901  Other / Meta / Re: TalkImg.com - Image hosting for BitcoinTalk on: September 29, 2023, 12:01:06 AM
It's quite difficult, but I think you can provide the best solution so that it doesn't burden the server too much.
Alternatively, the uploader needs to make sure their image is not that large in the first place or re-save the image to reduce the size. I don't mind doing something like this if I need to upload images to the forum.
902  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Trading bot on tradingview on: September 28, 2023, 11:40:33 PM
Traders are not only judged by how they trade, but the psychology of trading is the main reason why trading can lose and gain because psychology is very influential.
The final result is also determined by trading psychology.
If OP also believes that he lacks the judgment to execute his trading strategy, maybe using a bot is not a bad idea. Then again he told too little to make meaningful suggestions specific to his context. On the other hand, running a bot and understanding technical analysis is also different. He definitely needs more than just clicking a "run" button if he wants to use a bot.
How much better will a robot understand?  I don't think boter will work on your sense.  Bots can often invest in places where you are not interested in investing.  But then the matter will no longer be in your hands.
AFAIK most trading bots allow users to customize the settings. Unless OP uses a terrible bot on a terrible exchange, he should be able to set-up a cut-loss setting/trailing stop or something similar.
903  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: I have a project, I expect your support. You can be a partner. on: September 28, 2023, 02:00:12 AM
Really hard to persuade investors when you put so little info about your project. What's the name? How exactly will it work? What's the competitive advantage compared to other products if there is any? From what you've posted I see little to no reason for people to lend you their money.

Even if you can do a face-to-face meeting, how will it guarantee that you can pay their money back? Maybe build an MVP first before you start asking for investment. Even if you send an e-mail to a VC I doubt they will look at your project at the moment.
904  Bitcoin / Legal / Re: Is Bitcoin On It's Last? on: September 28, 2023, 01:16:04 AM
Let's forget the noise people are making out there, those who bought at high price or those who sold due to panicking/fear, the thing is if you understand the technology you would know that the next bull is coming and now is a great time to think about jumping in the market.
We can't really dismiss the issue though. Buying at the top is absolutely devastating regardless of what asset you buy. I do agree that Bitcoin will bounce back but people should prepare themselves if they plan to invest and not use it as a currency.

Like who wouldn't want to rank up? Wasn't expecting what you said, but thanks but no thanks. I guess your presence do add much value, humans.
No need to take everything personally. His point is basically to improve your topics if you want to get noticed by other users and get merits to increase your rank. A topic like this usually ends up in the trash can since the discussion gets boring quickly. Besides, you make it on the Legal board which is not really the best place to post it, Do try to make it better, everyone starts from 0. Good luck.
905  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Cashing Out Thousands of Bitcoin on: September 28, 2023, 12:58:34 AM
1. I don't think they are available in my region. That being said, liquidating everything at once is impossible regardless of what exchange you use. The highest withdrawal amount that I can do at the moment is around $15k per day without submitting any documents. Probably higher if I want to get into trouble with the government.
2. Not sure how the ultra-wealthy do it, but if they live in my country there is no way they can cash out all at once as mentioned above. I doubt they want to sell them all at once in the first place.
3. That is likely even though my government tax agent is not as 'evil' as the IRS. I'm pretty sure most of wealthy users can get away after paying some tax and providing some documents though. The only way to avoid it is simply don't do it. You're just exposing yourself for no reason.
906  Bitcoin / Legal / Re: Legal Action Against Ben Armstrong on: September 28, 2023, 12:20:08 AM
In general, whether the reason for expulsion was excessive addiction or involvement in a suspicious relationship with the FTX exchange, this person deserves the expulsion and suspension that led to his situation. At least he will pay a price (even if a little) for the losses he caused to investors because of his chitcoins.
He's been promoting many scams in the past IIRC. It is kinda wild that it took this long until he got arrested, on livestream too. I don't think anyone familiar with the altcoin market thinks he is a good guy. Pump and dump aside his track record is really terrible. I won't be surprised if he paid people to follow or hype him up throughout the years. I heard he has more than 10 million on XRP but still asks for a donation (CMIIW). Hopefully, he'll pay enough to stop him from pulling some tricks when he gets released.
907  Economy / Service Announcements / Re: We Pay APP as Launch in Google Store on: September 27, 2023, 01:31:43 AM
I've checked your website and you claims that the app has been downloaded 1k times or used by 1k users, but your Play Store statistic don't show the same thing. Where do the stats come from? Is there a beta app or something? Personally, I don't feel comfortable using an app from a developer that use fake apps.
908  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Change e-mail in MERCATOX long wait no results on: September 27, 2023, 01:08:54 AM
What steps can I take to recover my funds, given their less-than-ideal treatment of their users?
I don't think we can help you directly. Maybe the only thing you can do is make noise on social media. I've seen similar threads about the same issue, not limited to Mercatox, and most of the time OP can only make threads on Reddit or Twitter. You can request help from popular accounts although the chance to get their notice is quite low. You can also try to make a scam accusation if the service you used has a presence on this forum, but if they don't give a damn about it then it can't be helped.
909  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Mixin Network hacked - $200 Million lost on: September 27, 2023, 12:57:06 AM
He went on to say that as for the other 50% of their funds, mixin network is going to issue "bonds tokens" for the customers to claim, and the platform would repurchase it from them in the future.
I wonder how long the platform will stay afloat until every token is purchased back. How would they ensure that nobody is abusing it by buying them cheaply from the P2P market or just hacking the smart contract? Seeing how they lost their money it doesn't give any confidence at all. It is really surprising how a platform that holds a hundred million dollars of money doesn't have a good security mechanism to protect its funds.
910  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Bybit expects to exit UK market on: September 27, 2023, 12:24:15 AM
In a somewhat related news, big UK bank Chase decided to block all crypto related payments, confirming what we already know that atmosphere there is far from ideal for crypto enthusiasts.
I believe the key reason is that they don't want to get into a debate with their customers to compensate for their lost funds. At least they are quite explicit about it. I can see their point, but it is kind of weird that they don't apply the same thing to fiat scams. Are scams that different there?

