8721  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Tokens (Altcoins) / Re: ANN Farts Airdrop Waves Token only 100 spots! on: October 11, 2017, 08:44:47 AM
Well, at least someone here is serious about making a joke alt token without all the fuss and make up to make it look like no other than what is truly is. I have dropped my WAVES address into PM to OP. Let us see if time will take farts out of planet earth and into space, and beyond. Who knows? Instant riches await. Time to make farts great again, right?
8722  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Welcome to VIBE - Already 5x ICO Price on: October 11, 2017, 07:31:41 AM
Great to see a project and token involved with one of the most relevant online industries. I do feel that the price valuation has hit a bit too high too early, but that is probably just due to the good hype surrounding all the recent updates and big names tied to the industry. HitBTC listing and Sunday's web platform launch will propel it even higher for the short term. Wait til all this alt volatility is over before buying in more.
8723  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: The DEX (Decentralized Exchange) Thread on: October 11, 2017, 06:49:41 AM
There are some new DEX projects in town which will go live next yr, really look forward to it. E.g., Kyber, 0x, Omega One, etc.

Etherdelta seems working well at the moment. Hopefully OP will find some time to update this later. :p

Yeah, I have already experienced Waves and Counterparty,,, have to say that Waves is super easy to use and XCP not really but both have the same initial issue that there are very few trades available. I think even some poor exchanges have more activity going on. I would say not to forget NVO dex, I think it is coming out in November or December.
8724  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] ✅ Xios PoS/PoW No ICO/No airdrop/No Premine/ ⚡ Masternode Ready 🔥Scrypt🔥 on: October 10, 2017, 07:20:55 PM
Here we go guys! 1333 XIOS reward ended. Cheesy
Price is 40x now. Grin

 Grin   Grin

XIOS is going to be huge! It's a shame, mass asics got involved very early to push poor miners like me, but still, i believe in this coin.

Once the master-nodes becomes active, then watch the price spike up like a teenager having a boner!  Grin

We need to start a campaign to get others involved in this project and grow the community.

Masternodes will have a limited impact in the long term, especially when it seems to already be price in right now. The novelty has gone, and the security benefits ahead of the expected risks. All the same, it cannot hurt prospects of such a young altcoin.

But oh, if only more alts would learn to be more ASIC resistant from the beginning, or it will just be the same group of miners controlling large bags at every exchange.
8725  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Where to set up a company for a new crypto project? on: October 10, 2017, 05:42:31 PM
I think you should set up in your own country, if you want the cheapest and most justifiable set up. All paperwork properly filed, all locations easily verified. The thinking now of course is to set up an entity in a crypto friendly country but this might come with regulating requirement, in which case you have a huge headache. Legal companies are not even prepared to help you.
8726  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: Are Altcoin Airdrops actually email harvesting? on: October 10, 2017, 03:15:00 PM
In the last few days, have seen a flood of Airdrops in the Altcoin Service Announcement board. What makes me wonder is, one fundamental of crypto is privacy but almost all of these so called AirDrops are asking for email id, which some are even displaying them in public spreadsheet.
Not sure if these so called coins will be worth anything, but one thing is for sure, this has opened the door for mass email harvesting Grin

I applied, and put in a disposable email for one. Still got my tokens. It was not a fake email, just one I opened up to use for that particular airdrop. I just checked now after seeing this post and have not seen any spam in there. I wonder if there is any use in harvesting ETH addresses, though? They are not really difficult to get since you can see all of the addresses issued tokens on the blockchain though. Maybe you are on to something, we just do not know yet.
8727  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: TGT ( target coin speculation ) on: October 10, 2017, 02:48:47 PM
It is tough enough for a coin these days to double or triple in price, but eight times in a few weeks is quite amazing. I was supporting the campaign during the promotional period before the ICO, but was unable to participate myself with a substantial investment. I am so glad I chose this coin, even if it was for a small return. And with so much yet to come, I think everyone involved will be looking forward to the next few months. Positive gains always beats negative, any day.
8728  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Anybody watching the Yobit insta ICO? on: October 10, 2017, 01:31:56 PM
I have a small Yobit account thanks to an extremely bad decision to buy an alt that so few exchanges supported. I go in there to claim my extremely small faucets every week and today I see an ICO going on. Bought a few coins with my faucet earnings haha. Anyone want to tell me I made a good, bad, or unpredictable decision? Chatbox over these seems crazy with people shoving 80 BTC in on 15 minutes. I thought everyone was holding for the fork!
8729  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: QTUM/BTC - BUY now for FREE meal ^^ on: October 10, 2017, 11:01:56 AM
Yes, Qtum has big potential, so I agree it is a good investment. But will all altcoins falling now, probably because people want to accumulate BTC before the forks(s), the price may get even lower in the following days, which will be a very good buy opportunity.

Agreed. I think aside from early QTUM investors, those who went in at the middling periods have been patiently waiting for the market to rise, but this is almost the same across all alts. All the charts show hills and now are in sideways trending patterns. Looks like a long wait for October and then November BTC forks. I say one more week for QTUM and alts to reach perfect entry range for great value in December.
8730  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Do you trade based on your emotions? on: October 10, 2017, 09:11:43 AM
If you ask me, one should never trade or do anything associated with risk based on their emotions. Emotions have the bad habit of blocking the normal logical thinking and reasoning and may force you to take decisions which are outright stubborn. These decisions will most likely have bad effects in future and thus controlling them is a must.

