821  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Lost close to $6k for no fault of mine on: August 02, 2017, 11:59:23 PM
You can complain to BTC-E, but they have serious problem with the law right now and seems impossible to get your money back in the nearly future. But why now? As you said, this happened before btc-e got in trouble, the date of your withdraw is July 19.
After all this problem caused by Alexander vinnik to bring down btc-e, it should be so complicated to ask your bitcoin.
However, btc-e account on this forum has stated: The funds will be returned to everyone, but you have to wait, he said on September 1st. https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=2056158.0
822  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Could Coinbase be forced to support BCC? on: August 02, 2017, 11:34:55 PM
It's customers/users fault, because they've been told to move their bitcoin out of coinbase, and coinbase has sent an email to notify everyone who has an account. And it's clear statement from them, long before bcash split happen.
If you wish to have access to both BTC and BCC, please be sure to send your BTC off the platform by July 31.

Don't care about legal scholar who analogized the situation to a brokerage firm not giving stock splits to their customers.
It's entirely different if you have been warned.
823  Economy / Speculation / Re: Why is the price of BTC still so high eventhough BCH is going up on: August 02, 2017, 05:53:42 PM
It does not make any sense ...
the coins are doubled and 300-600$ is added to the value
does not make sense imo

What makes it doesn't make sense? It's normal in cryptocurrency trading market.
You've expect that bitcoin price will fall below $2000 again?
Even with bitcoin cash split will not pull bitcoin price that much, instead those coins gain more value.
But, bcash price will dump hard until it reach some point, as the highest rate.
On the other hand, bitcoin price expected to increase due to segwit will be activated soon.

824  Economy / Economics / Re: "Bitcoin unstoppable?" Bill Gates says a few words on: August 02, 2017, 04:41:46 PM
Bill gates and any other famous people in the world who spread the word "bitcoin" is just like a good - free advertise to the community.
This video explain about many foundational thing on bitcoin, but I really like about "a better monetary system", indeed it is.

For you, that don't want to watch it, here what he said.
Bill gates : Well, bitcoin is exciting because it shows how cheap it can be, bitcoin is better than currency and you don't have to have be physically in the same place and of course large transactions currency can get pretty inconvenient.
825  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin Vs Bitcoin Cash on: August 02, 2017, 01:08:46 PM
Bitcoin cash price seems increase significantly, meanwhile bitcoin price drop back a little bit and stay calm around $2700, not bad at all. I thought bitcoin will decline to $2500 before segwit BIP141 be activated, but it still persists at this point.
I would like to see bcash price reach over $1000, maybe pumped but I am sure it will be fall down below $500 after reach highest peak.
Why not? Because people always do it all this time, with every cryptocurrency in the market as the object of trading. The question is, when it will be the best time to sell? Just wait and learn the market movement.
826  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Is BitcoinCash a joke? on: August 01, 2017, 11:59:59 PM
I wonder of "We the People", as in 40 billion $, will trust a 3 month old website and a lame copycat of the Bitcoin Core software.
To be fair, being a copycat is kind of a good thing. Their code is likely to be less buggy if they copy the tried and tested code and only modify small amounts of it themselves.

Anyway, I suppose we'll have to find out after August 1st who the market supports.  I agree that Bitcoin Cash doing to well is unlikely - kwukduck started a thread saying that it would do well, so now I'm quite convinced that it won't.

Now is August 2 and we saw that the bcc or the bitcoin cash is not a joke, hence, it is an interesting coin because the value of it rises but not that much compared to the original. I can see a potential to this coin, I'd aldo like to invest in these but not that much, maybe it is because of their first bloom that's why they rise their value already, for me bitcoin is still the best.
It's normal for every coin that just launched to the market, I've seen yesterday bcash price was $283 and it rise up to $382 https://coinmarketcap.com/currencies/bitcoin-cash/
Bcash is just an altcoin and just like other coins, it will be used as trading object. It is a good time to watch over the price and wait for the best time to cash out, maybe bcash could recover to over $500 again.
827  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: When safe transaction using BTC ready? on: August 01, 2017, 11:49:05 PM
Hi guys with this kind of situation (split and miner split their hash power) when do you think that transaction using BTC will come to normal??

i want to buy something using BTC but afraid if this situation will effect my transaction process  Sad

I would say now, you should hurry, tx fees are quite low due to less transaction  Wink

Even the news header on the forum says at the moment:
Quote
News: Bcash split at approximately 14:00 UTC, but has yet to produce blocks. There are no visible Bitcoin issues, so it seems reasonably safe to transact in BTC.

