861  Local / Altcoins (Bahasa Indonesia) / Re: [Diskusi] Altcoin yang Jadi Pesaing Utama Bitcoin on: September 11, 2023, 02:25:48 AM
862  Local / Bahasa Indonesia (Indonesian) / Re: [Q&A] Tanya Jawab Seputar Forum Disini/Ask about this forum here! on: September 11, 2023, 01:39:02 AM

863  Local / Bahasa Indonesia (Indonesian) / Re: [INFO] Informasi Phishing, Malware, Virus Dst (WAJIB BACA) on: September 11, 2023, 01:24:32 AM

864  Local / Bahasa Indonesia (Indonesian) / Re: Berani mengambil resiko apakah salah satu tindakan menuju sukses on: September 11, 2023, 12:51:36 AM
Ngambil reksadana saham yang potensi profitnya mencapai 5% per tahun saja kadang perlu mikir" lagi mengingat riwayat tahun-tahun sebelumnya kadang ga bagus.
865  Economy / Economics / Re: Central banks getting ready for cbdc-s USA is good for freedom on: September 08, 2023, 10:32:29 AM
Where do you get this idea from? Sounds overly optimistic and ignores a ton of problems the USA has with crypto right now. SEC has been suing people left and right, while their next target is clearly stablecoins in the near future. Even if those coins did survive, why would you think people need to move to the USA just to use them? I'm not going to lie, it sounds like you're just pulling things from the air and doing US propaganda.
866  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Hong kong x Bitcoin on: September 08, 2023, 03:03:04 AM
I checked the trading history and it seems like most orders are created by bots. Kinda surprising that they openly show small orders that are likely a bot yet failed to reach at least hundreds of dollars of trading volume. It seems like the volume also went down recently?

The UI itself is quite okay, other than a lack of interest from the targeted market or lack of marketing/competitiveness, I don't see other reasons why the exchange would fail. Kinda reminds me of one exchange I followed in the past. They spent a ton of money buying ad slots on La Liga, then went bankrupt just a few months later.
867  Economy / Service Announcements / Re: Filesity - Sell Your Digital Files for Cryptocurrency on: September 08, 2023, 02:43:47 AM
I can't seem to find a way to register a new account. Do I need to upload files before it shows the new account registration? I saw a similar profit-sharing model in the past, but the project no longer continues its service due to a lack of interest from the market. IIRC, it was called Files.fm or something. What is your strategy to avoid similar results? Your competitor is not limited to any crypto-based file storage provider, but platforms like Mega and so on.
868  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Trading bot for sevenseas.exchange on: September 08, 2023, 02:23:24 AM
once downloaded a bot from github and fixed it a bit. The bot tried  first to buy and sell  with some restrictions on price and percentage. To be honest, the risk is big, but it was worth it (I made $468 from $50 in a month) But writing interactions from scratch and the bot is not smart enough.
So basically you've managed to edit and run it on your own? What kind of features are you looking for that you are looking for in a script-based trading bot? I suggest making a new thread on services if you want to commission someone to edit or make a bot for you. There is no way you can find a free one that is designed specifically for your purpose. Even if you do, there will always be some restrictions like limited API calls and so on.
869  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Smart contracts on Bitcoin...Are they worth it? on: September 08, 2023, 02:06:30 AM
What I meant was BTC's ability to become a "Turing-complete" smart contracts platforms like Ethereum. With the aforementioned sidechains, it is now possible. This won't affect Bitcoin's level of security because everything happens "off-chain" (on a separate network).
It sounds like you're talking about anchoring on the Bitcoin blockchain. To be honest, I've heard similar discussions in the past, although it is not focused on smart contract platforms but just altcoin anchoring. I'm also on the neutral side, if anchoring is the goal I don't think it will affect any security or fees. It is difficult to encourage users to use smart contracts if it is difficult to use or understand/verify though. At the end of the day, any spammy projects will likely die since their users will need to pump out a lot of fees, just like what happened to ordinal. CMIIW.
870  Economy / Long-term offers / Re: Im looking for investors for interesting project idea real estate on: September 07, 2023, 02:09:28 AM
I have seen similar ideas but I haven't seen anyone related to real estate. If the OP is to be transparent in this, it will be a good idea to own a property in UK. Although for reselling purposes. I am not sure how friendly this will be for non UK residents. I have done a business that relates UK from my country and I was frustrated, in the end I lost. Sometimes you would be asked to come over to UK. If such money exists, people will like to buy in the country of their origin or the country they can easily visit without much restrictions.
If you can refine your idea and make it workable, you may find investors.
I remember a project called Max Property or something, don't know if they changed their name by now. They buy real estate and show the ownership of each member based on the token they own. The idea is similar, the members give them money to buy and then they will buy the real estate and manage it. Blockchain and tokens don't give them much edge though, since they request KYC with details that is no different than traditional real estate crowdfunding. At the very least, OP should build an MVP first before he ask for money if he's serious about this.
871  Bitcoin / Wallet software / Re: [WARNING] Infamous Chisel (malware) steals crypto wallets data! on: September 07, 2023, 01:49:33 AM
and you need root privileges to access electrum files.
Not sure how root access is being processed if your device is infected with malware. Regardless of whether it is possible or not, using a secure device should be the priority for most users.

