801  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Will you gamble till old age or not on: October 02, 2023, 06:38:35 PM
Actually, I don't plan to gamble at all, if I feel I want to then I will whether it's 30 or 60 as far as I can afford to gamble. I have no idea how my old age will be, and thinking about gambling at that time wasn't even in my teeny-tiny thoughts.

Don't bother yourself with such deep thoughts now which you can figure it out at that time depending on how you want it to be. Cheesy
802  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Casino is a Games of Chance and Entertainment on: October 02, 2023, 03:27:14 PM
The outcome of the majority of casino games is mostly controlled by luck rather than ability. Examples that are often used include craps, roulette, and slot machines. Players wager on numerous outcomes in these games, and the casino has an inherent advantage that ensures they will profit in the long term.
Casino gaming is a popular source of entertainment. Instead of looking at it as a means of making money, players should approach it with the intention of having fun.

This has been told a million times already or even more in the gambling discussion itself still we need awareness about gambling as just a form of entertainment?

Gambling can be done once in a while or weekly, with monthly allocated budgets if you are more attracted towards gambling than other forms of entertainment but it should never be seen as a way to make easy money and become rich or considered as an investment so over time they can more money than they wagered, if they do then they are just lazy prick.

Whoever needs money then start working on something where you can break the system which is absolutely not possible in the casino system that is why it is still successful and lucrative over centuries.
803  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Before you take sides on: October 02, 2023, 10:42:19 AM
.
.
For reputable casinos, banning players that have won a lot of money legally is bad for their business, the casinos knows that the word of the mouth spreads faster than anything, so I believe that a reputable casino do their strong research before they use their ban hammer.

Before you take sides with gamblers claiming they get banned for winning too much, remember that casinos are good at monitoring and preventing fraudulent behaviors, you break some rules you are out, and no cheater want to admit that they cheat.

I want to remind you that mistakes can happen even in reputable casinos and also happened in the past if you look at the scam accusation section.

But what differentiates the reputed casino and shit ones is if there is something happened due to a mistake from the casino they have to accept it and willing to revoke/refund/unban or whatever they are supposed to do and it also acts as a sign that the casino care about their reputation more than anything also there are others who try to cover up the situation by changing the terms after the incident happened and refuse to even address it damages their name.

Now in reality 95% of mistakes from the user side as far as I have seen but the gamblers can't accept their mistake and are willing to throw wild accusations against the casino which is mostly because due to the frustrations that arise from loss.
804  Economy / Economics / Re: How do you manage your finances and family if your income is low range? on: October 02, 2023, 08:22:15 AM
There are many people around us, where their income is not enough to manage a family how do you manage your family and economy? There are many people who manage their family very well even though their income is very low in their personal life, how do you manage it?

I can relate to the situation very well because I was in that situation 2016-17 period where the business went broke and left me with nothing so I had to work for a job which is just enough to feed my family.

I had to take swift action by clearing my debt by selling the assets so I don't feel the pressure on my head then I could think about what I should do further and even if you start from zero you can do multiple works to increase the source of revenue then only you can survive which means if you are earning low and isn't enough to meet your needs then you need to increase the source of income by doing side hustle or whatever it takes.

If you try to settle for low income and try to minimize your lifestyle then it is never going to be enough cause as far as I remember the inflation rate has just been overkill with salary appraisal all these years so unless you break the hurdle you will never cross the hanging bridge for entire life.

snip~
I asked support the reason and now i am waiting for their aswer... but i wouldn't even be here complain if somehow i was against their ToS, like using VPN or multiaccounting..

So you are sure that you didn't do anything that violates the terms of the events as well as the standard ToS of the platform.

Then they owe you an explanation.

Duelbits representative of bitcointalk hasn't active for months in bitcointalk so you wait for a day or two to get a reply from the support and if you still haven't got any reply then you can PM @Hhampuz via bitcointalk forum because he is the one who can contact the platform (correct me if I am wrong guys) and surely he will help you out regarding this.

IMO, they have no reason to deny rewards if they don't have evidence because they are spending thousands of dollars every week in the forum itself to spread the brand.
806  Economy / Gambling / Re: Duelbits.com | Casino & Sportsbook | VIP | Instant withdrawals!|ARGENTINA & AVFC on: October 01, 2023, 03:13:00 PM

Well, no problem after all, just wait.. but today i asked again in support and got another very different answer: " Dear customer, as our Management team mentioned, you have been disqualified from the Tournament due to the promotion abuse. This decision is irreversible. Have a wonderful day."

I am not sure the exact terms and conditions of the promotion of that particular event

But most of the events have such rule like

Quote
Duelbits reserves the right to exclude any player or group of players at its own discretion, including, but not limited to users it deems abusing the Promotion.

