881  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What will happen after cryptocurrency on: September 28, 2019, 07:34:21 AM
Technology grows fast, centuries ago, people never knew that other forms of money will come into existence. So, we cannot surely say what will come next after cryptocurrency. Maybe another innovation will come up, or crypto itself will be more improved which will better suit the current society or economy we are sitting in at the moment.
882  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Adoption! Finally? on: September 28, 2019, 06:36:01 AM
Japan is one of the best example for a country who adopted bitcoin as a currency. They adopted crypto a bit later than other countries but it seems in regards to crypto adoptation, usage and growth Japan is leading. There is no doubt since Japan is know for a country who adopts Technolgy very fast. I hope some other country will see Japan as a good example.
883  Economy / Economics / Re: Why Cryptocurrency threatens governments on: September 28, 2019, 03:57:05 AM
It is simply because crypto will take away the governments power over fiat currency. If by chance crypto will be massively accepted as an alternative to fiat and it's centralization will stay, the government will lose control over the fund and most people will switch to crypto. Cryptocurrency has gave the people's right for privacy and anonimity.
884  Economy / Economics / Re: CASHING OUT YOUR CRYPTO-CURRENCY PROFITS on: September 28, 2019, 02:55:23 AM
I think it varies from country to country since other banks are skeptical when you report that your money comes from cryptocurrency. But it is better to give the banks a heads up before deposting any huge amount to your bank, because banks can freeze money that they think is suspicious and cryptofunds can be sometimes be suspicious in banks point of view. You should weigh the situation and existing policy or law in your country, before planning on depositing crypto money in your local bank, just to be safe.
885  Economy / Economics / Re: How long can you endure? on: September 28, 2019, 01:14:52 AM
It is good to be Optimistic, but sometimes you assume the worst so as to be able to endure the hard time, we have thought the bearish  be over by now, different speculations...with the view of things, the bear persists, there is a lenght to which everyone can persevere in tough time. how long can you endure the bear?

As long as you are not selling you are not losing anything. If you had been in the market for too long, the drop from ATH down to the dip of the market had been the worst loss most people had. The market will teach you patience. Just enjoy the bear market buy buying small chunks, and do not focus too much in crypto, get a life, find something to do, find a job, and do other things while the market is not favorable or profitable. Trade once in a while and gain profit. That would lessen being be too stressed with the current market situation.
886  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Can more ATM's increase adoption for Bitcoin? on: September 28, 2019, 12:34:52 AM
I haven't seen any bitcoin ATM in our country yet, since bitcoin in our country is not yet as exposed as it is compared to other countries. However, I think bitcoin ATM requiring KYCs and not to mention the fees on transacting would not be beneficial for users not unless it's really an emergency. It can help with exposure, but as for adaptation, it might have a little impact. I think retail store accepting crypto or any other establishments accepting crypto can help adaptation.
887  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gambling as a profession: there's people who live out of gambling? on: September 27, 2019, 11:56:09 PM
Just curious here.
I know there are tons of way to live.

but is there such a thing as professional gamblers?

people who make a living onlyout of gambling (online or on rl)?

resources and comments on that are really welcome.

Well, there are. There are poker players who are famous in gambling industry and they are earning a lot of money from gambling by joining tournaments and other poker events. I think there are other people who are making a living thru gambling. Anyway, it's great to earn why you are doing what you love, but take note that being to addicted in gambling is not a good trait to have and this big time gamblers already a huge pocket on them that's why  they have the luxury to gamble with a huge amount of money.
888  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What are the dangers inside cryptocurrency investing on: September 27, 2019, 11:40:17 PM
I guess people who are prone to the danger in investing in crypto are those who are not fully aware of how the market works. Sometimes the hype in the market entices people to put all their money in crypto without even understanding the risk of what they are getting into. One friend of mine a few years ago when we are both new in crypto had earned $1,000 when he first invested. And being too confident on the crypto market, he even sold some of his personal belongings and property put all in crypto and had lost multiple times of what he first earned. A lesson that would really hit you so hard. Always invest what you can afford to lose, and never be to complacent that crypto will always bring you great fortune if you are a risk taker.
889  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Be careful of Bitcoins giveaways that are too good to be true on: September 27, 2019, 12:21:20 PM
Only newbies and greedy investors would fall for this. I remember when I first started in crypto there are bitcoin doubler investment schemes, and during that time it is really rampant and many people fall for it. Keep in mind any investment that is too good to be true and offers a great return in a short span of time is a scam. Be cautious when investing, and make sure to do a background check and review before investing.
890  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Why hasn't any altcoin replaced bitcoin? on: September 26, 2019, 07:17:07 AM
To make it simple, the reason why there is altcoin is because of bitcoin. The idea, purpose, and aim of every crypto is derived from bitcoin, which is decentralization, convenience and being open on an open market. Bitcoin is one of the best innovation, it made transactions and exchange of commodity easy. That is why a lot of people had seen the long term potential of it.
891  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: this is what every country will do on: September 25, 2019, 12:03:21 AM
Lithuania is preparing new rules to govern cryptocurrency transactions, requiring businesses to prove the identity of clients, local daily news outlet Delfi reported on June 12.

