OK, the "--data-dir D:\bitmonero" at startup and in settings to change the data folder works for the GUI wallet.
Size of folder once fully synced in 3 hours : 8.49 GB.
But I sent a few XMR from MyMonero to my GUI wallet, 2 hours later, still notting arrived ! Normal ? (Mixin : 10)
Is the transaction actually present on the blockchain? If so, try restarting the GUI.

Very nice! Finally ![Cheesy](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/cheesy.gif) But i have a question. I see this: "Due to several important updates, 0.10.1 wallet binaries will not work with with wallets created by the GUI. Please use the binaries included in the package instead. Note: you can definitely use the 0.10.1 daemon:)" I dont get exactly what it means. Does it means wallets created by the GUI work with the GUI but not with wallet binaries? Will older wallets work with the gui? Thanks. The wallet cache is incompatible due to this PR: https://github.com/monero-project/monero/pull/1462The .keys file, however, is compatible. Thus, you are able to open older wallets with the GUI if you remove the cache. Similarly, wallets created with the GUI will work with the 0.10.1.0 binaries if you remove the cache. Note that a newer version of monero-wallet-cli is also bundled with the GUI and with that version the wallet cache is compatible. Lastly, note that removing your cache results in losing your private tx keys, which may be needed in case of a dispute.

All the remote nodes I've tried have been updated to 10.1 Meantime, ARMv7 is still only available in 10.0 Now I can't use my wallet. I don't want this discussion to get derailed by suggestions that I should just fix monerod and use the blockchain. I've spent too much time on it already. Monerod doesn't sync. I have to use a remote node. What available remote node still uses 10.0 for the time being?
Crossposting relevant reddit comments: To add, have you tried adding the --allow-mismatched-daemon-version flag?

Guys, off-topic here but I'm finally getting around to actually putting 5 XMR on the very cool physical Monero coin that Smoothie gave out awhile back. Instructions say to "convert hexadecimal spend_key to base64" to print on paper and then embed on-coin, under the hologram... but first off, where do I find a particular Monero address hex "spend_key", and secondly: what software or website is recommended to convert to base64 (and TEST conversion back too)? I've googled around a bit but didn't find what's needed: I'm surely missing something simple 'cuz other people would've asked about this earlier LOL TIA for any help You could use this site from luigi1111 (a Monero core-team member). Note that it's simply a port of: https://github.com/luigi1111/xmr.llcoins.netThe .ZIP can be used offline if needed.

Hi guys, just updating from Helix to Warptangent - and thought i should note my mnemonic seed in case i need it for restoring.
But 3 of the 25 words seem to have odd characters - for instance one of the words is: poesía
if i encrypt my mnemonic will it decrypt correctly?
Which language did you choose for your mnemonic seed?

Sorry for off topic, but does anyone know where I can import a Soend Privtae Key for Monero?
Is that means Monero is SHITCOIN? answer anyone. how to use monero private key? SPEND key hold the coins. how to use it? how to import it? carlosiness and me have the same question. if nobody knows how to use monero private key this coin has no future. period Crosspost: Tried that before. "Command does not exist" You have to launch monero-wallet-cli (with that flag) from the command prompt. Please read the guide, there are instructions on how to do so in it. those instructions are usseless because : Subsequently type: simplewallet --generate-from-keys <wallet filename>and i get message: simplewallet is not recognized as an internal or external command. All day i can't spend monero with private keys! i start hate this coin Please someone give me 0.05btc and i will send all keys to you first, it is 5 XMR on it Please read my message before making such posts, because I said: Note that simplewallet was renamed to monero-wallet-cli. Thus, the command is as follows: monero-wallet-cli --generate-from-keys <wallet filename> Also note that this has command has to be executed from the command prompt. There are instructions on how to open it in the aforementioned guide.