So go ahead and seek support about the reason why you were disqualified!

But my guess is you may have more than one account or ever used a free VPN service which will lead to violating their one account per IP term but you can clarify it from their support.

from Italy this promo appears on the home page, unfortunately I think there is a writing error I think you wanted write "Ricevi"? or "Receive"?.

Yeah, it seems a clear typo and we can witness from the picture itself where you pointed out where there is Ricveci at top but at the bottom used the right word Ricevi.
807  Economy / Gambling / Re: Duelbits.com | Casino & Sportsbook | VIP | Instant withdrawals!|ARGENTINA & AVFC on: October 01, 2023, 07:11:46 AM
Hi all. I was withdrawn my funds exactly a week later. And there was no answer from them
It means your KYC documents were accepted and now you have access to the withdrawal tab, sorry that you waited too long which is unfortunate for anyone to happen but it could happen cause they might be swamped with a lot of support tickets so the queue was longer than a usual or something else.

When you are stuck with such a condition don't keep sending the request which will make things more complicated than they are.
808  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Do you think Satoshi got rid of his private keys? on: September 30, 2023, 07:50:16 PM

3. He got rid of them on purpose,

This is what I have in my mind as to why he didn't try to use the money he created and it kind of makes sense too because if he actually moved the funds then there may a speculation be ignited all over the world that Bitcoin is just another kind of rug pull or something but what if he never touches even though the value of those assets are astonishingly high at current market value.

But after all these years no one knows what happened to Satoshi, or if he is even a real single person and nothing and he Just wanted to be another case like D.B. Copper and remain an unsolved mystery forever.
809  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: HODL is purely a mental challenge on: September 30, 2023, 05:40:17 PM
HODL only required to transfer our coins on very rare occasions (if at all), which minimizes transferring or storage errors.
You are right, but HODLers are also very careful with their recovery seeds cause if we don't use it more often then chances of losing it also high so it is important to keep the recovery seeds in physical form and somewhere secure.

A good HODLer can resist any temptation to make (small) profits prematurely and a good HODLer keeps his Bitcoin.
A good HODLer stays cool even in case of losses. Best we can do is to move our valuable Bitcoin somewhere where it has a high resistance of being sold.
We didn't lose anything until we sold the assets which may be really hard to understand for someone who is new to the investment but once they get used to it I mean at least a cycle then they will realize what they can potentially make at the bear run if they are prepared to accumulate more coins at the highest possible discounted price.

After all, it's a very important lesson to know that HODL is purely a mental challenge. If you want to HODL correctly, you should know and pay attention to all points mentioned above.  Smiley

Anything related to money is just a game of our emotions so one who knows how to control it when the market goes other ways will succeed more than those who will react to everything and fall for the traps of whale's traps.
810  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Have you seen gambling advertisements on TV? Opinion. on: September 30, 2023, 03:30:10 PM
If I am not wrong in many countries advertising TV commercials is somewhat prohibited or restricted and also gambling platforms concentrate more on serious ways of advertising than just making funny ads on TV and expecting people to use them.

For example, casinos create sponsorship offer deals with popular franchise link football clubs then their logo will be in their jersey or some sort of it so whenever the team plays and the game Aired there will be millions of viewers watching the casino logo too and that is going to bring the actual customers and also creates more brand value to their name which adds further benefits.
I'm not sure whether casinos don't consider it a serious way of advertising or not but I guess you are right that most countries have a restriction or prohibition on gambling-related TV commercials because I've never seen one my entire life, maybe they are allowed in countries where gambling is legal but I also think that one reason for this might be because minors also watch TV and they know it isn't a good thing to show kids gambling advertisements.

I am sure there is, and just the same restrictions for cigarette, Liquor, and many others even in the country where those things are legal you can't see their advertisements on TV commercials. So they have to find other ways to brand their names and successfully do it in many other ways which are more effective, a lot cheaper than air an ad on TV and especially I don't know how many people are really watching TV in these busy days and we got everything in our palm so-called smartphone.
811  Bitcoin / Wallet software / Re: Question about Imported wallet and its address on: September 30, 2023, 01:45:25 PM

Never also taught about this, but thanks for bringing it up; we have to try that out too. My previous trust wallet was multi, but I don't have any altcoin balance on it that I can remember. I use Metamask for altcoins, but I will have to try this out some day, and for the part of it not having a sign-in message option, unless there is any need for it in the future, if not, I don't think I will need it for now, and if need be, I will look for a way to cross that bridge.

