8501  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2017-11-30] McDonalds to accept Bitcoin by 2018 on: December 01, 2017, 08:25:03 PM
I don't think that this added value to the current price. Although is a good and welcoming news for bitcoin, but I doubt it has a significant effect on the current price. This is just pure speculation. And Betway is cashing out on the popularity of bitcoin by putting odds to see if McDonalds will join the ride.

I'm sure that McDonalds is aware of bitcoin but it will cause them a lot of headache in the beginning. But hey, it they do really accept then it may set a precedence to other giant fast food chain to accept bitcoin. But for now, nothing is certain and this is just speculation.

And I agree that title is misleading, another clickbait. Everyone is really riding the popularity of bitcoin. I have seen this begun in May or June. Been reading garbage news and articles and sometimes the author that's know what he is talking about. And guys, please don't attack the product, but the article and who ever is the author.
8502  Economy / Economics / Re: Diversifying? on: December 01, 2017, 07:12:53 PM
Hoped that you stayed strong along the ride and had made good decision with your fat stack of bitcoins, diversifying is always a old school method to keep your funds stable with market movements, going into big chips like Ethereum, Monero, Dash certainly wouldn't got wrong over the years, supposing your style of holding had paid your efforts, it's good to invest more, learning more from other altcoins/projects to make good market decisions on trading, holding is fun and exciting for me.

Of course diversifying is almost good and what other have preached, don't put your eggs in one basket. I believed in this saying that's why If I'm the OP, I will sold a few and re-invest in in either few altcoins or real state. We never know that future so its good to be at least ready in case something bad goes to your first investment.

In the past, I have a bad experience with my investment because I never diversify. I thought that my investment is already good and can last for long period. Unfortunately, it came dawning at me that I should diversify, but its too late, I already lost almost everything and I did get out of that investment.

So its never too late to spread your portfolio in the following: crypto, stocks, mutual fund and real states or even put up a business that will keep the cash flowing on your end. Old school but still effective in my opinion.
8503  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Do you still support Ethereum? on: December 01, 2017, 06:35:46 PM
Why not?

Ethereum together with Bitcoin is the only coin that has a bright future for long term hold. Although they are different in nature, one is designed to used for payment and P2P, while the other is based on smart contract and been offered as investment for most ICO's of today.

And now that Ethereum has caught its second wind and touching all-time-high as well. This is the perfect time to really support it. I think that with the current price, it has still some leg room to go up in the next coming months. Although the price increase is not similar to bitcoin, but still it is a good coin to put your money for longer term.

And it looks like there are a lot of institutions as well testing their smart contract capability that's why it become relevant again and investors got their interest and pump fresh cash on it.

8506  Economy / Speculation / Re: BTC at 9000! on: November 28, 2017, 03:17:47 PM
Bitcoin value now are more than $9,000 in the present, I think a little bit time and bitcoin value achieve the $10,000. I know that no one can stop increasing bitcoin price in the future, I guess for now it's better to save your bitcoin in your wallet instead of selling. Because I feel that this coming January 2018 another rocket of bitcoin will be raising up, I'm pretty sure that more capitalist will encourage to deposit in this coin.

Hopefully that increasing of bitcoin value in the market will never end.

Touchdown $10000. Bitcoin already touching it is another good indication that this massive bull run will not stop anytime soon. I hope that everyone is still hodling though, we don't need to sell the push button as the price is continuing to generate a lot of gains. I agree with others that the price growth from $8000 to $10000 is really quick. However, we can't really tell the people to stop buying it. By January 2018, the price could peak at around $15000 is this bull run continues till next year.

It went very quickly to 9000. Should we expect a correction and than up to 10.000?

