881  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Analyzing XRP's Potential: Can It Reach $1? on: July 21, 2023, 01:29:22 PM
If we're just going to talk about the possibilities of it reaching $1, let's just say that it's there. But giving the percentage of how it is possible to happen, I have no idea.

As long as there are news coming in for it and giving the insights in the market and how's the case did and respective updates given, there goes the exposure that it's getting from the community.

But I am not optimistic with this coin anymore. Anyhow, who knows if that will be reached soon or not. Could be more or less, we will see in the bull run.
882  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Will You Return Hardware Wallet That Contains 3+ BTC in a Hotel Room? on: July 21, 2023, 11:56:15 AM
I have felt the feeling of losing something important and I've got that thought and understanding of how it feels for that person to lose that amount and that could be his entire life savings.

But there's this thought of mine that I should return it to the rightful people if the owner is nowhere to be found. Like I'll hand it over to the police or if there's no police visibility, to the right people where they'll hand it over to the actual of owner of it.

That's why for those that have felt and experienced losing something and then some good people have returned it, you know what to do but to do the right thing and do the favor.

Game 1 between 9panda and VP on Riyadh Master is very intense match. Ramzes hard carrying his team the whole game and it just ended with 1 mistake which is he over protect chen that result them a game. I don't understand why he keeps on the front line while the Chen is already save in the backlines. He thinks he can 4v1 the enemy team while there's a doom on the opponent side.

I thought they will have a very good comeback but Ramzes once again choke. He is good on farming his items but sometimes failed on decision making when they are already catching up the enemy. Game 2 on the way. I think Kiyotaka needs to step since he is a complete useless the whole game.
I saw how ramzes became titled against Team Secret. Although the match ended up with a 1-1 but the first game was too easy for Team Secret and it's just like 15 minutes of game when ramzes have been continued to get killed. With the last one at the top lane of radiant, he got killed again and then typed good game well played and then disconnected.

On the otherhand, VP has already farewelled to the Riyadh and 9pandas are going to continue on the group stage. Ready your pockets boys, later we'll see the rumble from other teams as well including GG, Talon, PSG.LGD, SR and others.

Gmail is still popular upto this time and think of Yahoo! that has already lost a lot of share in the market yet they're still operating and good. While Gmail is on a better place, I don't see them closing anytime soon.

Maybe for some of their service, they're closing it down but the service they're running for emails(gmail) isn't going to be down. I don't see any reason for them to turn it down.

When majority of the entire world is using them and they've got the biggest market share in terms of being an email provider to everybody.
885  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Days you need to work your ass at minimum wage for a BTC, by country on: July 20, 2023, 11:13:32 AM
Just looking at the numbers making me feel that I'm one of the luckiest people on Earth that have managed to hold a quite some amount of Bitcoin up to the present.

While these minimum wages are likely the sum that one has to work for with the calculation of how many days it shall be saved. The deduction for the daily needs and survival, taxes and those monthly bills is likely make it hard to impossible for minimum wage earners to own a bitcoin.

I see this thread as an appreciation thread instead.

I remember someone said that he's got his recovery phrases memorized on his mind and I don't know if that's true and his argument with that is that no one will ever steal it on his mind.

But you all know the catch and the topic is just the same for having 2-4 words or seeds that's missing from writing it down.

It's not a good idea but this time, you do you. Whatever is working to you, do it as you're the one who's responsible for everything you do.

We have so many games on this Riyadh masters but it's understandable that it's still a play-in and even as of typing this, there are a lot of games that are on-going and upcoming.

Quest performing this well with a new man in a roster is also a bit of surprise. I think I will wait few days before betting big on this tournament. Have to get a feeling for the teams.
True.

I am not expecting that they're going to perform well at the first day but they just did. Team Liquid, Team Aster and 9pandas are doing well. And the same goes with Entity that has a new offlane which is Gabbi.
889  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: July 18, 2023, 01:12:44 PM
That's the sad truth with these teams and the entire league, no matter how good you are then at the end of it everything matters as a business.
This could be a blessing in disguise for Cam. He might lose a lot of playing time in the next season with Beal and Booker taking any of the guard positions. Cam if he trains and competes well in San Antonio can shine, especially if Wembanyama turns into a machine next season or the following seasons.
I am sure that they know their roles and that's why whether he's got a lesser playing time, he knows it that it's for the team.

