901  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Doesn't Maidsafe deprecate basically EVERYTHING? on: August 09, 2015, 11:58:26 AM
safecoin lost my interest at the bit where it said no bloat because safecoin confess its own storage...
in short.. they are just a upload website with a gimmicky way of having users access data to pretend to be decentralized..
its like saying to users its decentralized because all the users download a torrent program.. but all the seeds are on safecoins servers...
much like etherium and nxt are centralized coin holders pretending to be proper decentralized blockchains..
when will the world of the 1990's centralized mysql database lovers, ever learn..

i dont even understand why this is being blatently advertised on bitcoin/blockchain based forums.. when it has nothing to do with it

Are you serious? I don't think you understand how maidsafe works and what can beachieved with it to claim that. You really think this is offtopic? It's all crypto after all and related to my question (im comparing technologies).

read it.
no blocks...

and the data is not decentralised.. its like saying that banks are decentralised because although the data is not on users computers.. there is data on computers managed by different branches of a bank in different towns.. so maidsafe is just a offshoot of cloudhosting under the false pretense of being a linked to bitcoin technology..

if the only thing that you think links maidsafe to bitcoin is cryptography.. then we might aswell say banks are cryptographic money too as their data is also secured using encryption..

encryption is nothing new or special.. but if its not on a blockchain that anyone can be part of.. then its no different to centralized  services that have been around for ages.

but i am sorry to ruin your advertising campaign..

Huh... maidsafe is fully decentralized. Decentralization = not depending on a particular entity that hosts the sum of the parts of something. In this case, the sum of the parts is the maidsafe network and everything that is hosted under it, and every single computer is part of it, in a way, just like freenet. So you are saying freenet is not decentralized? because thats nonsense.
902  Bitcoin / Legal / Re: Australia Ready to Treat Bitcoin as a Regular Currency on: August 09, 2015, 11:56:24 AM
its a huge negative step for any crypto enthusiast, gov don't do such things for cryptos benefit.

bitcoin is just fast becoming a pseudo fiat, regulate it make it pointless is all gov plans.

I also don't like massive amounts of regulation in Bitcoin but ask yourself, how are the mainstream going to adopt Bitcoin if it's not under regulation from the goverment? Unfortunately it seems it cannot happen any other way.
903  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Can Bitcoin become the best technology ? on: August 09, 2015, 11:54:07 AM
This will become the best technology..

period.

Incidentally, I think the next big thing will be smart devices of everyday usage such as an oven that will be connected to the blockchain and use the generated heat by mining as a way to prepare your food. This may sound crazy now but who knows in the future.
904  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: I doubled my bitcoin in last 3 months. How do you make money(bitcoin) online? on: August 09, 2015, 11:52:00 AM
I simply don't. Sometimes I may invest in an altcoin I find interesting (Maidsafe) but that's about it. Im searching for ways to double my stack but I have no idea besides getting lucky with an alt. I have tried into p2p loans but everyone seems to be getting scammed. How do you do the loaning part?
905  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin Cannot Be Deleted on: August 09, 2015, 11:42:08 AM
yup there are some uncontrollable things, Like solar flares which could fry the grid system for 4 years. So In that case the bitcoin will surely suffer, Anything like the revolution happens it would mean end of bitcoin, But when the electricity returns it would be back to normal.

There is another way to delete bitcoin too, Governments buy or hack the wallets and change the pass etc it would mean that bitcoin is dead too because governments will be controlling it and we will have zero or very little amount to play with.
All those scenarios are absurd. If the whole electricity of the planet goes off your least of your worries will be bitcoin because the entire civilization will likely go on a catastrophic phase.
906  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin is crashing. Why? :( on: August 09, 2015, 11:20:44 AM
The marketcap is tiny and there are people holding tons of coins manipulating the market at will. We can't do anything about this unless a whale wants to fight back and create bull pressure, since we are still far from mainstream adoption that's all we can hope for.
907  Economy / Speculation / Re: The panic selling has begun on: August 08, 2015, 01:58:48 PM
I think it's a mixture of news, the Karpeles thing, the Bitifinex thing (not sure what happened), the Brainwallet hack, the Bitlicense thing (even tho this is not really a problem, business just move to other places).

Use "Report to moderator" button like others do.
Right, but by making a thread you bring special attention, because this case is specially annoying. I wonder if this is an actual bot? he's back at it nonstop:

909  Economy / Speculation / Re: Multiplying the price by 10 after each halving, is it right ? on: August 08, 2015, 01:39:33 PM

People will make the price go higher than the last ATH this time. This is a law in stocks: Once a psychological barrier is crossed twice (specially the iconic 1.000 USD one) everything is possible.