We never see any correction going at $10000. Yes its quick I agree but a lot of investors are pouring their cash into the system that's why the gain is very fast. Maybe we can see correction sometime but I doubt it will happened at $10000. And if there is a price correction, its normal around 10% correction is just fair, in my opinion.
8507  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin at 11890$ in India! I think the highest in the world! on: November 28, 2017, 02:29:27 PM
Bitcoin prices are much higher in India

Bitcoin price in India is always at a premium. Just wait and see Zimbabwe mate. Just check how much bitcoin is in that country. This is an old steemit articles though explaining why the spread is much higher in India against its Western counterpart:

https://steemit.com/bitcoin/@candy49/mystery-solved-as-to-why-the-bitcoin-price-in-india-is-higher-than-the-price-on-western-exchanges

As I was saying, Zimbabwe is well above the average bitcoin price:

Quote
The price of bitcoin in Zimbabwe as quoted at the local exchange, Golix, rose 13,79 percent on Monday to trade at $16,500, about 65 percent above the global price.

The global price of bitcoin stood nearer $10,000 on Monday.

8508  Bitcoin / Press / [2017-11-27]As Price Eyes $10,000, Bitcoin Faces 'Mainstream' Moment on: November 27, 2017, 09:08:02 PM
"Unfortunately, I don't have anything interesting, intelligent or even funny to say."

That's no small statement from Wences Casares, the man often credited with waking up Silicon Valley to the opportunity of cryptocurrency. Indeed, Casares' loss for words appears to be one shared by early adopters and long-time technology enthusiasts as the price of bitcoin approaches $10,000.

A milestone long trumpeted as inevitable by the bitcoin faithful, those surveyed by CoinDesk expressed a range of emotions on what it would mean if and when bitcoin tops the key psychological barrier.

Charlie Shrem, entrepreneur and bitcoin advocate, responded by calling the prospect "amazing," while Zane Tackett, a veteran of the exchange sector called it simply "insane." Others sought to put meaning to the charts, suggesting that bitcoin's likely milestone signals a shift in the mainstream understanding of cryptocurrencies.

Jeremy Allaire, founder of bitcoin broker and blockchain payments startup Circle, for instance, sought to frame the price increase as an early signal for institutional investment in cryptocurrencies, a development he framed as beginning in earnest.

He told CoinDesk:

It certainly feels like we are seeing a decisive shift from the early adopter phase of digital currency into the mainstream phase."

Others, like author and investor William Mougayar, called bitcoin's growth "expected" given its positioning as an "entry point" into the world of cryptocurrencies for many investors, though he said interest is likely to spread into an increasingly diverse market.

"Bitcoin has had an incredible momentum that is both psychological and technical. This might be the tipping point for mainstream adoption," he said.

Though most of those queried by CoinDesk suggested that they see the rising price as positive, there was also a sense – notable among experts – that the market is moving into a phase destined to buck predictions.

Thomas France, a multi-year veteran of the industry and co-founder of the Ledger wallet, didn't even go so far as to call himself a market expert in remarks, emphasizing that whatever might be said about the cryptocurrency, the numerical evidence is perhaps enough.

"I see the global market cap of crypto as very, very small compared to its true potential," France said.

Too much too soon?

Still, less common were those who sought to suggest that the surging price of bitcoin, up nearly 900 percent on the year, may trigger increasing scrutiny on its markets and practices.

Guy Corem, a long-time bitcoin mining company CEO and the founder of a new alternative cryptocurrency startup, DAGLabs, couldn't quite shake his bad feelings about the market even with the $10,000 level in the offing.

While he acknowledged his excitement, and what he called the "clear demand" of new buyers seeking to allocate capital, Corem worried about possible reactions.

"I am just worried that the rate of growth is too fast and may trigger government's response," he added.

In particular, he hinted at fears that cryptocurrency exchanges could be cut off from access to U.S. dollars, or other major fiat currencies that currently provide the avenue for onboarding to new users.

Micky Malka, a veteran investor in the sector and former board member of the non-profit Bitcoin Foundation, also struck a subdued tone, calling $10,000 largely a "symbolic number" – though one he said has arrived faster than his expectations.

"[I'm] already surprised with the speed, especially knowing that is still not ready for every person in the world to access it," he said.

Too early to count?

That said, more active traders were perhaps less convinced $10,000 will be a benchmark exceeded with any degree of ease, owing to the fact it has loomed so large in the sector's psyche.

Arthur Hayes, founder of bitcoin derivatives platform BitMEX, said he believes that the price barrier is likely to be significant for traders because of this, and thus, is not one that will be breached lightly.

