861  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Wallet for Android / Re: Best wallet for Android? on: January 03, 2024, 11:24:03 AM
It is quite troublesome if your country does not provide any support for crypto,
even to the point of saying that the use of crypto in your country will be considered a crime.
As I said, it's banned. Even the government arrested crypto entrepreneurs who were doing exchange business in Bangladesh. The government accuses them of money laundering. Even average crypto users are not safe here. You should forget about any kind of support from the government when it comes to cryptocurrency. I believe many people from the government also use Bitcoin. But they do not say anything about it.

One thing I have noticed is that, it's usually developing nations who are keen on banning/thwarting crypto, while developed nations are busy creating/improving regulations.

If developing countries wanna get better, at least follow footsteps of developed nations. A mere fair tax laws with freedom for crypto to flourish will give government tax revenue and happy citizens.

Lack of understanding likely contributes to such decisions.

Woa! SA 55 all-out. I expected low score today because SA lost early wickets, and they do worse whenever that happens, but didn't expect them to get done at 55. India literally bossed SA after losing first test.

Indian inning has started and Jaiswal gone for duck, 4 failed innings back to back. Selectors should recognize the skills of batters in each format and accordingly have them play.
863  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Crypto and the Masses on: January 03, 2024, 10:04:27 AM
For crypto to get adopted by masses, crypto should do better than what is already mainstream. Why pay with crypto with it's long confirmation times and hefty fees when they can use card/cash to make payments instant and free.

You can't do worse than what's mainstream and expect that it'll get adopted.

Crypto must become feeless, instant and able to handle large amount of transactions.

Ashwin is out
He's so underrated in this Indian team because our batting lineup is not confident enough in the SENA. Management always tries to find extra batter with all rounder capabilities. I get that condition won't suit his bowling style but he's probably the only guy who can keep the batters quiet from the one end and won't end up with 4 rpo.

Ashwin is an all-rounder, I'd have preferred him over Prasidh honestly.

South Africa have faced a batting disaster. Zorzi and Stubbs return to the dressing room. South Africa lost their fourth wicket by 15 runs. I doubt whether the South African team can collect even 100 runs in the first innings.

Mohammad Sirja is in great form. Bowling 5 overs he conceded only 3 runs and took 3 important wickets. Bumrah picks up the wicket of Tristan Stubbs. Both these Indian bowlers destroyed South Africa's top order. Now it is much more difficult for South Africa to come back and bat well. However, South Africa has some talented batsmen in its squad. Even if they manage to collect 150 in the first innings, maybe South Africa can make the match competitive.

India's top bowlers shine again. I also expect SA to make around 150, whenever SA loses early wickets, they come under pressure and pretty much fall like dominoes. Elgar and Zorzi are in-form batsmans and to get 'em out early confirms SA team won't make many runs today.

SA also don't have Miller in squad, only Marco Jansen to come after Bedingham and Verreynne.

Edit: There goes Bedingham.

Pakistan makes 313. Didn't expect them to cross 300 with how their top order batters failed but here we are. Significant contributions from Rizwan, Jamal and Agha, former too missed their centuries by 12 and 18 runs respectively.

Cummins again takes a 5 wicket haul.

On India vs SA 2nd test: Prasidh Krishna likely to play today, as Rohit talked about backing new players in press conference.

Pat Cummins's contribution to the Australian cricket last year was significant. He has already started with a 5 wicket haul this year, and more to come from him as the year progresses. Do not know whether getting Prasidh Krishna in the playing 11 would be a good idea. He has been doing well and has been costly as a bowler in his South African series. He did not do well in the T20 games and was not that productive in the ODI, rather having him it would be good if Rohit selects Mukesh.

Prasidh is playing, Mukesh Kumar got spot replacing Thakur.

Ashwin is out, Jadeja is in. Ashwin is already 37 years old, so he's likely gonna retire soon and come back few years later to coach the team, lol.

