861  Economy / Speculation / Re: Will bitcoin go under 2000 dollars until august 1? on: July 28, 2017, 01:06:47 AM
There are possibilities that bitcoin may fall in that day but i don't see that bitcoin will be fall under 2000 dollars seems bitcoin is unstable bitcoin already reach the price of 2,800 plus there are possibilities that bitcoin maybe fall over 800$ and it will be that price but there are trading and exchagne website where they can sell their coins and wait for the price to be down again and buy to make a large profit because of this.

Did you looked at the date of Op posted this? He asked whether bitcoin could fall below $2000 until August 1st, not on August 1st.
And the answer is yes, as bitcoin price has declined to $1800 on July 16th, the lowest price on this month and I doubt it could be lower than $1800 again due to hard fork issue or BCC UAHF which is an altcoin.
Bitcoin price has recovered to $2700-$2800 and there are 3 days before deadline, no chance to fall below $2300 I guess.
862  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: Are bitcoin casinos still popular? on: July 28, 2017, 12:06:39 AM
It's been a while since the last time I got into gambling section, but lately it seems rare to find gambling signature and there are some left such as bitdice and bitsler which always show up everywhere and the rest maybe keep playing on gambling threads.
But, I'm sure there are some people who enjoys gambling and do it regularly, especially for sports betting and poker game.
So, you have to offers something unique and fresh for your gambling project in order to attract more people.
863  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2017-07-27]Mt.Gox Hack + BTC-e: The Biggest Money Laundering Scheme in Bitcoin on: July 27, 2017, 11:42:38 PM
The collapse of BTC-e, one of the oldest and well known exchanges, teaches all the community another lesson: trust is a ticking time bomb that's why you shouldn't store bitcoin in exchanges for a long time instead just use it to sell and buy bitcoin, then withdraw immediately. Fortunately, this event doesn't affect bitcoin price and I just saw the price, it is increasing again. So, I am wondering whether their customers could get what they've deposited or withdraw bitcoin from btc-e?
864  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Another Good Reason to Own Some BTC on: July 27, 2017, 12:23:01 PM
...

If you are traveling and lose your credit card, but in a country that has a reasonably active Bitcoin scene, you can sell some BTC to pay bills while "over there".

This may become an issue for us.

Here is a case for having an online wallet, "travels anywhere".

In that case, we need more new adopters and maybe some stores owners will join into the community as well.
There are some countries which have bitcoin exchanges and people could easily convert their bitcoin into fiat currency used banks account. But for foreigners, you have to visit exchanges office or some places where they accept buy and sell bitcoin, another point is bitcoin ATM to get some cash.
865  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: How do you Panic? on: July 27, 2017, 07:01:54 AM
There are some difference between trading altcoins and trading bitcoin, daily traders must know about this.
Trading is a gambling in my opinion, whether you make profits or loss.
But in bitcoin environment, there's no loss after I invest on it because the value of bitcoin keep increasing over time.
All I have to do is looking for the dip to buy and hold it for long term.
On the other hand, altcoins prices could change instantly depends on the market, so do not buy random coins but choose some famous altcoins, to check the prices look at coinmarketcap.
866  Economy / Economics / Re: What must happen so that cryptocurrencies are less volatile? on: July 27, 2017, 01:50:29 AM
What would it take?

Does the volatility settle if certain amount of merchants accept payments in crypto? Or should there be more people that would get paid in crypto? OR should there be a cryptoeconomy where people and businesses get income in crypto and spent the crypto?

Furthermore, could the volatility be even solved? I mean of more and more people are getting into Bitcoin, when would such demand cycle cool down?

I would like to know the economics behind it.
There have been many such threads. But let me answer it again. Practically if we look at marketcap of Bitcoin, it will take many years to reach a state of less volatility.
Bitcoin has a $42B market cap. This is nothing. Until this market cap grows into the trillions I don’t think Bitcoin will be stable enough. There just isn’t enough liquidity. When the Bitcoin is distributed in large population. It will tend to be stable. Market wouldn't be driven excessively by a single investor holding millions of Bitcoin.

Marketcap even just give a little CONTRIBUTION to bitcoin volatile, because :
- marketcap = price * amount in circulation.
- imagine someone who has huge amount of bitcoin such as BTC500,000 orBTC1 Million, he could still manipulate the price.
I think it's better if bitcoin amount is spread widely instead of just one man holding huge amount of bitcoin.
Then, it refers to bitcoin usability, when more merchants accept bitcoin payment and it has spread widely, then the volatility of bitcoin could be reduced.
867  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: After 1 Aug split can I trade BTC and BCC? Should I withdraw all bitcoins? on: July 26, 2017, 11:16:09 PM
I'm pretty new to the cryptocurrency world and what I have seen in the past days, everybody is talking about BIP 149, SegWit2x and other terms that I really don't understand. As far I can understand that bitcoin will split into 2 separate currencies: BTC (Legacy old) and BCC (Bitcoin Cash or Bitcoin ABC -it's the same, right?-) after 1 August UTC 12:00 am. People say that I should withdraw all my coins into my Electrum Wallet before 1 Aug. That's what have I done.

