8541  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: BCH price on: November 18, 2017, 08:37:33 AM
Exactly. There was just no way of bch rising so much and staying with the price it achieved. I don't think the coin is good but there are many people who are pretty confident about it and that's enough for bch to be on its high position and probably even rise a lot once in a while. If you (op) bought the coins on high prices - I guess it's too bad, because we are not likely to see such price changes with bitcoin cash in the near future. I suggest you to concentrate on other coins on the market.

I do not think this coin is good either. In fact, I am certain almost everyone who traded BCH did not think the coin is good, but they knew the price boom was happening so got into it for that. I think even secretly the people who supported BCH will always be jealous of the things bitcoin has and bitcoin cash pretends to have. In the end, we all see through their illussions. They even see through it. Nobody is fooled.

The pump above $1000 was pure speculation, pure pump. It will happen again.
8542  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin is a goose has fattened for slaughter on: November 17, 2017, 04:57:03 PM
So, OP, did you buy in all these alternate projects at the time you posted this? Did the rise of Bitcoin yesterday and today take you by surprise? Are you now holding even more bags or did you cut losses and realise your mistake?

Lesson of crypto: you never know what's going to happen next.
Lesson of Bitcoin: you cannot bet against the king long-term. The best you can do is take advantage of dips to sell your alts. But then when you do, you simply increase the value of Bitcoin.
8543  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Steem pyramid scheme revealed on: November 17, 2017, 01:37:38 PM
80% is a big one. I have investedn in steem and i believed in it. Its just sad how some developers are too greedy. They only want to get all our money. This makes me want to stop with the alts and just hold my bitcoin, then i won't be scammed.

Well, we should have all seen it coming. And every time it looked like it was getting worse, we were all told something new to keep our hopes up. I stopped Steemit long ago thankfully. I was writing original content and investing so much time in it, but kept getting bypassed by some new user who tripled reputation in 3 weeks thanks to a profile photo of a skimpy girl posting selfies and earning $50 for every zero content post.

That is when I said. Damn this system, it does not work.
8544  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: STRATIS for Longterm investment! on: November 17, 2017, 12:27:46 PM
Oh, Stratis is going to be a solid one for a very long time. I will ignore how I bought in at about $4-$5 since this is the type of project that will typically involve and NEED huge market capitalization. The price should outpace the supply in a year or two.

Be realistic with Stratis though, I think anything that assumes to jump 5x 10x and so on are just talking air. Stratis will do a solid climb that will look more like Waves or even Monero than the crazy spikes people want them to. Stratis is absolutely long term, not short, not even medium.
8545  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: ETH or LTC long term? on: November 17, 2017, 10:59:58 AM
Brand new to the cryptocurrency market.  Currently I hold a decent amount of LTC.  It's value has gone up nicely since I purchased it.  I've read all the predictions for LTC in 2018 and 2019.  It sounds promising as a long term hold...which is what I'm more comfortable doing...to reach $200 -$300 a coin.   I like the fact that there is a team in place trying hard to ensure it's future.  Charlie Lee may not be the most charismatic spokesman publicly but he's out there doing it which gives me confidence in his product.  Now, it's obvious that ETH is not going anywhere.  My question for the board is which outperforms the other in the next 5 years?  I tend to invest heavily in the direction that has the bigger upside.  Perhaps I should split my investing 50/50 regarding ETH and LTC?  What say the more experienced cryptocurrency gurus?

I have nothing against BTC.  I don't see it going anywhere.  It is the giant.  However, I feel the current price point is too high for my liking.

Thanks

I would suggest if you are not very clear on the two, follow your initial information and use it to guide your decision. I personally feel the strength of Litecoin is more subtle than Ethereum, but more stable and long term. Ethereum is a bit funny in that you never know what shape it will take. In 2016 it was forked, this year again just forked, it seems hard forks just happen every time there is a problem, like a simple rewind and play.

Maybe this works for ETH but I like to think I want to know what to expect, and Litecoin is that to me. $200 possible, but do not be hopeful of that in 2018. Long term hold for sure.
8546  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Bounty Money on: November 17, 2017, 10:38:03 AM
I dont really unerstand a question of this thread. Whats wrong with people who hold their altoins for a several years? It actually risky because your coins can became shitcoins in a momet, so it's up to me what shoud I do with my bounty's and altcoins.

You are thinking exactly like 99% of these so called bounty hunters. You have no concept of cryptocurrency as an ideal or as something to believe in for the future. If you think your coins can become shitcoins, then my friend you have to begin evaluating the projects you support with more care and advise. You have to join and support coins for the long term , that you believe in truly. This is crucial to heal the current crypto market full of dumping and shitcoins (as you yourself seem to say).

