Why there are only six instead of eight digits after the decimal point in our wallet?

-----------------------------------------
websitetrafficdelivery[dot]tk - HBN/DOGE accepted

It was just the way it was originally coded from PPC.  Since the min send/fee is .001. That is lowest that can be sent.
862  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: HoboNickels - HBN - Fast High Reward PoS - Advanced Wallet - Fun Community. V1.4 on: July 11, 2014, 11:46:53 PM
HBN is such a good pitch to your local pizza place or any local merchant. If you are friends/acquiantances with anyone like that, talk to them about BTC/HBN in tandem. I think if they realized they did $500 in business with Hobonickel, which is a small amount and not necessarily something a business person would need to cash out immediately, then they could actually be doubling their money in the long run. And with HBN, they can sell after 90 days, lets say, and make 2% 9 times before getting USD. If you could get 100 honest listeners of the local business persuasion to a conversation about BTC and HBN, i bet you could get more HBN accepters than BTC accepters.

Once a few hundred small town businesses are accepting Hobonickel, then we are in business, imo. Starbucks and Mcdonalds hasnt even happened for bitcoin yet, its way in teh future for us. Getting a local person to accept it could happen tomorrow.

This is a great idea. I do pay bounties for new merchants. If that merchant is a charity or has a real world business that will accept HBN, that bounty will be more.

The only issue will be getting a mobile app for HBN. I think this will be my future focus after v1.5 is complete.
863  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: HoboNickels - HBN - Fast High Reward PoS - Advanced Wallet - Fun Community. V1.4 on: July 11, 2014, 01:32:42 AM
Wow HBN is sure took a beating this month.  Beating might not be the right word...decimation perhaps?  It's a shame because the coin itself, and especially the wallet, are great.

I'm beginning to think maybe the PoS rewards might be too high though. Anyone else?  I think it is so high that it will just inflate the coin lower and lower, unless a) bitcoin usd/btc price nose dives  or b) a huge expansion of the number of places you can spend HBN on products happens.

PoS rewards cost next to 0 energy to make, so basically, users get 'free coins' after investing. Because there is no cost (in power ) to produce the coins though, and nowhere (hardly) to spend them on any products, the only real option is to trade HBN for BTC. So there is a huge downward pressure on the price, that so far, has only been avoided by newcomers & investors coming to the coin to buy initial staking amounts. But in real basic terms there is more pressure to sell then there are buyers. I'm pro HBN and pro PoS but do now think if the PoS rate of return is too high, it will be detrimental to the price, not beneficial. I think half the rate PoS from what HBN has would be better.

I'm rooting for this coin and holding lots still, but sure is tough for [any] alts when there are now over 250 (or whatever, didn't check) coins out there. Maybe a team member whose role is just promoting HBN could have a big impact... I always think of Doge: the coin itself was nothing special at all, one of a hundred, but it took off with such great advertising and community growth.

Whatever the case may be, good job Tranz, the wallet is awesome.

Every coin I hold has taken a beating since 1st July. I think we're seeing profit taking more than anything fundamental to the coin.

That being said, you are right and then some about one thing, and it's not just this coin. There is not enough merchant support. I think that is the next thing that MUST be addressed by the crypto community. BTC you can buy shit with, so all coins end up being BTC sooner or later. Not the proper situation if you are doing something more than a fun experiment. HBN is a very well devleloped coin, with active support by it's dev team and a good many outsiders. It, and a few others, need to be pushed into the real world as transactional instruments. I actually think the high staking could end up being a huge asset for that very purpose, as merchants who accept payment in a high staking PoS coin are likely able to profit beyond just the sale, and in turn can offer discounts because of it.

If HBN were accepted at, say, Starbucks, do you think there would be a constant selloff? Or would buy pressure rise? I know which way I think it would go Cheesy

Having merchants that want to KEEP a coin is what can make it appreciate in value. If they simply accept them and then dump them for btc/usd the value stays the same, or perhaps even decreases.

But getting a coin accepted a major retailer would help quite a bit!

Version 1.5 is now being started. Please see this thread at CCT for updates as they happen. I expect a few months dev, q/a time, and relased in Q3 '14

If you have any comments feel free to post here or in the offical 1.5 thread.

Thanks!

Minor bug that you could perhaps work into 1.5?

Time stamp in transaction list and in coin control do not match (coin control is 1 hour behind)

Its actually the difference between your timezone and gmt time. Coin control is gmt and the transaction list is your time zone. There are similar discrepancies in the debug log file as well. But yes I will look into this more.

Thanks!

my last withdrawal from cryptsy wont be confirmed.
i can se it in my local wallet, but it stays unconfirmed.
any idea whats up?
wallet is synced and running

Do you match the block explorer? http://cap.cryptocoinexplorer.com/

What is the transaction id?
6a61ac5ae1d6f0f081d559622523dff5106e63c9ad465b4f3ac49e9b5748ab54
its not my first withdrawal, all others went good.
maybe the error is on cryptsys end?

