8521  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Do you feel ICOs try to raise too much? on: November 22, 2017, 06:56:04 PM
Of course they do! Tell me, outside of crypto, what kind of huge projects take millions of dollars to develop? Those by major multinational companies with hundreds and thousands of staff and testers and coders in their development team.

If you are a project with a handful of people, do you really need to raise $1 or more million?

The first red flag is this to me. No budget, no statement of costs, no market research. Just some random soft cap and hard cap based on total supply of token or coins, and how much each dev wants to keep in his millionaire fund. Ridiculous, is it not? Absolute nonsense.
8522  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Investing on ico is the smart way to be millioner on: November 22, 2017, 04:09:02 PM
It’s also a great way to lose everything you’ve got when the developer runs away with your money.

You have to be very careful with ICOs. While they have a greater potential they also have a much greater risk, not to mention the fact that unless you got really lucky you'd need to invest a lot in order to see miraculous returns.

On point, see Confido just two days ago. Got half a million dollars and disappeared.

In fact, ICOs are also a great way to lose money quickly without the developer running away. I dare OP to pick the first ten ICOs listed in the Announcement sections. Check all of them. I bet the majority are trading today at prices lower than their ICOs. Yes, even with all the bonuses you could possibly get by being a first investor.

Next, I expect someone to say being a bounty hunter for ICOs is the surest way to make money. Seems so easy to be a millionaire these days, is it not?
8523  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Which coin can cross $300+ in next 3 years? on: November 22, 2017, 10:15:55 AM
Ripple is a good competitor for the 300$ gold line.why? It is currently trading at  0.20 $. In the opinion of many Crypto market specialists, XRP may reach a price of at least  0.75 $  by the end of the year. The return on this XRP investment will be over 300%. One good reason is it has Higher technology, xRP was specifically designed to be able to change current cross-border money transfers. We are talking here about the old and the slow SWIFT. At present, a transfer with SWIFT between two countries can take from 3 to 5 days. Not to mention the costs of these transfers, which are not negligible, especially if we are talking about transfers of tens of thousands of dollars.

For Ripple to reach $1 would be a five fold increase in market cap,,, for it to reach $300 it would be a 1,500x increase - simply unimaginable if you look at it like that, not to mention that the supply would have increased in three years.

No, you would need to look at something like Litecoin (at $70) and Monero (at $145). For them to cross over into $300 territory is only a 4x increase for Litecoin and 2.2x increase for Monero. That is far more realistic, and actually looks very capable of happening.
8524  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Dash Speculation on: November 22, 2017, 09:14:10 AM
dash already made their move,
so i doubt it that they will do another run in upcoming weeks,
they will make another move if everything is moving.
but right now,i do not think they will break that triangle,
at least they will make it bigger trigangle in the future.
well, everything can be happen in cryptocurrency.who knows what will happen in the next few minutes later on ?

And we all thought the same about Bitcoin every climb and every ATH. So crypto is unpredictable. I made my DASH move for half a coin at $300, so of course I am enjoying only a modest amount of unrealized profit. I guess I will always enter the game "late" when it comes to altcoins! No matter, profit is profit and I am glad this is one alt that did not let me down.

So it is a week later, and precisely this has happened as you thought. DASH is moving in the direction of every other alt, up and up. It seems to be comfortable above $400 so the big resistance is at $500. Anyone can have a guess, mine is $450 floor by 31 December.
8525  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Lisk or Waves? on: November 22, 2017, 08:04:31 AM
$700? Wish I had that amount to add to my WAVES, which would quadruple its size!

Waves may not look like the choice if compared to Lisk, on basis of promotion, development hype and the way the community is. But that to me is the uniqueness of Waves. Lisk just looks like another altcoin project with a lot of people talking big and complementing the hype from devs. Waves is happy to allow things to develop more naturally. Besides, I could wait for months as am already happy with where the platform is now.
8526  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] [DRGN] Dragon Coin - for gamers, traders and investors on: November 21, 2017, 11:22:01 AM
Serious gamers cannot also be serious traders, or investors. In fact anybody serious in any of these three things cannot be serious at a second of them. In other words, you will have none of the serious people from these communities supporting the project. With your mining algorithm, do you expect gamers to run 1 high end GPU gaming PC and another ASIC rig by their side? (for example).

Diversification is good, but only if the product's main feature is first 100%.
8527  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: BYTEBALL: Totally new consensus algorithm + private untraceable payments on: November 21, 2017, 09:18:00 AM
For everyone asking and asking, why so impatient? Let the devs do what they feel is right.

Yes, in fact, it took a two month cycle instead of the normal one month before, so from now onwards we should not expect it to be quicker than two months. In fact, we should just wait. If it is announced, the website main page will surely be updated. So, yes, stop asking, and hold you GBYTES and enjoy the fresh income every distribution.

Devs: good job on keeping byteball stable now after most recent distribution. In fact, keep it even lower if necessary. Lengthen the distribution. Take the time to build partnerships. Cheers.

