8461  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Get out of ethereum while you still can! on: December 06, 2017, 04:38:33 PM
I wonder how could op called etherium a scam while its one of the best performing cyptocurrency this year its value increase almost $400 this year and its not bad If i have spare money I usually buy some small amount of eth and keep it because I believe that etherium is still one of the best creation and will continue the journey over the next years.

OP is just one of the many, many shills and alt accounts made on this forum to spam our screens with pointless predictions. ETH is not a scam, not when compared to a lot of other alts. I never got bought into it, but I have learned to respect it for its growth.

P.S. $400 was achieves many months ago when Bitcoin was still making new ATHs and everyone was talking about the flippening, so basically ETH is just only recovering back its old highs and made new ones now. Again, thanks a lot to Bitcoin's impressive performance.
8462  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Any new promising Masternode coins? on: December 06, 2017, 01:38:15 PM
Normally, I would not have looked back at one of my older coins, especially not when I have given up and sold them all, but I recently checked back on Poswallet (POSW) and found out that they seem to have coughed themselves back into life with a new set of developers and Masternode implementation. Truly one of the low flying coins always out of radar. Price bottoming out for months this year, so somewhat represents good value if they can truly get themselves back on track. I may reconsider a second chance with them.
8463  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: MonaCoin is the *100 Coin, it will be $1000 soon, you heard it here FIRST! on: December 06, 2017, 11:25:35 AM
Sorry to burst your bubble, but MonaCoin was NOT the first Segwit coin, I mean come on, how can it take credit for that with a ton of other developers working their asses off to test and stabilize the technology?

Mona will NOT reach $100 much more to say $1000, and even if it does, it will be when all other alts with proper vision and communities have reached far more beyond that.

Good that people see the whale power behind it and sees Mona for what it is. Oh and we did not hear it here first.
8464  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: I am ANGRY!!! Why certain coins are exploding??? on: December 06, 2017, 09:00:52 AM
That is the way it is with crypto. Some small coins explode as you say, but be aware this is usually just price manipulation by the so called big whales who have plenty of Bitcoin and alts to play with the market. Do not get caught up or you will be burned by the steep price when it all crashes down as the big whales decide to cash out.

You bought Bitcoin in June? Then you are already very big in profit. You also have BCH and BTG, so if you sold those now even you made an extra 30% BTC. That is way better than MONA.
8465  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: IOTA to be listed on Bittrex soon, time to buy on: December 05, 2017, 11:54:58 AM
I never understood why people always claim that a listing on an exchange is equal to a raise in price. I´ve seen it countless times that a listing on e.g. Binance leads to the price falling. Latest example was GVT which tanked after being listed on Binance. Disclaimer: Price is now over the initial listing price on Binance.

A listing on an exchange provides more people to trade the coin. Total volume should increase. But an exchange listing provides new people to buy but for every buy order there must also be a sell order. Price could go down just as likely as up.

Haha, yes. By the way, if I am not mistaken, Bittrex listing costs minimum $55,000 for only a few months, so if you think about it, developers already pay a lot to keep things listed on these big exchanges. So, any price rice after listing if you think about it is also an attempt to recoup losses, with initial pumps getting more people to buy.

Exchange listings just mean more liquidity, more trading volume, but it does nothing else for the coin except maybe reputation. But these days do you really need to be associated with all these centralized exchanges with bad reputations?
8466  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: Is there really a need for lot of new exchanges? on: December 05, 2017, 09:27:33 AM
Yes there is. As long as the trade market is dominated by a few centralized exchanges, expect the current problems of slow support, website crashes and exit scams to get worse and worse. They all need competition, and especially from decentralized exchanges. Sure, we may have 100 different exchanges to trade at, but that is okay, especially if they are decentralized (that is the whole point). Let users choose the platforms with the best services, quickest and most secure trades and awesome support. Me, I am waiting for Waves to become big!
8467  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: Ethereum transaction pending for an hour on: December 05, 2017, 07:50:41 AM
Seems like there is a game called Cryptokitties that is making the Ethereum network congested. Can you imagine that? A game makes everything slow down. It used to be ICOs,,, so this shows that Eth network also has a lot of scaling problems when it comes to volume of transaction.

Anyway, I always use recommended fee/gas on MyEtherWallet and it never fails to confirm in minutes. Just be patient I guess. Until people stop playing that evil game.

By the way, I did not know you could replace gas fee? Is there a way once you make the transaction?
8468  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Tokens (Altcoins) / Re: ✈️✈️✈️AERON✈️✈️✈️ - [Saving People's Lives] on: December 04, 2017, 06:57:22 PM
Very, very interesting idea OP. I have to warn though that the current aviation industry is highly structured and therefore highly centralized. I hope the project has entered into much research and discussion with IATA for example before even launching (I only skimmed the website but did not find this information).

