81  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Do not share your bitcoin holdings with everyone on: December 07, 2023, 08:59:38 PM
This is what has me confused.  How exactly do people who get your bitcoin convert it to money that they can use though?  The thing is none of them would ever cash out directly to their bank account right since there isn't an owner of it.  So couldn't that person who sends the btc to their bank account just say they had it from back then though?  I heard you can't even use mixers anymore so how could they even get the money out without an issue?

The only way would be they sell btc to someone for cash right?  However I don't think it's even legal to do that in the US?  And if you do sell it for cash, well it won't be that big of an amount.  The other issue would be  would the buyer of the btc have issues when they try to cashout to an exchange?  I remember reading about that case of that couple who hacked the big exchange and got caught but they are doing that with a big exchange.  But if it was a regular person, I'm still somehow confused how the person who stole or hacked the coins from someone would have issue sending it to exchange to cashout unless it was never reported?  Even if it's reported, does that mean the thief or hacker can't cash out the coins?  However, these coins aren't tainted or bad coins right?  Now if you hack an exchange or something like that, I heard the coins are tainted so the thief can't cash it out.  But how is it different if it's a thief doing that to a regular person though?

83  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: How to view cryptocurrency prices secretly on phone? on: December 06, 2023, 10:27:24 PM
The thing is if you keep the phone you check btc price at home, well then anything you can on the main phone while in public won't show that you view btc price in public.

The thing is it would be better for this person to not check btc price while in public.  I already mentioned this already.  That is why that person would check btc price on their old phone that they keep in their home and when clicking on google chrome icon on the old phone, it would then go to the bitstamp website that I set it at a while back.

So how can this person do this now that their old phone doesn't work anymore.  This is really a simple question and people keep asking saying things that I have explained or didn't read correctly.
84  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: 🔷 Waves Tech - a powerful blockchain-agnostic ecosystem on: December 06, 2023, 08:34:19 PM
Okay so the name of the stablecoina associated with waves is usdn or neutrino and it's worth $0.09 now.  Has it been that way for a long time?  So it isn't going to recover then right?

However, can waves still go up a lot in price or not anymore?

Anyone?
85  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: How to view cryptocurrency prices secretly on phone? on: December 06, 2023, 07:45:05 PM
Read the post again.  This is not about me.  This is about someone else who isn't tech savy and they want to check btc price a few times a day while at home.  Back then, I would use one of this person's old phone and just go to bitstamp website in the chrome browser on their oldphone.  So anytime that person want to view btc price, that person would do this while at home and then when checking on their old phone, they first have to enter the passcode to the phone, then click on chrome browser and it would show the updated btc price on the bitstamp website.

Then the next time they check btc price again, they would have to enter the passcode to the phone again.  Then open chrome browser and it would be on bitstamp.  So here, they would not be checking btc price in public.  Also the phone has a passcode so the person has to enter passcode before clicking on chrome browser to check the price on bitstamp.  Again, bitstamp website is what loads every time you click on the chrome browser.  The issue is they don't have an extra phone and no laptop.  So how would this person check btc price at home on their regular phone they use in public.  In public, the person could easily open the chrome or safari tab and someone would notice the bitstamp site.  So based on this, what are the options?  Someone said one of those screens but how exactly do they work?  However, that still isn't what is best.  The thing is want it similar to how it was with the old phone.
86  Economy / Gambling / Re: Casinos not asking for KYC to register and play, but do require it to withdraw on: December 06, 2023, 07:24:51 PM
Is there a reason people play on online casinos that use crypto vs say traditional payments?  Example like using skrill for example?

Also what casinos online don't you cashout even when you submit the KYC later?  Examples?

Now when you create an account on their online casinos that use crypto as deposit and payment method, they do ask you for your address correct or not?  Or only your name?  So what if you send them your passport and it's US but you are abroad and the utility bill you give them is where you are located and abroad?  Also you never use a vpn.  There is no issue there right?  The thing is if you entered your name and abroad address at signup, there should be no issue?  But are there casino online sites that don't even ask you to enter your address besides just your name though?  Then you might have a problem?
87  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / What percentage of people claimed BTC Forks? on: December 06, 2023, 07:21:25 PM
Only one I claimed was bitcoin cash and this was a while back.  I haven't claimed bitcoin gold or sv.  I also found out there is ecash and bitcoin diamond that one can claim?