"I don’t expect it to be convincingly taken on the first attempt. That being said, I do believe that by year-end, it will fall," he said.

BTC VIX, organizer of the bitcoin trading forum Whale Club, expressed his belief that the market is in "bubble times," and hinted that he is looking to assess the next assets traders may identify in order to increase gains in the market.

Others, however, appeared content to let the market evolve come what may.

When asked if a push above $10,000 was likely, trader Tuur Demeester responded succinctly:

"I wouldn’t bet against it."

8509  Economy / Speculation / Re: Next BTC Crash? When? on: November 27, 2017, 03:58:55 PM
I sold all of my BTC with 8200$, Now I want to join to the game again, What do you think about next crash time? I think it will be crash beforBTC hit 10k$.
$8200 isn't a bad rate of selling right? How about me, sold mostly at $2,300 and few on $3,400. I keep on recalling that day that I had sell and forget about the future plans. But I'm used to it and what I need to do is just to keep on moving forward, there's nothing going to happen if I keep on thinking about it. There will be no crash, it's just a correction maybe after CME starts bitcoin futures.

I also sold at $8200 and $9200 because those instances, I though that bitcoin will go on a dip. But boy I was wrong. Not selling the rest of my stash now as bitcoin is still making a huge run at $10000. The CME rumors are still up in the year but I think this drove this craziness in prices.

I'm also moving forward with that dreaded dump that I'd do. But hey, I also profited so nothing bad in my decision, although I should have waited to maximized my profits my I'm good. And if ever there is a dip at around $9000 I will definitely buy and accumulate again and just hold till 2018.
8510  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2017-11-27] Next stop $10000? Bitcoin's incredible surge hits new heights on: November 27, 2017, 12:32:27 PM
I think so far there are no barriers, so that the price of bitcoin fell. People only show more interest in bitcoin. And ahead are new frontiers and new victories
Meanwhile there a lot of people who still count bitcoin as a pyramid or babble. Who would think that bitcoin will climb so close to 10000$, which many of users so much desire?! I hope this new highs will prove to every one who still doubt that bitcoin is not a scam, that the future is standing behind this crypto currency.

Yes, the more the price of bitcoin goes higher, the more people will really doubt that is actually a bubble. And bitcoin has been a bubble in there theory but it only shows recovery, which is not possible if the so called bubble has burst. As for the barriers, I also don't see coming in the next month so I'm expecting that $10K will be meet.

Although I must admit the the road to 5 digits is very quick, corrections is deem needed but I don't know when this rally will stop. I'm expecting that $10K will be touch at the beginning December, but I wouldn't be surprise if we get there in the middle of this week. No barriers, no negative news= smooth sailing to $10K.
8511  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin almost $10000 just $200 away on: November 27, 2017, 06:54:38 AM
Yes, the theory has been proven. Imagine what will be the value of bitcoin in the year 2019.

Can we imagine value in next year? Why did you jump over entire 2018, can you see that price is growing and next year will be very important for bitcoin! There is no theories to be proven, demand is rising bitcoin is becoming more accepted and that is pushing the price up.
I can't imagine price in 2 years from now, we are going up very fast and I feel like everything is possible now with bitcoin, price can hit 100k in next couple years.

Hahahaha. We have the same thoughts dude. It's either a mistype on his end or has the crystal ball and now what will be t the end price of bitcoin in 2018 or probably in a hurry to increase his post count.

Anyways, back to the subject $10K is really going to be touch at the end of the year. We still have a full month to get it to $10K. $200-$300 is nothing for bitcoin. $10-$14K at the end of the year. Correction will happen but its gonna be minor, bitcoin has already gain the trust of old investors and now I feeling that new investors are coming into the price that drove this massive pump in 24 hours only. There is the CME news that push the price, so imagine another waves of news coming, bitcoin will surely meet my prediction of $14K in 2017. Crossing my fingers. Smiley
8512  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin transaction fees.. on: November 26, 2017, 05:00:30 PM
Hi, Do you think is tehre any interest to reduce the transaction fees for bitcoin? Many alts are focusing on speed and low fees while bitcoin has made little effort.