Yes you can do whatever you wish with your bounties, but soon campaigns will learn to sideline hunters like you.
8547  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Is it harder for altcoins to increase in profits now? on: November 17, 2017, 07:57:40 AM
Many coins, true, but it is very deceptive to think that if you buy a handful, you might get lucky with one. There are thousands of altcoins out there with new ones entering the scene so quickly it is hard to track. I am sure if you count the many coins, we might end up with 30 coins with 10x etc?

But with thousands to choose from, especially looking at price below 1 dollar and low market cap. You have less than 1% success rate. As you say, the difficulty to then identify the winner is just impossible. And no, I think it is not less or more difficult to achieve now, but more difficult to identify from a big crowd.
8548  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: ETH target 1000$ in ending of this year on: November 16, 2017, 05:38:58 PM
So, it would seem that this target will not be reached, with just over 6 weeks left to the end of 2017. Even if it gains 10% a week, it will not be enough,,, although if it does that, it will almost be double and I will hate myself for saying it!

On the other hand, if Bitcoin continue and crosses the 10k territory then ETH along with all the other alts will want to push boundaries and break new all times. So, who knows, $500 can be a good Christmas present for all you Ethereum holders. Too bad about the rewards going down, though.
8549  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: What the hell ! Please everybody look at prices before buying BCC !! on: November 16, 2017, 04:50:50 PM
Im just happy that I never bought bitcoincash, the ones I got stay in my wallet eversince the fork and are supposed to rot there. No utility and no store of value. Just pure hype and nothing else. People that jump in bitcoincash will most likely regret it sooner or later. Even if they are still in profit, they would have made more with the BTC dip a few days back...

Why not just dump those coins on exchanges at these inflated prices? You might think you are showing a sign of support but those coins are not rotting there. There are making supply more scarce, in a way you could be inadvertently making it pump higher because there is less of it for sale on the market. In fact, this makes me think there must be hundreds of thousands of coins just lying around, because some Bitcoin users did not extract their Bitcoin Cash sitting somewhere on the blockchain. Maybe that is a small percentage of the reason causing it to be worth something?
8550  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Ripple team up American Express on: November 16, 2017, 04:18:48 PM
I guess this must be good news for American investors but I have never seen an American Express sign or even ad in my country. I understand from media and from past people that it used to be accepted in a lot of places even here in Asia, but its time has come to pass. Maybe this is one of the way the company is trying to revive the fortunes. I know a lot of old companies are looking for some answer to the future, and blokchain seems to be the accessible answer. But for now, if Waves did not rise when Burger King used it, will Ripple rise when it is used by Amex?
8551  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Do you think LTC go up soon? on: November 16, 2017, 12:40:30 PM
Litecoin is always a good investment. It's shown moxy over the years and with all the bitcoin drama might suck up some of btc's dominance.

Moxy. That is a word I have not seen for more than ten years! But yes, Litecoin is always a good investment, and even at this price I always put aside a tiny bit of Bitcoin whenever I have spare. The drama free and friendly environment with a top notch active development team is going to make this a secure hedge for volatile crypto for many years. Even price wise if it stays sideways for 2018, I will never be concerned since I enjoy almost 100% gains today already.
8552  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Are frequent Forked Bitcoin's coin mere speculative in nature or any utility ? on: November 16, 2017, 09:58:42 AM
Funny way to put it that Bitcoin can get pregnant with forks. But this is the reality fo decentralization where everyone can do anything they please, whether it is for the real fulfilment of their selfish goals or for the betterment of the crypto community. We saw this year the various forks and attempted forks. We saw how they were used to threaten people, threaten users, and we saw how some spoke of the true values of Bitcoin.

But in the end, we also saw how everything was driven by profit. And the so called ideals once touted are forgotten, it's all about mining and price now.
8553  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Why does it matter that there will be more hash power? on: November 15, 2017, 09:26:36 PM
Is it not that even with all the hashpower, it is still concentrated in almost the hands of the few? I read all the time that in China there is 80% of the hashrate. True, not all Chinese miners will jump at the same time as we have seen from Bitcoin Cash, Segwit2x, and Bitcoin Gold. But it almost happened, did it not? In theory, it is not so much hash power but the distribution that matters, or am I misunderstanding the meaning of this 51% attack threats.

I thought the network was virtually/p secure even two years ago at half the hashpower of today.
8554  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Antshares/ NEO [NEO] on: November 15, 2017, 08:01:27 PM
So we have several best prices and best entry points, all purporting great value for NEO. The heaviest times were around the time it was around $30. I almost got in too, because of Red Pulse. Luckily I missed out on that ICO, early problems distributing and then immediate heavy losses abounded. Then when it slid to $25 people said buy more. At $20 it was an opportunity not to be missed!

