powersup had to wait about 1 week for his first stake reward.......

it could take up to 100 days until you get a stake. https://github.com/Distrocoin/DistroCoin/blob/master/src/main.cpp#L47

and yes, you have to be patient with your stakerewads if you look at the sources..
but this doesn't change the fact that PoS is 100% working...

why then is staking so inconsistent? was this a specification of Raxe.io? some will get their stake today while others have to wait 3 months to get their first stake? i do not consider this working.. or perhaps more explanation on pos distribution is needed.

i would imagine that raxe would also like to see his stake occur before he commits to completing the contract. as would i. so just like the rest of us who have to wait.. so will you.
862  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] DISTROCOIN X11 / WALLET UPDATE / DEBIT CARDS SIGNUP / MACOSX WALLET on: June 13, 2014, 03:48:38 PM

Proof the win wallet is staking  Smiley
powersup... what is your wallet version? my version button is like this

how do i know that is a win wallet? does my wallet have to be open to stake? ive had it open for days.. left it closed.. opened for days again.. and all it says is minting. if this is what the dev calls a finished job i myself am not satisfied.

edit: from here it looks like it took a week for your first stake to come through??
863  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] DISTROCOIN X11 / WALLET UPDATE / DEBIT CARDS SIGNUP / MACOSX WALLET on: June 13, 2014, 03:40:52 PM
STAY AWAY FROM THIS SCAMMER !

RAXE.IO = William Giles = SCAMMER!!!

i warn all users to stay away from this crapdev and his coin and any project linked to him.

as you can see, I FIXED THE SOURCES (look at the last commit = github.com/distrocoin/distrocoin) and we had an appointment. I was paid about 40% of the agreed amount in front.

I and ra1nb0wdash fixed and tested the sources in an new network. And mining + staking
worked without problems. After i sent him the sources he said he will pay me the rest and so i
compiled him the WINDOWS wallet and sent it to him.

BUT WILLIAM GILES SCAMMED ME AND DIDN'T PAY THE REST!!!

WE WILL FIGHT THIS SCAMMER AND HIS SCAMMING COMPANY UNTIL THEY PAY US WHAT
BELONGS TO US!!

#OPantiRAXE will start tonight.

Wow....that's fucked up. No good sign....That means that the only DEV that was able to keep this coin going is now not available any more   Huh

PAY THE GUY !!!

Wow you really gonna believe one persons side of a story without hearing the full story from both parties, even if this is true, which I believe its not, why not give the owner of the coin Raxe.io the benefit of the doubt and let him tell his side of the story, I'm sure there is a pefectly good explaination, or its just FUD to get the price down, so "Bitsta" can buy cheap coins.

there is NO explanation for it.

i commited the new sources + sent him the new wallet-binary.
he said that staking is NOT working.

we tested it two times in an new network. even rented a VPS for it.
everything worked fine.
we also checked the forum and saw many other users staking without problems.

thats it. we held our part of the deal. Raxe.io didn't.

SO RAXE.IO SCAMMED US.

conclusion:
RAXE.IO = WILLIAM GILES = SCAMMER!!!

well ok i am interested in hearing what raxe.io has to say before anything.

i would like to point out.. that staking does not indeed appear to be working on my windows wallet. it simply says minting and has been since i bought my coins a week ago. i thought that minting meant it would stake. but im seeing no indication at all.

so u know what.. from my perspective.. i think you should look at the source again and find out what is the problem for windows users.

you were hired to do a job.. u shouldnt get paid unless the client is COMPLETELY SATISFIED with the product.

Can someone please make a copy paste signature I can use? with the nobl sign and all the links?
Might be even a good idea to post it in the main thread?

I tried to do it myself but I am half retard.