Maybe that's what they're trying to do but still, I think that they need more than that.
This trade is a big win for San Antonio and I felt like they are already looking forward to becoming a serious contender as fast as they could which might be possible if Wemby can average 20+ points and some more meaningful stats next season. I even saw earlier an article about the Spurs' potential to get Zion Williamson.
They need to strengthen their roster and just like how serious the other teams are. It's not just about focusing with Wemby but also to have some other supporting and key players.

He is still young and very capable of turning himself into a star one day. This exposure of having to play with these 4 superstars is huge and he will learn a lot. I can feel the excitement. Phoenix did something extraordinary by not just combining 3 superstars but 4. Maybe the media is not giving much attention to this because the city is not as big as LA or San Franciso, etc. but they will become the main talks if the quadrumvirate works very well.
It's just that there's a bunch of good and athletic players and with the asset that he's got for his height, others have that and have a better shooting.

So, from his team now, that's all he need to do and improve to become a key role player.
890  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Threats and vulnerabilities in Bitcoin security on: July 18, 2023, 07:55:14 AM
1.Private Key Management
The protected management of private keys, which are used to access and transfer funds, is a challenge for Bitcoin security. Bitcoins may be lost if private keys are misplaced, taken, or compromised. Individuals are advised to use secure procedures for backing up their private keys and protecting them as well. Security can be improved with hardware wallets, private offline storage options, and strong control over passwords.
IMHO, this should be the first thing that newbies have to learn. On how to secure their private keys because many of them don't know how to properly keep it.

Just like me in the past who's ignorant about the importance of where we're storing it, the mistake that many does is like putting it on their emails and other cloud storages, google spreadsheets, etc.

That's a big mistake.

While the suggestion is true, owning a hardware wallet is the best thing to have.

Riyadh Masters 2023 is about to start in 2 days. It is one of the highest prize pools for e-sports this year so earning a spot is hard.
What I've got in mind is that someday that if Riyadh masters or Saudi Arabia keeps on developing their country as an e-sports hub. Someday the tournaments that will be held there could even surpass the prize pooling for the grandest TI.

But for now, this is actually a good tournament and with all seriousness from the participating teams prior to their participation in the TI12.

Good luck to all of the teams and I hope that most of the bettors this time will be having a great dinner with their bets.  Tongue

This year's prize pool is almost the same as last year's TI prize pool. The TI prize pool was low last year compared to the year before can be attributed to the bad Battle Pass. If Valve will release a better battle pass and does not split it like last year, TI may return to the sub-40 million prize pool. It will be hard for Riyadh to match that.

Anyway, 15 million is already a large pot for e-sports. Not so many e-sports have that much of a prize pot.
Valve does have their own way of thinking of how it's going to be shared to the teams and with this upcoming TI. We all know that everybody shares the help through the Battle pass sales but since they don't have it this year, I guess that we probably have seen the peak of it.

And sooner or later when the prize pool for the TI drops, it's going to be that most players and teams will be preparing more to get qualified in Riyadh masters if ever this happens again.
892  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Investors, what metrics of BTC you constantly monitor? on: July 18, 2023, 04:33:11 AM
Anyway what are the metrics you constantly monitor in order to be updated on current market changes?
Any news that's related to the market, that's one thing that I'm checking constantly to be aware of the happenings in the market. The current news and events is a big thing for an investor and trader to see the fundamentals that are inside the market.

What tools you use to view those metrics?
Not a lot, basically those that have charts like what we see in tradingview and other price trackers.

^Obviously the Phoenix Suns are just trying to open up some space because it's going to hurt them with Bradley Beal, Kevin Durant, Devin Booker, and DeAndre Ayton on their roster. Big names mean big salaries that are eating their salary cap.

It must've hurt the feelings of Cam Payne. He did his best to show how he stepped up his performance in every game just so he could keep his position for the Phoenix Suns. But, this is all business. They now have Beal and they will probably just focus on him and Booker as their guards, they won't need a backup anymore.
That's the sad truth with these teams and the entire league, no matter how good you are then at the end of it everything matters as a business.

Good for San Antonio Spurs, they now have a veteran perspective in their roster, that's if they won't move Payne to another team. I think he can do some help for the young Wemby.
Maybe that's what they're trying to do but still, I think that they need more than that.

It's nice to see another opportunity for Bol to play and maybe show his skills and keep his position with the Suns, else, he may
no longer have the same chance to play again with another team/s.

