881  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: [Offically Announced] U.S. To Sell Silkroad's Bitcoins on: January 24, 2014, 01:23:45 PM
This is assuming that SR did not have a password to the wallet the bitcoins were in? How were the Feds able to get access to the coins. They must have been in a wallet right?

Gee, I don't know, maybe this kit helped ?

R9 290X on: January 24, 2014, 01:19:02 PM
Grin

883  Bitcoin / Mining software (miners) / Re: Teamviewer question on: January 24, 2014, 01:14:07 PM
Well, it's not 100% reliable, it has seriously hit me in the gut 2-3 times.

You can set some other solution as a backup, good thing about TV that you do not need to worry about port forwarding in some cases.

TightVnc was a good program, dunno about other software out there today.
884  Other / Off-topic / Re: Name some good stratergy games on: January 24, 2014, 11:47:45 AM
Don't remember if mentioned in this thread by someone else or by me - King's Bounty is a awesome fun strategy.

Also played some good indie games lately.

Prison architect = fun prison tycoon but wears out in a day or two. Not worth the $.

Banner saga = epic tactical rpg, which kinda counts as a strategy. Felt very bad for pirating this one. On the good site, their kickstarter set them at 7x expected profit, so at least they are not starving Smiley

885  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Turning off GPU Acceleration? on: January 24, 2014, 11:40:31 AM
With my settings every card under I=14 is usable

If you have an iGpu maybe consider that as an option too?

EDIT:
In the cgminer readme it says the default intensity is 'd' for desktop interactive performance. Try setting the intensity of the card you use for your monitor to 'd'.

dunno about you, but when scrypt with d my hashrate drops to 10-25% while at 13 desktop is usable and mining at least 80%
886  Bitcoin / Mining software (miners) / Re: Teamviewer question on: January 24, 2014, 11:36:55 AM
Maybe your remotes stop mining and go to sleep on inactivity?

what do you mean by "cannot connect"?

do those remotes show as online when you try?
887  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Why do people think income tax is ok? on: January 24, 2014, 11:30:18 AM
We can argue anything is okay if it has benefits; perhaps the holocaust benefited someone who needed a Jew dead.  Naturally, we view the holocaust as a bad thing, because we apply the concepts of ethics.  I personally believe ethics should come standard to any society, otherwise it only collapses in the end

Nazi Germany collapsed because it took a bite bigger than it could chew, not because of it's unethical ways.
America is unethical - they are doing ok. Emirates are very unethical - also ok. Etc, etc, etc...

On a side note: "holocaust" benefited every other jew on the planet. Mostly it enabled the bitching and moaning, or rather the "right to bitch and moan".
888  Other / Off-topic / Re: [NSFW] Nudists are into Bitcoin !!! on: January 22, 2014, 09:42:29 AM
Oldest trick in the book.... everyon can pull out from the internet a picture of a chick and add "plz donate btc"...

But not everyone can put baubles on their boobs.

Problem is - they are not bitcoin related baubles.

A whore must be 100% real genuine whore AND put a little effort to find bitcoin props for her shoot to be relevant. A btc tattooed whore would get greater attention, but at least some btc panties or something?
889  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Why do people think income tax is ok? on: January 22, 2014, 09:14:51 AM
Are you just trying to pump your post count to get the ad reward or are you serious? You're either very confused or really need to keep posting nonsense for your sig.
Yep. So many lightly brushed issues that need scratching, so little time.
Turns out he was indeed post counter trolling, as he's nowhere to be seen in this topic now. Oh well. I was raking the post count myself, but I was genuinely interested in this particular topic Smiley

If you insist that you're not simply trolling, then please provide an example of "true 0% tax" country, so I can pack my suitcases.
They don't have taxes here :-http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jungle.
You could try that I suppose.
But wouldn't that jungle belong to a government? I can go build myself a house, deep in a woods, but eventually someone will come, accuse me for using his land or chopping his wood, and present me a huge bill.

If we could self-govern, we would have been doing so through the millenia. That being said, the cost of government has far exceeded the benefit in the United States and probably everywhere else. I will go out further on the limb and state that the value of my citizenship is depreciating as government gets bigger and more intrusive while continuing to fight endless wars.

Would there be huge wars, if there would be no governments at all? I'm thinking - only some local border conflicts.
890  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: [Offically Announced] U.S. Set To Sell All Silkroad's Bitcoins on: January 17, 2014, 12:04:58 PM
I like the auction idea the most. With such press support, it may turn out even a better deal than simply going into exchange.

I wonder how would they distribute the total amount. Sell in batches of 10 BTC maybe?
891  Other / Off-topic / Re: What would you have done? on: January 17, 2014, 12:00:08 PM
To quote Minsc from Baldurs Gate 2: The bigger they are! The harder I hit!
The fact that you are quoting Baldurs Gate leads me to be doubtful of such claims  Grin.

LOL! My thoughts exactly!

On topic: it's much easier for two guys to make fun of a single person than vice-versa. You could've escalated if your up for that, by a strong "fuck off" or by making fun of him with your brother. "Can you believe this bald hobo? Should we knife his sorry ass?" so he may decide to walk slower.

But if you need to do that - means you have a problem with self-confidence. You should give 0 fucks about such slurs.

Everyone so sensitive nowadays in the united states of political correctness.

First of all about that primedice pm you sent - you just go, enter a name which is not used, and then the site generates password for you
There's no registration in the common sense

And about activity - it goes like this: activity = days spent in forum. 7 days = 7 activity. 100 days = 98 activity. Number goes up +7 each week. I think you may a day of login, or maybe more. Me myself - I visit this forum almost daily, because a lot of stuff is going on here.

ESET or Microsoft Security Essentials (you'd be surprised Smiley )

I'm being serious
895  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Best r9 280x on: January 17, 2014, 02:41:07 AM
I've had best experiences with MSI and Gigabyte so far. Tri-fan solutions manage to get better temps, if the card size is not of concern to you.
896  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: My one btc goal on: January 17, 2014, 02:37:01 AM
Spend 1-2 months on this forum to gain certain activity level, to participate in sig advertisements. Then 2-3 months of posting in threads like crazy and there you have it. Star multiple accounts and converse with yourself in foreign threads, while covering your threads for maximized profit.

With certain mindset and huge commitment it's feasible.

Not that I have a second accont, or post much myself. But then again, I mine, and do not set such goals for myself in the first place.
Would be nice to sit at home and make a living just by typing new posts though.
897  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: will the bitcoin reach $1000 one day...? on: January 17, 2014, 02:31:32 AM
Right now it's basically doiing what it did all summer, when it was around $100 and boring. Good time to go out, advertise, and get your friends into it, before it starts going up again in a month or two.

I'm sure I get your notion, but boring is not the best word for 850$ per 1 BTC

That's goddamn exciting.

R9 290X on: January 17, 2014, 02:24:35 AM