It eventually got down all the way to $17 I believe? Now it is almost $30 so at least everyone is relieved. But not those who bought with BTC!
8555  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: [XMR] Monero Speculation on: November 15, 2017, 04:39:00 PM
I think next year is possible but not probable.  My central estimate is q1 2019. What you do in your trousers is of no interest to me.

I am no expert on dash, but consider it conceivable, if unlikely, that it may be 4000 in the same quarter; however, it is at least equally likely that a reflexive cascade of masternode liquidations, or instamine dishoarding, or a high-visibility compromise - take your pick; surely compromise would lead to a torrent of liquidation - will take dash down to double digits, even single, at that time.

I am no expert in either Dash or Monero, but if you look from my simplistic average user (yes, user, nor just hoarder and definitely not trader), then you can understand my long surprise with how they have both turned out so far in terms of price.

I have so many uses for Monero, but only know 1 place that I might use it.

Forget comparisons of tech, both are probably too sophisticated for users like me to utilize 100%. I cannot speculate what Dash or XMR will cost in 2018 or 2019.

But exactly, 4000 is posssible, I can imagine it for DASH. But I can more easily imagine worse things like you point out: MN liquidations, instamine offloading.
8556  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Bjork endorsing AudioCoin - Giving 100 free AudioCoins with her new album. on: November 15, 2017, 10:48:26 AM
If they know exactly what their doing then they're commiting fraud.  And that means prison time for them.  I think Bjork herself has no idea what's going on, but someone in her circle is the type of scammer I described above.  So maybe they can escape prison since they're unaware that they are scamming.  Lol.

that means the majority of users on this forum are fraudulent criminals  Cheesy

You know, it would be interesting if someone involved with a crypto project would be pursued by legal officers and prosecuted in court of law. Up to now, we have seen crypto exchange owners on trial like Mt Gox but that is not a cryptocurrency itself.

We have also seen police raid OneCoin and such but again that is not a real cryptocurrency, simply a ponzi scheme with not even a real blockchain, just a fake coin to sell to MLM people and reap commission profits.

Hope Bjork does not get caught up in this.
8557  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Waves future price on: November 14, 2017, 11:16:18 AM
How could it be an ethereum killer while waves coin is less far than ethereum itself? Waves is little bit questionable to me and I will be surprise if they can defeat the current standings of the ETH in future. But let see what will happen on it since there are some certain things that can lift up the waves but seems the dev of it can put it down since it's been tag with shadiness for the past days.

I really do not like it when people refer to Waves as an Ethereum killer,,, since when do people like to regard these platforms as competitors to each other? Besides, if price and not product is the estimate of success, then are we saying Bitcoin Cash is the winner, and it has killed Ethereum? Of course not.

Waves to me has already incredible use as a decentralized exchange. The ease of use and basic attractiveness of the GUI is a beauty. Give it time, people will come on board. And they do not need to abandon Ethereum or anything. Just another tool, with different uses.
8558  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: POSW coin on: November 14, 2017, 08:40:30 AM
I almost forgot about posw coin actually. All I remember was a few months ago they launched an internal ICO, and then their coin got worse and worse value, and they even had a hack? I was really interested in their model of staking because I could not afford to stake wallets on my own, so was a bit disappointed when they had to stop their project. POSW 2.0 it was then. What are the new developments I wonder.

Their idea is still brilliant actually, wonder why no project tried the same?
8559  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin Gold (BTG) on: November 14, 2017, 07:25:20 AM
Wow, just wow. We all knew the problems would come, we all expected it. But even I thought that it was premeditated, that the problems gave the delays necessary for the devs to keep on mining. I actually thought they were going to properly launch and fix all their problems so they could continue shaving the community for money.

And then this happens. Actual proof that the devs are so incompetent.

Warning to forkers: this is the reason Bitcoin core is respected and when they think something is not safe or ready, you better be sure they know what they are talking about.
8560  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: What will happen if Bitcoin Gold (BTG) goes live? on: November 13, 2017, 06:40:32 PM
I just think both bitcoin cash and bitcoin gold may be accepted by cryptocurrency folks like the alternate currencies.
If you imagine bitcoin cash was considered one of worthless coins but now it is nearly $2500.
It depends on demand, traders can make any coin skyrocketing anytime.

Both will be accepted by crypto trader and speculator folk, apart from their own miners and supporters. Kind of worse than most alts actually, who have proper projects and roadmaps. Bitcoin Gold is already live now, and they also had their premine (to pay for what, we have to trust it is for dev salary!).

Bitcoin Cash was not considered worthless, it was considered pointless. Just because it trades now at $1300 (yes, half the value you posted yesterday) does not make it worthy or worthless. It has value, but not beyond trading.
