761  Economy / Economics / Re: transition FIAT to DIGITAL? on: August 12, 2017, 04:31:13 AM
the transition from physical currency to digital currency has begun a long time ago. these days people rarely use cash. we are all using cards, our phones and all kinds of weird stuff to pay online/offline. and that was a long process and took years.

transition from fiat to bitcoin is another thing though. I don't think it will happen. people and government won't simply give up on their centralized country currency and use a decentralized global one. not for another 100 years maybe. but that doesn't mean bitcoin can be used as a currency alongside fiat though. I am only talking about replacing it.

Agree, digital currency isn't just bitcoin but bank already issued their digital currency in form of cards.
Bitcoin created as an alternative currency but the difference is it's decentralized which makes it more interesting than any other centralized fiat currency. Doesn't mean fiat currency is bad at all but bitcoin is a better form of monetary system.
Bitcoin and fiat currency will be used in daily basis but it takes more time for bitcoin to achieve that goal.
762  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2017-08-11] One Coin, Much Scam: Italy Brands OneCoin Ponzi... on: August 12, 2017, 04:07:32 AM
Nice catch and this is why people shouldn't invest on shady coins which more likely to ended as scam.
New ICO and new project should proven their devs team and really legit to gain investors, but another factor to consider is whether the project or those coins will be profitable in the future or dead on arrival. Personally, I won't take a risk to invest precious bitcoin to random altcoins.
763  Economy / Speculation / Re: $3500 on: August 11, 2017, 11:58:33 PM
When will we see? Price seems to get stuck just below.

Well, you have been proven wrong because current price of bitcoin is over $3650 across global exchanges.
And we still have 10 days before segwit be activated, mean there are few days left before bitcoin reach $4000.
Look at bitcoin usability and development everywhere, in Japan which has the most - 'big parts' of support for bitcoin.
China exchanges and miners may have good effect to bitcoin as well, because Russia has been triggered to make the next biggest mining pool.
764  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: bitcoin is unstoppable on: August 11, 2017, 11:39:30 PM
Where did all the heroes  and legends go?

They are watching https://coin.dance/blocks statistics, we are 1826 Blocks away from Segregated Witness activation. BIP 141 locked in.
Unstoppable in regard that we now got everything. A fork of sorts happened. Segwit happens. Bigger blocks are out there as a great field experiment. More blocksize adjustments pending, but might arrive too.
And nothing harmed bitcoin in any way (besides the troublesome discussions sometimes).

Next year 2018 my forecast would be: Only one part of the above made it onto the pole position. The other concepts had to stay second place. I dont dare to guess which one ends up first.

Indeed, segwit planned to be activated on August 21st and many people triggered to buy bitcoin, current price is over $3650 and OKCoiin has reached $3775. Increased in value while global markets such as US stock market has been sinking which may lead investors towards bitcoin. The majority of bitcoin trading volume seems occurs in Asia countries such as in Japan, South Korean, China and India. We're on bull run again, I guess. Another factor that maybe affect this rise is mainstream journalist from Bloomberg, the wall street journal, CNBC and New York times that have spread the positive news about bitcoin.
765  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: how do you predict a coin price ??? on: August 11, 2017, 04:37:31 PM
by Market Cap ? Circulating Supply ? or volume 24 hours or all ? (im new to this ..looking for a advise  Smiley )

Market cap doesn't has significant effect to predict a coin price, nor does supply in circulation.
Volume in 24 hours may a good sign about how much people really interested to the coin.
But, avoid to invest on random coins without any usability or never rise again after fallen.
I prefer to buy some famous coins such as ethereum, monero, zcash or gigabyte even though the prices seems more expensive than other shit coins.
766  Economy / Economics / Re: Would bitcoin help teach kids about saving? on: August 11, 2017, 03:56:04 PM
Depends on their age, kids around 7 years old could be taught about saving and bitcoin is the best way I guess, instead of using fiat currency which they could spend at their will. But it will be different if kids learn to save bitcoin for long term, even if they really knows about bitcoin advantages and the value keep increasing over time, then they should be happy about it.
767  Economy / Speculation / Re: [BREAKING NEWS]: New Bitcoin ATH on: August 11, 2017, 02:14:45 PM
We are now trading above $3,500/BTC

Congratulations to all hodlers.

Next stop $5,000.

