7601  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Bitter Truth on: November 24, 2018, 10:48:40 PM
Of course why would someone buy expensive Bitcoin when you can get it a discount? It just doesn't make any sense. Not just Bitcoin but other crypto currency as well.

The problem is that we didn't know the discounted price, (bottom) that's why majority is still holding back, but I'm sure that when the price reaches <$4K, a lot of investors will have a panic buying. Lol. So let's see how everything goes if Bitcoin will continue its downtrend or not.
7602  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Swiss Bitcoin ETP on: November 24, 2018, 06:57:28 PM
I tryed find posts explaining this ETP, What is a ETP? This Swiss ETP will buy Bitcoins?

ETP - Exchange Traded Product

As per Investopedia:

Quote
Exchange-traded products (ETP) are a type of security that is derivatively priced and trades intra-day on a national securities exchange. ETPs are priced so the value is derived from other investment instruments, such as a commodity, a currency, a share price or an interest rate. Generally, ETPs are benchmarked to stocks, commodities or indices. They can also be actively managed funds. ETPs include exchange-traded funds (ETFs), exchange-traded vehicles (ETVs), exchange-traded notes (ETNs) and certificates.

https://www.investopedia.com/terms/e/exchange-traded-products-etp.asp

As far as I know the Swiss ETP, they will have a ticker holder of "HODL". So as per definition, the price could be derived from the price of Bitcoin and other altcoins as well, so its a basket of assets so to speak.
7603  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: John McAfee and his promises. on: November 24, 2018, 05:01:26 PM
Do you remember McAfee's statements that he will eat his penis if the price of bitcoin is not $ 1 million?) I urge everyone not to forget about it! This jester many times confused the community with his idiotic statements, in June he predicted bitcoin for 15 thousand, advertised scam. Don't believe him)

Of course who will forget about that? He made a big fuss about his prediction and all eyes are on this guy. But if you look closely, John McAfee is just a influencer, his trying to trick people to buy more bitcoins because I'm sure that he has tons of them stash somewhere.

But for smart investor, they're just laughing at this guy's prediction. Yes we believed that bitcoin might get to $1 m, but with that short amount of time? I don't think so.
7604  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: The BTC crash is good news for Altcoins on: November 22, 2018, 05:26:05 AM
I don't think we can get rid of Bitcoin influence of Altcoins because come to think of it, altcoins has been with us for as long as Bitcoin is, and yet when bitcoin goes down, so as the majority of altcoins and shitcoins.

So the correlation will still be there no matter how you spin it. Remember this shit started with Bitcoin Cash hash war and yet it spills over to almost the majority of the coins including Bitcoin. And just look at how the market is today, its all green meaning when people buy bitcoin back, all other coins are enjoying such support as well. So its really hard for altcoins not to be affected by Bitcoin price movement or for Altcoin to move away from Bitcoin price influence.
7605  Economy / Speculation / Re: Would Bitcoin become irrelevant or remain the King? on: November 22, 2018, 04:55:27 AM
So I am a big bitcoin enthusiast, but I realize it has problems. Also more and more people are trying to perfect their algorithms.
What if they reach their goals and bitcoin becomes irrelevant?
The price drop isn't showing that great either!

I think if you're going to look at the previous bearish market, its a lot worst than what we are seeing and yet people didn't abandon bitcoin but they just HODL on it and I'm sure many of them make tons of money in 2017.

If I'm in your shoes, I wouldn't look at the downside as something negative, but take the opportunity to accumulate at this very moment and let your bitcoin sits on your hardware wallet or in your Bitcoin core or Electrum and wait in 2019-2020 and see how your investment goes.
7606  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What do you think to expect from the market? on: November 20, 2018, 08:55:11 AM
We really need to be positive at this point. We didn't see this coming, the Jihan/Ver against CW mess was totally unexpected, but what can we do? If their war will drag us down to $1k so be it. But if you're a smart investors, you can start accumulating bitcoin at a cheap price and just hold, easy peasy.

For me the recovery starts somewhere in 2019, but remember we still have the BAKKT offering in December, so it might be a good catalyst for another reversal. So it is still not over yet, just be cool and calm we have been here so many times before and bitcoin proves it can bounce back and go higher as its previous all-time-high.
7607  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: The main reason for the bearish market today on: November 20, 2018, 08:24:54 AM
It’s nothing to do with the SEC & their lack of understanding or accepting that bitcoin is ready for one of their shit ETF’s.

The reason the price is falling down quicker than a cheap hooker getting on her knees for $100 is because of a number of reasons, mainly the shit show that’s currently going on with BCH. Ver/Jihan & CW are all burning bitcoin’s to support their weird as fuck fork civil war. This made the price drop & now it’s filtered down to average joe panic selling which makes the price drop more.

It’s one big fuck up! We’re probably going to have to wait until 2020 for the next big bull run post halving.

Yes, those 2 idiots are dragging us down as of the moment and then followed by speculators (newbies) panicking seeing their wallet value dwindling down.