All clear according to the news, and I've tried to transact bitcoin like 6 hours ago and it seems clear without problem, in addition just paid low fees due to the network of blockchain looks deserted. Bitcoin cash already mined, and whoever that hold bitcoin on electrum wallet and already installed electron wallet should be careful as https://twitter.com/ElectrumWallet/status/891935330235973633
828  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Need a little trading suggestion, please on: August 01, 2017, 11:20:49 PM
If you have been following cryptocurrency for a few years then you should know how bitcoin always fluctuate because some uncertain news and problems but in the end it always recover. For layman, holding bitcoin is a safe way to get more profit in the future but on the other hand trading bitcoin or altcoins require much more. Current price of bitcoin seems decline and eth price already rise over $224.
Whenever bitcoin price decline is a good thing to buy bitcoin, but ethereum will drop soon.
829  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: best ways to advertise on: August 01, 2017, 02:20:47 PM
Advertising should be used mostly when you want to grow quickly. Your first group of users should be people that you can pinpoint and will very likely want your product. Do you have those yet?

check my link in my signature - those are the 2 businesses i try to promote

no i have nothing so far

Since your signature lead to business and project in this forum, then all you have to do is advertise your signature.
Posts in various thread and discuss many things about your signature.
If you want, try to make a website about cryptocurrency and write some articles about what you want to advertise, YouTube, Twitter and Facebook will works as well.
830  Economy / Speculation / Re: Above $3000 before Aug1. on: July 31, 2017, 11:59:00 PM
It's almost August 1st and bitcoin price at $2777 on preev and over $2800 on several exchanges.
We may stuck on this level again, as bitcoin price may decrease again after hard fork, but we don't know for sure.
But, I am sure about bitcoin price will skyrocket soon after segwit activated as you can see BIP141 has gained 100% support from miners https://coin.dance/blocks
831  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Bittrex will support BCC - All BTC holders will get BCC on: July 31, 2017, 11:35:29 PM
People will cash out bcash as soon as possible while its price still $300 https://coinmarketcap.com/currencies/bitcoin-cash/ even though it's already decline since the first time I heard about it over $500. Bittrex, Kraken, Bithumb and Bitfinex will support bitcoin cash and it's a good thing, so that people could trade bcash on those exchanges. Maybe tomorrow, we will see bcash blood bath in most exchanges that has listed it.
832  Economy / Economics / Re: Implications of SEC announcements re ICO. on: July 31, 2017, 03:15:02 PM
SEC regulations about ICO is necessary, because it is relate to the legality and usability of their tokens
it is the token’s functional (utility) role in a project’s ecosystem that largely determines the viability of that project as a decentralized distributed entity.

But, since SEC based in US, then they don't have the right to prohibit any investors or ICO projects from outside the State obviously.
So, he is right, everyone has to learn about the project and consider the risk before decide to put your money on.
833  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: You lose only if you sell on: July 31, 2017, 01:54:23 PM
Probably right about sell bitcoin, but as long as you sure sell at the peak, it doesn't matter as the price will fall down and bounce, we could buy back at the dip obviously. No regret and good profits as well. But most of cases are sell at the dip, buy when it rise Cheesy

Regarding August 1st, most likely there are some dips again if some whales cash out as current price consider as the peak, over $2800.
Especially at the moment of hard fork and bitcoin price fall down, then many people will follow to panic sell. Which mean; discount time. Why? Because segwit will be activated soon, look at https://coin.dance/blocks
834  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: (HELP) Liqui.io problem ! regarding withdrawals and BCC on: July 31, 2017, 01:21:00 PM
UPDATE : i got my btc everyone , after spamming their telegram and boom its already on my wallet  Grin , god , its make me nervous .. probably never using liqui again , its too risky even for low transaction , thank you for heads up everyone .. cheers  Grin

Congrats Cheesy and good decision to stay away from some problematic trading platforms as your money could be just disappear.
Even some biggest exchanges such as Poloniex and bittrex has some problems as well, but as long as you do safe trading, then your bitcoin should be fine. I recommend to not saving too much bitcoin on another exchange especially foreign trading platform which handle too much transactions, usually ended as you've experienced.

And please, lock this thread.
835  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: (HELP) Liqui.io problem ! regarding withdrawals and BCC on: July 31, 2017, 11:29:41 AM
It's on Liqui fault to not processing your withdrawal, even after a day? More than 24 hours right now?
As today is the last chance to withdraw yours, they should send it or let it on Liqui, as you can get bcc as well, tomorrow.
But, it isn't fair I guess, you should keep asking to them to provide txid, if there's no txid then they didn't send it.
I assume that Liqui is another trading platform with problem.
836  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: [BREAKING NEWS]: South Korea to Legalize Bitcoin!!!! on: July 31, 2017, 08:56:05 AM
This has been a long back news. South Korea once after Japan's regulated use of bitcoin initiated plans within the country to legalize bitcoin. Right now it is the third market for bitcoin once after China and Japan. When South Korea starts legalized use of the bitcoin Asia market becomes more strong.