Are you sure the open source wallet like Unstoppable on my andriod phone is not affected and is save?  Also, wallet like Unstoppable does not have a desktop version so the only option to use them is on the Android or iOS device. So what are the tips for using them ?

Also for this malware to get activated, you need to click on any suspicious link and it gets downloaded  Huh Anyone using the phone with care, not clicking unknown links may be safe from this attack ?
The best protection is to use a secure device as mentioned above. Whether the malware will target new open-source wallets or not, you should be able to prevent any hack if you don't click on malicious links. For this specific malware, the distribution method is quite unclear based on the news that I've read. Safe to assume it is distributed through similar means like fake app downloads, phishing links, etc. If you use a phone as your main device, then you should focus more on improving your security practices. At the end of the day, you should make sure your device is free from malware etc regardless if you use a crypto wallet or not.
872  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Alteration of bitcoin 21M cap: Is it possible, necessary or needless? on: September 07, 2023, 01:33:07 AM
I personally think it is too soon to talk about any changes in the supply. People can still use sats just fine, there are other issues that are likely more urgent in the near future such as the decrease of block reward and so on. I'd rather focus the discussion over there if people really need to argue over something. That being said, the limited supply is definitely one of the key reasons people invest in BTC. Still, you can still use BTC as a currency if your goal is not investment at all.
873  Bitcoin / Legal / Re: SEC vs NFTs on: September 07, 2023, 01:27:31 AM
But if there are clear cut laws, then for sure NFT or projects are going to carry it out within the boundaries so that they won't violate any laws established. But for now, it seems that we are in the western type of era. SEC can swing at anyone they want, and then projects, some of them might be pulling out scams after scams.
I believe that is the key problem. No regulation certainty allows many things to happen, either abuse from the government or just scams running around with little to no incentive to stop them. Things like this should not last that long. I don't know why it takes so long for regulations to come out either, considering other countries already propose many bills to be approved. On the other hand, people need to improve their awareness so they don't have to rely on the law to avoid easy-to-spot scams like NFT airdrop, etc. CMIIW.
874  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Colorado DMV now accepts cryptocurrency for online services. on: September 07, 2023, 01:06:36 AM
So, the DMV must revise it ASAP. because there are several customers who care about this. And, apart from that all, I have respect for what they did, Crypto is the future when they accept that, which mean they care about the change, and it would be a great breakthrough for the company.
I think it is possible that they don't want to trouble themselves setting up a payment system so they just use PayPal instead. Not to mention it is also possible that PayPal gives them some incentive in one way or another. I don't think the average joe really cares about which payment system they use. At the end of the day, this is not that much different from paying with fiat, you just risk your crypto if you store it on PayPal, to begin with. CMIIW.