After the split, everything will be cloned and people will have both BTC and BCC. If you had 1 BTC, after the split you will have 1 BCC as well. So... what to do after that? Will ever BTC exists? Will people have the possibility to trade with BTC and with BCC as well? If these are 2 different currencies, that means if I make a transaction with BCC (send) then it will be transfered in BTC as well? Will the 2 currencies "synchronize" with each other? (I don't know if you can understand what I'm trying to say).

- Bitcoin price has dropped. Should I invest more FIAT into it before 1 Aug?

You were doing so well, if you want some suggestions, here;
1. withdraw all your coins into electrum wallet, mean you can get BCC after UAHF and consider it as a free money, if you can sell it.
2. If you can't, just cash out your bitcoin and buy back when bitcoin clone launched on August, we expect for a little drop of the price.
3. If you don't want to take the risk, then just let it safe in electrum wallet and make sure to export the private keys.
868  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin is now dropping again on: July 25, 2017, 11:49:18 PM
I see it the same as you think, people just aware of bitcoin cash that may affect bitcoin price if hard fork happen on August 1st, but the decrease not so significant so far and bitcoin still hold on $2556, I guess it may drop even further on August if bad news about hard fork influence people. But it is not a big deal to cause bitcoin fall hard, maybe $2250 is the lowest price when BCC launched.
869  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: ViaBTC releases BCC (Bitcoin Cash) trading on: July 25, 2017, 11:06:58 PM
BCC shitcoin will get dumped hard. I'll take the free money though  Wink

Agree, people will sell immediately if they get free money from bitcoin branch which named bitcoin cash or maybe they should named it 'bitcoin crash currency'. But I doubt more exchanges will list this coin if they feel it maybe inflict a financial loss, and so far just viabtc announced support BCC. Digital currency price will be determined by its usability, none of altcoins could compare or compete with bitcoin, altcoins will always become trading object including BCC.
870  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Buy now... or on July 31st? on: July 25, 2017, 10:16:29 PM
There are some rumors about chain split and on August 1st such as BitcoinABC which forks off to create a new chain and network with a currency named bitcoin cash (BCC). Its price is $396 on ViaBTC futures right now and the market cap nearly $10 billion, they stated everyone who has private keys will be receive BCC on August 1st as well, not bad at all I guess. But, this uncertain news may cause a little drop of bitcoin price, so I would suggest to wait for the biggest dip on August to buy bitcoin.
871  Economy / Economics / Re: Bitcoin in Economics class? on: July 25, 2017, 01:49:27 PM
I don't have any idea if they do talk about Bitcoin or not but yes, there are some seminars conducted by the Institute of Charted Accountants India (Public Accountants) and they discuss it. Even though I wanted but couldn't attend this seminar, I am sure there must be some productive discussion happened in such seminar.

(old one) * Seminar on From Barter to Bitcoin.

I think it's far early to include Bitcoin in regular study syllabus for Economic but they should do it for IT syllabus.

Bitcoin and blockchain technology are good things to learn about for everyone who care about currency or world economics development, especially in economics class. I've heard some of my friends learn about bitcoin but just as online currency, not even enough I thought.
And there are several colleges which added Blockchain technology as a part of their curriculum such as University of Nicosia and European School of Management and Technology (ESMT), where students could pay for tuition using bitcoin as well.

872  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: IT is WAR. Split again. BTC will crash on: July 25, 2017, 11:57:34 AM
IT is WAR. Split again. BTC will crash

I think it will definitely split again. it will split two coin that will declare war on 1 August.

who will win after 1 August?

http://www.trustnodes.com/2017/07/24/bitcoins-biggest-mining-pool-may-support-bitcoin-cash

Should we invest BCC?

What interesting is bitcoin and bcc are two different coins, as there only 1 bitcoin which mean BCC is another altcoin.
"Is Bitcoin Cash different from ‘Bitcoin’?
Yes. Bitcoin Cash is the continuation of the Bitcoin project as peer-to-peer digital cash. It is a fork of the Bitcoin blockchain ledger, with upgraded consensus rules that allow it to grow and scale."

There are too many altcoins stated as peer-to-peer digital cash but none of those coins could surpass bitcoin.
People like and love bitcoin, it's always be the number one, first digital currency. Bitcoin will win the war such as happened before against bitcoin unlimited.

