821  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: The fight between Mark Zuckerberg and Elon Musk. Who you betting on? on: August 09, 2023, 03:51:15 PM
I didn't know that and I thought that this fight is never going to happen. So, if he's got a surgery on his back then that's not going to allow him to have physical sport like this match against Zuck.

As much as I want to see this happen, it plays out like everyone is right about a promotion that's about to come. And that's when Meta announced Thread and then Twitter announced rebranding into 'X'.

they are both taking advantage of the hype surrounding the talks about their fight. but we all know that the likelihood is very slim now that musk has his surgery.
but i guess, if they know that people are talking because of this clamor, i believe they will just ride the hype for their own benefits. if in case this will push thru, i hope the proceeds will go to a charitable organisation which badly needs funding. at least do an exhibition fight for a good cause.
That's what actually they're doing but all of a sudden, one has to back down and that's Elon through his surgery. That was unforeseen and probably Elon wants this to happen and continue the fight but sadly, it cannot proceed anymore.

Not shocking and there's always that in behind intents or plans about marketing stuff aside on hyping out their upcoming matches on which it would really be just that normal that they would really be representing their companies on the time that they would really be clashing on the ring or canvass. We do know on how this thing works and what are the side intents that they would really be doing which its always getting in line with
their companies.

Why people been talking about having that sumo wrestler training if the main cause of such back pain was on lifting weights?
Elon Musk bragged about lifting '45 lb weights' on Friday. Now he says he has to get an MRI on his neck and back and may need surgery before his cage match with Zuck.
https://www.businessinsider.com/elon-musk-mri-neck-back-surgery-before-fight-mark-zuckerberg-2023-8

The fight isnt canceled though,it is really just that Elon needs to have some test before proceeding on this anticipated fight.
We'll see if it's going to be canceled soon and if it's going there. Everyone wants to see this fight happen but as for some unforeseen events, this may no longer available in the nearest future.

Where did you get it? If it's just like a giveaway and souvenir and doesn't have anything written on it then don't expect that there's Bitcoin inside of it.

But if there's some note and written things on it then you shouldn't entertain person that will offer help to you that will ask for those vital information.

Other than that, goes back to the first sentence I've said because I've received one in the past and it's just a souvenir and remembrance and nothing on it.
823  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: think before investing on: August 09, 2023, 11:34:07 AM
I became more interesting on this topic when my friend hard about the profit on trading and investing on bitcoins.without  the ideas or knowledge about it. because he only hard  that, there are high profit on investing on Bitcoin. without knowing how Bitcoin is been trade. he went and sold his property to invest on Bitcoin without been knowledgeable about it. he went ahead and invest but loss everything because he doesn't know how to trade Bitcoin.

He came and told me everything. i feel pity on him, and started teaching him how Bitcoin is been trade and invest. He was very serious to lean and now his happy and his doing very well. in every business or investment you are in backing on, I think you need to lean and be  knowledgeable about it before you invest on it.
I am skeptic about the story but there's a real story that has happened the same of what you've told. Those people that have been caught by hype will invest and do crazy things such as selling their properties and everything to invest.

That's a wrong move, you don't do that because even the best investors when you told them something that you can earn with. They won't believe you quickly and they have to study it first should they invest.

We don't want people to do nasty things upon investing in Bitcoin. Because the negative feedback goes back to Bitcoin as if it is Bitcoin that made them lose and not themselves.
824  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: The fight between Mark Zuckerberg and Elon Musk. Who you betting on? on: August 08, 2023, 10:16:09 PM
Only need one tweet of Elon and the crowd on Twitter hails it like he is going to win their fight. Looks like everyone wants the fight to happen while he is just trolling. Obviously, the news already broke days ago that he needs surgery on his back going to his neck, there is no way he can win such a contact sport.

If a guy like Elon only knows a weird dance step he seems not in control of his limbs, he will not win. You can already tell what he can do in the cage.

You should dive down and read that thread and see what does OP implied to say about that topic. There are threads out there that are making the titles colorful to get more attention.

In the end, it's all about their thoughts about Bitcoin and what they wanna share to everyone about mostly with what they've experienced talking to people about it and what they feel.

It has to boil down somewhere to connect what the title is all about by reading its thread's content.
826  Economy / Economics / Re: New Research found Work from home workers to be less productive on: August 07, 2023, 01:43:46 PM
Quote
A study published by the American private nonprofit research organization the National Bureau of Economic Research found that the productivity of workers randomly assigned to work from home was 18% lower than that of those in the office.
https://africa.businessinsider.com/careers/new-research-finds-that-fully-remote-workers-are-less-productive-than-their-in-office/4vxn4sy
These researchers found that if you work from home you will be less efficient and productive than people who from their office. Can we say the same about freelance workers?  Do you think that if workers are given the chance to "own" a task like freelancers they'll be more productive because it is just like being self-employed where you treat it as your business and not with the mindset of another man's business?
I guess so for those that have been new to this transition, they're not feeling to be productive because they're not in an office setup. But with freelancers, I don't think that it should be the case.