Bitcoin price in every exchanges slightly different, and some exchanges price are higher than others, especially exchanges in Asia such as in Japan, South Korean, Indonesian, and even bitcoin rate in China exchanges > OKCoin has reached over $3673 right now.
Don't you know South Korean exchanges ever reached highest ATH in bitcoin history, over $4500 on May 2017 : https://www.coinspeaker.com/2017/05/25/bitcoin-price-hits-4600-south-korea-currently-trading-2717-globally/
Well, since segwit will be activated on August 21st, should affect bitcoin price, hopefully bitcoin could reach $4000 in this month.
768  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: How does Bitcoin ATM work? on: August 11, 2017, 10:35:18 AM
First of all, where do you live man? There are many types of Bitcoin ATM, which some allow you to withdraw cash and others just allow you to convert cash into bitcoin without withdraw feature, usually depends on the size of the bitcoin ATM.
There's no a physical coin obviously Cheesy. Due to confirmation time that takes 10 minutes - 1 hour, more or less, you should wait until it's confirmed before withdraw allowed.
Here a good video about withdraw cash through bitcoin ATM : https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=xMA_IefqIG8
If you want to try those machines, make sure to record a video about it, maybe could help others.
769  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: [2017-08-11] Bitcoin Cash Gains More Support on: August 11, 2017, 07:15:58 AM
BCH supporters trying to lift up their token, but still can't rise more than $400 obviously, because people still have plenty of free bch in their stash, ready to sell it as soon as its price increase to certain price such as $300-$350-$400. There's no chance for bitcoin cash right now, maybe if bitcoin segwit2x fail in November or mining bch more profitable than bitcoin, then bch could reach more than $500-$1000 again, and at that time, I will sell mine Grin
770  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Re: Post your SegWit questions here - open discussion - big week for Bitcoin! on: August 10, 2017, 11:52:23 PM
They really are THAT stupid. Don't they know that they'll just drive more users to BCC/BCH/Bitcoin Cash?

I still believe that segwit2x is a bait to activate segwit and core won't support 2Mb hard fork obviously, and we don't know yet, how many miners will support this hard fork or how long it could fulfill the threshold. Segwit2x or 2Mb hard fork has been scheduled to take place in November but Bitcoin Core 0.15.0 will automatically disconnect nodes running Bitcoin ABC and the segwit fork. So, the answer is, hard fork unlikely to happen. Or, maybe I am wrong about it, let's see what will happen in November.

I agree. The miners were smarter this time however - they don't say it, but the implicit threat of Bitcoin Cash is that if the 2x hard fork is not honored, the miners will switch to the Bitcoin Cash chain. If 60% of hashpower switched to mining Bitcoin Cash overnight (for example), it would essentially be the end of Core's bitcoin - the lingering difficulty would cause blocks to be mined every 12 hours. This would cause a situation where Core Bitcoin is marginally useful and worth far less than its current inflated value...

Honestly, I don't think miners or majority hashrate will switch to bitcoin cash, bitcoin segwit or segwit2x are better than bcash according to the nodes and business acceptance. Bcash will rise, maybe in one or two months later but the situation will be the same, people will sell bcash to convert into bitcoin, there will always one bitcoin, not 2 or 3.
771  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What Is Your Bitcoin Dream? on: August 10, 2017, 11:30:32 PM
Build some business with an announcement : Bitcoin accepted here in order to support bitcoin as a currency, to make people familiar with this digital currency and easier to spend it directly in retailers and merchants obviously.
Bitcoin acceptance in every country and city are different, so we have to create or convince more people and business owners to learn about a better monetary system which decentralized and free from central bank system.
772  Economy / Economics / Re: Why market cap is irrelevant on: August 10, 2017, 10:59:03 PM
3   Bitcoin Cash Bitcoin Cash   $10,335,537,178
10 billions out of nowhere, with people unable to transfer their coins...but still  10 f billions.

Any reason why we should even bother talking about marketcap in cases like this one?

I've had a few "expert" opinions in this trade about circulating coins.
How does it stand about bcc?

There's nothing wrong about market cap as it's just a result from coins price and amount in circulation.
10 billions bitcoin çash market cap come from amount of this coin in the market/people hands and its price that at that time maybe around $650. But look at current price of bitcoin cash at $275 and the amount in circulation is 16,487,425 which mean its market cap is $4,548,682,708. The most important thing that affects market cap is the price of every coin, and the same thing goes for bitcoin.
773  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Selling Bitcoin Over Market Price? on: August 10, 2017, 10:20:30 PM
Bitcoin worth more than cash value obviously, but we can't buy bitcoin according to market price and sell it to someone over the market price, simply because people will consider to buy bitcoin on exchanges or people who sell it for a cheaper price.
However, we don't have to do that because bitcoin value keep growing over time, all we have to do is waiting for uncertain time to sell bitcoin at higher rate, if you want to.
774  Economy / Speculation / Re: Is Segwit2x Hard Fork a fact? on: August 10, 2017, 09:50:35 PM
We're going through the way to activate segwit but the second step of the New York agreement is 2Mb hard fork, as core developers don't want to support 2Mb block size limit and have planned to develop bitcoin core 0.15.0 that will automatically disconnecting any network node which runs the segwit2x fork. Then we will likely have a chain split sooner rather than later, it would allow more freedom for people to choose the best proposal of scaling solution.
775  Economy / Service Announcements / Re: SatoshiDirect.com Exchange Bitcoins in 3 Clicks, Permanent & Reusable Addresses! on: August 10, 2017, 12:34:51 AM
Yes, I mean the generated address which I will send btc to this Address (e.g. btc to eth), the generated address : 18vcXevhkaqbWxkoD****kH4KQxAY5HPLz is belong to SatoshiDirect?
And whenever I send bitcoin to this Address, instantly convert btc to ETH? Send to my eth address, of course.