Well segwit has already technically reduced the fee in half and there is a plan to implement the lightning network in the future so saying bitcoin hasn't made any progress in terms of solving this issue is totally wrong. You can use 30 to 50 sat/byte and use transaction accelerators to get fast confirmations. Also people need to stop associating bitcoin as a perfect solution. Think of bitcoin as the first computer, it wasn't fast but it was the first step towards the right direction.

Segwit is been taken in bitcoin to increase the block size and due to that number of confirmations will be increased so fees amount you afford for the each transaction will be reduced too.
However, if you use any desktop wallet means you will be able to change the transaction fees and I mean modifiedable and can reduce fees but I am sure that you transactions will be reach in some hours.

Today I transfer my bitcoin to my other wallet and it seems very fast and fee's I used is "within the next 10" blocks and I don't have any complains though about the fees. Of course the higher the fees, the faster your transaction can be pick up by the miners. Yes, there is only a planned to integrate LN but I'm not sure when it is going to be implemented.

As for the alts very fast and focusing speed, maybe they are quick because their network is not yet saturated and the blocks are not even filled in, unlike bitcoin that the blocks and mempool are always full and clogged. Its not that bitcoin has made little effort, the community hasn't made any real consensus because of many factor, like political bickering amongst them.
8513  Economy / Speculation / Re: Will BTC Hit The 10K Mark Before 2018? on: November 26, 2017, 07:10:46 AM
With the current price increased in the last of couple of days and assuming that this trend will continue, then $10K is possible. And only question is when in December. Right now if you haven't notice it yet, $9K has been touched already. So how many days from today till the end of the year? Its only about $1K difference and we all know that bitcoin can do that in a matter of hours. And assuming the parabolic line goes, probably around 1st or 2nd week of December.

Its either the CME news that creates all of this domino effect to the market or some whales still loves to accumulate more bitcoin in bulk. Or just FOMO are real and don't want to miss the train to $10K is buying. So just continue to hodl until such time that $10K is breached and decide if you are going to cash it out in time for the Christmas rush.
8514  Economy / Economics / Re: Is Bitcoin a Bubble? on: November 26, 2017, 05:28:26 AM
That is what the losers keep saying until now but it has made so many people millionaires and billionaires...

The more the price of bitcoin goes higher, and make many people millionaires the less people will think its a bubble. And over and over again we see bitcoin prices plummets to a low heights and we think that the bubble has burst, only to recover the lost ground and rise to new heights.

And now we are even seeing it going to $9000 or even $10000 this year, critic will call this another bubble, another fraud and based on speculation, but each time they attack bitcoin regaining its previous AtH and then pushing for more. if bitcoin is such a bubble then we will not see any recovery. I can't count how much "crash" we have in 2017 though, but we are still good up to now and we are still be doing very well in the next couple of years.
8515  Economy / Economics / Re: will next decade be the bitcoin era ?? on: November 25, 2017, 09:44:50 PM
As by seeing the usage graph and profiting graph i can easily assume that in next decade of 2020 people will mainly relay on bitcoin and the main thing to survive in the next era will be bitcoin and it will be frequently used by everyone and that will help many regions to boost their economy as well so hope for the best, many people are eagerly waiting for the btc system to be implemented.

It is hard to call the next decade Bitcoin decade because at current time only 1% of the population have heard of Bitcoin, but miracles happend (looking at Bitcoin).

I think i consider by next year 2020 the bitcoin era is very popular when it comes to digital currency. And i think many countries have already support the bitcoin flatform if many people working on it if they found out during census many of those people depends on digital currency. If that government country have giving regulation to the digital currencies.

It doesn't need the support of a country to really take off in the next decade. What we need is people around the world accepting and recognizing bitcoin's true potential. Look at countries that don't like bitcoin like China, trading and any bitcoin and crypto related for that manner is still ongoing. It didn't deter their citizens to continue to trade and invest into bitcoin.

