761  Economy / Economics / Re: The impact of war on global economy. on: October 13, 2023, 03:40:41 PM
There's no winner in this war. Or maybe there's one, the arms dealer.  Cheesy

All of it will be affected and there's no question about it. It's just a matter of time before they will feel it and we will too because they will try to take back whatever is lost and a part of that is their economy so price hikes will come and every consumer will be in trouble on how they will budget their salaries afterward.
We already felt the sudden oil price hike because of the sanction and it hurts a lot that many car owners decided to just use alternatives like riding a bike to work. I can say that because I see many bikers now here in my place and it became a sport to them because of its incentives as a way to exercise.
Somehow, the war has also done something a little good to the perspective of people about saving money.
That is true. There is no real winner when it comes to war as there are always prices to pay, and by that what I mean is that each of us (even those who are not directly affected by it) will feel the effects of war soon enough. In order for a country to get back up and return to how it used to be there will be repercussions. Even the arms dealers will soon feel the negative effects of war despite claiming that they are the ones who will be rained on by the good advantages brought by war because at the end of the day, they will also have to purchase stuff, have access to transportation, communication, and build relations-- all that were directly affected by war.
762  Economy / Economics / Re: Women are more economical than men. on: October 13, 2023, 02:57:36 PM
Before answering this question, I will like to ask some few vital questions, as follows;
1. Who the children school fees and house rent? Men or Women... Men, right?
2. Who provides food for the family?.. Men, right?
3. Who pays for most of the major bills in the family?.. Men, right?
So if all these are been done by men, then how do you expect him to be economical when he has to pay for school fees, house rent, provide food for the family and pay major bills. And that doesn't mean I disagree with the fact, as women are created to be caregiver and home builder/manager.

Surely, You haven't seen a family where women earn most of their income. You are talking about most families but not all families. Men do not always make money. Sometimes, his wife works, and the husband takes care of their kids. Sometimes, both of them work and make money for their family. So, when most of the money comes from a woman, who pays the bills?

It just varies from family to another family. Maybe in your family, you make money; maybe I earn money for my family. But, it does not apply to every family. If you talk like this, you are not on the right path. You have to see both sides.

I am witnessing 2 families whose economy depends on the wife instead of the husband, one family is near my house and the other is my cousin's family. Both husbands are housewives and take care of the children, while the two wives are the economic breadwinners of the family.
Not in every family, the man will be the breadwinner, the one who earns and spends everything. And that doesn't mean we look down on men who take care of the housework for their families. What's more interesting is the two families I'm talking about, they are very happy families and have no quarrels like my family Cheesy. There is no discrimination between wives and husbands.

Gender is not a measure to say who will earn more money or who will be the breadwinner for the family in today's modern world.
Exactly! Gender shouldn't have anything to do with it. In today's time it has already been proved over and over again that women can do what men can and vice versa. Gender stereotypes should already be a thing of the past. Women has fought for their acknowledge and rights to not be closed and limited by the standards and roles set to them by society and by doing so it now gives men the confidence to express our emotions more openly and show vulnerability at times. It's the 21st century! What we can and can't do based on our gender should be the least of our concerns.
763  Economy / Economics / Re: How do you deal with financial stress? on: October 13, 2023, 02:32:31 PM
✂️

✂️
So this is life, if you can't balance everything then you yourself will be a victim of the harshness of life.

But what I want to ask is how to balance life these days? Because not only me but everyone around me has their own problems in life and is always in a state of stress. I have never seen anyone truly have a balanced life, even retirees have to worry about many things or even rich people have their own difficulties. It sounds easy to say, but I don't believe anyone can balance life in a time when things are getting worse. By the way, how did you achieve balance in life?
Stress comes constantly, everyone is under pressure of making it everyday as life gets harder and prices goes higher. However, we have to find a way to navigate through it. If we let stress get the best of us then we'll just be the one on the losing end. We have to have the grit to push through and refocus ourselves, remind ourselves what the goal is and find the best way to survive. Achieving balance in life doesn't necessarily mean you will have no problems or will never face any stressful situation, instead it means you'll have the capabilitiy to face those situations and make it out alive.
764  Economy / Economics / Re: Real estate vs cryptocurrencies vs business on: October 13, 2023, 12:05:52 PM
I think business should be my first pick before others. Although nothing is guaranteed in this world but each come with lesser risk than each other. The volatility of. Crypto can easy make you lose all your money in crypto especially if being too greedy.