8528  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][ICO] MilkCoin [MLCN] - Agricultural Enterprise ICO 15.11.2017 on: November 20, 2017, 07:24:55 PM
Ah, what a shame. I was quite excited about this project and was seriously considering to move something for it. I think this is the big problem with crypto now. Everyone only wants to invest in blockchain this and decentralized that, but they forgot that ICOs have another purpose of raising capital for proper businesses. OP, perhaps this project just needed more patient marketing, you have such good material but people need more time to be convinced maybe.

We need more real businesses in crypto, not less. Keep us updated, please.
8529  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Life after crypto? on: November 20, 2017, 05:49:36 PM
Is there such a thing?
Personally i have to check the news/price of various cryptos at least every day but far more frequent than that.
What if you sold everything, would you still feel the need to check? hoping the price is crashing now of course instead of mooning.
Is there a way out?.
Is there a support group for crypto addicts?

I think I got addicted to crypto very very soon after I first properly learnt how to use a Bitcoin wallet earlier this year. It was not even about money or price at the time, I just got very excited that I finally found out or understood exactly what Bitcoin was and how it worked (see, I always thought of it as another Paypal before).

I still like reading and talking about crypto every day, but I do not check prices every hour or even every day. I usually only know about news or new ATH from this forum. Still a big fan, no longer addict.
8530  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: 10k Bitcoin upcoming!? What are your plans for the Alts? on: November 20, 2017, 05:32:58 PM
Anyone feeling the way I am: Bitcoin is about to jump up to 10k!

We have broken 8k and the next stop seems to be 10k. This would mean a 25% increase in the price. If Alts follow the pattern from before (Bitcoin Gold and Segwit 2x forks) we can expect a drop of 30-40% in the Alts. I will probably sell my Alts and wait for the coming drop. Or does anyone think that Alts will rise along with Bitcoin? What are your plans for the Alts in the coming week/month?

Yeah, I think we cannot ignore the possibility of a 10k Bitcoin coming sooner than most people expected. I know I am surprised. All my alt coin bags prove it haha. I am definitely staying away from alts for a long time. It would take a big, big project that I am super interested in to pry away yet more Bitcoin from my hands. I think I am already "happy" with what I have and where they are. In deep losses but stable in dollar prices. This is probably going to be my outlook until Bitcoin corrects, if ever!
8531  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: 4 main reasons why ICO projects are not trusted on: November 20, 2017, 04:11:11 PM
Reviewing ICO projects is becoming a challenge because we have tens of them per week with their crowdsales starting. Some projects are making investors life harder because their websites ar not explaining how real they are and what they are really doing: using hype around cryptocurrency or trying to do the project.

The reasons why ICO teams are not trusted:
1. They have not links to social profiles of their members on facebook or linkedin.
2. There is no dedicated person that answers emails or in social media.
3. Communication is not personalized. You chat or email with a person with no name or a name you can not check is true.
4. You have to wait several days to get the answer from the team.

Very good points, I think nobody can disagree. In fact, I would even say numbers 4, 3, 2, then 1 are the priority. But to be honest, these are simply basic customer support that is very important to all start ups, all services, not just ICOs.

The smart ICOs now already take care of 1. Everyone has that. They even have 2 or 3 done easily now through Slack and Telegram and even here.

That said, the best ICOs invest a lot of money in promotion and bounty. so 3-4 are hired people from here and freelancers. So not necessarily the best solution.

Good projects recruit and train the support staff first. Then they launch.
8532  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Tokens (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][ICO] SPECTIV VIRTUAL REALITY + DECENTRALIZED ADTECH | SUCCESSFUL PRESALE on: November 19, 2017, 08:24:53 PM
Am just wondering what VR actually looks or feels like. I have nothing like that to try where I live unfortunately. Interesting concept even though I do not really understand most of the technical aspects! Site is a bit different from what I am used to seeing (that is a good thing by the way.).

Besides becoming a publisher is there a place we can request to have a city or area published on the main site, just out of curiosity?

Also, does anybody have a problem with feeling a little sick watching the videos? I really like them but I felt strong nausea after the second one on Iceland Sad I hope it does not mean I cannot see more products.
8533  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Online payment for ETH or LTC on: November 19, 2017, 08:03:28 PM
Litecoin is built especially as a cryptocurrency, was the first to conduct SegWit, is quick, cheap and has wide support. It also has already safely done atomic swaps presenting the ability of Lightning Network. Decentralized.

Ethereum is a cryptocurrency second, but first an ecosystem for dapps and smart contracts. It has also scaled but is not as cheap as LTC. It seems to be vulnerable to hacks and has been hard forked to reverse losses. Centralized leadership and development.

Litecoin wins my vote here.

8534  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Investment strategies on: November 19, 2017, 04:22:39 PM
You mention an important thing and this is target. But you must come up with precise steps about how you arrived at those targets. Remember, targets is not just about profit but also about loss limits. Yes! You must set a target of loss that you are willing to bear, before you stop and cut losses. It is not about saying 100%, it is about looking for the evidence to support the decisions, including why 100% is reasonable, the time frame to achieve it, and like I said, the losses you are willing to risk before pulling out.