MLR vs MLS: Melbourne against Melbourne. Rain shortened match, 14 overs to play yet MLR played slow — Harvey making 18 out of 16, Fraser-Mcgurk 14 of 19 balls, DeKock 23 out of 16. Mcgurk played completely an unnatural game.

97 was no score to defend, Stars chase it easily witn 2 overs remaining.
868  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Lamina1 airdrop speculation on: January 03, 2024, 05:09:13 AM
Hundreds of Discord servers?  Lol...  Wow, I couldn't even keep up with the 11 I'm in and I'm really active to just the three of them.  But yeah, I think the community could be a good metric if the project and their airdrop could at least be a good one.  I mean look at SUI.  Before their ICO, yup it was an ICO, their Discord was full of people getting into mundane conversations which lead me to think that it was being botted.  The devs prolly picked up on this so they decided to do an ICO instead of an airdrop.

I could imagine the botters' displeasure with the decision.  Lol.  They've been going at it for months thinking it was gonna be another pay day.

Yep, community matters a lot. A community that's filled with 'wen moon', 'wen airdrop sir' kinda members, such projects never last.

870  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: You want to make USDT transaction, check transaction fee across chains on: January 02, 2024, 01:17:47 PM
I don't remember when I used the ETH network last time for my usage. I normally use the TRON chain for USDT transactions. The website showing TRON fees is bigger than ETH, lol. I thought ETH fees are normally now around 3 USD. Smiley

Tron is expensive than Ethereum these days, unless you are having Tron staked to make free transactions but it requires hefty amount of Tron staked, unfeasible for normal user.

Quote
The polygon network is super cheap based on other networks. But its usage is not bigger like TRON.

Probably because almost half circulating Tron is staked, and since Tron transactions are free if you have TRX already staked, it can be of use. Most exchanges supporting TRC20 USDT with low withdrawal fees also plays role in it's popularity.

871  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Achieving a goal on: January 02, 2024, 11:42:34 AM
You could invest your $25K to Ethereum, and wait until it doubles, it's sure to. Once it does, take out your initial investment and play with profit, you can take suggestions as you deem fit for what to with profitted money from rest of comments to make you reach goal of your 4x.

It's relatively easy to gain few x returns in crypto, but you must be careful in safe guarding your investments. Don't hold your funds on exchanges. Create new ethereum wallet on Metamask, make sure your pc is clean from virus/malwares and hold the seed phrase dear to your life. Never reveal it to anybody, no matter the circumstances.

This is my personal advise, but you alone will be responsible for what you do with your money.
872  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Test Cricket Prediction and Discussion Thread [self - mod] on: January 02, 2024, 09:54:47 AM
I expect few changes tomorrow. Although, Avesh Khan has been added to squad I don't expect much from him, and he should stick to bench. Mukesh Kumar should make into the squad instead of Prasidh. I find Jaiswal to be T20 player, he should stick to that and hone his skills there, let Abhimanyu be given chance instead of him.

Jadeja is likely to play tomorrow, it's good for India.

Just do it, is best tip against procrastination.

tell me if it is good idea to write a summary for each episode or a waste of time?

It's a good idea. To write a summary, yourself needs to understand topic well, whether other people read or not but, it will certainly help you.

874  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: i need a few trx for fee on: January 02, 2024, 09:11:54 AM
If I'm not mistaken, sending USDT from the TRX network requires Energy and bandwidth, so 1 or 2 TRX is not enough if there is nothing I mentioned above.

Yes, it's not enough. USDT transfer on Tron will require between 10-20 TRX, I did send 4 TRX to op because I had 5 TRX in my Tron account lying around, sent 4 and 1 TRX for fee.

Best bet I'd suggest to op is, if he has something on cheaper chains like Polygon/BSC/Optimism chain or Dogecoin, convert from these to TRX using https://stealthex.io, ~$5 minimum transaction amount, withdraw USDT first, and then remaining TRX and be done with Tron chain.