A business requires too much dedication and effort to make it successful. I guess I have posted this in this thread before but I am saying it again. There a lot of rich kids whose dad has billions of dollars but their kids can't make a start-up. Even if they start, most of their start-up fails. The reason is they are not dedicated enough to their business. They want to run their business simply with their money. Only money cannot make everyone successful. The safer option here is Real estate as you need a few caretakers and monitor your business. The 2nd easiest is cryptocurrency even though it's volatile. If you are afraid of other currencies, go for Bitcoin. It will give you a good return in the long run.
All three of them take dedication and effort. If you are just going to leave your property in the hands of other people then you are taking a large risk, especially if you end up having no idea what is going on. The same thing applies to cryptocurrency as not updating yourself on the latest changes about the economy and the system may affect your investment. To put it simply each of the three requires different scales of effort and dedication depending on the risk an individual is willing to take in order to make it work and actually make a profit from it. Additionally, the three of them also have their own significant risks that we should know and consider before making a decision. At the end of the day, our decision relies on how much we are willing to risk as well as how dedicated we plan to be.
765  Economy / Economics / Re: Is academic pursues enough to get incomes? on: October 13, 2023, 11:47:13 AM
I really want know if getting more degrees can make life financially better because I come from a country where their are no job and I have seen people that the only thing they can do in life is to read books, getting more degrees attaining all these degrees yet no still go job for them with good pay. Do think people who read in a region with slim job opportunities are doing the right thing?

Most people who go for more degrees believe they can get better job at the end of the day. People that only go for more degrees in a stare with high unemployment rate are they doing right thing by putting all their focus on academic because this is the only thing they can do best.

Getting a degree doesn’t mean that you should be waiting for a job, but implementing what you study means that when you go for a course after graduation, you will obtain your degree, so with that, you can use that degree to implement skills that will help you to have money and also employment. But when you depend on the fact that your degree will give you a good-earning job, you will waste your time waiting for nothing because in some countries they have the issue of lack of unemployment while in others they have adequate employment, so based on what you write in your country, you have unemployment issues, so it is left for you to study, obtain your degree, and implement ways to earn money and create employment for others in your country.
I fail to see your point here. It is a given that attaining a degree doesn't guarantee money. There are other factors that needs to be considered and by not taking a step and acting out then whatever degree an individual have it really wouldn't amount to anything. No matter what the issue of employment is in a country it is always advisable for a person to get a degree due to the competence that drives every industry and by having a degree it gives a person an advantage against other competitors. Moreover, I don't get your last point, you want someone to get a degree and not focus on working but to make money so they can create job for others? Before that I'm sure people will focus more on getting a degree, finding a stable source of income and attain financial stability before they even think of providing for others.
766  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Cross addictions is Just as Bad. on: October 12, 2023, 11:59:35 PM
But come to think of it, at least it's not wasting too much money and attempting to get more in order to just fill their needs. He tried to 'cross' outside of the gambling sphere, but still, addiction is still addiction nonetheless. But if it's only used as a diversionary tactic, then I'd argue that it's something that can be cured, or at least curbed somehow. There's hope for these people, though it's still addiction but somewhat milder.
767  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: I can’t cope on my own. What do you think I should do? on: October 12, 2023, 11:18:31 PM
At the moment when a person is jealous of someone's success, or he gets a lot of money from gambling thanks to luck, this person begins to think that this is how you can earn.
They mostly get a bias effect where they think one of few successful gamblers are representing if gambling will make them rich. They forget if maybe only 1% is become rich in gambling and 99% of gamblers are lose.

However sometime I don't understand why someone is jealous of someone's success, they should realize if working hard and luck are the reason behind that.

Even casino managers admit that often the best advertisement is if someone's friend has earned money on bets, then this someone starts to think that he is smarter. He can earn even more with his knowledge. After that, the first bet occurs, the first luck, and that's how a new casino or betting player appears.
People are envious by nature, and I'm sure you know stories when even close relatives of brothers or sisters quarreled over inheritance or someone else's success, unfortunately, in life-this is a frequent occurrence outside of gambling.

That is true. If you're surrounded by friends who are eager to earn money and they find out that you're actually making something off of your gambling habits, they might even consider gambling just because you're doing it and you're getting something from it. It's like they don't want to get one-upped by you in terms of money making and they'll think that they can do better, when in reality you just had your lucky streaks and you often lose in gambling.

