I haven't tried using other currencies aside from bitcoin. However, there are times that the network is congested that is why it takes time for withdrawal/deposit to get thru. I am starting to consider whether if other coins will cost less with regards to transaction fee, so might try other coins when I gamble.

Gamblers wouldn't exert an effort to submit KYC just to play. They will surely look for sites which don't require it. Most gamblers don't want to expose their identity because they find it risky. I don't think that LN could change the entire situation of Bitcoin. I believe that it has a big impact yet if we'll look back in the history of Bitcoin, we could all see that it moved on its own way despite different influences along the way. If larger businesses and online companies would accept bitcoin, that's the best influence that could bring bitcoin into a better place.
