8441  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: LOOK AT THIS TODAY RED DAY FOR ALL CRYPTOS, but waves 3 percent green on: December 10, 2017, 04:31:08 PM
Oh, that is pretty strange to see since Waves is not really known to outperform others. But check back three days ago, alts were all in 5 to 10% decline (except Iota and a few other strange ones like Mona) but Waves was in 25% decline,,, so I think this is just Waves recovering from a major slump. It is nice to see the price go up quite decently, of course, but I do wish it would cross over back into 100k satoshis before the end of the year.

Not that it really matters, since I will not be selling at all. Maybe if it crosses $100 barrier I will release a few just to realise my profits, but wait till it gets to the use that Ethereum is experiencing.
8442  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: STRATIS for Longterm investment! on: December 10, 2017, 03:04:49 PM
Stratis is indeed a long term project, it hit top 8 in May, but now it is out of top 20 again, the team will work more hard and the market cap will be back. I believe it will go back to top 20 again, they are bringing good product for bitcoin ecosystem.
maybe right, its because of the project that has no updates if
only the dev will do better actions about advertising and public build
up so many investor may put investment on Stratis for the coin make
his way again to the top 20 .hope sooner coz im waiting for another
updates,i will follow stratis and may put investment soon

Actually no. This Stratis project is similar to Waves for the reasons you mentioned: few updates, little action for advertising and little public marketing. But that is good for me. If you artificially promote the coin with pump type news and bloated hype, you attract big time spenders who only want to see profit in weeks. These then inflate the prices but then dump them, creating a reluctance for actual new investors to enter the market. In fact, both coins already have some whale action hurting long term growth. But I am not worried. Stratis is for those who want to see the platform emerge properly next year and following years. Not this month or next month.
8443  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: BYTEBALL: Totally new consensus algorithm + private untraceable payments on: December 10, 2017, 10:40:08 AM
super impressive stuff about the email. one day people will look back on these prices and their minds are gonna be boggled.

totally agree about previous posts regarding unit bias. even if the weirdos here don't believe it's a thing, they should at least for freaking once in crypto history experiment with this and prove that it's real.

byteball has less than nothing to lose and a ton to gain by switching to mbyte or smaller. i truly can't believe not one single coin with this issue has ever done anything to address it. it rams home once again how unworldly crypto developers are.

the byteball community is still small enough to understand why it's happening and help make it happen.

Yup, the switch to a smaller unit is probably the single "feature" most needed at this time to gain mainstream adoption.

It is fucking crazy that Byteball is one of the most undervalued coins in comparison to how well it does deliver. But almost no new people want to buy such an "expensive" coin. Yeah, that's literally what they say... every single time someone asks me for advice on what coins would I recommend. They disregard the advice instantly after checking the price per "coin" -same thing happens with Bitcoin, but to a lesser extent "coz Bitcoin is Bitcoin"-.

No, they go to IOTA instead which is much "cheaper" at only $x.xx.... without caring that it is a coin that has delivered NOTHING of what is suppossed to do. Have anyone seen where is that code that would run on microcontrollers? I have been trying to find sources for Arduino to no avail.... well, in fact, no source for any microcontroller at all. Not even beta, or alpha, or a fucking draft.... NOTHING.

That said.... it's awesome what Byteball has already achieved technically wise. Keep up the great work!

I have to disagree with thoughts on the devs being unworldly. They have been anything but. Name one other project that actively updates their wallets according to features that people actually want, actually like and actually use. And at the same time seeks our merchants to form partnerships with. I think yes, the psychology of expensive coins makes people think several times before buying into it, but then we have the biggest coin of all Bitcoin who actually is no longer facing this problem. Look at all the orderbooks and recent orders matched. Almost all are in amounts of 0.01 BTC or less. And they are not calling it 10 Mbits or 10,000 bits... they're just saying 0.01 BTC or whatever.

But never mind our arguments, it is good for the devs to watch. We trust in them completely, and are happy with how far they have taken us.
8444  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: SteemDollars SBD - short term buy on: December 09, 2017, 11:29:50 PM
Heh, you have definitely confused yourself. But if we are talking about Steem Dollars / SBD, then yes, it has been one of those under the radar and flying at the moment BUT not if you were an old holder. SBD has been declining in value for a very long time with people collecting and holding. Expect to see profit taking happening very soon as holders release their SBDs with relief.

One reason: all the hype moved over to EOS. Same creator, right?
You may be right. I found that EOS is still open for ICO participation (still one day)... This coin is already tradable, but the ICO is not finished???

Haha yes, you mean you have not heard of EOS? It was actually started by the same guy behind the topic of our conversation and what I could not believe was that this was meant to be an ICO that ran EVERY DAY for one entire year. That is right, 360 days plus. And no product. And the earliest code was almost a huge copy of Bitshares.