Quote
Limited Impact on Community-Based Monitoring System
Based on preliminary assessments, the PSA said it identified the Community-Based Monitoring System (CBMS) as the system potentially affected by the breach.
The agency is currently evaluating the extent of compromised personal data within the CBMS and has pledged to share the details with relevant authorities and the public as soon as possible.
As a preventive measure, the PSA has isolated and shut down the system known to be affected to safeguard the integrity of its other databases.
Assurance on Core Systems
The PSA assured the public that key systems, including the Philippine Identification System (PhilSys) and the Civil Registration System (CRS), have not been impacted by the alleged breach.

769  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Stop discouraging Newbies from Bitcoin... on: October 12, 2023, 06:11:54 PM
So when you see a newbie ask for advice on how to start up on their journey in Bitcoin trading, don't try to discourage them, rather give them the advice on how they can start, and also let them be aware of the risks and how to avoid it. If we must grow the community, then we have to learn to encourage everyone to get along, and not try to discourage them.
That's a warning isn't it limiting beginners from getting involved in trading, you have to separate advice from limiting beginners' interest? They try to say something that happened according to reality that beginners are not advised to get involved in trading when they have not mastered technical or other basic things. There is nothing wrong with that reminder and for me reminding each other is an effort to maintain a level of sanity because we cannot live alone without listening to the advice of other people who are more experienced.

No one is born as a professional trader and that is why reminding each other is an effort to look after each other. Make criticism an effort for us to become more developed and in this online forum we must have thicker skin to respond to every person's criticism. If a person is not ready to accept criticism then this place is not suitable for him and I don't think there is anything wrong with such criticism.
Really now? We drag beginners back with "well-intentioned" advice every time they start Bitcoin? We know its risky and fickle. Isnt that the point of trading? If a newbie shouldnt trade without technical knowledge, how will they learn? Learning involves experience, mistakes, and losses. Bitcoin is a passion and future for many.

But this annoying issue continues recurring. Genuine advice is sometimes misinterpreted as discouragement. As you indicated, this site may not suit those who can't take criticism. Let's distinguish criticism from overprotection. The world of Bitcoin is huge, intriguing, and occasionally scary. But lets stop treating newcomers like fragile and let them experience Bitcoin trading's roller coaster.
But then again those are just advice and our own take, the final decision is still in their hands. If they are really determine to invest or hold then they will continue to do so no matter what we say. It's not that we are treating newbies like they're fragile individuals, it's more like we're just being honest based on what we know and our experiences that answers their inquiries and questions, if they take that as a discouragement and take it to heart so much so that it pushes them to stop their Bitcoin journey then that's on them.
770  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Do you ever feel tired of waiting? on: October 12, 2023, 05:42:26 PM
That's because you're not busy enough and always think to make money through your investment, if your source of income isn't only through signature campaign, you will focus in your real life work or business to increase the income you would earn. Honestly you have a chance to move to other campaign that pay higher than $70/week, though it depends on your personal choice.

This is hit the spot.  It is the lack of the activity that makes one feel tired of waiting.  If a person have lots of things in hand and these thins produce profit that he does not need to sell his stash to fill in his budget, he will never get tired of waiting and some even forget about their investment due to being busy with other activities.

I actually don't care with Bitcoin price in short term, I know the updated Bitcoin price from this forum or article that I accidentally read it, not check through exchange, CMC or something like that.