Lol

Mine is

see that guy who just sold at 1300?? i bet he just feels right peachy now with a bid at 1500 if he had waited only 1 minute longer. learn some patience people.. crypto doesnt mena because you buy today now it can rocket.. wait!

and also.. try not to leave a whole bunch of coins on the exchange for them to collect all the stake.. not very smart! the exchange itself can undersell you. so i suggest you buy how much coins you want and remove it from the exchange to your wallet. mine is staking quite nicely.
866  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] MugatuCoin - Traded on Bittrex Now! - Now With A Market Cap! on: June 13, 2014, 02:47:51 PM
I don't understand you guys! it's normal that coin price isn't an isometric line there are pump dump -normal
The real value of this cryptocurency is about 15-20k so don't panic we only have to wait a second:)

exactly.. no coin has ever gone up up up up up constantly. soon those who are selling at this price would be only those selling at a loss because they bought higher and sold lower in panic. but whatever.. with only 1.8 million coins at this price.. im not inclined to panic for anything. the dev seems to be still working in the background. i will wait for updates.
867  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] MugatuCoin - Traded on Bittrex Now! - Now With A Market Cap! on: June 13, 2014, 02:31:47 PM
sell now, the coisn is dead already.

what was that.. i didnt hear u.. buy more mugatu?? k got it LOL
He write in every thread that the coin is dead Wink Not only MUGA, MUGA won't die Cheesy

actually you're quite wrong. i write on every thread where the coin is a very good goin but just needs some more community involvement.

are you refering to noblecoin?? earlier this year when it was 17 satoshi i heard the same when i was telling ppl noble is a very good coin. and i held all my coins.. then BOOM... 200 satoshi up from 16.

i also held my vericoin, summercoin. the only reason this coin may seem to be doing well is because some panic sellers are thickening the sell walls. but even in light of that.. its only 7 btc up to 5000 satoshi.

you can do what you want. but if people just get a few coins each and wait.. price will go up given time. we should actually be hitting a threshold soon where all the coins would have been sold to the market to investors. i never said put your whole ass on the coin. or any coin. but have some patience or lose out. if it goes cheaper.. i will buy more and someone would give away their coin.

you will see once again. we are working with noble and will be resurrecting it!! just watch!!

asics are still very profitable for now. so yes currently they are the most efficient way of gaining btc via mining. the major risk with purchasing asics is that if for some reason they become obsolete they unfortunately dont have any other application. "expensive toasters".

there's already a new company set to release terrahash scrypt asics in the next few months.. so we might top that 5TH sooner than you think. but if you look at how market cap works.. the reason why market cap will increase is because of the amount of new coins generated in relation to the price that it holds at in the balance between miners, dumpers and buyers. basically.. if a new coin has mined 100 coins so far.. and it's market cap is $100.. to raise the market cap to $150 all youd have to do is mine 50 more coins.. not even send them to the market or anything.. but have them register on the block chain. market cap can increase while value decreases.. but ideally we want to have both market cap rising from new coins being generated as well as investors moving up the value of each coin. we can achieve that by making sure we have demanded technolgies that attract investors as well as slowing down the amount of coins that can be generated per day.

the asics will always enjoy much larger profit margins and so the temptation to dump faster than market growth will also be much larger. effectively the asic gets to sell all of his coins before the gpu miners can. and all can mean mining out the whole block chain and keep the price suppressed below anyone elses willingness to sell. which is what i think we are seeing with noble.
Please provide me a source documenting TH/s sCrypt ASICs. I have not heard about this at all. A 1TH/s miner would be well over 3 times the magnitude greater than the Titans that KNC are scheduled to deliver during Q3. And their second batch that is slated for end of Q4 will most likely only be a ~25% hash improvement. With the geometries involved in making their Titan I can’t possibly see a sCrypt miner with 1TH/s power in the same form factor as a Titan even in the next three years. And if something like that comes out, that’ll solidify the place of sCrypt coins in the cryptocurrency world.

As for “larger profit margins” I agree and disagree. I agree that the luckiest few that get miners first will be able to enjoy significant profit parity; but as more and more people get ASICs, that parity dwindles substantially as ASIC becomes the norm. In the end, the ones who suffer are the GPU miners who refuse to get ASICs. And frankly, I’m not all too sorry for that; just like all businesses equipment and hardware has to change with each new iteration. I know some will argue for the hobbyists, but let's be honest, name me one other hobby that returns as much as coin mining for relatively little effort? People should feel lucky that they have been able to have such a handsomely rewarding hobby like this for this long. Anyhow, getting back on track. Security should be a trumping factor in the worthiness of a public ledger. As for what GPUs should move on to? The next algorithm basically. It’s a cycle that in my eyes will keep happening until there is once again too much saturation in algorithms. By then though, I don’t see 99% of the coins that exist today still being around.