So we're caught up in the mess those two has started and there's no one who can tell when this will end. We have seen the lowest price (53 weeks all-time-low) and we may have to see it going south for the next couple of weeks. So its probably the 2019-2020 when we will see a good bounce back.
7608  Economy / Speculation / Re: FRUSTRATED AT THE MARKET. on: November 18, 2018, 12:27:45 PM
The market is now frustrated these days how every thing on the coinmarket cap have now went bad and worse now. However, I hope the better day of the market will come before end of the year.

To be honest, I'm also frustrated regarding the market conditions. I mean we went from $19k->$6500 already. So that alone is already a concern, and now seeing all-time-low? That really sucks.

As difficult and hard it can be, the best thing to do is just stay cool because if you go mad at what you're seeing, you might decide to sell everything off which is not a good decision. So just be patience and wait for the market to reverse itself.
7609  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: The battle between ETH and XRP on: November 18, 2018, 12:12:14 PM
Hard to say who will stay on top but it looks like XRP is staying as the top coin for good. ETH has lost so much value and the continue dumping of big players and project ICO will contribute to its slow downfall while XRP has lots of news and its rebounding nicely since we have a bloodbath last Wednesday.

It looks like the go to coins as of today so for me ETH will need a lot of good news that will turn the tide and claim is number 2 position behind Bitcoin. XRP 'centralization' might have help it this time and its community is getting bigger as well.
7610  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Where were you and what were you doing when bitcoin took this huge $1,000 Dump. on: November 17, 2018, 06:05:11 PM
and what did you think of it, LOL?

Obviously, it was unexpected, remember we have been trading sideways for the last 3-4 months. So I'm not expecting something to happen at this point.

For me it was a disaster, I was just getting ready to do some btc transactions, and all deals fell through basically, and there is nothing looming in the horizon.I hope the market recovers fast.

I was sleeping like a baby, Lmao. But when I wake up and checking out the forum, I saw several threads and look at the price in coinmarketcap. Damn, it was a dip that no one ever saw coming.

I did pick up some cheap coins however.

Good for you. Right move because all coins are cheap at the moment. Even bitcoin is still a good buy at this point.
7611  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What can a trojan in a wallet do and how? on: November 17, 2018, 11:10:36 AM
I am wondering what can a trojan in an altcoin wallet can do to a computer and how it does it.   How would having something like Avast running protect or not protect the computer.

Let's say you got a malware like Keylogger. So once injected in your system all your keys are being logged and probably send to the hacker itself. So if by chance the hacker was able to identify that this certain key might be your password or your private key, then there's a big chance that we will attempt it and try to see if he/she got the correct combination and one day you will be surprised when all your coins is lost.

Of course running anti-virus like Avast is a good prevention. But you need to regularly updated it because its a virus, meaning it self hibernate wherein antivirus will be having a hard time to detect or it evolves itself, meaning another variant has been release. So its not a guarantee as well.
7612  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Avoid MEW Phishing on: November 16, 2018, 06:22:35 PM
It's really simple. Use MyCrypto instead of Myetherwallet. It's made by the same team, It looks the same and it has more improvements so there is no reason why you wouldn't use it.

Its not made by the same team. Actually its more than that, there was some power grabbing MEW that resulted to some of them separating and putting up MyCrypto.

I haven't seen a single phishing attempt yet targeting Mycrypto, most likely because hackers are not really aware of it as of now as not many people use it. Either way, the domain name is shorter so It's unlikely that you'll fall it.

Yes. Because majority of investors are still using MEW because they're used to it. You just have to learn how to protect your account and you're good to go. Please there's a lot of helpful tips around that will reduce your chance of being phished.
7613  Economy / Speculation / Re: What's happening with Bitcoin losing more than 10 per cent of its value? on: November 16, 2018, 06:05:55 PM
According to The Independent, the price of bitcoin has hit its lowest point in more than a year after a long period of stability.
What's the cause behind the current dip? I am puzzled.

Well if you really wanted to know the cause of the flash dip, then you can go around the forum and see it for yourself. Its obvious that we're affected by the schism between Bitcoin Cash by Wu and Roger Ver and then at the opposite site is CSW Bitcoin Cash's SV.

But eventhough we can call Bitcoin as collateral damage in their war, it doesn't mean that the price will continue its downward turn. And it just shows how this market is really volatile and at no point can be stable. If you're nervous about the current situation then I suggest you just get out as early as you can.
7614  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Trading tension about Ethereum on: November 15, 2018, 07:28:02 PM
Well those two coins are battling it out for the second spot in recent months. Ethereum slipping is due to Bitcoin talking down some alts so when Bitcoin recovers I'm sure that Ethereum will regain its number 2 spot unless XRP hold its position (but I doubt that it can sustain the run).