My last question refers to, those ETH which will be sending to my eth address, come from your wallet (SatoshiDirect), right?
And, what's the guarantee that I will receive ethereum for my bitcoin? No offense.
I mean, everyone have to proof their service as a good one and trusted obviously.
776  Economy / Service Announcements / Re: SatoshiDirect.com Exchange Bitcoins in 3 Clicks, Permanent & Reusable Addresses! on: August 09, 2017, 11:51:20 PM
It is important to note that you must respect the then-current minimum transaction amount for each exchange direction.

This amount is displayed once you choose the exchange direction you want to generate an address for.

The system will ignore any transaction lower than that value and not exchange it, so you will lose those coins.

May you point out some reasons why people should use your site to exchange altcoins? Instead of just using Poloniex or Bittrex services. And how much minimum transaction amount to exchange e.g. bitcoin to eth? Since people will lose their coins if the transaction is lower than the value, what kind of value?
Oh, I get it 0.00131509  BTC per transaction, to exchange btc to eth. As long as people know about it, then it's fair.
Last question, this address that will be generated > is it your address or what?
I don't want to risk my bitcoin to send it to the generated address (no offense), but all those coins which people want to exchange, come from your pocket/wallet?
777  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2017-08-09] Unregulated Bitcoin ‘Wild West’ Gives Rise to Spoofy on: August 09, 2017, 11:08:30 PM
Since there's no regulations about it, there's no way we can track this behavior especially from exchanges itself.
I mean, exchanges could get pretty huge profits by doing this spoof things. It's a common problem from the beginning as they are who have invested in bitcoin in the early development > have so many bitcoin or so much money on their pockets (whales) which could easily manipulate market price by doing it together. However, I believe that bitcoin users have been used to this behavior and anyone could get money from them (whales) if they do a mistake.
778  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Find out what your ROI would be if you invested a certain sum on a certain date on: August 09, 2017, 04:30:42 PM
Nice tool to make you regret procrasting investing in BTC  Grin

http://whatifbitcoin.com/

Quote for reference,

Lol  Grin I am wondering, what's the point to regret ; if I did invest on bitcoin in the first place??
But, I get it now, yes, it's not so important but could influence people's minds to think what if I invest right now, and I could be a millionaire maybe someday in the future, maybe it takes 10-20 years but it's worth I guess.
The point is, to believe in bitcoin as it has been proven all this time to achieve unbelievable value and its potential still waiting to be revealed. It's not too late, as we're still in the early phase of bitcoin development and there are many countries will regulate or support bitcoin economics in the next few years for sure.
779  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Re: Post your SegWit questions here - open discussion - big week for Bitcoin! on: August 09, 2017, 04:05:52 PM
Will bitcoincore accept segwit 2x or will this cause another hard fork later?

We will probably see another fork and bitcoin core 0.15.0 won't support SegWit2x, It will actually disconnect nodes running that proposal from what I read on Reddit.

Yeah. WTF

https://github.com/bitcoin/bitcoin/pull/10982

They really are THAT stupid. Don't they know that they'll just drive more users to BCC/BCH/Bitcoin Cash?

780  Economy / Economics / Re: Putin's Aide Seeks $100 Million to Rival China in Bitcoin Mining on: August 09, 2017, 02:23:31 PM
A very good decision but we don't want from Russia to control either, we don't want from anyone to control. If only more countries take the same actions, that will make the network more powerful and decentralized then ever and this is valid for exchanges as well.

Woow, it's a big news
Russia want to develop their own mining system to challenge China, doesn't mean bitcoin mining become centralized as it can't be as long as there are some sides compete to process the blocks. It just added another Power in bitcoin mining, balancing and stabilize between bitcoin miners.
And I guess it is a Big ICO as well, where I can invest? What's the site to invest? Look at the opportunity, 18% of their earnings is a good deal. The initial coin offering (ICO) for these “RMC” tokens will provide holders with rights to 18% of the earnings generated by all mining equipment purchased with investment funds.