This is what freelancers like, to work at home and avoid the hassle of traffic if there's any with commuting. The drive from the employees that are new to this setup are the ones that can't be productive that much.

But those that have been too tired with the office setup, this is a blessing to them and they'll work more productively than this stats says.

He may never return depending on the severity of his mental health. Wasn't Ben Simmons out for mental health for awhile? Hasn't been the same since.
That's much likely what's going to be anticipated on his situation. These mental health conditions are serious and yeah, with Simmons it has never been the same after wards.

And it is why if he's going to set for good and leave his career, then that's so be it. He knows what's his best for himself and he can also get back to the former if he's all good and stable.

But we don't know when and if it will ever happen.
828  Economy / Economics / Re: Inflation overpowers the value of money on: August 07, 2023, 08:45:16 AM
I agree, there are online/digital banks that are offering better rates for an annual rate if you ever choose them to deposit your money. And the catch is that you're also free to withdraw it anytime at your own will.

Before, I was a fan of time deposits but I've learned it all along that it's good to get into it if the rate defeats the inflation rate that your country is experiencing. Otherwise, it's much better not to keep it there and find a better asset or investment that will earn more than the inflation rate so that you'll retain your wealth and its value.
All banks offer poor interest rates that can't compete with the increasing inflation, even at normal periods when it isn't spiking like it currently is. The only way to counter inflation is by investing in assets, such as stocks or bonds.
Definitely.

That is the reason why all of the banks are good as storage of money, for safe keeping. But as a place to get to as an investment, you'll get barely enough from them and can't even defeat inflation through their products.

The good thing with these struggles is we keep looking on better ways to manage these inflation rates and that's why some assets came out as good options such as Bitcoin, real estate, bonds and other instruments that we can choose.
829  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: BTC will hit new high, as crypto bull billionaire predict on: August 07, 2023, 01:23:56 AM
Mike has been in the market for so long and made poor and inaccurate predictions. Now, this time I think that he's just giving it to the media so that people would hear him out again on what he thinks about Bitcoin.

It seem that he's shilling it again as we go closer to the halving. But it doesn't mean that Fink, Novogratz or anyone who's a rich person giving predictions that Bitcoin will go in a bull run is they are correct.

At some point, they're correct but it's all about the cycle.
830  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: August 06, 2023, 07:19:02 PM
Ricky Rubio announced his stepping out from professional activity to take care of his mental health. So, the World Cup is coming and he'll be out there for sure.

Does this means that it's possible that he's also going to be out of NBA and won't play for the Cavs when the regular season starts if he's not yet okay?

Nah, I don't think he'll give up his NBA career, it's a bit early for the 2019 FIBA MVP to give up this early. I mean that's his bread and butter right there and his passion as well. If he thought skipping the FIBA world cup could bring goodness to his career, pretty much everyone in the same shoe will do the same. It's also good for his mental health that the Spanish team respected his decision.
He should be more ready in the coming season so he won't lose but improve his value, otherwise he's going to disappear unnoticeably like the other role players in the NBA, since he's actually close to it after recovering from an injury he was struggling real hard when he have rejoined his team in the middle of the season.
Looks like that he's really going to give up the professional career that he's been with. Yes, it's his bread and butter but for how long he's been playing and working.

He's one of the youngest professional basketball player that I've seen. I even remember some of those moments when he's making the news for playing that young on FIBA.

He's got a lot of achievements already, if I'm him, I'll be fine with those and will take care of my mentality.
831  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Empowering youths can be the quickest route to crypto adoption on: August 06, 2023, 05:54:46 PM
Any program that directs the youth to start their journey in crypto is a good start already. I don't know with other exchanges if they have the same program.

But as you can see, they're all welcoming the newbies with an open heart and promos that they can offer to attract them.

The important thing for them is they've got a starting point.

833  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Tether Blacklists Address To Stop Scammer on: August 05, 2023, 11:33:07 AM
This is not an old news anymore that Tether can freeze funds. That's the power of centralized systems and those scammers will try to avoid usage of USDT because they know that if they'll get caught, the funds will be frozen and they'll have no control on it anymore.

On these matters, this is good but for decentralization then it's a different matter. I guess that's the consolation that one can get with that when he's phished and scammed.
834  Economy / Economics / Re: Inflation overpowers the value of money on: August 04, 2023, 04:13:36 PM
FINANCE TIP:  Never keep your cash savings at a regular type bank accounts such as Chase/Wells Fargo/etc. Make sure you use online banks (or some credit unions) which offer much higher interest rates.  Bannkrate.com does a good job of showing who's currently got the best rates.  Just for example Chase banks and Bank of America (the worlds two largest banks)savings accounts have an annual interest rate of .01%.  Ally Bank has an annual interest rate of 4%.  One is keeping up with inflation and one isn't even close..ie you're losing money in it!  INSANITY

835  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gambling experience using loan money on: August 04, 2023, 02:41:26 PM
Basically, you're just saying that there are just two way around when a gambler borrows money and that's true.