However I must say, this does not mean I will invest in athenacoin. Period

I agree, and anyone here serious about trading will agree. But the truth is, 90% of us traders here are amateurs who rely a lot on the advice of others and react to the news we read on websites and social media. The problem with marketing and shilling is that they work,,, whether we care to admit it or not. Every day is a lesson for me and I believe I grow more as I trade, win or lose. But sometimes I throw out the chart and buy or sell on emotion. I wish I did not and I know I do it less every day. But it is something a lot of us are not immune to.
8731  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: My Crypto experience on: October 10, 2017, 08:42:43 AM
Everyone is entitled to their own opinion I suppose. But what's interesting from this story is that he became very rich from little to suggest it was nothing more than a gamble.

Or would like OP like to explain what were the fundamentals of the "research" that he did prior to buying Bitcoin at $72? I'm sure you must still have those records, why not show us?

I feel it is strange to show so much PAX research but so little on the one behind BTC. Surely must be so similar to warrant your approval.
8732  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Do you think the xrp price will pump on Swell conference? on: October 10, 2017, 07:27:41 AM
A quickly dump on yesterday, why they weren't wait until the conference date?

Dumping pressure across the board for all alts, Ripple was no exception. There are bargains everywhere, and with Swell still to take place, you can be sure there are going to be even fewer opportunities for excellent prices to buy in now. I am taking a small risk now to wait even one more week or more to take up more positions, and XRP will definitely be on my list! Buy order at 4480 (just above 5200 right now at Bitfinex).
8733  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: What ALTS are you currently buying while they're in red? on: October 10, 2017, 07:05:59 AM
I will pick up on Elastic (XEL) which I have never seen below 10k sats since I started following. If it even goes back to 14k which it will when alts rebound, that's an easy >50%, although I will definitely hold until 30k which would be a breach of the 25k wall it keeps struggling against. I actually already bought in when it was 19k so am suffering more than 50% losses but at least if I double my position now, I can break even at 14k.

Oh, and I am waiting for another 2 weeks right before the fork.
8734  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: GAMING ico - Enjin Coin (ENJ) on: October 10, 2017, 06:41:19 AM
For starters, I would take some of their claims with a grain of salt,,, but simply because we should take any claims about crypto with a grain of salt - even with the older alts like ETH and LTC and Monero. Having said that, ENJIN had a really strong marketing effort. You only needed to see the advertising and campaign here to understand that. Reach back into their discussion channels and it was refreshing to see gamers and not just ICO investors chatting about the project. For me it was a bit risky because it relies also on Bancor to be a success.
8735  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin or Altcoin before the hardfork? on: October 10, 2017, 05:57:28 AM
Well, if you have a lot of Bitcoin then it's free money so make sure to hold it all in your own wallet.

If you think selling off your alts is a good idea to do that, you are wrong. By the time you receive your free coins and want to buy back in, you will have to buy in at a higher price. Probably lose more than what you gain from "free coins". This new Bitcoin alt gold or whatever it is called will not even cost half of Bitcoin Cash.
8736  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What is your top ICO for November? on: October 10, 2017, 05:26:48 AM
First of all, am not a shill. Have never promoted this project and have only ever mentioned it once. But it is my answer to this question.

My top ICO for November is UTRUST. It was expected this month but was pushed to November because it has spent all the extra time to pursue compliance with regards to the ICO and company. So wait for the official announcement. This has been so many weeks in coming, they did not rush it, so it is going to be big.
8737  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Dash and Litecoin change (24h) on: October 09, 2017, 09:35:30 PM
Christ. I thought I bought in so well one to two weeks ago when everything was down but this is nothing compared to what it looks like today. I was prepared for fiat value to more or less hold, and Bitcoin value vs alts to go down, but it seems as Bitcoin pushes above 4,500, alts are getting whipped badly even against US dollar. This can't seriously JUST be because of Bitcoin Gold, can it?
8738  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: A list of masternode supported cryptocurrencies on: October 09, 2017, 07:12:04 PM
Haha, naughty OP, he has installed Coinhive to hijack our computers to mine Monero. If anyone is good at detecting the address, we should add that list to a blacklist. Also, do inform Coinhive about their client's misbehaviour. Did you forget that bitcointalk users are not so amateur? We read the news too, you know.

It is a poor masternode list anyway, I see a few very important coins missing from that list.
8739  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: utrust ICO on: October 09, 2017, 06:32:05 PM
Correct me if I'm wrong but utrust is kinda like paypal but you can pay with cryptocurrencies and the seller get fiat right?
Also there is no fee if you use utrust token so if it works the token will be very valuable right?

I'm surprised(and worried) that people on bitcointalk are not more excited about this.

Yup, it is going to be very similar to Paypal, except it wants to let you use a range of cryptocurrencies and multiple fiat conversions. Basically a single wallet type without wondering if your crypto or fiat will work. They are working closely for regulation in Switzerland, according to latest updates, and will have proper AML procedures. Even the ICO seems compliant. If that works out, they might just be the first regulated exchange/payment that will work across platforms.
8740  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: STRATIS Pumping again...be careful on: October 09, 2017, 06:17:57 PM
Good points, but careful you do not read too much into them. If you look hard enough for something, you will easily equate facts as evidence to support what you want to find. Objectively, some of these points should be a red flag, but if you look at some of the alts we all know and take to be "good", they share some of the traits. Leaders with lots of fluff. Check. Only 1 or 2 devs. Check. Constant delay on roadmap objectives, and then conveniently forgetting, check.