If forced to be transparent, we can see a lot of improvements. As customers we know:
1. Flight times and experiences of crew
2. Maintenance of aircraft records
3. Even delays and passenger capacities
8469  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: I just divorced my wife and put every cent I have into Blackbytes on: December 04, 2017, 09:39:19 AM
The DAG coins are interesting and different if nothing else.  Out of thousands of crypto projects now only three use DAG, IOTA, XRB, and BYTEBALL.  Only IOTA and XRB have zero fee transactions though.  Each of them are interesting projects and worth looking into for anyone who is looking to research long term projects with huge potential, though they are all in very early stages at the moment.

I agree here. You cannot deny that it has a truly fascinating technology, and I got into Byteball a little early (unfortunately too small) thanks to a bit of Bitcoin. But you are wrong, there are other alts using DAG, just not very popular yet. For example, a recent announcement by Monsterbyte (the ones doing the Bitcoinrush casino) announced a new partnership with a DAG coin (can't remember the name) but if they are one to move from Bitcoin to DAG-based alts, others will surely follow. It also has zero fees and claims to be faster and more secure the bigger it gets.
8470  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: IOTA - right time to invest or wait? on: December 04, 2017, 09:17:19 AM
As we can see, IOTA is going up crazy atm while I'm still waiting for my Bitfinex verification it was going up for around 300% which annoys me a lot. Now I'm not sure anymore whether it's the right time to invest as there might be a correction coming soon after such a big rise in the last month.

What do you guys think?

Yeah, IOTA was one of the projects I sidelined in my quest to diversify into altcoins in June to September. Partly glad I did, since I experienced heavy losses in all my alt holdings, but then partly regretting it because I would have now loved to have this in my portfolio. It is definitely still in my list of new coins to add to my 2018 buys, depending on how Bitcoin will continue to perform, but the IoT tech are coming up hard, along with supercomputers. So yes, get into it now if you want a long term buy. Wait, if just looking for profits. Corrections incoming.
8471  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Too late to buy Monero? on: December 04, 2017, 07:35:47 AM
I see it like this. Dark markets are in hiding now. They are suffering and still licking old wounds caused by Interpol and Bitcoin use (good lesson for them). Now I cannot comment on some activities of the dark market which I do not agree with, but some things I believe they help with, because legal rules in some countries are simply too rigid. So dark markets are a necessity, we cannot pick and choose which things can or cannot exist, this is the price of democracy and decentralization.

With that in mind, Monero is always going to be a good buy. Not too late. It is not $1,000 yet!
8472  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: STRAT IS A SLEEPING GIANT ! on: December 03, 2017, 07:03:31 PM
Don't be erratic. You'd need to have a serious lack of diligence to sell STRAT DURING December.

CAPS INTENDED.

There's a plethora of news and developments to come through for Stratis in December. A good time to sell might be the end of December. Might be. But hodl until then my friends. Don't give your profits away to someone else.

Actually, I think you would be making the same wrong moves for most alt platform projects, Waves, NEO, Stratis of course included. I am inclined to believe though that this news and development will have limited impact the way the market is so overheated. For example, Stratis launched their ICO platform for testing just two days ago but I saw no fanfare and no significant price adjustment as a result of market reaction (and no, the two past days do not count since every alt below ETH also gave the same percentages). But no, selling will not be good any time in December.
8473  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: NEO Breaks NEW HIGH on: December 03, 2017, 04:28:13 PM
this coin can really moon if it gains traction beyond that of bizarro Chinese world. Very interesting project, with tremendous potential if it gets a foothold in markets outside of China as well.

In Assia, NEO is like a king and the deamand for it is really high. But outside Assia, NEO needs more marketing to get the attention of American and European investors. If they can do this, the price would go to the moon for real.

Actually, from what I heard and see, all the NEO investors I know about are OUTSIDE of China, so I think it is really doing well already in other Asian countries and in Europe. What Neo needs to improve on is its development language. Still very much in Chinese only, so very difficult to attract interest and assistance from keen developers who do not speak the language. Then again, maybe this is precisely what they want, a project purely based on Chinese talent and Chinese interest. Good to keep an eye on this, whatever the outcome for 2018, talking about their supposed adoption by Chinese government.
8474  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: [XRP] Ripple Speculation on: December 03, 2017, 03:20:09 PM
Sad during that time more people talking and advertising ripple as good investment I buy 180xrp for 0.01btc and it's price pump continuously that almost 3x the price when I buy yet I still wait for it to reach as high as btc but no luck now it's dump how I wish I already sell it last may.