It's too late to complain about Bitcoin failing to become a direct peer-to-peer electronic cash system. Crypto exchanges and crypto payment gateways like Bitpay became a thing years ago. Yes, they are "middlemen", but at least they add better customer convenience.
I don't think it fails, just that people are trying to find more use cases for their own purpose. You can still directly buy/sell things with crypto without any middlemen anyway.
875  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: COMMUNITY HORRIFIED BY PLAN TO BURN TIRES TO PRODUCE BITCOIN not a good situatio on: September 06, 2023, 03:15:30 AM
So if I read this correctly, the company already asked for permission and the regulation is allowing them to do it? Sounds like the key issue is the terrible regulation related to environmental concerns. Whether they want to use it to mine or not, a similar debate will arise if the law is not changed. Looks like this is not the first time either. Another company already did a similar thing in the past, which begs the question if the lobbying is not strong enough or if the company went bankrupt before any harm was done. CMIIW.
876  Bitcoin / Wallet software / Re: [WARNING] Infamous Chisel (malware) steals crypto wallets data! on: September 06, 2023, 02:56:49 AM
according to report information is written to the various files in the /data/local is affected, this means that electrum is not affected.
Is it possible that the attacker rewrote the code to specifically target Electrum devices, or just expand their attack targets in general? Even if that is not possible, it is still unsafe to keep running your Electrum on an infected devices. Who knows what kind of malware it will download in the future, not to mention they still collect data about you regardless of what wallet you use.
877  Bitcoin / Legal / Re: SEC vs NFTs on: September 06, 2023, 02:36:47 AM
These NFT tokens need strong regulations because it has become a free market for scams.
It also brings negative PR to the crypto community as a whole. I've seen way too many people register NFT = scam = crypto, although I don't think relying on regulation is the best choice. At the end of the day, people's awareness is key to solving this issue, sadly most people just fall for them easily. As long as the SEC doesn't blindly define every token as NFT or every NFT needs their control, I also think what they are doing with this is okay. Not sure how long my opinion will stay the same though, since the SEC is unpreditable nowadays.
878  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: GNY Range Report - Free AI tools for traders. on: September 06, 2023, 01:20:24 AM
I agree with Cobgoblincave4 that we are hitting a bit of a bump in the road with the accuracy figures for XRP; currently sitting at 75.54% when forecasting price volatility. I am confident though that we will get it up into the 90's like many of the other tokens we cover.
Latest forecast and historical for XRP below as an example.
So how do you improve the accuracy? Do you feed new data or is there any tweak to the algorithm? I believe some coins are just wildly volatile since their fundamental changes quickly like XRP after the SEC case, so it is not surprising if your current model failed to stay within 90% like other coins. People should be aware that this 'prediction' can't correctly express any change in fundamental values if I get your explanation correctly.
879  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: BUSD users will be able to convert Busd to other stablecoins until February 2024 on: September 06, 2023, 01:01:04 AM
I get that BUSD is not the only one, but how do we know that USA will not pressure USDT into doing the same thing? What happens if they attack every stablecoin and then make their own CBDC and force everything else to close shop?
People should look for a decentralized alternative like DAI if that ever happens. It is possible that they will also try to limit the movement of such products, but I believe it will be impossible to kill all of them. That does sound bleak, but you can also opt to hold BTC only. There might be some sacrifice like slower trading speed but it should protect your privacy to some extent, unless you're trading on a KYC platform. That being said, it is not surprising that Binance is getting attacked left and right.
880  Bitcoin / Wallet software / Re: [WARNING] Infamous Chisel (malware) steals crypto wallets data! on: September 05, 2023, 02:25:30 AM
As I can see this article it seems there are too many ways you might be affected.
At the very least one group distributes this malware using a debugging tool[1], probably by packaging it through some debugging tool for those who are interested on Android debugging. It is also possible that is spread through the Google Play Store as usual since they are terrible at filtering malware apps. Just recently there are fake Telegram and Signal apps being removed because they contain malware[[2]. CMIIW.