But what I could not believe even more was that people poured millions into it. Today, I am more ready to believe anything will happen with crypto. Just cannot use common logic for people involved now.
8445  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: PitchMyICO - getting answers from ICO teams on: December 09, 2017, 01:10:29 PM
Looks quite useful actually and well done for all the efforts. But I have to say, if an investor is looking for such answers in this solution, instead of looking for it in the website and whitepaper itself, then the investor is better off not investing at all if they cannot do their own research.

On the other hand, if there is information to be found in your service and not on the website or own materials of the project itself, then the project ought to be flagged for not updating information quick or effective enough.

What I mean to say is good service, but it maybe could prove either investor or project as inappropriate?
8446  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: How to avoid phishing websites? on: December 09, 2017, 11:06:33 AM
Just avoid doing two things. Never click on links given to you, not even those that come up on Google search since you can get tricked from there. Do your own research, find out the actual websites you intend to log into, and save those on your bookmarks, protected by password manager. If you've saved your password and realise one day the wesbite you are visiting does not have it, then check to see if the website is wrong or has updated.

Also, do not use same passwords on different sites in case the site owners are stealing.

Basically, ignore all mails messages and spam. Never click on links. Just stick to your own wallets. Do not ever trust websites.
8447  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Is Ethereum Network safe now ? on: December 09, 2017, 09:47:11 AM
Nothing is ever safe in crypto, it can be secure to a certain degree but that still depends on how the user behaves. Regarding Ethereum network, the vulnerabilities of smart contracts are well seen, with many hacks happening this year especially with Parity wallets, with the DAO still fresh in memory from 2016. But people will say these are not the failings of the blockchain but smart contract. And that is partially true. But if the blockchain itself can help identify these vulnerabilities before allowing them to be added, that would be great. Anyway, let us wait for the 2.0 version which is supposed to be faster and more secure.

8449  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: is it true ethereum blockchain overloaded? on: December 08, 2017, 04:48:06 PM
I would say no, but this of course depends on your definition of overloaded. Bitcoin network is overloaded with 220 thousand transactions waiting to be confirmed, but if I were willing to pay the right fees, I could still always get my transaction confirmed within an hour. And so the same with ETH.

These are all temporary demand spikes, ETH because of their cryptokitties game, BTC because of huge demand from BTC buyers (or spam, if you follow the theory from those trying to take Bitcoin down and promote other alts like Bitcoin Cash).
8450  Economy / Services / Re: 🔥🔥🔥 BITCOIN TRANSACTION ACCELERATION SERVICE [ 100% FREE ] 🔥🔥🔥 on: December 08, 2017, 02:59:44 PM
Hello! Wondering if you might have a hand but here is my tx ID: 08ee5caed34a0905db0d6075a9f40c6442af0943cd97a8b9f444992408876c9b

As you can see the fee was not so low, but of course, it is considered nothing with the current network congestion. There's a tip involved I am told, but no guarantees, unless you happen to PM me and I can catch it in time. Thanks in advance, great work you are doing for the community.

Any chance we know how you do this service for free? Just curious of course, not necessary at all.
8451  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: What are your biggest concerns regarding Cryptocurrencies? on: December 08, 2017, 09:56:36 AM
Fraud and scammers are a very general concern in any industry, any tech, especially over the Internet. Relevant to crypto yes, but not unique to crypto. Governments taking over also is relevant but not a real concern, to me. It is impossible for governments to take over Crypto, even if they tried very hard.

So of all the concerns listed, scalability and governance are always going to be concerns, but rightfully and naturally so. If you do not have scaling problems, then your coin is not successful. Nice problem to have is it no?
8452  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: ETH is finished, etherdelta need set gas price to 60, $1+ for one transaction on: December 08, 2017, 07:25:13 AM
This is why the transaction speed and low cost fees are usually a subjective matter when used to compare against Bitcoin. If an alt ever gets to the type of usage and demand of Bitcoin and ETH, you will see that all alts will have their own scaling issues. At least  Bitcoin and Ethereum are prepared and are constantly working to scale and grow. Can other alts have the same ability in coding and development? Look at Bitcoin Gold and then you have your answer. It is one thing to claim, another thing to do.
8453  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: How to get most out of Airdrops??? on: December 07, 2017, 04:55:54 PM
First of all, do not join willy-nilly any airdrop you come across. Not so much because they are or will be worthless, but because you will waste a lot of precious time, some how you are even better off going for faucets if you want to hunt around for every airdrop. Besides opening yourself up to scams, you also give yourself a bad reputation if you are posting every campaign you join in twitter or FB or your blogs. That is just spam and people will realise that after a while.

