The problem is that ASIC leads to a lot of concentration. ASIC producers naturally also mine a lot of coins so their influence expands from a mining level to the masternodes. If we switch the mining algo people will realize that an investment in ASIC is not worth it and DASH will remain decentralized. The algo can also be switched every year or so to make it very clear that we want DASH to remain decentralized on all levels. It is very likely that ASIC companies already pay some people to support ASIC and to claim that it is a good thing. ASIC will transfer power from the community to manufacturers and lead to centralization. Not really in my opinion, resistant means that once ASICs are out they won't have a large advantage over the GPU/CPU miners and the latter group can still compete with them. It remains to be seen if that is possible and how large the advantage of ASICs will be. |

Please bear in the mind the community is not selling in the need of money but helping the people outside of M8nero community to get at least a tiny share of the digital gold. If XMR hit USD 400000 each I can assure you I will be a seller. Think of all the coins that would be lost forever when their owners overdose on coke. Self-reinforcing scarcity. Or those who lost them in a boat accident! Which could coincide with coke & hookers.

MyMonero coins can't be frozen because if MyMonero refuses to let you use them (or shuts down), you can import your private keys (via the seed) to another wallet. Coins that are deposited on a centralized exchange can be frozen. Any chance to have this functionality in the GUI? It would make things ultra easy. There is some issue with merging the MyMonero seed import code that I don't understand, but code exists on github, available to be used in an emergency. However, a readily available workaround is to create a wallet with simplewallet first, then use the same seed on MyMonero. At that point you have a wallet that can directly accessed with both methods (MyMonero for convenience, simplewallet or another wallet if necessary). I'm sure this method will work with the GUI as well. I think the offline paper wallet generator (URL?) can also be used to create a fully portable wallet. Speculation wise, we double topped at the local high of ~210k. Therefore, a retrace was expected and happened (someone dumped 30k). It is likely though that we make another run for it, because it isn't such a strong resistance point. Furthermore, I think the wall guy splitted up his 100k and put them in the asks at various places for now. |

Hey - I hate to say it, but volume has declined on both sides. It's about a third of what it was just a few days back. And you can't say that of the two other coins ahead of us on Polo, sadly. I hope we do break upwards, of course - but The t/o of ETH is so strong that it's plain there is no lack of funds in Polo just now. I was expecting a rise up as BTC fell back - it seems it isn't happening just yet. Am hodling a fair stash and in for the long term, still buying dips - but even nudging just under 0.002 would feel a hell of a lot better right now. That's pretty normal for a retrace going into a consolidation. It also means buyers might have to move up their bids or marketbuy, because the sellers are getting exhausted. In other words, the amount of coins up for grabbing by simply putting bids is getting more scarce. Furthermore, I am kind of certain that volume will increase once we move upwards, because Poloniex traders will simply jump on it and "ride the wave". With respect to TA: -4h MACD is flipping into green. -The short term downtrend line / triangle lies around ~180k (the upper line), so that might be closing soon. Furthermore, there is still strong support in the 165k-170k, because (i) it has been tested multiple times on high volume and (ii) it's approximately the 61.8% retracement level from the surge of 120k to 246k. The 6h MACD is also flipping to green and the 12H might follow soon. Furthermore, the ask side looks rather flat. We might be gearing up for another try at that 235k-246k resistance zone.

Have you even read my comment? Those binaries are made by Hyc, who is the author of LMDB, which Monero uses -> https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lightning_Memory-Mapped_Database. If you don't trust him you shouldn't use Monero at all, because LMDB is a large part of the Monero code. If I recall correctly, there will be official binaries soon once the remaining bugs are squashed. Calm down. Understand you and i'm reading this right now. Looking good i will try it. How come Monero still don't have wallet for windows 32 bit?
(I see you have for version 64 bit).
For example i have windows 7 32 bit and all i can do is to store my Moneros on Bittrex,
Also i have phone and same story. I wont install 64 version especially for Monero. Many think like me.