2020 its still far but we can see right now how bitcoin has slowly gaining acceptance throughout the world. If the trend continues, we might see it at the heart of every individuals globally. Be it as payment scheme or to store their wealth or just an investment.
8516  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin hits $13,000 on Zimbabwe exchange on: November 24, 2017, 12:54:50 PM
I dont know what is really happening on that country, it is very crazy, and bitcoin is like gold for them.
I have been looking at their local forums from there, and people are always talking about money, specially about bitcoin because that might be their main purpose to be on those forums.

When is going to be the time in when we all are going to start seeing those zimbabwe's people spamming their signatures in there? lol. first it was those from those countries from Africa, then from Asia, and now probably from Zimbabwe, lets see how many of them are we going to see in here soon.

No, its not gold but oil which is a prime commodity on that country. They are in economic unrest till today and bitcoin is being used to store their wealth, becoming as a safe haven from local banks and just like Venezuela they are using it to buy things outside of their country. In response though:

https://www.coindesk.com/bitcoin-is-not-allowed-says-zimbabwe-central-bank-chief/

Now they are taking notice because bitcoin is really going up in their. Their Central Bank has to deal with it because their people just choose to park their assets on bitcoin, resulting to little money circulating around their economy.

But I would rather stay away from arbitrage though, too risky and you might end up losing. Just my .2 BTC
8517  Economy / Speculation / Re: Is bitcoin predicted to rise in the coming days? on: November 24, 2017, 11:23:38 AM
I am stuck with the idea of cashing out now or later. Should i wait a bit before cashing out?

No one can answer you regarding the rise of bitcoin in the next coming days. We have to understand that bitcoin price is very unstable and anything can happen on the price in just a matter of minutes. And even though buying and holding bitcoin over the long haul is a great strategy, sometimes its better to sell if:

1. You need money for emergency
2. You think that the price could do down
3. You have better investment or other opportunities that you are going to seek

If you can answer that simple question then I guess you have the decision to either wait or cash it out now when the price is really high. Its really up to you mate.
8518  Economy / Marketplace / Re: I only have 200$ per month ! on: November 23, 2017, 12:26:10 PM
After a month of hard work I have to pay quite a lot of things. I just got one about 200$ to invest in bitcoin. Should or should not. Please help me !  Lips sealed

If you are willing to lose that 200$ is investment then I think its a go. However, there are risk involved so please take note of that. But you also need to understand that there is what we called, good entry point, that is when the price of bitcoin is down, that the perfect opportunity get and buy them and not get them while the price is high. At least you can maximize your profit because you are getting them at a discounted price.

Another point is that bitcoin is really for long term hodl, so if you are willing to buy it and then next month will just sell it off then don't invest. Your 200$ can multiple many times if you are going to hold for like 6 months to a year. Are you willing to do that as well?
8519  Economy / Economics / Re: STeX is cryptoexchange with 100% commission distribution among token holders on: November 23, 2017, 10:27:28 AM
Hey, it looks like this is a new exchange that will be coming out in the market. Any ANN thread yet? Never seen one or if there is can you please provide me the link as well?

Also you are starting a ICO so its better if you have like bounties and signature campaigns so that it can reach more members here. Really hard to market a new exchange with just posting it in this thread.

Maybe I know where is the exchange located though? I see most of your post in Chinese language if I'm not mistaken. Isn't it Chinese government have been clamping on crypto's so I'm curious as to where the exchange is physically located.
8520  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin Price Targets Above $10,000 really!!!!!!!!!!!!!! on: November 23, 2017, 09:19:47 AM
this is a good news huh!!!!!!!!wall street analyst, thanks for your guess. because we all see it coming. bitcoin future is bright. the price goes higher and higher and soon it will reach 10000$ so this is christmas is n't it? so what are you waiting for? keep investing on btc and enjoy.

Don't be too ecstatic seeing bitcoin going to $10K. We still needed $2K more to reach that goal and we don't know what the future brings. We may see another roadblocks ahead that may pull the price back again. We all love to see it one day, and I also like to see it before Christmas time or at the end of the year so that all of us can make profit this season.

I'm sure that there are tons of investors will to pour cash to the system to push the price to $10K, but we need to wait. We don't want the price to artificially pump by those manipulators because we all know that after a big pump a crash is bound to happen.
