861  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin Market is down. on: August 26, 2018, 01:43:56 PM
I believe we are in a good place right now.  I believe the bottom has already been touched and the next bull run should start soon.  The next halving isn't that far away so I expect the price to rise steadily until then. I know many new investors are sitting on massive losses right now but if they are just patient and hold they will eventually see a nice profit.
862  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Is taxation theft? on: August 26, 2018, 01:27:12 PM
No it's not theft it's a payment you make for the  privilege of living in a civilized society.

If you don't want to be taxed at all, then your free to move to the jungle where there are no taxmen, but also no roads, schools, firemen, police, hospitals, etc etc.

I'm not a communist, but I tell you what, if my house was on fire I would not want to have to check if I had paid my
subscription to the fire-brigade service before ringing them up and asking for their help to save my property from my
bad luck.

People who want to live in a society and contribute nothing towards it but still want to be helped by that society in all
the myriad ways that society helps its members out, are some sort of selfish scumbags IMHO.

I would be fine doing that, but every piece of land on this earth is "owned" by someone.  We are forced to live in modern society.  There is really no where else we can go.  Most have of us have zero say in the laws and policies, we just have to follow their orders or we get punished.  Beautiful system, isn't it....
863  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2019 NBA Pre-Season on: August 26, 2018, 01:18:34 PM
I don't think the Lakers can realistically compete against the Warriors. I think Lebron knows this, he went to Los Angeles for the endorsement deals and to do other hollywood appearances.

The Lakers have been lacking a true superstar since Kobe left so Lebron will help them generate hype, sell loads of merchandise, and sell out every game.
864  Economy / Economics / Re: how to save money? on: August 26, 2018, 01:11:56 PM
Saving money is a really important art. Any adult who must remain happy must master it. But too many people aren't paying attention these days. This is why we are becoming more and more a society of people in debts all the more. I think there are many methods of saving money. But the major focus should be on keeping your expenditure less than your income. Taking stock too is very very important. It will increase your awareness and help you stick to your budget. After saving sufficiently, investing wisely must follow.

The current system runs off debt, without debt the entire financial system would collapse.  There is much more debts than there is money to pay back all the debts. If all debts were magically paid off there would be a negative money supply.

I agree most people should be saving more and thinking ahead but with this current system we need a lot of consumers to go into debt for it to stay functioning.
865  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Re: Silvio Micali: Satoshi never imagined industrial-scale mining on: August 26, 2018, 01:06:23 PM
The 51% attack fear mongering by giant mining corporations is unfounded.  if this happened the miners would take a massive financial hit and bitcoin would crash.  It would make no sense to do it  the negatives far outweigh the positives.  The only way is if some mad man, similar to the joker, just wants to watch the world burn and doesn't care about the money.
866  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Is NANO (RaiBlocks) the best currency in crypto? on: August 26, 2018, 12:58:16 PM
There is no doubt that Nano has a platform featuring the most users wanted in a certain project, but to reign as the best currency in crypto, I think not this time, so far bitcoin and Eth are hard to beat.

there are so many different cryptos (over 1000) but the only two I see that are accepted at online stores are Bitcoin, Ethereum, and sometimes Bitcoin cash.

Nano seems to have good technology with the low fees and fast transactions, but the price is too volatile to be used as a currency right now.  Btc/ETh crashed a lot but Nano took a much larger dip, its down to $1 from a $20 high.  People are scared to use nano because it crashed 95% in price.
867  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Lost my BTC, any ideas? on: August 26, 2018, 12:49:33 PM
Your coins are most likely gone,, but there is a  chance the exchange will return the coins to you.  I've heard of many people sending bch to btc addresses to exchanges and not receiving a refund.  You have to be extremely careful when sending large crypto transactions.  Always double check what your doing and make sure the address is correct.

869  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Do these gambling sites make good money? on: August 25, 2018, 02:26:18 PM
These casinos deserve to make a good amount of money, they are providing a enjoyable experience to their players.  A lot of work goes into creating an online casino that often goes unappreciated, just the customer support alone is a lot to deal with.  Casinos also have to undergo a large risk when they are first starting out, it takes awhile to become profitable.
870  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Martingale and Roulette on: August 25, 2018, 02:16:14 PM
I think I had tried martingale just for fun once with tiny amounts of money. It just plain doesn't work unless you have an infinite amount of money.

Most of the casinos will have a maximum bet limit so even though you have an infinite amount, not sure you will win in the long run. Once you lose few times in a row that maximum bet than not sure how long you may need to roll to get back that money. So this method is only good for fun not to make money.