Assuming you didn't leave your bitcoin when the forks happened back then in exchanges like coinbase.... you would have to claim those forks yourself.  What percentage of people claimed their bitcoin cash and gold?  What about SV?  Got to assume very few if any claimed SV?  Bitcoin cash had the most then gold?  Then I read there is ecash as well and bitcoin diamond?  I heard back then there were like 30 or more bitcoin forks but they weren't real?

How many bitcoin forks did you claim?  Also why would anyone not claim it?  What would be the reason?  I know you suppose to move the btc from the wallet where you kept the btc to a different wallet first before you claim the forks as many would require you to enter the seed phrase of it to claim the forks.  But if you did that, is there a reason why many people didn't claim it?  For me, it's because it is very confusing with many of the forks.  Bitcoin cash was simple though.  Bitcoin gold seems simple but didn't do it.  Bitcoin SV seems a bit complicated but doesn't seem that hard but people mention about no protection replay which makes me not want to do it and not sure what that means.  Ecash seems very confusing and bitcoin diamond seems like something completely different.  Do people even know about ecash or bitcoin diamond?

Who here has claimed most or all of them and was it for you?

Did anyone here just kept their btc in exchanges and if so which exchanges and then just got their bitcoin forks through exchange and didn't bother with any of this?
88  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Short Term Trading Altcoins and Meme Coins? on: December 06, 2023, 07:14:19 PM
In the last few months, can anyone name me regular altcoins that 5x or 10x?  Are there any that 25x or 50x or 100x?

In the last few months, what about memecoins that 5x or 10?  Or 25x or 50x or 100x?

There are obviously tons of more 25x and up in the memecoins correct?  The thing is if you buy memecoins, like 99.9% of these coins are basically coins you trade short term correct?  Like the only memecoins throughout the years that has still been around is dogecoin.  And maybe shiba inu?  All those other memecoins seem to be coins that if you buy, you basically have to sell it within few months at the most?  Many probably a week maybe?  It seems memecoins are almost all pump and dumps correct?  So just find some and as long as you make whatever x amount, then get out?  That is what I mean by trading memecoins.

What site can you find out about new altcoins before they suddenly show up in the top 100 in coinmarketcap though?

Are there people that short term trade meme coins?  I assume very few if any and most of those traders lose right?  It should be majority altcoins and very little memecoins?

Also what exchanges must you have access to?  If you can only use coinbase and gemini... you have to be able to use uniswap or pancakeswap right?  Even if you can't use binance, then it's still fine as long as you have those memecoin exchanges?
89  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Best Site For Updated Cryptocurrency Prices Without Refreshing Browser? on: December 06, 2023, 07:09:17 PM
So some people mention why would this person want to check btc price a few times a day when they don't own any.  The reason is because they are related to someone close that has some btc and that person told them about it.

So this person wants to check the btc price for that reason.  Also that person told me they might have to buy some as well sometime later on most likely if it continues to go up.  The thing was I told this person well if you check btc price, do it at home but the issue is the old that person used to check btc price at home no longer works anymore.  Back then I went to the bitstamp website on that old phone that the person keeps at home so anything they want to check the price, they just enter their old phone passcode and then click on chrome and it would show the current price on bitstamp.  Then click on the button to close the phone.  So if they were to click on the phone again, they have to enter the passcode.  The point of this was I didn't want to do this on their main phone that they use and in public because if they do check it while in public and other people notice it, other people would assume this person has btc which they don't.

So because this person does not have an extra phone or computer, what is the best way?  If it was me with just one main phone and nothing else and I want to check btc price in public, I would be careful checking it and everytime I check it, I would then erase the chrome or safari browsing history or just check it in incognito mode.  Having the other person erase the history or incognito mode would be very hard for them to do each time.  I mean they can still do that on their main phone but only check it at home right?  The issue here is that person would have to write down the bitstamp site on a piece of paper and leave that at home since each time they delete the history or incognito mode, they have to check on paper how to do it.  Let say that person wants to do it in incognito mode.  First they have to know how to do that.  Then after that, they have to remember the bitstamp website spelling.  Then only after that, close the browser.  The issue is the next time they visit the website again, they would have to look at the spelling of the website.  Get it?  So in this situation, best way for this person to check btc price at home where there would be no history of it?
90  Other / Beginners & Help / How to view cryptocurrency prices secretly on phone? on: December 05, 2023, 04:46:23 AM
So someone that I know wants to check the current btc price whenever they want.  The thing is they are not tech savy at all.  What I did last time was use an old android phone that they had and entered that bitstamp website into the google chrome browser on their android phone.  So everytime that person uses that android phone and enters the passcode to unlock the phone, they would click on the chrome browser and then it would show the current btc price on bitstamp.  They would then click that button to turn off the screen so if they wanted to check the btc price again, they have to enter the passcode etc.  The thing is this android phone is an old phone and very slow so it isn't their main phone.  The reason I did that as oppose to entering the bitstamp website on their phone that they use is because if they check the bitstamp price while in public, imagine someone else looking at their phone when in public, that person would assume they have cryptocurrency.  That person doesn't have any but wants to check the prices only.  So because of that, I thought best idea is ask them if they have another phone or computer that they leave at home to use so they check it that way so did that with the android phone.