The more and more I look at this, the more I see GPUs just being the gateway to determining what will be the next algorithm to secure. And maybe at the end of the road, GPUs can go back to doing what they were designed to do: rendering video and displays.

a small error on my part for not reading the report thoroughly but here it is

https://terrahash.com/product/terrahash-dx-large/

it seems the company's name and product is called the terrahash. these will run at 180gh meaning if someone bought 5 theyd be able to generate about $1000 a day from any coin in BTC. this is not good for the value of crypto. asics have a better place in pos coin multipools.. generating constant buy pressure on coins on the market and generating growth in value. which in turn attracts more investors. on the contrary.. i predict that the availability of higher and higher asic rates at cheaper and cheaper prices will only serve to absolutely rape the scrypt asic coins and their value will drop again violently as it did from .04btc/mh per 24hrs.. to now.. 0.001btc in the months from december to march. the coins will not be able to generate enough investment and mining profitability will fall across the board. the scrypt protocol can be considered compromised in my view because of this.

i imagine however, that a terrahash model will not be far out of view for this company considering their name.

EDIT: ok on closer inspection this is a standard bitcoin asic.. but there are these

http://www.cryptocoinsnews.com/news/kncminer-upgrades-titan-scrypt-asic-100-mhs-250-mhs-free-charge/2014/03/27

and this

https://www.mining-asics-technologies.com/product/excalibur-5-asic-scrypt-miner-250-mhs/

so 2 of these would be able to dump 1btc+ worth of coins per day. and more depending on profitability. realize i mixed up my Ghs and Mhs above there.. im a bit tired and it's late lol. but the same theology applies. scrypt coins are most vulnerable to asic farm attacks in the future which will make them the weakest coins on the market. their value can be suppressed for a long time.
871  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: NobleCoin[NOBL] - **NOBL/$USD@VoS**MARKETPLACE/BULLION**50 CHARITIES/MERCHANTS** on: June 12, 2014, 08:04:02 AM
yeah fpgas .. lol forgot to mention those.

well i dont know for sure.. but china tends to have stuff like that waaay cheaper than anywhere else. i remember prospero asics were offered at $300 for 100gh sha-256 out of china while other miner manufacturers were still selling at up to $3000usd for the very same hashrate at the time. they even sell standalone asic chips on their website.
I do agree, the SHA-256 chips sold for ridiculous prices when the Avalons cut their batch three around this time last year. There was also the whole Klondike chip thing, and the PCB board set. That on top of BFL and the immense amount of hashrate that came from the success of KNC (although there is the whole issue with their second batch Jupiters). But if you look at the SHA-256 mining scene, ASICs was one of the driving factors that pushed their caps from ~$350M to ~$3.25B (the original Avalons and initial BFLs), and then a second push from ~$1.5B to ~$14B (in line with the KNC Jupiters, wave 3 of BFLs, PCB Klondikes). Frankly, I expect the same type of trend as sCrypt ASICs are propagated more and more; the only difference is that it will not be to the same magnitude and at most a handful of coins will get to ride the upswing while the rest are crushed.

The funny thing is that as scary as it is right now with a conservative maximum total amount of hash put into sCrypt being around 750 GH/s, that should be just a fraction of what the first few waves of major ASICs will be pushing. If KNC and Fibonacci stick to their roadmap, we'll be looking at a possible 5+ TH/s in sCrypt.

That's not necessarily a comforting thought for the GPU scene, but it'll do a hell of a lot for network security for whichever coins stick as sCrypt. That and the residual

As a note, I apologize if I came off as brash or anything like that. I was just trying to be more direct than anything.

this is true.. asic manufactureres arent stupid. how else will they test the asics theyre developing? by mining on it before they even advertise it for sale. of course that will turn a profit.. and i imagine.. would be hard to turn off when you can build asics and rape all of crypto investment markets in a week. but way before them it is done by a kid in his bedroom with a soldering iron. alot of people dont know that there are already asics working with x11 and x13 algorithms.