And it's normal to think on how much you're going to repay because you've taken a loan. That's pretty much the typical thing to think of because you're obliged to do it.

But at the end of it, you'll get to see how it will impact you as a gambler because it's not a good way to start anything related to gambling if you  will use borrowed money.

That's for sure. The fact that you borrow money to gamble already makes you irresponsible. Maybe some people consider taking the journey, and they would borrow money to raise a decent bankroll. However, the moment they lose the money, most of the borrowers will have bigger problems. It's impossible to repay the loan when there are no funds coming from gambling.

So if you promise a lender that you'll be able to pay because you will win in gambling, that's not realistic, as most of the time, we experience losses in gambling.

Just think of this: When a person borrows money for personal wants or needs, that's called bad debt. But when a person borrows money to start a business that will generate income, that's considered a good debt.
Raising a bankroll with a loaned money is a terrible idea. Coming from being irresponsible by borrowing money to gamble up to that point of using loaned money whether to add or to start with as you gamble.

It could also be a common reasoning for a gambler that he'll pay the debt because he's expecting that he's going to win. Possible but not really a good promise to say upon paying debt.

You shouldn't be relying on that matter for you to pay the loan that you've taken. It should be from a guaranteed source of income just as how the banks are sure of who they're approving. Thus, never do this, never borrow money to gamble.
836  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Is politics everyone's business? on: August 03, 2023, 04:02:03 PM
Politics can be everyone's business when everyone is interested in politics but not everyone is suitable to become involved in political discourse if they are mentally unstable.
This is true. Many wants to become a politician because they think that money is all over it but not everyone fits to be one. And the sad truth is that there have been cases of politicians that don't have control to themselves. They're using their power inappropriately.

In general willfully stupid and stupid ignorant people should have the right to take an interest in politics but intelligent citizens should not have to tolerate their leadership if they ever are placed in power by either unelected groups or ignorant masses swayed by populist rantings.
Still, there's balance on it.

Despite that there could be supporters that are tolerating actions from their politicians inappropriately. It's a need to have wise and intelligent people to criticize the wrongdoings of these authorities.
837  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gambling experience using loan money on: August 03, 2023, 01:10:42 PM
what's the actual feeling when you are using a loan money on gambling knowing that there's an interest rate on your borrowed money which means you already lose part of your money before you start gambling.
IMHO, it feels like that you need to grind and should think that you shouldn't run out of luck because you need to pay for it. Because if you lose it all then you know what obligation you'll have to pay.

And on the otherhand, you're also optimistic because this is going to be like a free money if ever you win and hit the jackpot. The reality will make the situation not too complicated because we all know that who does that have to pay for both loan and interest.  Grin
While taking a loan to gamble, but have planned how much to repay and interest to be paid and must have full responsibility for repaying the loan.
But there are also gamblers borrow money to gamble but dont have good control and always borrow money regardless of whether they can afford to repay it back, while gamblers are gambling addicts and dont have a job that can be used as collateral
Basically, you're just saying that there are just two way around when a gambler borrows money and that's true.

838  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Best way to DCA 1.000.000 $ into Bitcoin on: August 03, 2023, 11:07:02 AM
lets say someone wins a million dollar and wants to dca 50k weekly into bitcoin.
What is the smartest way to do so?
If cash is on hand ready and I'm about to plan certain amount like putting that million on Bitcoin. Yes, DCA is a good strategy but if I think that the price now is as low as it can be then I'd certainly do everything to buy that.

Whilst it's a good to lumpsum it, the problem mostly with exchange is that when you're a buyer and you get that much transactions. That's where you will trigger them and could ask for more docs compliance.

I know nothing and would send 50k to binance each week and set a limit order every monday. Is there a better way?

Thx Smiley
That's pretty much it. If you think that Binance is the good exchange that buy with that money, one thing that you'll need to accept is the possible more IDs that they'll require you.
839  Economy / Speculation / Re: BTC Sentiment Poll for August on: August 02, 2023, 06:22:51 PM
While it's nice to check out monthly progress for Bitcoin. Usually with these sentiments, it's just getting harder based on the news that circulates around. We get some good and decent bad ones.

While the entirety until the bull run comes, I'm all bullish on it. But for this month, it seems that we're going to be sluggish as what the majority in the market seems sluggish as well including Bitcoin.

Anyone expecting BTC to drop to $24k again might either miss the coming bull runs or enter at a very high price.
Well, they can always buy in the middle range during the bull run.