Now that android phone no longer works and that person wants to check btc price.  What are their options for this?  They do not have another spare phone and no computer at all.  I don't want that person to check cryptocurrency prices in public on their regular iphone in case someone looks at it and assumes they have cryptocurrency which they do not have.  I did thought about telling that person to only check it whenever they are at home and they are fine with that.  The issue with this would be everytime they check the btc price at home on say bitstamp with their regular phone, well if they open the google browser on their phone in public, it would then display bitstamp.  So I thought telling that person to delete their web search history each time on google chrome on their phone would work but this would be a huge hassle for someone not tech savy.  Also they would have to enter bitstamp website every single time and since that person isn't tech savy, I would have to write the bitstamp website on paper for them to leave at home and they type it every single time on their iphone.  Does anyone here have any alternatives to this?  The other thing I thought was download the bitstamp app?  However, can you view updated current prices with any of those apps if you don't have an account with that site?  That person owns no cryptocurrency and does not have any account at any of the exchanges.  That person just wants to check btc price at home say a few times a day.

Now if any of the apps do work for this, which one would it be?  I guess a safe way would be make sure that crypto app is on the last page of their iphone apps?  So the only way to get there is scroll once or twice to there?  Again the thing is I don't want that person to use their iphone in public and when playing around with the pihone, go to or even click on the crypto app by accident where other people might notice it and think that person has crypto.  I always heard people say you shouldn't even keep any crypto apps on your phone for safety reasons.  So in this situation, best thing to do?

If that person had another spare phone or a laptop even, well that would be very simple.

Anyone have opinion on this?

91  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Best Site For Updated Cryptocurrency Prices Without Refreshing Browser? on: December 05, 2023, 04:29:33 AM
Coinmarketcap seems to be the main one it seems?  The other would be gemini where you click on prices?  For binance when I check it as a non user... because I can't have an account there, it doesn't update unless I refresh it every single time.  I had a binance account a while back but can no longer use.  I only have accounts on coinbase and gemini.  Do prices update for all crypto when logged into my coinbase account?

So if you don't want to be logged into an exchange account, what sites allow you to view up to date crypto prices without refreshing?  Seems like gemini is the only one?  Kraken and Bitstamp would work as well?  Anyone know why binance non US doesn't autorefresh?
92  Other / Off-topic / Questions About Malware/Virus/Keyloggers? on: December 05, 2023, 04:14:33 AM
If you have a hardware wallet, anything that you download on a windows laptop has no impact even if you use ledger live with your hardware wallet right as long as you are careful the address you are sending to is correct right?  Thus if you try to send crypto with your nano ledger, well if it shows a different btc address than the one you copy and pasted to it, well as long as you make sure you notice the address change, you are fine right?  But if you have a laptop that has this issue, you have to use another laptop with ledger live or format your laptop in order to send correct?

Now let's say you use electrum on your windows laptop.  If you were to download a torrent that has malware or virus or keylogger, does that mean your btc in electrum is at risk?  And if so, how much at risk will it be?  I assume if you don't have a password for electrum, then that is the worst but if you have one, that is still bad but not as bad?  However, what if you download a file or exe file or torrent but never open it?  Is your laptop still safe or not?  What about electrum?  Now what if you click on a phishing link from a fake trustwallet or coinbase etc.  I read they ask you enter your seed phrase.  Now if you do not enter any seed phrase and just close the link, do you have malware or virus or keylogger?  So would an antivirus like norton or kaspersky total be enough to check if you have any malware or not 100%?  So in this situation if you accidentally clicked on a link like that, do you have to format your laptop or it's usually fine if you didn'topen an file or enter the seed?  What if say you visit streaming sites whether to watch a sports even or adult videos and stream those videos.  Since those sites have tons of ads, is there a huge risk of you getting your computer infected or not?  What if you have ublock origin?  Is that enough or not?