874  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Find and Submit Hash rate of your Graphics card on: July 24, 2017, 11:59:14 PM
Well, I've checked your site and found graphics card "Algorithm" > ethereum, ethereum, ethereum, Scrypt-Chacha, equihash, ethereum, ethereum, and much more ethereum. Where the hash for bitcoin? I'm not an expert in this field obviously. But, I would like to see more about bitcoin hashrate. It is a good site though there are some things to be add, hopefully you can get more information about bitcoin GPU.
875  Economy / Speculation / Re: Will Bitcoin Reach $3,000 Next Week? on: July 24, 2017, 11:33:31 PM
I'm not sure about $3000 without any bigger news than uncertain chain split mention about bitcoin usability such as a country legalized bitcoin which could influence people to buy more bitcoin. Current price still persists at $2750 and barely not move to break $2800 point. I guess, people still waiting for August 1st and segwit2x consensus, whether miners will support segwit or segwit2x, but it will be segwit and I hope hard fork won't happen in order to increase blocksize. After all these matters are clear, then bitcoin price should rise again.
876  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: BTC grow or less on: July 24, 2017, 09:40:39 AM
If you want to trade bitcoin, then wait for another dips, because bitcoin price could decline in the next week or two weeks later due to uncertain future of chain split, if that what you are looking for. But, everything will be okay after all those blocks problem  - miners signaling on bit 1 or bit 4 and so on, come to the end on November if I don't misunderstand about it.
But, nothing for sure as we can see current price keep stable over $2700, won't go up but maybe drop back again, just wait and watch over the price.
877  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Negative People Eating Their Own Words on: July 24, 2017, 04:00:48 AM
Basically, there are two type of people here in the Bitcoin community. One, there are people who have a strong faith in Bitcoin and is really supporting the cryptocurrency and two are people who are always negative about Bitcoin despite its historic rise and proven resiliency. Of course, there can be people in between maybe a little bit positive and negative at the same time just content on watching what can happen on Bitcoin.

I'd argue that the people "who are always negative about Bitcoin" aren't a part of our community.

To be a part of the community you have to support Bitcoin the project before Bitcoin the investment. And anyone who is always negative is clearly a critic. They don't want to be part of the community, they want to find fault in it.

Ignore the noise and keep hodling on for dear life!

Or they are who want to make people doubt about bitcoin price, when some bad news occurs, people tend to sell bitcoin as they have weak hand or just panic when its price fall down. Traders and investors do that obviously, if they can't get cheaper price then easy profits won't generated.
878  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Bittrex disabled bitcoin deposit on: July 24, 2017, 02:57:27 AM
I just happened to Deposit amount of 3 BTC to my bittrex address and when i log in to the bittrex after 7 confirmation on blockchain to trade and i find that wallet is disabled for bip91.
So will i be able to recover funds or they are gone?

https://support.bittrex.com/hc/en-us/articles/115000761392
Your funds supposed to be safe, it won't lost I think as you have txid and bittrex could process or refund your bitcoin.
I'm wondering, since it has been over 10 hours, where is it? Have they refunded bitcoin to your wallet or what?
Bittrex stated : Bittrex will close deposits and withdrawals of Bitcoin (including 2nd layer protocol XCP/OMNI and associated assets) 4 hours prior to the BIP 91 activation block 477,120 anticipated to be at July 23, 12am PST (7am UTC).
The wallet will remain closed until the majority hash power chain is clearly established. Trading will remain active during this time. In the event of a chain split, Bittrex will take all reasonable steps to ensure that customer funds can be preserved on both chains.

I guess you have to wait until they stated are clear regarding BIP91 blocks.
However, I don't trust this site because too many accusations against them and not resolved yet, just like my account could got hacked or whatever due to I can't login anymore (my password and email are fine and secure) and I saw in this forum that other users funds just disappeared. Nonetheless, you can decide whether to trust them or not.

Edit : I'm glad your bitcoins are safe right now. Cheesy, and you should lock this thread as well.
879  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Re: If Segwit2x gains 90% support before Aug 1st, will BIP148 still go live? on: July 24, 2017, 12:40:27 AM
Thank you for your answers, Cheesy
Could you mention some reliable-trusted sites where I can learn about segwit or segwit2x activation sequence?
Because I notice there are several proposals about bitcoin scale such as bitcoin ABC or bcc or whatever it is. Just consider it as some useless proposals but I would like to learn how it could affect current events, whether it could be or not.
And, I would like to know about your best predictions regards bitcoin scale solution; whether segwit or segwit2x could be activated with or without hard fork or what/how? Just prediction, thanks.
880  Economy / Economics / Re: When to buy and sell bitcoin on: July 23, 2017, 11:58:33 PM
According to current events, I guess bitcoin price will drop back a bit when bip148 activated and there are some bad news regarding chain split, even though I am sure it's not gonna happen, miners keep signaling for BIP91 and bip148 is pointless at the moment.
But, who knows what will be happen on August, whether miners will support bip148 or not.
My concern is; as long as segwit could be implemented, then bitcoin price should increase again.