As part of its obligations to impose European Union anti-money laundering (AML) regulations, Lithuania’s finance ministry will seek to completely formalize crypto-based exchange operations.

Parliament approved the move during a sitting on Wednesday, Delfi says, while a time frame remains uncertain for implementation.

Once the rules come into effect, any transactions worth over €1,000 ($1,127) involving cryptocurrency — be it into or out of fiat or from one cryptocurrency to another — will face stringent reporting requirements.

Exchanges or similar businesses will have to gather identity information about the buyer, while large operations over €15,000 ($16,919) will oblige them to inform Lithuania’s Financial Crime Investigation Service.

https://cointelegraph.com/news/lithuania-to-regulate-cryptocurrency-exchange-sector-with-obligatory-id-checks

Since illegal activities, fraud and money laundering is rampant in crypto sphere, I think some countries are getting aware that crypto is the safest way for illegal transactions to happen without even getting the authorities attention due to its anonimity. That is why some countries are regulating crypto transactions and security. This is not a new issue and I think we can expect that in the future, crypto currency anonimity will not be the same as how it was before.
892  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Did gambling affected your personal reputation? on: September 22, 2019, 05:03:20 PM
Everyone stating that gambling will affect someone's image in the society so this is actually happened with you?

For me it happened once why are you gambling its a sin in our life I replied its my wish I can do what ever I wanted.

Gambling is not a big issue in our society and even at a religious view. In fact, gambling is part of our culture. So, as long as you are on track and is not that addicted in gambling that it affects your life, family, and well being, no one will have something bad to say about you.
893  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Why Choose Lottery Instead Of Anything Else? on: September 20, 2019, 06:23:51 AM
The only reason I can see is the amount of money one can win in lottery compared to other gambling games. Lottery has lesser chance of winning and it gives a higher reward. People will grab this chance to win a huge amount of money. But I honestly think that this gambling game shouldn't be taken seriously because there's nothing fun about it. People play iy for the money and not for fun.
894  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gambling Money is Dirty Money on: September 19, 2019, 05:22:13 AM
This to me is a traditional view which remains persistent until the very day.

My mother considered gambling as playing with money. She sternly reminded us not to gamble. When I was in college, there was a hot debate within the church whether or not to accept donations coming from dirty sources such as gambling. And in Islam, gambling (maysir) is haram (forbidden). [1]

I have a friend whose father would not serve the family food bought using gambling money.

And just a few years ago, our Education Secretary shunned billions of state-funds because they are coming from gambling. She didn't think it moral and proper to buy books and even build classrooms using the dirty gambling money. [2]

What are your thoughts on these? Do you agree with it, or you consider these as old-fashioned views?

In a religious point of view it is. However, gambling has been part of our culture and daily lives and also it is a big business industry which I think helps the economy. Even some big casinos help charities and foes their social responsibility. So, I think it depends on what view are you looking at gambling.
895  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Most of gamblers are rich or poor? on: September 17, 2019, 11:51:31 PM
That is an easy question to answer. The majority of the gamblers are poor if not all of them because what would be the point to gamble if you are rich enough? It doesn’t make any sense and most of the gamblers play to win money so I think most of the gamblers are poor.