Now the same can be said when there are a lot of links on youtube comments.  If you click on any of those links on youtube comments, do you risk losing crypto in your electrum or trust wallet in your windows laptop or not?  I heard mixed opinions from some people saying if you click on a link and don't enter the seed or enter any information, you are fine.  Is that true or false?  What about downloading a file and opening it?  That would mean your computer has malware and any electrum or trustwallet you have will be hacked?  Now what if it's a PDF file someone sends you and you open it?  Same thing?  But will opening that PDF file mean someone can empty your electrum or trust wallet account?  What if you don't open the PDF file but preview it?  Is that the same or not?
93  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Short Term Trading Altcoins and Meme Coins? on: December 04, 2023, 11:19:57 PM
If you going to short term trade altcoins, is using coinbase and gemini enough or not?  The issue is lot of altcoins are available on other exchanges like binance and kraken where others don't have access to.

What about meme coins?  I mean even binance and kraken doesn't have that right usually?  So for meme coins that are pump and dumps and other similar coins, you have to use uniswap and pancakeswap and those are the 2 main exchanges for that and it isn't restricted to anyone regardless of location right?  But you need ETH if you want to trade in those places?  These are decentralized exchanges correct?

97  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Meme Coins Question? on: December 02, 2023, 06:46:47 PM
So I never traded before and considering to do it now.  I know you can trade btc, eth and the main big coins.  There are also ton of altcoins out there like solana which is considered a big altcoin, and altcoins like stellar lumens which is a popular altcoin.  Then you have memecoins like dogecoin and many others that are on uniswap and pancakeswap.  I never used uniswao pr pancakeswap.

Now if you want to do short term trading such as buy these altcoins and meme coins and sell them... let say it could be as short as few hours to the most as in a month or so.  But let say you want to be trading daily and thus probably don't want to hold a coin more than a week or so and just want to lock in profits if they have a target price for each altcoin or memecoin you buy.  Do lot of people do this?  Now obviously if you want to make money short term, this wouldn't be possible if the crypto market is going down right?  Thus if btc is going down a lot, pretty much all altcoins follow right?  Very few altcoins go up when bitcoin goes down.  However, I recall many of these memecoins don't exactly follow bitcoin''s price going up or down right?  I'm talking about those memecoins that show up and then probably are gone within few weeks.  Now these memecoins are all frauds right?  I forgot the exact term that is used for these but it's when creator of a coin puts it and then people buy and then the price drops... what's the term for this?  But even if you buy those coins and then sell when you make a profit, it's fine right as long as you don't hold these coins at the end when price falls?

If you are planning to trade and make short term trades... do you suggest normal altcoins?  By normal altcoins I mean any altcoin in the top 100.  But probably it should be the top 50 or so.  What about memecoins?  Seems with memecoins you can make a lot more in what you put in right but the risk is higher?  However if you put say $1000 in a memecoin. It can 10x.  You can't really do that with any real altcoin in the top 100 that isn't a memecoin right?  Now if the memecoin goes to almost 0... well you only lose $1000.  But you can 5x or 10x your memecoin right?  So as of now and recently, are there altcoins or memecoins like that?  Such that you buy it and hold on to it for few days or week or weeks and then as long as you sell it before the price plummets you profit?

The other question is if you plan to do this type of trading, what exchanges do you have to use?  I only have access to coinbase and gemini so I can only trade in real altcoins so to speak.  Sure you can invest in dogecoin which is a memecoin but it's a top altcoin in a real exchange lilke coinbase and gemini.  But when you talk about those memecoins... what exchange will you have to use?  Is it only uniswap and pancakeswap?  With them, you need to have ETH right?  Thus you send ETH to it and then buy those memecoins?  However, I heard in those exchanges, you have to use wbtc or something like that?  How does that work?  But in the end when you cash out if you can, you would be withdrawing ETH back right from uniswap or pancakeswap?  Or can you withdraw say usdt or usdc or btc back to your wallet?

Anyone here who trade altcoins and especially memecoins and give insight on this?  Also it's hard to 5x even with altcoins now right?  But memecoins it isn't?  Just the risk is much higher?  Now if you could buy 5 memecoins and one of them 10x and the other ones go to zero... then you profit right?  Also do all memecoins and altcoins go to 0?  Or it's always like $0.01 or $0.0000001?

It wouldn't make sense to buy a 3d printer to make a case for it because buying the case from overpriced case from ledger is over 40 dollars only.  I wouldn't have any use of a 3d printer.

Can you show examples of a case that can be created with a 3d printer?  I didn't even know a 3d printer can make a phone case.  I just checked to look at what a 3d printer can make.  But what else you need to spend on besides the 3d printer?  Ink... but what else?