Some airdrops are good with potential, these are easy to spot. They look exactly like ICOs except they have no ICOs. Just good devs, good ideas, good roadmaps, websites, whitepapers.

Also, now I just hold my Bitcoin and ETH in my own private wallets. Free airdrops when forks or giveaways occur.
8454  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: ETH and LTC which is valuable ? on: December 07, 2017, 01:16:03 PM
On paper, ETH seems to provide the most value unless you think it is overpriced (like me haha). If you saw Charlie Lee's announcement on Twitter, then you can see that Litecoin is preparing to be doing some serious marketing. Can you imagine what is has achieved without any of that marketing? And once this kicks off, I can just see what will happen for Litecoin in 2018, and perhaps even more the following years once the impact is felt from the marketing.

So for me, Litecoin is the slight winner here. It is not called silver to Bitcoin's gold for no reason!
8455  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What would make you invest in today's running ICOs? on: December 07, 2017, 01:00:48 PM
After months of staying away from ICOs, thanks to big losses on all of the ones I chose, I will decide only on one big ICO in 2018. At the same times, I will also keep a watch on the ICOs I joined, perhaps they will "become big" in 2018 or beyond, so I consider those losses but never know I might be surprised so let that be a "bonus" if it happens.

That ideal ICO will just be a simple one:
1. Existing business that wants to expand.
2. Good, simple whitepaper, no need too complicated, just clear reasonable targets.
3. Good budget. Not stupid soft and hard cap with no backing.
4. No promotions across all major platforms. I think this stung me before. I just want to see good communication and realism.
8456  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: WHAT THE FORK??!! Ready for the FORKs (FREE MONEY)??  ;D on: December 07, 2017, 08:35:38 AM
Okay wow I did not know there were these many forks going on. Now I really wonder which website is going to give out all those free coins? I can foresee everyone now withdrawing and buying Bitcoin all ready to take advantage of these free money.

But my guess is that only one or two will be good value. The rest will have worst developers and therefore worse problems than Bitcoin Gold. And maybe even one or two will be attempts to steal people's wallets. Time will tell us.
8457  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: How To Make Money While You Sleep on: December 07, 2017, 07:39:00 AM
Very honestly, no one gave chance to Bitcoin either years back, but looks now; it’s the most popular thing right now! So, don’t ever underestimate anything like that. I am not saying this is GREATEST ICO out there, but it got the potential, and could be very good option in coming months. Rest, I believe it is very much individual choice. I will certainly not want to miss out on Bitbeeline, as it is amongst the best ICOs.

Yes, but you are trying to compare a dragon to a worm here. Bitcoin when it surfaced promised nothing about profits, but instead showed the world a truly big idea in nine pages of pure genius, simple to understand even by the layperson, and yet ten years later almost, people still argue over and dream over.

Your project starts off immediately with profits and free gifts, what is so different about that? What makes it among the best ICOs?

Nobody gave a chance to Bitcoin? Wrong. Look at this forum from when it was born. Hundreds and thousands of people believed in it. Today, millions.
8458  Economy / Speculation / Re: Does dollar value affect bitcoin value? on: December 06, 2017, 06:42:21 PM
Seems most people here think like I do, that dollar value doesn't have an impact on Bitcoin value. I have asked myself this a few times, and it seems to be true, in a sense, because Bitcoin value against other pairs of currency are actually just the same if you equate it against USD. I do wonder if USD becomes extremely volatile or loses a great amount of value, how would or who would make the decision to change the pair it is valued against?

For example, in Zimbabwe, it is against dollar value because the local currency deactivated. Who actually determines that?
8459  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Get out of ethereum while you still can! on: December 06, 2017, 04:38:33 PM
I wonder how could op called etherium a scam while its one of the best performing cyptocurrency this year its value increase almost $400 this year and its not bad If i have spare money I usually buy some small amount of eth and keep it because I believe that etherium is still one of the best creation and will continue the journey over the next years.

OP is just one of the many, many shills and alt accounts made on this forum to spam our screens with pointless predictions. ETH is not a scam, not when compared to a lot of other alts. I never got bought into it, but I have learned to respect it for its growth.

P.S. $400 was achieves many months ago when Bitcoin was still making new ATHs and everyone was talking about the flippening, so basically ETH is just only recovering back its old highs and made new ones now. Again, thanks a lot to Bitcoin's impressive performance.
8460  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Any new promising Masternode coins? on: December 06, 2017, 01:38:15 PM
Normally, I would not have looked back at one of my older coins, especially not when I have given up and sold them all, but I recently checked back on Poswallet (POSW) and found out that they seem to have coughed themselves back into life with a new set of developers and Masternode implementation. Truly one of the low flying coins always out of radar. Price bottoming out for months this year, so somewhat represents good value if they can truly get themselves back on track. I may reconsider a second chance with them.