Whoa, ASICs aren't made that way. Maybe a loosely efficient processing mod, sure.

If a "kid" really is designing ASICs in their "bedroom," he/she can easily be a multi-millionaire working on actual design projects not in the crypto-currency realm.

well isnt that it? they make it in their bedroom.. it might be a hackjob for a while but itll work.. and then once they gain enough investment capital they go mainstream with it and offer it on the market. im using kid loosely.. college student, asian tech teens etc. they can buy asic chips on the market and build the rest of the circuit etc. those kind of parts are much easier to get in china.
874  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: NobleCoin[NOBL] - **NOBL/$USD@VoS**MARKETPLACE/BULLION**50 CHARITIES/MERCHANTS** on: June 11, 2014, 03:49:28 PM
@ a3tje, this basivally also means groestl is easily made asic ready; every sha-3 candidate needed the possibility for asics according to nist.

I think that we should ask the question: NOT if any algo is easily implementable in ASIC, but:

How soon, for each specific algo, there will be a massive mining power available for rent?

For now we can rent: SHA-256 and Scrypt. I don't know about progress on x11/x13/keccak/groestl/scrypt-n/quark.

But I think the good algo should:
- not have any existing working asics (or, preferably, even fpgas) nor such devices even in plans
- be not very profitable at the moment and not very popular in the past (for example, Keccak can be a good algo, but because MaxCoin had its huge hype, there are probably, somewhere, many huge miners, also using botnets, server farms etc.) In general, massive hypes of PoW coins in the past usually were connected to someone having a "secret weapon", like earlier GPU implementation (not public), artificially ineffective public code, already programmed FPGA in the basement etc.

From the two above points I would say thay groestl OR groestl+another algo (multi-algo) would be the best candidate for PoW mining at the moment.

yes scrypt-n was compromised as well.. admitted by the developer of vertcoin himself.
875  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: NobleCoin[NOBL] - **NOBL/$USD@VoS**MARKETPLACE/BULLION**50 CHARITIES/MERCHANTS** on: June 11, 2014, 03:47:30 PM
Hmmm haven't been very active with Noble last weeks but wanted to reply to the accusations regarding 51% attacks and people trying to destroy Noble. I really and honestly do believe there is more scam in Crypto's than we might think.

I am seeing more and more signs of that there is a "group" of people playing with us (honest people) to make money. Think the best example would be the "unfair" release of ASIC miners, it is clear they have been existing for longer than we know. Meaning they were build / used before any of us knew about it and gave the "investors" the opportunity to mine coins really cheap and stack up. Right now it seems the same thing happened to X11 algo, it seems that they found a way to mine X11 with asics (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=540160.0).

Besides these kind of scams, it seems there is also a group of "scammers" constantly creating new coins that promise innovation / GUI / algo's and do not deliver. In short they create a new coin that promises much a instantly gets into 1 or 2 exchanges (how the @%@#$ can that be). I am not talking about shitcoins but about coins that really do have a decent website, whitepaper, release etc but stop as soon as things are really taking of. Why because all the "early" investors just get out of the coin and take our money (look what happened to all the populair coins from last month....). Yes we (the smaller hands) invest and get out as soon as the big drop starts but we are talking about 2K/3K of BTC per day, it's not the smaller hands that invest.

I have seen people post pictures of threat that came to their inbox when they were screaming "SCAM" and giving "proof" of the scam. First i did not think much of it but it seems like logical when you think about it. When you have gained large amounts of Bitcoins in the past, why not create a investment group that sort of controls the market to double / triple your money? When I would have more than 10K of coins I would contact other whales too and ask them if we could group up to protect our "investment".

Then there is the point of people asking for a richlist or saying "Anon" is soo important... Sorry but to my understanding, if I have 10K BTC and want to hide that from the world, I just open the BTC wallet 25 times and put around 400 (not exact amount to not look obvious) BTC in each wallet. As simple as that, impossible to trace, impossible to find out and also impossible to notice on the richlist!

