I'm sure it does limit bitcoin somewhat, but remember this is still in beta. For a beta level new technology it is not particularly hard.

I would say buying gold was one of the first things to become part of the bitcoin economy. I haven't in a while, but I have sold some gold for BTC.

I fear our biggest challenge is to get a commitment from the world. The changes we must make to live another 500 years on Earth may be more than people are willing to do. Recycling, buying a hybrid car, those things are like dripping water on a house fire. We would need to stop burning anything for at least a few hundred years. No cars, no heating your home, no cooking. Even then it would continue to hotter for centuries.

I don't see anything scammy about this. Although, interest could drop and the project could fall apart with your donation going to waste. I wonder what else we could print that we aren't supposed to have?

ah interesting, i remember watching it long time ago, she was already a christian but not practicing christian , don't think there was any 'converting'
what would be interesting is if she was a muslim , how would she respond ?
watching all the other videos by kirk
yeah, that one was not really a conversion. I think I did see one where he "converted" a Muslim. To me all of them are about the conversion of a minor actor into a fringe element con-man. Look at his partner Ray Comfort. Funny stuff watching him struggle with reason. Like his assertion that bananas could only have been made by a creator to fit so perfectly into your hand. Funny thing is he's right. Modern bananas were created to fit in your hand by people.

No... wait, I mean NO! Unless you are going to go big, you should go home.

Remember when the world was flat because we all "believed" it? ![Smiley](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/smiley.gif) By the way, this is not a Muslim thing. I think he is copying this from a Christian show I have seen on TV. It's by some washed-up child actor who goes around "converting" people on the street. He asks a dimwit some leading questions that prove you are really a Christian. ![Roll Eyes](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/rolleyes.gif) i'd like to see that, if you could post some links please, thanks Found it: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=g6F-8tzjAu8The actor is Kirk Cameron

Ya, The problem is there are no outlets in Madison, they are all out in the sticks. My old stompin' grounds. You gotta get Bitcoin Magazine on State Street in the college bookstores. They won't buy them, but they'll read them ragged and maybe subscribe. Will do. I also plan on leaving a copy at the 2600 meeting site. It's in a basement near a set of unusual phone booths.

I like Siddhartha's definition. The purpose of life is to be joyful and bring joy to others.

Interesting read. Now for the price of a machine-gun you can have your own machine-gun factory. Well, maybe a zip gun factory. There is a hackerspace here in Madison with a 3-D printer. I think it's time to take the "how to" class.

Disclosure: Raised Church of Christ, now atheist. Surprised to see so many atheists here. I know like 2 IRL
You may know more than you think. Since we are not looking for converts it may just not come up in conversation.

I've gotten two donations (bitcent range). Unfortunately the first one is when I found out that I had not correctly pasted my address, it was sent to oblivion. ![Angry](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/angry.gif)

How many of the victims had guns? Was this the third shooting this year in a "defenseless victim zone?"
Well, it was a Sikh temple, so it can be assumed they all had knives... http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/KirpanYeah, I'm a little surprised considering being armed is a requirement of the religion. But I guess that is just dogmatic at this stage. Well, it's getting harder for these nuts to find a place where people are unarmed. A gun is the only thing that can keep you safe from a gunman. If you are in a place that does not allow conceal carry, you could try running I guess?? But you will likely just die tired. Doesn't matter, ppl carry illegally anyhow. Example, look at the Chicago's shootings/killings/murders that happen every night. On average it is 10-15 shot and/or killed, including from adults to children. The ones who carry without a license are the ones I'm worried about. They face years in jail if caught. Anyone that irresponsible should not be trusted with a gun. It's true that many of the most restrictive places in the USA have the highest murder rates with guns. Chicago is a good example. Ill is the last state to not allow conceal carry, and Chicago is one of the most dangerous places in the US. Along with Washington D.C., Los Angles, and New York city; all have high gun murder rates and draconian gun laws. Now compare that to rural Texas where everyone you meet has a gun, and no one knows anybody who has been killed by a gun.

Sell for what? Something spat out of a printing press and called 'real money' because its backed by a broken system? This is the first time I've bothered saving in my life, I'll convert some to that other crap when needs be but the bulk is staying in for the long haul.
That's where I'm at. I don't want real money. I spend bitcoin, not cash out.

...Everyone is buying BTC to get in on pirate's scheme, pirate passthroughs, and other pirate like "lending" schemes. ...
I have never used these services, I don't even understand them and yet I have been buying recently.

ok so just 1 yes/no question: Is it possible that Gavin gave the CIA a method to shutdown Bitcoin?
No. And what "method" are we talking about, because I know of no such method.