A billionaire could easily bankrupt a casino if there wasn't a maximum bet.  It's nearly impossible to lose 40+ bets in a row so the martingale strategy is sound in theory but the casino limits make it not plausible.

The only casino game I know of that ever had odds over 50% was when card counters used to play blackjack, this has been pretty much dead since casinos added multiple deck shoes.
871  Economy / Economics / Re: How to save money on a long-term period on: August 25, 2018, 02:01:25 PM
Saving is hard especially for those who are living paycheck to paycheck.
But, if you have the chance to save, in my opinion, you should put money into tangible ones such as property (real estate), businesses, precious metals (jewelry) and others, in which, their value increase thru time.
The OP already discussed so much advantages of those investments.
And it's up to your current situation where and how you will invest your money.
If you are not that well off, just live below your means. Even if you have small salary compared to others, you can still save something for yourself.

The people I know that claim to live "paycheck to paycheck" are usually the ones that buy unnecessary items, brand name clothing, overpriced cars, etc.

Most people just consume mindlessly, it's the culture we have built.  It's really not that difficult to slowly save up and accumulate wealth but most people don't have the patience and they want the instant gratification that consuming provides.
872  Other / Politics & Society / Re: USA Verses Russia-Military power on: August 25, 2018, 01:52:46 PM
Russia + China hold all the gold, the US holds $21 trillion in debt.

They can just destroy the US financially without firing a shot.

Russia debt to GDP : 20.02%
Russia dept per citizen : $1378
Russia interest per second : $406

US debt to GDP : 107.41%
Us debt per citizen :  $64632 ($174322 per tax payer)
US interest per second : $5382

All the money in the world doesn't matter if you have a stronger military.  No nation would financially threaten the United States because of how powerful their military is.  This is the reason the USD is still considered the global currency.  Look at the spending budgets on military for nations across the globe.  USA far outspends everyone and has the most advanced technology.
873  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Question about tokens' viability on: August 25, 2018, 01:43:31 PM
I think the majority of tokens will die out.  In the past year many of these new projects had no business being on a blockchain, they were only here because of the hype.  Most of these projects don't need to be decentralized, a normal database works fine for these new ICOs.
874  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Starting amount on: August 25, 2018, 01:34:38 PM
I would start with only a small amount of money until you do a lot of research and learn everything you can about blockchain.  A lot of people here will promise you Lambos and diamonds but this market is extremely risky and volatile.
875  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: It’s getting hard to pump and dump Bitcoin on: August 25, 2018, 01:26:10 PM
I'm not sure if tether is really backed by the same amount of USD.  I'm still on the fence about using it considering it can collapse at any time and in their terms of service they are not required to trade you back USD in exchange for tether.

Once bitcoin becomes more widely adopted the price will stabilize and it will be much more difficult to manipulate.
876  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Mining before and after on: August 24, 2018, 09:22:19 PM
I would stay away from mining at this point.  You need a large amount of capital if you even want to be competitive and it's not even worth it unless you have super cheap electricity.  There are many government linked mines that basically have free electricity so those are the guys you will have to compete with.  Difficuluty is continually rising while prices remain stagnant.
877  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Online casinos community : Is this important for you? on: August 24, 2018, 09:06:10 PM
Fast customer support and a large playerbase is what keeps me playing at an online casino.  I want to stick with a trusted casino that many players use.  Some casinos have abysmal customer support while others are very quick and can help you with any problem.  I don't really go to real life casinos anymore, I do everything online so this criteria is very important to me.
878  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Logan Paul VS KSI - Where to place bet? on: August 24, 2018, 08:58:27 PM
Is the boxing match a joke?  I don't think I would want to place a bet on a non professional match that is likely to be rigged.  I don't follow youtubers that little kids watch, but I keep hearing about this boxing match everywhere.  I guess this is what people find entertaining now.....
879  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Have you ever exchanged BTC face to face? on: August 24, 2018, 08:52:45 PM
I've never exchanged Bitcoin face to face.  I don't know many people in my real life circle that even hold any cryptocurrency.  Plus there is always a very real danger when transacting cryptocurrency in a face to face deal.  I would maybe do it in the future but only with small amounts and in a very public place such as a library.
880  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: It can still happen again on: August 24, 2018, 08:47:25 PM
It's funny how fast everyone's attitude has changed towards crypto.  Last year everyone was super optimistic but now I keep reading nothing but fear and uncertainty.

Let me give you all some golden advice.  The best time to buy is when everyone is panic selling , this is how the  whales get richer and the newbies lose their money.