Look. Do not worry about what you have done. Just use every mistake as a lesson. From now on, if you ever invest in something and it becomes x2, sell half. Then you have never lost anything and you have a "free bag" to hold for as long as you want, to make profit any time you want without worry. Besides, coins like Ripple are a long term buy, so do not even think you have made a mistake if you have not held it for longer than a year or two. Patience, you will see that it is not so bad!
8475  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: [XMR] Monero Speculation on: December 03, 2017, 03:02:14 PM
When is the next hard fork scheduled? Or is it? Can't seem to find a good answer in the announcement thread or anywhere else.

Every 6 months, next one is in March.

Also, Monero's stack exchange is a usually the best place to look--rarely is there an answer that can't be found there.

Thanks for that, I was also wondering on the same question. If we look at the charts, we see a slight sell off before every hard fork, so I am really looking forward to my Monero gaining high ground on February, at which point I will probably sell a small position, and look to buy back in some time around the fork. Should give me a slight boost to my Monero holdings. Not much, I admit, but very happy with where it is going now. However, still a lot of time between now and then.
8476  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: High risk / high reward alt coin december 2018 on: December 03, 2017, 10:17:57 AM
You might as well say goodbye to your little present, my friend. My advice, if you really want to gamble, just go and deposit the Bitcoins in a dice site, play a x10 payout game, and you find out immediately if you get $500 or lose it all. To me, that is still a better bet than buying some high-risk alt and waiting for it to go up 10000% in one month. It is never going to happen in this condition with Bitcoin so strong.

I also like the Gulden suggestion, but it will be more like x2 than x10.
8477  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Any Impact of rising bitcoin on ICO investments? on: December 02, 2017, 09:03:16 PM
Well, if ICO investors were like me, they would all be afraid to invest now. All the ICOs I invested in were when Bitcoin was around $1k. So for me to break even, my tokens would all have to perform more than 10x their ICO value. Sadly, none of them have performed even 1%, they are all in losses.

Meanwhile, ICOs that raised millions at the time would have made now tens of millions from all that Bitcoin, not to mention the free Bitcoin Cash and Bitcoin Gold. I really hate ICOs now Wink
8478  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Do you think people will turn to Monero? on: December 02, 2017, 07:22:14 PM
People have been turning to Monero from Bitcoin, slowly but surely, but this has nothing to do with regulations. Those who want to avoid regulations will just stay away from centralized exchanges. Of course, dark market traders will also learn by now that Bitcoin never suited their purposes. They want to remain anonymous, which is what Bitcoin never offered, and Monero constantly works to improve. So Bitcoin users will not give up the coin for an alt, it just depends on what their primary aim is. If it is to trade illegally and use anonymously, then they choose a coin that suits them.
8479  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: 2019 - the end of 90% altcoin? on: December 02, 2017, 04:25:36 PM
Since we have an exploding amount of ICO started from mid this year and most of these projects says they will have at least a prototype around end 2018 to 2019. Many of hear ICO projects will delay the release date, but nevertheless many of them should have something by the mid to end 2019.

What will happen to these ICOs that cannot deliver the promise? They will become zombie coin, as we have see the confido cases as I suspect there will be much more project fail down the track. And only a few hat will be among the top 25 coins with working project.

Do you guys think we the investors will be less interested in ICO in the following years as we gradually learn that we might not get our money back if we are stuck with these coins? And the number of the good coins will increases and people have more choices to diversify rather than just put the money in BTC and ETH?

I cannot find the threads but I remember when I first came to this forum, a lot of talks was going on about the death of ICOs from 2016 and the death of alts related to them. But here we are now about to close the year and we are nowhere near the death of anything.

We have in the top 100 coins more than half born from ICO projects, including ETH of course. But yes, we are expecting incredible amounts of prototypes and finished products by 2018, with even more scheduled for 2019. Billions of ICO funding already raised, so expectations are very high. We can expect a lot of promises to be broken. Then a lot of investors will be burnt MORE than they already are this year.

Will people learn? HYIPs say "there are new idiots born every minute".
8480  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: 1000$ to WAVES or NEM on: December 02, 2017, 04:14:22 PM
I have to admit I would never have guessed most voters would choose Waves, so I was quite pleasantly surprised to see the majority saying it would be Waves. But back on hand to earth, where we live in reality, I think we should not see Waves at $1,000 before first seeing it at $10, and then $100, and then we can think about the future beyond that.

Waves is a really great platform, but we cannot ignore NEM's own pursuance of Japanese use. I think both are great coins, but of course my bias is with Waves as a holder.