If your current portfolio has only Bitcoin then Electrum is enough but as stated move the funds to freshly created wallets never import wallets from addresses that are created by the closed source wallets. Metamask is available on Android too but I guess it's not that great cause you can see people complain about bugs and crashes in the reviews section. Whereas Unstoppable wallet is great compared to others but it may take a while to get used to it due to different UI and for the record Theymos even recommended it.

If you have a large variety of different crypto assets that you need to store, there's Unstoppable wallet.
812  Bitcoin / Wallet software / Re: Is using a remote node safe? on: September 30, 2023, 09:03:01 AM
You have to rely on a third-party node to validate your TX which has privacy issues that I won't say are a risk to your Bitcoin but really a bad thing if you are someone who prefers anonymity.

Another downside is the Nodes can see your IP as well as keep a log of it so potentially be used to track your Bitcoin transactions and if they manage to link IP with your identity.
813  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Re: Bitcoin Mempool Mismatch Between Nodes on: September 29, 2023, 07:31:54 PM
I don't know the exact reason for this but it may be due to the difference in the configuration setting, so check if there is any difference in mempool related setting using bitcoin.conf.

That however was never an issue before the last several months. Perhaps it has something to do with the ordinals spamming?
Possibly yes, because Stale blocks formed in the main chain but don't belong to the chain now so one of your nodes picked up the spam blocks and the other didn't pick those broadcasted from peers so the difference in numbers maybe the reason as well.

Still, let the experts of technical knowledge to find the actual reason.

Meanwhile, you can check this out that explains about stale blocks
Quote
The difference in size is due to the number of stale blocks that your node stores. Stale blocks are blocks that once formed the part of the main chain but is not belong to the main chain now.

For example, if say two blocks are mined at height 102 at the same time. When the miner relays the block through the gossip network, the network that is closer to miner 1 will receive its block (102a) first as compared to block mined by miner 2 (102b). Bitcoin core adds the first received valid block to the tip of the chain. The blocks received at the same height after that are not deleted but kept in the database just in case a reorganization happens. So, if the next block 103 is mined on top of block 102b then the node that received 102a first will reorganize its chain to one that contains 102b as shown below.

101 -->102a
    \
     \
       102b --> 103 -->104

Bitcoin Core does not delete any valid block that it receives from its peers. It is stored in your database forever in the file blocks/blk****.dat (which is also same for blocks in the main chain). However, the software does not relay stale blocks. In order to receive stale blocks, you need to be online at the time when your peer broadcasted a block to you from different chain view. Peers will only broadcast those blocks that they view form the current active chain from their perspective. So you will only have the stale blocks that you received when you were online. This also mean you will need to be connected to peers that view one the tip of the chain that is different from other peers. Due to this variability, many nodes will have different view of the sizes of the Bitcoin blockchain

Here we go again!
This spree is almost similar to the last one but a little higher in the number of merits sent which is 8 merits higher than previous one which is 441.

My Italian friend, you're late. You're losing your faculties. It's obvious that those females you're rubbing shoulders with are making you lose your concentration.

Just let him enjoy his Friday night. Cheesy

Still, we need @fillippone cause he is the one who is going to come up with the details of this spree so that we can find who enters the top 10 list, how many users got merited, and everything.
815  Bitcoin / Wallet software / Re: Question about Imported wallet and its address on: September 29, 2023, 03:12:22 PM

Reading through posts about the best Bitcoin wallet to use here in this forum, I happened to understand that TrustWallet is not in any way recommended as it is not open source, so now I decided to use my old wallet created using the TrustWallet multiwallet option, which accepts both bitcoin and other altcoins (that apart).

Electrum and blue wallet is a great choice and you already received the answer you are seeking. But its bitcoin-only wallet and since you are looking for an alternative to trust wallet which is multi-crypto wallet available in both IOS and android then the best alternative for that is Unstoppable Wallet Which is open source multi-crypto available on both Android and IOS.

URL: https://unstoppable.money/
Github: https://github.com/horizontalsystems

Also, their supported coins and tokens can be found here: https://www.cryptowisser.com/wallet/unstoppable-wallet/coins?page=1

Note: Unstoppable wallet doesn't provide coin control and sign-a-message features, so it is only suitable for the rest of your altcoins.
816  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Credit card gambling fuels gambling addiction on: September 29, 2023, 08:17:07 AM
Imagine someone you know telling you that it will take him 12 years to pay off his debt, I now know why few countries don't want their citizens to gamble using their credit cards,  betting on credit cards has left too many people in thousands of debt.
If someone says that it will take 12 years to pay back their credit card dues then I bet my life savings against them that they can never pay it back in their lifetime.