Perhaps try a restart with -rescan and see, if that helps. I don't see that transaction ID in the explorer. They may need to resend.

What next? Thanks.

You should try it on the other wallet.   You sent coins right after a big re-org. So Cryptsy may need to resend them. If you get no where with them, please PM me I will try to reimburse you.

I don't think PoS rate is too high. Especially if we look at the post Unick made a while back. We are only slightly ahead of, in terms of money supply, where we would be if this was a PoW only coin.

At block 1 million we would be at 5 million coins if we only had PoW. But we hit about 5.125 million with the extra reward for PoS.  Also remember this % will begin to decrease in the future.  Which will continue to crowd out PoW and therefore lower inflation, potentially even below PoW only rate.

Not having many merchants, is somewhat of an issue.  It would be nice to get more on board.  I will be working toward this, but only in so much as certain charities.

We should also remember where we started from, and where we have gotten.  The price has moved from 1/10 of a penny to as high as 25 cents. The number of users on the network has gone up at least 2 magnitudes, as well.

A high price is very nice. But for me, it is not the most important aspect.  If together we can create a nice stable network, which can at some level help others, and continue to push cryptos, bitcoin included, forward in a positive light. Then in my book mission accomplished.

Yep. Confirming v2.1 works for me.  Thanks for all your work on this Tranz.  I see a lot of improvements since v1.52.

The only issue I'd like to report is a highlighted message at the top of the Overview page stating that "Info: Minting suspended due to locked wallet" when in fact the wallet is unlocked and staking.

Thanks I actually meant to remove that, as we now have the staking icon.

Removed this message.

this just happened like 2 hours ago my time- nvc?

this is just an old reference in the debug outputs.

you should indeed read cap there

Meaning this is just a display overlook in the debug section? Or is it a client wide internal overlook (meaning i thought that the debug section was just that a debug of the whole client and more)?

Just 2 lines of code.

And now it is updated!  Cheesy

@Tranz: Anything new in store for HoboNickels?

We should have an Active  HBN irc channel with tip bots. lets get going guys.

Actually the fork for CAPs just completed, and so far so good. (Knock Knock). So here soon I will continue further development for HBN version 1.5.

I have a few things planned, but I would love to hear from the community on what you guys would like to see..

An original idea added to the wallet graphics might work wonders.

Anything specific you had in mind or just a fresh gui?

A GUI which gets further away from the look of the generic cryptocurrency wallet. Custom coloring and design , friendly and easy aesthetics, maybe an option to incorporate a name screen ( 'Welcome back Tranz' etc, and avatar). I know this will take a bit of design skill, but it will be a strong driver in:

A. Distinguishing HBN from other coins.

B. Encouraging adoption and network support. The right GUI can persuade users to open the wallet more frequently and say to their friends 'Hey, look at this'

For all my strengths graphic design is not really among them, although I haven't given it a lot of time to develop.  So I might need some help from the community on this aspect.
873  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: HoboNickels - HBN - Fast High Reward PoS - Advanced Wallet - Fun Community. V1.4 on: July 07, 2014, 12:48:31 AM
^ yeah after the manic bubble UP and the usual worries & FUD on the return slope I think somewhere between here and 20k should be about normal
I was surprised to see HBN fall through 10k sats but then the recent recovery (post CAP fork) as interest swings and people see cheap coin on the books.

Also another thought on update.

Would it be possible? - not sure about sensible and open to abuse -

To allow a text field allowing free text to be added to the blockchain when you POS a block.

I'm thinking in terms of the future charity activities and community info to be immortalised such as
"The red cross adopts HBN today" and
"$x donated by HBN users to xxx"
Major funding activities and disaster funds could be highlighted in the client as well a s a future "This day in Hobo History" field sourced and serviced by this free text function...

Also giving particular addresses functionality as in a certified charity address/wallet could should be able to do things a standard wallet/address can't

So I have considered adding messaging to the client and block chain. I do like your ideas. So I might begin to consider it more seriously. The only thing that is really holding me back is I am not sure if this type of thing would really bloat the block chain, it may also require a hard fork, so I would have to keep both of those in mind before we moved down that road.

The S4C will make it fully into the gui, and may also have some charities of choice hard coded as well.

Great ideas, keep them coming.