Same thing for every aspect you invest in: ICOs, projects, coins. This is not a simple thing, this is not an easy thing. Do not be fooled!
8535  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Ethereum haven't really moved.. on: November 19, 2017, 12:24:14 PM
I might have been in agreement if this post were made before mid November, but have you seen the price of ETH recently? I would not call more than 10% gains a coin that has not really moved.

We have to get past the fact that the early crazy highs of April and May were just a wild ride for all alt coins. ETH had a $400 plus ATH but this was false demand created by those crazy ICO months. I think the $300 barrier was the real point to break past and if ETH can finish 2017 still well above it, then we can look to new records and a real move for ETH.
8536  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][ICO] MilkCoin [MLCN] - Agricultural Enterprise ICO 15.11.2017 on: November 19, 2017, 11:54:01 AM
Tokenize milk production? Really? Are you kidding?

Why not? This is a real economy - always beneficial to investors

I do not know ... ICO is something high-tech, computer. It's silly to tokenize a regular farm

Then you have misunderstood ICOs, which is how ICOs also manipulate people. ICO is simply an Initial Coin Offering, or in most cases as you can see a token offering. These days they are referred to as token generation events.

ICO is simply using blockchain as a new model for venture capital, in other words a different/decentralized model for fund raising, like a Kickstarter project, except secure through smart contracts.

Lots of new ICOs are actually nothing more than that, but pretend to be more. MilkCoin is for an actual industry. Why not an ICO?
8537  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Stratis speculation on: November 18, 2017, 04:48:02 PM
Oh wow, this is fantastic news! South Korea is simply the hottest market around for alts. I mean,,, look at the crazy demand for a coin even like Bitcoin Cash. Imagine what they would do if they realised how much potential Stratis has. Anyway, it has gone up about 1% today and still has a really long way to go before it hits $5, which is the price I bought it at!

But I think we can really look forward to some strong volumes on the Korean Won trading. That is, as long as those upset Bitcoin Cash traders get over their anger!
8538  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: [XMR] Monero Speculation on: November 18, 2017, 04:10:34 PM
Things I am thinking about, is the reason why Poloniex required XMR on? It put out the second alternative, replaced it with XMR, after which all of a sudden gave everything these additional markets that LTC never obtained.Perhaps LTC is simply so spunk, however I'm sensing low volume on XMR markets, and as a InchguessInch, less than LTC  had (do not include the LTC/XMR industry right now as a counter argument. that existed anyhow.Hmm ... maybe I will purchase some IFC, and trade it for XMR.I Then intend to commit everything in XMR, acquire some leverage and spunk. Gavin AndersonOrAndersson once stated BTC must be more private, so there is clear proof that XMR can make all of us wealthy.

It is difficult to predict and assess what exchanges want. In the beginning, exchanges made two things the priority. One was that the new project had a good development structure and reflected in good codes published on GitHub, this was to ensure if anything went wrong with the network, it would be able to rely on good support. Second was the wallet, exchanges need stable wallets that did not need much maintenance.

However, these days exchanges also list coins for a big fee. It costs now more than $10,000 per month to list a coin on an exchange. This is why you can see some coins are ignored by exchanges while others can suddenly jump on board for a few months (just by paying the fee).
8539  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][ICO] MilkCoin [MLCN] - Agricultural Enterprise ICO 15.11.2017 on: November 18, 2017, 10:19:30 AM
Hello. Just decided to pop by, after reading one of your posts in Medium (from your Twitter). I do not know about the rest of you guys, but I really like the idea of this ICO. No fancy word plays and no fancy dreams. Just a simple straightforward business plan. I do not think I have seen anything like this. Did anyone read their business plan? It is really impressive. I am quite surprised people dump 1000s into projects with no actual research but they overlook things like Milkcoin.

OP do you have any English information for the other documents? I am just curious to read it.

P,S, the people wearing your signature/avatar the personal message is spelled wrongly: "Milcoin"
8540  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Are altcoins dead? on: November 18, 2017, 10:01:14 AM
no altcoins arent dead and they are not bubble either , infact as you see most of them now are starting to recover again even if bitcoin is still rising. you know it is just normal for any coins (crypto or fiats) to increase or decrease because that is thier nature and also the demand and supply is one of the reason why they are always fluctuating.

Yes, this was the surprise for me. We all saw how alts rose in early 2017 with Bitcoin's first proper bull. But then every subsequent ATH and climb for Bitcoin has not been good news for alts at all. Until now. I was seriously thinking that I would see another wall of red when Bitcoin went back to 7k and beyond. But for some reason, all my alts are holding steady (still in some decline against BTC), not the horrible crash I was expecting. Can you imagine, even Dogecoin is beginning to move past $1.25. Always new learnings every day in crypto!