People who are rich, did not become rich to give it away (look at how less BTC has been donated)! Good reallife example is Carlos Slim http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Carlos_Slim:
The Mexican magnate's growing fortune has caused controversy, because it has been amassed in a developing country where average per capita income does not surpass $14,500 a year, and nearly 17% of the population lives in poverty.[43] Critics claim that Slim is a monopolist, pointing to Telmex's control of 90% of the Mexican landline telephone market. Slim's wealth is the equivalent of roughly 5% of Mexico's annual economic output.[32] Telmex, of which 49.1% is owned by Slim and his family, charges among the highest usage fees in the world, according to the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development.[44] Smith, Geri (March 5, 2007). "Slim's Big Giveaway: As the government steps up its scrutiny, the billionaire is stepping up his philanthropy". BusinessWeek. Retrieved May 27, 2009.

the votes are in and people are against asics in alts...

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=641057.160

there are also more investors and gpu miners than asic owners and so you are a minority. asic usage will become obsolete due to abuse of crypto investment markets and you will own toasters in the future. i suggest you use some of your profits to sponsor the development of this particular project. it is the only one that will give u a safe haven for life.. whilst still allowing smaller hashrates to get their share.. together with a very secure blockchain.. your hash will be your investment.

my solution is 10-100x superior to the solution posted for minerals coin. and i really mean that literally. dont pass up this chance to develop the currency that crypto has been waiting for.

I personally think 50 mh/s is a BIT too low.. 100 mh/s seems fair. My home grown mining operation already has 40 mh/s or so on x11/x13

if its not an asic farm.. just partition your mining rigs with new accounts.
878  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][MIN] Minerals - X11 POW/POS Cryptocurrency for StarCraft fans. No premine. on: June 11, 2014, 06:44:36 AM
id say 50mh is fair both to gpu, farms and asics calculating based on power consumption and profit margins. the asics will still have the advantage as their profit margin will be 50:1 while farms can only hope for a maximum of 5:1. heck if u really want to limit asics id go with 10mh. that way gpu farms will also have to do a little work splitting up their network, asics wont be able to take 90% of market share.. and gpu coins will still enjoy at least a 1:1 mining roi.

either way as we can see.. user votes for an even lower hashlimit far outnumber asic voters. for all we know it could be just 10 ppl with asic farms that have raped all of crypto.
879  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][MIN] Minerals - X11 POW/POS Cryptocurrency for StarCraft fans. No premine. on: June 11, 2014, 03:53:08 AM
Big farms/ASICs?
Hashing power of each worker and IP will be limited to not more than 300MH (open for discussion) by limiting the number of shares that a worker can send to the pool per unit of time.

How do you achieve all of this?
The only way to avoid Miltipools, ASICs, big farms and third-party pools is by not providing the wallet and the source code until after the POW stage ends. The source code will be provided to exchanges which will be operational from the start. Moreover, to remove any doubt about the validity of the coin and it's source code third-party experts will be given the sorce code for validation and checks. The wallets might be provided before the end of the POW stage.

haha it's not the only way but im interested and happy to see this method tested in the wild. it was one of my earlier considerations which id since improved. you see limiting the hash will limit how secure your blocks can be and doesnt take full benefit from the asics but instead fends them off. however, this coins should still enjoy some success as the distribution method will create more fairness than what is currently available.

if anyone is wondering what the hell im talking about. i made a post here earlier requesting a dev for my project. it is a bit ways ahead in thinking than this method. with improvements that will take advantage of asic technology without cheating low hashrates out of a share. allowing the network to grow in security with growing hashpower technology.

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=611996.0

if there is any interest please dont be afraid to pop me a line.

EDIT: also 300mh will be too high. it will allow full 100-300mh asics running on 400watts power to still perform their pillage.

why is the chain moving so slow? +2hrs for one block? It says 30 seconds.

Seeing the same thing on the explorer.  Looks like it was fine until about 4hrs ago.  Does this happen if no wallets are open and staking?

moved my coins to the wallet to stake...well tried to move them and they disappeared.

mine took forever to move, they're not gone. they showed up in my balance only when trying to send for a while but they're there now. took a good long while though.

these are signs of dev working in the background. keep calm and wait for updates.