If I'm in your shoes, I wouldn't panic as this point but continue to buy Ethereum and wait till the dust settled between the Bitcoin Cash war. Continue to accumulate Ethereum and I'm sure that once a break out run happen, you will be happy that you made the right decision.
7615  Economy / Speculation / Re: This is not the end of bitcoin on: November 15, 2018, 07:04:45 PM
And again that if bitcoin price dropped then the particular people will starting to spread FUD and makes people panic but sometimes i was wondering for those who involved in bitcoin why if bitcoin price down then they says it is time to quit because bitcoin will die but why they cannot utilize this conditions to buy more and i think bitcoin won't die easily

Exactly, I even noticed one account who totally shilled against bitcoin being quite for sometime and then suddenly came out because the price seems to be falling really hard. Lmao. It just shows that those who spread FUD hibernates when their tactics doesn't work and will go back once their is a panic. Be careful with those kind of people. Grin

Of course common sense will tell us that its not the end of bitcoin and as per the chart, we have been in this kind of situations and bitcoin is so resilient that it has the ability to bounce back after just a couple of days. So there's no need to worry at this point and let is simmer down after the Bitcoin Cash fork.
7616  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Will it fall? on: November 13, 2018, 08:46:36 AM
I think if there is a crisis in the stock market then the cryptocurrency market will start to grow again. IMHO

Experts say any crash in stock market there is a corresponding reaction into the Crypto market, it either on major reaction by falling some of the crypto coins or just a minor glitz on the market? But we've seen the other way around, the crypto market are becoming more active compared to the 3rd quarter performance, everyone is expecting that something might happen in the market for these last remaining days before the end of 2018. So, in my opinion it wont fall as to stock market reaction...

I think by now we have seen what the impact is, since the collapse of stocks last month, crypto market suffer as well, but with just minor dent on the price. So there's some correlation but its not greatly as big as others might has trying to picture it.

I think if there is a crisis in the stock market then the cryptocurrency market will start to grow again. IMHO

That's what we have been speculating for years. There's this theory that stock market investors will suddenly shift to crypto if ever there's a huge dump or a crash in stock market. But so far we haven't proven that theory because continue to bounce back after a crash.
7617  Economy / Economics / Re: What should I choose on: November 12, 2018, 07:49:07 AM
I would rather go open a business if I were in your shoes. This business doesn't mean its online or something. It could be a offline. Choose a business that is closer to your heart so that you will enjoy it everyday. I'm sure that if you will be successful with that kind of attitude.  Grin

And then when your business started to grow, you can invest some of your business profit in crypto. Then you can enjoy the best of both world, just saying. Instead of directly investing today and after that you have nothing to do with the rest of your life. hehehe.
7618  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Historical Street Gambling Game on: November 12, 2018, 03:49:10 AM
Is this the three card monte? I Have been studying it for quite some time when I have been bored when not doing anything. I have seen it, and it's quite amusing how quickly the dealer has changed hands. It is a con game from what I have read on the history about it.

The scenario is that there are a lot of people that would be surrounding the dealer guy then waits for someone, who is a newbie, to join the commotion. After that, the dealer invites the newbie to participate and then lets him win, like in your story. Then after getting greedy, the sleight of hand will occur. Losing everything.

That's what I have thought of when reading the topic. Awesome.

I haven't seen 3 card monte played in my street. But I have seen it countless times in Youtube and I must say that those con artist are really good. Quick hands plus some people colluding as well. You think you already know where the correct card is, but unfortunately, the sleight of hands happens so quick, in a blink of an eye that you didn't notice anything strange.

Its can probably compare to a '3 move chess' playing played here. You are given just 3 moves to 'check mate' the opponent and bets on the side. But this is just a scam as a 3 card monte.
7619  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Head Teachers in China Caught Red Handed Ether Mining at Work on: November 11, 2018, 11:58:41 AM
This should not be done in school, because the Minner machine is very noisy, and very disturbing for student learning. then it will also waste electricity consumption. in my opinion the teacher like him was immediately fired, because it would hurt the school a lot

Exactly, first the principal abuses his/her position, then he/she committed theft. So this is not to be taken lightly. I don't know what going on the mind of the principal, but it boils down to one reason alone, to make money and be greedy. Not good for someone who has a high position specially being the top head of a school.

I guess the principal should be also be jailed for this one because this is theft. And we all know that China government is really tough law regarding criminals. There were even reports prior of persons being caught stealing electricity for mining and receiving 3-5 years jail term.

Stephen A. Smith is pretty hyped right now lol :

http://www.espn.com/core/video/iframe?id=25234492&endcard=false

I'm sure the entire Sixers nation is happy to welcome a star player. I know they were hoping to land LeBron this summer but Jimmy ain't no scrub and everything you had to give is Covington and Saric, it's definitely a great deal for Philly. Covington and Saric are decent role players, don't get me wrong, but when it's playoff time you need proven players. If only they take Fultz out of the starting lineup and put JJ back (+ Chandler for spacing): Simmons/Redick/Jimmy/Chandler/Embiid that's a pretty good starting lineup.

In paper it looks like the team is really solid with the addition of Jimmy Butler for Sixers. But the question is, will Jimmy not bring his diva attitude to Philly and not cause another drama in the locker room?

As for the Timberwolves, it's an OK deal I guess. I don't see how this trade makes them any good. At least the locker-room tension/drama is behind them and they can focus on playing basketball.

I guess they just wanted to get rid of Jimmy at this point and willing to make any trade eventhough its not a OK deal, at least the way I see it. They needed defensive player so I don't know how Covington and Saric can bring something in the table for them.