I am saying this is because the interest rate of credit card per annum starts from 24% and can go over 60% in developed countries so imagine the rate in other countries and the worst thing is the interest rate will be levied again and again on your entire dues which will result in a compounding effect.

Which makes me think that Credit card is far more helping to fuel gambling addiction more than anything else, you don't actually have the money, but you can still gamble, this alone will make people to lose their minds and gamble anyhow.

You are not supposed to use your credit card unless you are sure that you can pay back the due on time no matter what this applies to personal loans too because it is the type of loan that has high-interest rates and if you miss a payment it will take a big hit on your credit line and take years to build that lost scores.

But banks are to be blamed here because they make these people get their credit cards so they can make middle-class people fall for this so they can keep sucking all money from them. I will definitely not encourage the countries that ban credit cards from gambling sites because it can affect the people who are using it in the right way so they are going to miss the cashback and many other rewards just because ignorant people are doing wrong.
817  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Betting Tips for Consistent Profits on: September 29, 2023, 04:40:31 AM

When we get into our cars, we are risking the chances of getting into an accident. Depending on where you live, try driving in Bangkok to get what we’re saying here, the risk of driving and getting into an accident could be high or low. It depends. The risk exists, though.

Still, the is no term that there is zero chance for collision on any road, Imagine you are driving on a freeway slow lane still there is possibility of hit by something even from the opposite track, my mind flashed with incoming truck wheel from nowhere. Cheesy
In sports betting, we risk our money, our hard earned dollars, for potential monetary rewards. So we must weigh the risk against the reward.

You are right, a better understanding of what you are betting and whether the bet is worth taking the risk against the money you are betting is needed to be called smart and responsible gambling but never rule out the chances of losing a game from nowhere it happens almost on every sport like underdog beat the top runners, so always include the negative result of bet too which will make sure that you are not betting higher money than you can afford to lose.
818  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gambling game is not good and everyone should stay away from it on: September 28, 2023, 02:37:18 PM
Everyone stay away from gambling game then you all will be happy and happy Gambling game is very bad which will harm your family a lot and will also harm your life like my father gambling ruined my father's life and also my future is dark now I am now  I came back to this bitcoin to find light in my life in this darkness you all help me shine.

Gambling is bad from a religious perspective but in realistically whether it is good or depends on how much we consume it.

Gambling just just one form of entertainment so people can be a gambler and enjoy a healthy life way as long as they are doing it moderate level, things will affect you negatively when it starts to become compulsive like taking loans to bet money so in a sense you will make more money but you are not supposed to bet the money you don't have and assume what will be your situation if you loss the bet and puts you in the debt trap.

The concept of being a responsible gambler is discussed over and over in bitcointalk so who knows even you may change your point of view about gambling once you understand the way of approaching it.
819  Bitcoin / Hardware wallets / Re: Without power, how many years can a hardware wallet retain data? on: September 28, 2023, 12:27:24 PM
Quote
Whereas hardware Wallets uses SLC (Single-level cell) which provides the highest endurance possible with expected 100K P/E cycles so technically it can last longer than the USB drives but I don't expect it to last longer, than 5 to 10 years because the durability is affected by various other factors too so even if you keep HW safe you need to have physical backup(s) of your recovery seeds.

If it use SLC, then there's nothing to worry about. Another post discussed the lifespan of hardware wallets, and the conclusion was that it's similar to regular electronic products (around 5 years). I rarely find relevant data in the user manuals. I bought three high-end encrypted USB drives, two of which are 32GB for $25, and the customer service told me they use TLC. The other one is 8GB for $40, and even the customer service doesn't know what type of flash memory it uses.

The hardware wallet is not just any other USB, it is specifically designed to store the data stored in securely even if the device is connected to a malware-infected device. Of course. every electronic device has a life span but all I am saying is Hardware wallets can last longer than any USB you can because of the type of NAND used and it is specifically designed for that purpose

The issue is that the backup of the mnemonic phrases is also partly stored in an encrypted electronic format. So I am very concerned about the longevity of the storage medium.
You are not supposed to store the recovery seeds in the same device cause it voids the actual purpose of the recovery seeds.
820  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Longest winning streak on Blackjack on: September 28, 2023, 11:15:29 AM
What's your longest winning streak in Blackjack? You can share here your record such as screenshots to inspire other player.

I am not really a blackjack player, I'm more of a dice roller and my most winning streak is probably with 6 or 7 consecutive wins at most.

I just want to remind you that sharing the winning streak of your's and others are not supposed to inspire and try to replicate the same because its a known fact that gambling is just a matter of luck with a little bit of skill in games like Blackjack still you can't ensure that you can win unless you do the trick of counting cards which is against the casino rules.