They do cite some reports that crypto scams increase quickly in the UK. If this is one of the reasons why the law becomes stricter and pushes exchanges away, one has to wonder whether this will encourage scammers to be more active through the "black market' or not. At the very least P2P should still be a good option regardless of how the law change. CMIIW.
911  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Notable apps that can accept BTC for premium subscription packages. on: September 27, 2023, 12:06:16 AM
You can sell your bitcoin and use fiat currency to pay those services. I don't think it is too much different from on chain transaction fee, trading fee. It will require some additional fee but not too much.
I believe convenience and to some extent, privacy, are the key reasons why you want to use Bitcoin or crypto instead of fiat. A fee is quite relative too, some services have a lot of fees when you use fiat. Personally, I find it cheaper to use crypto directly since the difference in the payment method for services that I use is around 5% or so. At the end of the day, I guess you can say it depends on what service you need too.
912  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: Meet AssetX - The future of asset markets 💸 on: September 26, 2023, 01:56:17 AM
Platform is a DAO, It will be owned by the people so we do belong here.
-snip-
If we hide who we are, we can’t be sure who the seller is (or what they are selling). This kind of model will never succeed.
How does the DAO model work though? How would you manage the data from the people that use your platform? Will the 'owner' have access to it, or if not, how far can they affect your project? Do they also have a say on what regulation the platform needs to follow? It sounds a bit contradictory when you want to follow regulations but claim your platform is decentralized by nature.
913  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: interesting article: Pay-to-use blockchains will never achieve mass adoption on: September 26, 2023, 01:35:02 AM
The author seems to see blockchain as a service similar to social media. That is inherently flawed. It would be a disaster if anyone could make transactions, while social media by nature needs people to visit them to function properly. Besides, what kind of monetization is he referring to when he wants to remove the fees to make transactions? Does he suggest blockchain projects sell their user data and collect their transaction history, basically becoming their own chain analysis project? That is insane. Might as well stick with fiat if people are fine with that.
914  Economy / Speculation / Re: After the bull-run plan. on: September 26, 2023, 01:03:42 AM
some want to just hold for long term, perhaps even skipping the selling during bull markets altogether.
I'd advise people not to do this. If my experience from two bull runs tells me anything, it is that holding your coins when the bull run is happening (especially near the end) is not a wise choice. I lose so many potential profits doing that. Sure, there is no way to exit at the perfect time, but making a plan to sell some of your cons when the bull run happens is better imo. Especially if you don't have that much capital to begin with.
915  Bitcoin / Legal / Re: UK House of Lords passes bill to seize stolen crypto on: September 26, 2023, 12:35:34 AM
I believe with this law, such things will happen and the stolen cryptos will be recovered to be refunded to the rightful owners. UK is leading the way! We must appreciate such effort.
In an ideal world that can be the case, but from how describe the law I don't think this is the thing that most people want. On the other hand, a clear law can also help people judge whether a law enforcement process is being abused or not, although I doubt this applies to the new law since there is no tool to monitor the process easily.

At the end of the day, I don't see how it can improve user's ability to recover their stolen funds from criminal activity. I can see why though, probably because the government doesn't want people to scam them too. But yeah, the best thing to do is be careful and prevent yourself from using scammy services or falling for a scam easily.
916  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Does layer 2 help? on: September 26, 2023, 12:01:38 AM
intended on using P2SH  or Bech32 SEGWIT because I am aware legacy addresses incure more fees .is it set to use layer 2 in default
Not sure what you mean by "set to use layer 2 by default" when you mentioned about address type. What do you know about layer 2 btw? Maybe you're mixing things up here. When people mention layer 2, most of them refer to things like Lightning Network, Liquid, etc. It has nothing to do with legacy address or Bech32. CMIIW.
Emangnya QRIS mendukung kripto gan?
918  Local / Topik Lainnya / Re: Apakah Anda merasa bahagia on: September 25, 2023, 01:01:42 AM

CMIIW.
920  Local / Bahasa Indonesia (Indonesian) / Re: [Q&A] Tanya Jawab Seputar Forum Disini/Ask about this forum here! on: September 25, 2023, 12:15:00 AM