People who do daily trade or just in for a short time care about the price of Bitcoin in the short term.  Those who are to stay and aim to make a life-changing profit from Bitcoin investment are the one who don't mind whatever the current price of Bitcoin is.
I completely agree with you. Although we cannot blame those who feel tired of impatient from time to time as they are on edge about the profit from their investment, there are various ways we can do to avoid those feelings. Having other things to do, in our case different ways to earn money as additional source of income, gives us a channel to focus our attention to. Moreover, it also gives us the confidence of leaving our investment as is and not touching it cause we know we have our sources to get money from in cases that we need more than our normal earnings.
771  Economy / Economics / Re: Women are more economical than men. on: October 12, 2023, 05:15:50 PM
Do you agree with this unpopular opinion that women are more economical when it comes to money and are able to manage themselves and their homes better than men do?
Before answering this question, I will like to ask some few vital questions, as follows;
See, what you have stated is the prime example of gender stereotypes. Various studies have already been conducted that gender has nothing to do with the roles and responsibilities individuals have with their family. Women can be the one to provide the same way men do, and men can be the one to do home management and handle the kids like women do. I don't know how many more studies are needed to finally get rid of this gender stereotypes about setting roles and standards on individuals just because of their genders. When will it be realized that these stereotypes are the very reason why individuals are being held back from their full potentials?
772  Economy / Economics / Re: How do you deal with financial stress? on: October 12, 2023, 04:49:25 PM
The situation in the country is now very bad, the price of every thing is increasing at double rate.
It is not just bad but getting worse everyday, people are really struggling to survive.  The least thing one can buy right now is even more than a dollar, I mean the the least thing you can think about talk much about basic things like food and other things. This is critical period that one needs to take note on how they spend money, it will be very shocking that money is being spend unnecessary their won't be any money left at hand . This period their is no need to crave for designers wears , hangouts that requires much money. Every life style needs to be cut short to meet up the hard economy .
[/quote
I agree with you. With how everything is going, everything needs to be planned out. Back then I don't have to be strict about what I buy when grocery shopping, but these days I need to list everything down, find cheaper options, and even calculate everything to the very last item to ensure that I don't go over my budget. I also used to mindlessly order food and get takeouts often but these days I rarely do so due to how expensive they are now and even the delivery fees are high. Hence, it is ony smart if we really plan and be smart about our money.
773  Economy / Economics / Re: Marriage mean double your passive income, rental property mean double your passi on: October 12, 2023, 04:16:24 PM
I disagree.

Marriage is not always mean higher income because you have a partner, especially if you are both planning to have your own family soon. If you have a child or children, you can't both work since your child or children will not have any company in your home, no bonding with your child, no whatsoever emotionally needs as your child grows if you two are working.

So the one who has the higher salary should be the provider, and the other one will stay at home, will take care of the children and the house, so on so forth.
Good point here and I do agree with you; hence this is why planning is important and that of course includes communicating with our significant other. If both parties know where they stand and what the plan is before, during, and after marriage then expectations will be set and roles will be given. For example, if my partner and I decided that after marriage the plan is to focus on our careers and save up for a business then we'll ensure that we take birth control pills and use protections so no unexpected pregnancy will happen that can jeopardize the plan. To put it simply, not even married couple are the same as every single one of us have our own priorities and reasons to get married.
774  Economy / Economics / Re: Save your environmental economic cycle on: October 12, 2023, 03:55:36 PM
When countries like Sri Lanka have gone bankrupt, my country (Bangladesh) is currently in a chaotic stage of economic uncertainty, food shortages and economic disaster have arisen due to the daily increase in the prices of essential commodities.  Even almost worldwide, economic problems have become a major factor in many countries.  The government is now failing to maintain economic balance.  It has become very difficult for those who run grocery stores with little capital, because it is not possible to compete with the big stores on price, also supermarkets now offer various discounts for promotions, due to which the situation of small stores is getting worse day by day.
Many countries that have been dealt with economic problems and most of them are having hard time to recover.
Food security problems, inflation, financial crisis and all sort of those problems that are making a lot of noise to their citizens that causes them to rally.
It's not an easy problem that can be gone with just a day or weeks or even months for them to push the government to solve it.
It's true, it's not magic that can easily be solved no matter how powerful and persistent the government can be. Various factors needs to be considered and dealt with, following the capacity and capabilities of the various sector of the government that answers to these problems. Hence, it does take years for plans and projects to counter these issues to even make any progress. While the general public may think that the government isn't doing anything, truth is, most of the time, they are just working in the background and by the time the public is looped in on the actions being taken a lot of steps and decisions were already done.
775  Economy / Economics / Re: Are short-term rentals to blame for the lack of housing? on: October 12, 2023, 03:15:32 PM
I think the rental price depends on the location, if we have the patience to find a cheaper house to rent then we can easily get it, I once worked in an area where the rent for a place was very expensive, but I was looking for a small road that was not far away and could get it at a very low price cheaper maybe only about 30% of the market price.

Location do play a big role when it comes to rental price. Location shows how accessible, modern, safe and secured the place will be. Location also shows the places that figure tenants can easily go to like hospitals, restaurants, malls, and other places that will be nice to
conveniently have nearby. However, there are also other things to consider like the aesthetics of the place, the amenities, the other rental price of nearby places, and the maintenance fees that landlords/land ladies often need for quick repairs. I'm sure there are a lot more factors that comes with setting a rental price but I agree that if we want to find a cheaper place we can start by researching locations.
776  Economy / Economics / Re: What US can do with its dept? Genuine question. on: October 12, 2023, 02:49:23 PM
The United States is a power country, no matter how big the debt is they will be fine. Various smaller countries borrows money all the time, it's nothing new. Besides, what they mostly do is pay off the debt that was possibly due after 10-20 years then borrow again to use it to make more money like investments and projects. As for the situation of the United States, perhaps they will do exactly what they did during the COVID-19 pandemic-- print more money and let their currency take a bit of hit. Will it affect them? Sure, but will it cause their downfall? Certainly not. Hence, if we're talking about huge debt and just how bad it might get for a country we should discuss about developing countries instead of a power country like the United States.