You can also use same instant exchange to convert USDT to TRX and receive it in same wallet and then withdraw TRX. There is no point in  using DEX to convert USDT to TRX because it'll be expensive, last time I tried, it was asking 110 TRX to complete transaction, back then TRX was cheaper so it was $7 fee, still expensive as hell.

Did anyone see this? Ian Chappell taking hit at Pakistan's fielding,

Quote
At one point in their career the excellent Pakistan pace duo of Wasim Akram and Waqar Younis had claimed 60% of their Test and ODI wickets bowled or lbw. That’s an outrageously high figure and suggests the two fast bowlers knew not to trust their own fielders

Fielding is underrated and most people seems to overlook it, a good fielding team can make bowling department look good and equally it works opposite. Team's fielding performance reflects in bowlers stats, but it's bowler alone who gets judged.

In, Australia's wc win also, fielding played huge role in their win.

https://insidesport.in/cricket/pak-vs-aus-ian-chappell

He is already 80 years old, and to stay relevant, he came up with this statement. Veteran players from Australia have a habit of coming up with weird statements. Fielding is important in cricket there is no question about it. What I am concerned about is this guy is in his right state of mind as he is comparing the present fielding condition with a time when Australia was not known for fielding. The only country that was considered good in fielding was RSA in that era.

You are misunderstanding here, he said that about Pakistan not Australia.

The ZKFair token claim has begun - https://zkfair.io/airdrop The airdrop was distributed among the participants who interacted on the Polygon zkEVM network and amounted to $20-50 per wallet. Deadline - 10.01.2024  The network commission is paid in USDC and can be transferred via the Orbiter bridge - https://www.orbiter.finance/?source=ZKFair&dest=Ethereum&token=ETH.

Airdrop was for lumoz (whatever it is), polygon zkevm — never used it, wasn't eligible, and zk L2s (I assume this is for Zksync era, Linea) — this one I was eligible for.

and we need to spend alot of gas right?

I paid 79c to claim 3$ worth airdrop, lol, you may claim if you find it worth it. I claimed cause who knows future, it may become big  Grin

https://zkfair.io/airdrop — check here eligibility first, no charge, just need to connect wallet.

But my question is USDT polygon does it work only on binance if no what other exchanges accepts the use of USDT polygon.

Polygon is established chain, most exchanges should support it, if I were to list you all these exchanges list will too long, better just check yourself on deposit page of exchanges you use. You can also use instant exchanges.

Hive is pretty underrated. It's social media blockchain. Free and instant transfers (although you have to stake some Hive for that), plenty dapps. You can write content or curate to earn Hive.

It's forked from Steem by the community because they did not appreciate Justin Sun's takeover over Steemit. The able community is one major reason why I think Hive will reach heights.
I think I am familiar with this coin. I think I participated for their bounty campaign? I have to check it. thanks for bringing that coin here

I don't think Hive had any bounty campaign on Bitcointalk, if you are talking about bounties outside of here, then may you did.

Actually How can we define a good research?  reading their white papers? Some times even scam project create good white papers even they disappear Smiley
Yeah. Reading one of those fancy whitepaper things can tell you something about what the project's going for..

Correct, whitepapers may give vague idea about the project but other than that they don't help much. Often projects don't follow what they write in their WP.

Look at Tron, it's wp was plagiarised yet the coin itself is huge success in the crypto industry.

880  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: T20 and T20I cricket prediction and discussion on: January 01, 2024, 03:42:55 PM
SYT vs HBH: I think this was the worst performance from Thunders this season. They did pretty good in last 5 overs tho, as they garnered at 10 rpr in last 5 thanks to Chris Green's close to 200 SR batting, and gave a respectable total to chase.

Relatively easy chase for Hurricanes, one thing I have noticed is that when there is low chase, the chasing team will play slow and make easy chase hard for themselves. Wade making 22 from 15, how often does that happen?