He needs to keep on improving to save his spot in this league, Skillset wise, he just needs to needed to keep improving for more.
This young guy still have a lot to push. Give some love for yah boi Bol Bol.
895  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: How did we do at the beginning to have bitcoins? (2010-2011 ...) on: July 17, 2023, 08:39:28 AM
I remember when Xapo was still popular and I was still a beginner by that time. IIRC, I was still not yet part of the forum but then I've seen faucets were almost everywhere.

So, it's too easy to do it like you just copy your bitcoin address and paste it on those faucet websites and repetitively doing it for so many times after a few minutes. I've got a lot of time during that time because I was hype of what I've known.

But this was later on 2015 IIRC.

It was like life was too simple before and a few exchanges in existence and miners that have a lot of Bitcoins were likely to give it away.
896  Economy / Economics / Re: How Long in Years Should I Wait Before I Close Down an Unprofitable Business on: July 16, 2023, 09:52:49 PM
It's not really advisable to take a loan to help a business that's trying to survive. It's only good to take a loan when you're into expansion and your business is already profitable. But I do understand why many owners are doing that, it's because they're believing in what they do and the business that they're establishing.

But then, if it's already too long like a year or two and then the business is still not making a profit and you're already in debt. That's the time to acknowledge everything that it's not going to work if you have done already a lot of things like trying to change the process, upscaling, changing location and other things.

Yep, lesson learned, I shouldn't have taken that loan, after I know that the business is not profitable again. But I think the main reason why I took that loan is because I still want to keep up the hope, since I already invest my money my time and my effort into the business. I don't think I could accept that all those time, money and effort will be wasted if I close the business at that time. It turn out, those loan make me waste more money, more time and more effort.
Yes, it's understandable as a business owner when you are believing to your business and of course to yourself. Then, you'll do everything even up to taking loans just to push it through because you see that there's still a chance.

But there is going to be a point of time that you will realize that every effort and money you've exerted on it will come to an end. The lessons are there and you'll still be able to use that in your next business venture.

However, the pain that you'll feel by letting it go is going to remain in your heart.
897  Other / Politics & Society / Re: The best motivation on: July 16, 2023, 08:57:44 PM
You don't need motivation from anyone, what you only need to think is about the daily survival that you have to make. I barely remember who said that if you need a motivation, you'll stay on where you are.

I know that motivation is going to drive you at your best when you've got one. So, if you're going to have something that pushes you at your best, what you need to do is to do everything with happiness.

So whether you've got one or none, do it with joy and fun like if you're in your job.

Same thoughts here, Betboom is the only team that gives GG a solid fight and actually show dominance agains them. I think Betboom can have a shot on the Finals if only Pure stay in the roster and they continue their upper bracket journey that time since they are so good before they got dq on their Tundra match.
Worry not anymore, BetBoom despite the controversy of their one player (Pure) on the Bali major. They'll going to face again GG and other teams on Riyadh and as well as in TI.

Pure is likely to stay in the roster and this issue had gone cooldown already. With the news coming out of securing their US Visa, they're going to go in the US for the TI in Seattle.

I hope that other teams won't have any difficulty getting US Visa since it's always have been the case for most teams.
899  Economy / Economics / Re: How Long in Years Should I Wait Before I Close Down an Unprofitable Business on: July 15, 2023, 03:33:51 PM
I think it highly depend on the industry of the business, I only have experienced two business failure. I will only tell the first one which is a culinary business, everything went bad in the first year, and the business didn't make any profit after the 9th month, and it ran out of money after 1 year (or 14 month, I forget the details) so I decided to take a loan, this culinary business is not getting better and I officially give up after 2 years and 3 months. I think the loan is a mistake and I should be just give up after 1 year and the business ran out of money. And after I was asking around to some of my colleague who has a lot more experiences in culinary business, they said that most culinary business will either last long and succeeded, or died about the first year.
It's not really advisable to take a loan to help a business that's trying to survive. It's only good to take a loan when you're into expansion and your business is already profitable. The #3, in the form of a ponzi and pyramid scam.

Its existence has been there even before bitcoin has been made. When I was younger I was scammed by it once and I was naive not knowing that it's a typical scam.

This is like even your friends that have joined these ponzi's wouldn't care about you to be victimized by them just to get a commission and have their money back before the collapse.