I haven't staked yet either despite having held coins forever now.

db.log has this
Code:
Lock table is out of available lock entries

and debug.log has this:
Code:
  ERROR: mempool transaction missing input
  ERROR: mempool transaction missing input
  ERROR: mempool transaction missing input

  ERROR: mempool transaction missing input

  SetBestChain: new best=0ac317b1ecb264b379c1  height=527925  trust=2145786651908  date=  rocessBlock: ACCEPTED

for the db lock try this
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=241445.msg7362114#msg7362114

for mempool error, restart the client. we had a big rollback on the 4th and your client still holds old transactions in memory.

my client has been restarted multiple times after the 4th and i am using latest 2.1 client and still have those mempool errors as well as these errors : ERROR: CTxMemPool::accept() : ConnectInputs failed 4e61361746
ERROR: FetchInputs() : 60f3a93cdc mempool Tx prev not found c03c31f9d8
stored orphan tx 60f3a93cdc (mapsz 2).

so restarting client does not fix this issue at all.

If a restart doesn't help the mempool erros. You can try to restart the client with -rescan.

You can also try -salvagewallet, this is much more aggressive so please be sure you have a wallet backup and your addressed exported before attempting it.

The other errors regarding FetchInputs, are more normal errors. I get them on all clients, but they do seem to be more prevalent right now with CAPs. As more people get on the right chain and get their clients cleaned up, they should begin to diminish.

Hi guys. I looked at the code a bit more and Unick was right on. Old blocks would still need to age 30 days. Newer blocks would begin staking at 15 days.  The discrepancy is with the getweightfromvalue function. It assumes after the fork all blocks that are 15 days min age. But the function that actually allows stakes, would only allow coins that were sent pre fork to start at 30 days. Coins sent to wallet, or staked after the fork should begin to get min age at 15 days.

I will keep a close eye on this to make sure.

Thanks everyone..

Can't see anything wrong, or is there?
I renamed the exe to get windows firewall to go back through the unblock dialogue again
re-downloaded the blockchain with the 2.1 version
copied the lot onto a win7 laptop - no joy
all test machines have one or more active qts either receiving coin or stake or both for various coins
vista win7 and 8.1

*Edit* also no tried exporting the private key into a new wallet and doing a rescan ... same situation
and looking at my address in the explorer there seems to be 0.000391 Cap unexplained in the balance Huh

Well you have done everything that I would have tried.  You can try using the following start up switches. This will cause the debug.log to grow quickly but could pinpoint the issue.  -debug -printcreation -printcoinstake -printcoinage

Otherwise at this point I would need to run specific debug statements using your wallet or the key.  But just looking at my wallet, my friends wallet and the block explorer, all staking is working as far as I can tell. So I can't figure out what would be preventing your coins from staking.

mine has been saying staking 50% chance within 1 hour for over 12 hours now.

I am on 2.1 do i need to redownload the blockchain to be on the right fork.

My apologize if i missed something.
As I understand
If you are on 2.1 and your block count agrees with http://cap.cryptocoinexplorer.com/
it's just a matter of waiting for the post fork dust to settle.
We seem to be steadily getting closer to 200% annual POS from 170ish yesterday.

Correct. I assume you got your stakes going good then FlungSpun..
Actually, no!
but I achieving enlightenment via patient application of zazen - calm body and mind

I'll post when a block stakes or my calm cracks Cheesy

If you have that must weight, it should stake right away.  Only the wrong version(2.0(double check getinfo)) or a locked wallet would cause the coins not to stake.  All of my 10k blocks, downloaded early May, staked right away. I even just got a block on my 7 coin set.

Keep an eye on the debug.log, it might have some clues if something is amiss.

HBN has grown a lot since the good old days. I am happy that it is finally a time where I feel comfortable buying at the exchange rate. Shocked

True that.  I still remember a time when I was close to the only person on the order book. The price holding at a nickel is great IMO.
879  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: HoboNickels - HBN - Fast High Reward PoS - Advanced Wallet - Fun Community. V1.4 on: July 05, 2014, 12:34:59 PM
I love seeing weight in coin control. This is my first POS coin and all others after haven't had that ability.

I would like to see all of the stats that show up when you hover over the green icon always be shown on the front stats area. Plenty of room

What do you mean "font stats area"? Do you mean when you click the green icon?

Think he means the Overview tab. That would be nice, to see time since last block - last block number and staking weight / projected time etc at a glance.
Cosmetic but effective unless it adversely impacts cpu load or something.

bearing in mind the message ou put on the CAP thread yesterday when the CAP checkpointing server went on the fritz.
Is there a way of trafficlighting the network status on the client and pushing messages out directly to wallets?

such as "please watch your sends and receives" OR "No cryptsy deposits" and possibly a link to a relevant forum post  or twitter

People will tend to have the wallet open 24/7 but not be reading here or http://www.hobonickels.info/

I can send alerts to both clients. But I try to save those for emergencies. If we did roll back a 2nd time yesterday that would have happened. But it was caught and corrected before that.

But I do get what you are saying. I will keep it in mind for 1.5.

Thanks!