You honestly think that Las Vegas, city built in the middle of nowhere became so popular  and built it's wealth because of massive amount of poor people gambling there? Or for example Monte  Carlo, tiny state state on the French Riviera, with 2nd highest GDP per capita in the world, that built it's known by gambling and casinos. Or maybe Macau, another top gambling destination?

Some people gamble for fun, not all are desperate  and poor people looking to sort their life issues through that.

Montecarlo and Las Vegas are different, all rich people go to Vegas while in Monaco are living some of the wealthiest persons on earth right now like F1 drivers and alikes. It is only natural for Monaco to be a rich place as almost all people living there are rich so the casino there is just a passing time hobby. In Vegas a lot of Us people go to have some fun,all the classes.I still think the majority are poor people as middle class family I consider a family which can afford one or two vacations every year, can afford a surgery and can fulfill all of their expenses monthly with their salary, these person do not really need to gamble.

Well you claimed that majority of gamblers are poor because "what's the point of gambling if you are rich enough". And i pointed out that there are bunch of rich and middle class people gambling regularly, as people gamble for various reasons.

Poor people gamble with a hope that they will solve their bad financial situation and other issues by gambling.
Rich and middle class people  play for other reasons. Their need for money in this case is secondary reason why they play, first one is adrenaline and excitement that winning brings. I met bunch of lawyers and doctors who simply liked to play a bit after a hard day. They weren't hardcore gamblers or high rollers, they simply played for fun.

I believe in your statement, however, most people who gamble are really desperate and at the same time lazy. Most people I know who are poor and is addicted in gambling gamble because, first, it is fun and the easiest way to earn money, second, they can have a shot on winning a lot (which we know has a smaller odd), finally, earning thru gambling is easier than working your ass out 8 hours a day.

On the other hand, rich people who gamble does it for money, habit and to socialize. Being rich doesn't stop you from wanting more. Man is naturally born greedy.
896  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Shower thought. If nations/states/governments are accumulating Bitcoin, then on: September 17, 2019, 06:52:22 AM
I believe they must be doing it in secret. What would be the advantage for North Korea, or Iran, to let everyone know that they are accumulating/mining/HODLING?

I think some countries' government are accumulating crypto and maybe discreet about it since crypto is not yet massively adapted. Maybe those country who believes in technology, innovation and sees the potential of crypto as an alternative medium of exchange.

898  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gambling Marketing And Religion on: September 15, 2019, 09:01:36 PM
As we know that Gambling is prohibited in certain religions including Islam. If anyone does it, the earned money is not legal and is considered Sin.

But what if someone is promoting a gambling site on social media etc, will the money earned from it be legal provided he will never directly gamble ?

Promoting that is illegal in your religion would also be illegal I think. If you put it in a simple way, in a religious side, if you are promoting something that is taboo in you religion it means you are also entertaining it, so it is clear that your income from promoting gambling is also against your religion.
899  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: If You Win Big Will You Remember Your Losses on: September 14, 2019, 05:06:33 AM
I have a friend who wins 15,000 pesos or $300 the first time keno games in an offline betting outlet, he is so happy and very ecstatic about his winnings, I congratulate him and ask him how long before he hit the jackpot, he told me that it took him 7 months and he is betting daily at 100  pesos or $3 so his losses are bigger than winnings.

But surprisingly he did not calculate his losses all he cares about is he finally wins, how about you do you remember your losses when you win a big amount and do you calculate your losses and ask if the winning is worth it?

Most gamblers have the same mentality. No gambler records or even takes note or make a journal of their daily winning and losses to keep track of their winning or losses. For gamblers, winning is everything no matter how much money you have lost before, I guess that would not matter as long as you are winning or you had hit a jackpot.
900  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gambling just for fun? on: September 13, 2019, 05:24:35 AM
There are some people gamble and lose. if you ask them why do you gamble? They will answer you "just for fun"
They know they are loser in long term and no strategy works, but continue to gamble for fun.
How can enjoy something that you know you will lose? Is losing money really enjoyable? Isn't there any other entertainment you can enjoy?
I think these people are still hopeful of winning back previous losses or they are addicted. Gambling cannot be just for fun. There are many free games too.

It all varies from people to people. Of course literally losing money is not fun. However, there are people who are gambling to socialize and just to let time pass, or to have fun. It's juat that majority of gamblers are playing for money of course.