They will not default even if the debt figure increases to millions and trillions of dollars because they control the world's money printing machine and they always use their enormous power to export inflation to the world. But that doesn't mean it could never happen, if their position of power were threatened and overthrown their downfall would be swift. They are not the only empire that exists in this world that never collapses, let's see how long the American empire can last. Everything has a life cycle and the American empire is no exception.

I don't know and I'm not sure where in my reply I said that United States will never fall or the possibility is non-existent. Perhaps you have comprehended it wrongly. All I am saying is it will take more than a bit of currency shift for the United States to fall. Of course there's always the lingering possibility that US will fall, that it will one day lose its dominance over the rest of the world but will it happen overnight? Possibly not, it will take a lot for that to happen. Perhaps you should read my reply and the original post again to see that we're talking about debt here and how it may affect United States and not any outside factors.
777  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gambler avoiding friends after a big win. on: October 11, 2023, 11:58:37 PM
Maybe the gambler thought that his 'friends' will hound him of the money that he won from whatever game he was playing at the time. I mean, most people certainly don't want people around who are only asking for handouts, and so he thought that distancing himself to these people as early as possible will save him from that treatment. IMO, he's not really a good friend, and he only treat these people as gambling buddies and would likely not want to share personal connections with them at all. That in itself is not understandable, and anyone who thinks that that is a good idea would not develop connections that are strong and not only rooted because of monetary reasons.

Do you know when CS:GO will be left finally and they will pass to CS 2 in official tournaments as well?

Because some time ago they said that it was the last tournament in CS:GO however there must be a few more tournaments which have been organized since then. I assume they are waiting for CS 2 to be fixed more for some more time. I saw even s1mple saying that this game wasn't playable yet so there is still a need to make it much better.

I have been seeing big updates regularly whenever I launch Steam. I hope the game would be ready for tournaments as well soon.

That's actually their plan. They are to abandon CS:GO to move forward with CS2. There's not many tournaments left for CS:GO while it's still being the official game for CS and major tournaments, although we can't say that CS2 is polished enough to be a platform for huge tournaments specially if there are still some bugs here and there that could potentially destroy a team's strategy.

And now that this is mentioned, the movement still feels off whenever you try to walk or run in CS2. It's as if your character is using rollerblades or something because everything feels so slippery.
They had made an announcement of which tournaments were to transistion to the new Source 2 engine and Sydney's tournament was one of them.
But they had some dates which fell this week of others who would be having the update incorporated into theirs as well.
From the looks of it the match between BIG and The Chosen FEW in the ESL Challenger Jönköping EU Closed Qualifers were already using it.
And why not since everybody else being non-pro players are already playing on it! Since CS:S2 was released to the public late last month.

Even if a lot of people are using it and are reporting no issues whatsoever, it's very evident as a player that the game still needs some smoothing and a lot of polishing on the movement side. I've played it for a few hours and I can tell that I'm playing a very different game because the movement feels slippery and crude, like I'm playing an anime shooting game wherein sliding is a game mechanic/feature and not a bug.

Just look at this meme-worthy peek in the game. I believe an official match happened wherein the same thing happened although I'm not certain which game it was, but it only happened yesterday or a day before that.
779  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Sustainable Approach For Your Earnings in Gambling on: October 11, 2023, 10:59:20 PM
Taking a break after a win seems to be a lot more important compared to chasing another win. There's no guarantee that you will be keeping all of your winnings anyway because of your tendency to gamble again, but at least making sure that it's not spent in a single sitting is extremely important. At least, you won't have to withdraw from your personal funds for some time in order to gamble as you already have a buffer that is your winnings.

For me, being honest to oneself is extremely important in an event of a win. If you know that you'll be gambling again, just manage that fund and treat it as part of your bankroll and you'll have no problems at all.

Sangayon ako sayo kabayan pero may mgs scammer din kasi talaga na magaling at mautak.
