Crypto firm Nansen ask users to reset their password on: October 04, 2023, 01:24:23 AM
And if I'm not not mistaken, it was a practice by some crypto exchanges as well. They hired a 3rd party to handle their KYC so that they wouldn't have the burden to do that everytime.
It is unfortunate that things like this become the norm. On the other hand, I guess we can't blame them if the cost of doing everything on their own is too high. It would be cool if stuff like this became transparent, although it doesn't change much how people should approach service like this.

At the very least this should increase awareness that people should always use different passwords for each service that they use. They should also use an open-source password manager instead of a centralized service like LastPass.
774  Other / Archival / Re: ✅ [ANN] [banned mixer] | Bitcoin Mixer | Bitcoin Tumbler | Since 2019 ✴️✴️ on: October 04, 2023, 12:40:54 AM
As Coinomize suggests, use Domain Onion via Tor Browser, it will be more secure than using a free VPN or another way can also change to Google DNS 1.1.1.1
If I'm not wrong, 1.1.1.1 is a Cloudflare product and not a Google product. You might be referring to 8.8.8.8 instead. It also doesn't solve the problem of IP blocking since it just encrypts your DNS request afaik.
775  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: trading purely based on luck. on: October 04, 2023, 12:34:45 AM
Your experiment is quite similar to the monkey-based experiment done by Buffet which is quite popular (IIRC). Basically, he based his trading on where his monkey shot a dart on a wall. But this experiment is quite flawed imo since the sample is just too small. CMIIW.

You can argue that it shows how managing or even removing your emotions can help you make more profits, but it doesn't mean you should flip a coin every time you trade without doing any analysis.
776  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: scam alert on: October 04, 2023, 12:20:34 AM
Did you see the thread he got scammed? One dude was selling 100$ worth cloud space for 9$s. How on earth can he do that, didn't OP think about that; that's not even trying to scam. The dude just asked for donations in the thread imo, who believes in that donated money to him sadly.
I've tried to check the accused scammer post but it doesn't show up. It is probably deleted already, either by the mod or himself. If you have an archive for that you can post it here to help OP's case.

It is unfortunate that OP didn't do it in the first place. Kinda hard to verify if there's nothing to begin with.
777  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Arbitrage trading on: October 04, 2023, 12:02:06 AM
Moreover, now Bot Arbit is also equipped with AI assistance so that it is faster and smarter.
But until now I still haven't tried using bots for Arbit trading.
Is it a new tech? As far as I can remember, I've seen similar features years or months ago. Probably not as complicated as using a ChatGPT but it uses AI to some extent. What new bots are using advanced AI that you know of?
778  Economy / Service Announcements / Re: We Pay APP as Launch in Google Store on: October 03, 2023, 01:16:40 AM
Hi there and thank you to take your time to check the website.
We are in Beta Test and after your post I have updated the numbers.
Thank you for the support
Which beta test are you referring to? Are you saying that the website is still in beta hence why it doesn't grab data from Playstore accordingly? I checked just now and it seems the download numbers are more or less believable compared to before. Not sure how to check the others though. At least it is not as sketchy as before. It still doesn't give me any confidence though. Just my 2 cents.
779  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: The effect of bitcoin halving on bitcoin mining. on: October 03, 2023, 01:06:18 AM
After the halving, large miners will be forced to update their equipment fleet in order to earn profit for the next 4 years.
What do you mean by forced to update? If they can still make a profit wouldn't they continue to use the hardware for some time? I don't understand the urgency to upgrade the RIG if everything happens as you predicted. Not to mention new hardware profitability is not a guarantee. CMIIW.
780  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin Hacks a double edged sword on: October 03, 2023, 12:51:23 AM
so is going back to the basics of running a company suppose to be applied to Bitcoin/crypto companies??
I'm not even sure what basic we can refer to. If we're talking about security, some businesses also practice terrible security outside of crypto. Not saying we should compare them and say which one is better though, since both of them are wrong.

I guess we can say that with crypto business abuse is easier compared to traditional business since the owner can own multiple keys. Then again it can be prevented if the company is smart. At the end of the day, it depends on the intent of the owner itself whether they want to run an honest business or just a scam, plus whether they can provide transparency or not.

I do believe that the market will eventually become mature and customers become smart enough to manage their risk properly.