Yes, that was almost one month ago but here the update of South Korean news

https://cointelegraph.com/news/south-korea-officially-legalizes-bitcoin-huge-market-for-traders
South Korea has officially legalized international Bitcoin transfers and is on the verge of providing a regulatory framework for Bitcoin trading platforms and exchanges
Although the South Korean Bitcoin industry has not been fully regulated as of yet, the South Korean government officially legalized Bitcoin service providers to facilitate payments, transfers and trades.

This news becomes clearer, South Korean has moving forward with digital currency, even though the government has not yet fully regulate bitcoin but trading volume on South Korean exchanges has been increasing. Like Op said, fill your bags.
837  Economy / Speculation / Re: Why BTC will never be over 30K on: July 30, 2017, 04:13:30 PM
I've read a lot of articles about people claiming bitcoin will be worth millions in the future, for example John mcAfee recently said bitcoin will be 500K in 3 years.
Now, imagine if this was true, and it was in fact 500K/BTC. The total market cap would then be 10.500.000.000.000, or about 10 trillion dollars. This is an unbelievable and unachievable amount of money. Even if we ignore the market caps, imagine how many people would become rich? Millions would become millionairs, hundreds would become billionaires, all in a matter of 3 years. This would cripple the global economy as we know it.

My best guess is that, in 10 years, bitcoin might be around it's absolute peak of 30K, giving it a total market cap of about 630.000.000.000$, or 630 billion. The total market cap of cryptos would then be around 2 trillion if the some of the better alts gain more traction. I believe this is fairly realistic. This means BTC would have to rise with around 7 - 8$ a day.

Edited

And why bitcoin will never be over 30K? is just because you said 10 trillion dollars unbelievable and unachievable?
Because many people will be a rich man in 3 years later?
I can't say for sure what will happen in the future, but considering bitcoin value growing in every year, if it's within $1000-$2000 and could leap even further after halving, then in 10 years later bitcoin should be worth around $25,000 it seems more realistic for me. But, who knows for sure? None of us.
838  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: August 1 strategies. Opionion needed? on: July 30, 2017, 08:19:52 AM
Main Assumption:
People are piling BTC now so they can get free BCC.

Opposite Assumption:
After the split. People will see big decrease in BCC price, because a lot of people will want to jsut dump. Which will be a signal for succsess for the BTC, in which case BTC price will go up.

Question:
What do you think is gonna happen to BTC price in Poloniex close before and during the August first split?
My assumption is that the price wil either freeze or it will start decreasing in fast pace. Because the people who want free BCC will have their coins in non-exchange wallets already.

I think so, even though many people or exchanges that do not support BCC but if we could get it for free and there are some exchanges support it, don't want to miss this free money as bcc price $331 based on https://coinmarketcap.com/currencies/bitcoin-cash/
I don't want to miss bcc either, but local exchanges in my country seems won't support bcc, which mean I should trade bcc on bitfinex or Kraken maybe. Poloniex may not put bcc on their list as http://www.newsbtc.com/2017/07/25/poloniex-will-not-provide-support-potential-bitcoin-forks/
839  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: Alerts of BTC rate changes, Email/fbMessenger/telegram/skype/push notifications on: July 30, 2017, 06:43:41 AM
You're welcome and thank you, I really appreciate your work,
I will keep using bot on telegram and would like to try newest features that you want to add.
It is a good site to be promoted or recommend to some friends as well, who like to get notified whenever discount price appears, because this chain split and hard fork news really good bait to get cheaper price Cheesy.
840  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: Alerts of BTC rate changes, Email/fbMessenger/telegram/skype/push notifications on: July 29, 2017, 05:42:43 PM
I got tired of checking Bitcoin to USD value. So I made this  - https://coinvalue.me/ , which notifies on every n% change.

- Dead simple usage (no signup)
- Just Set a percent/s to get notified for.
- Get alerted through
Email |
Messengers: facebook messenger | telegram | skype - (Say 'Hi' to these chatbots)

Choose any or all!

Hope someone finds it useful as well.

Good work, and it will be helpful for some people. Try it on telegram just now, very easy to get any update obviously.
But, why use percentage change instead of people could set certain price whether it goes up or down? Or at least we can choose ; percent or price. I find it will be more useful if it can show us price movements as well. One more thing, the rate of bitcoin in USD, where you find it, based on what site/calculator?