Even more accounts being created, he's outright flooding the forum now:

This is pretty funny actually. Why are newbies able to post in the speculation section? When I joined like a year ago, you needed like 14 activity points before you could post outside the newbie section. This is a good idea to contain trolls.
911  Economy / Speculation / Re: You all know it's going to crash? on: August 08, 2015, 01:34:17 PM
I hate being right.  Cheesy

You've never been right. You are the same idiot that screamed "it's crashing dump" everytime brk-a went down. You are the idiot that would have sold in 1996.5

Again, in 10 years you will NOT be here posting under your same account because you'll be too ashamed to look back at your posting history: This is a fact.

This idiot is creating accounts constantly everytime the price goes down 10 dollars to scream for the apocalypse. You should hire someone that monitors the speculation section to insta ban him everytime (it's so obvious when it's him beside his random nickname).
913  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin Will Never Go To "Free" on: August 08, 2015, 01:27:28 PM
Actually it's not ad infinitum. By 2140 there will be no more rewards in terms of new mined coins, all the rewards will come from transaction processing. But yes you are right for the rest of the post. Just wanted to make this nerd appreciation.
914  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin will never reach $20 again on: August 08, 2015, 12:57:37 PM
Daily reminder for the panic selling idiots. You = OP in the future if you panic sell. That's how it goes. Don't say later not enough people warned you.
915  Economy / Speculation / Re: There is a chance to see $380+ soon [With charts] on: August 07, 2015, 03:14:09 PM
Hey all,

I've saw this chart on TV by BuyBitcoins and my gut says that it may happen, why not  Grin

The wave pattern is called "Descending Triangle Wave Pattern"

What do you think ?

If you will notice, a descending triangle has a flat horizontal lower bound. This has an ascending lower boundary so it's considered a symmetrical triangle.

But yes, there is a very good chance this is a triangle. However, I don't know how he came up with $380 as his target. That would be a 100% extension of the rise we've already seen. If this is a wave 4 triangle, then the target would be lower than that.
Using typical triangle thrust targets, I expect the area of the blue box as the target.

This is assuming this lopsided triangle is complete at this time.

The lower bound is not angled enough to be a clear full blown symmetrical triangle, so this angle could indicate that there are big % of a descending triangle wave pattern behavior, who knows what will happen tho, time to take some risks if you want to short. Im holding anyway.
916  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin 10k when? on: August 07, 2015, 03:11:21 PM
Not anytime close, that's for sure. And I wouldn't want to increase the number that high. I man it's good for short term profit, yes. But it's bad for long term establishment.

Well, something seems clear to me, we will not reach mainstream status without a couple more bubble and burst cycles, continued growth in a stable fashion is impossible, bitcoin is too revolutionary and disruptive, it will trigger people's panic a lot of times, both up and down.
917  Economy / Speculation / Re: How will Ethereum's launch affect BTC's price? on: August 07, 2015, 03:08:43 PM
The devs have delayed Ethereum trading by another day.

Ethereum should have been trading a few hours ago because that's when it became possible to send coins to the exchanges. However, they asked all the exchanges to delay trading by 24 hours because they might have to roll back their blockchain. That hardly a slick, smooth start.

This is from Poloniex.

Ethereum deposits are delayed 24 hrs from 2015-08-07 03:50 UTC per dev request. The developers may rollback the chain up to 24 hours in case of an issue. As a result, the developers asked all exchanges to wait 5760 confirms (24 hours) to credit ETH deposits in case the chain is rolled back.Posted by OldManKidd at 2015-08-07 05:32:22

You guys still trust Poloniex? because they force you now to put your real name etc to withdraw and deposit. Will ETH be in any other places? i want a more anonymous exchange, why should they ask for name even if you only deal with cryptos and not fiat? its absurd.
918  Economy / Economics / Re: Greece needs wide debt relief to avoid permanent depression, thinktank warns on: August 07, 2015, 03:03:15 PM
They certainly won't get it. Greece has been a money sink for years, and is more of a burden on the EU than a helper, even when its economy was better. I'm not sure if I buy into this "permanent depression" buisness thought, I've always been under the impression that things can get at least slightly better.

greece is and will always be a money sink. tax payers are always the victim of the billions that the european union pump into greece. let greece fall, it will hurt at the beginning, but later were better off.

It doesn't take a think-tank of experts to concluded that this is indeed the case. The problem is, you can't leave you eurozone without a backup plan. I don't think Tsipras and their team are competent enough to leave the eurozone and survive for long at this point. They need to think about it before taking that drastic ultimate step.
919  Economy / Micro Earnings / Re: how much can you make weekly? on: August 07, 2015, 03:01:30 PM
Now I'm making 0.01btc a week by doing signature campaigns. Is there any way to increase my Bitcoin in a less time and I don't like scamming other people.
yes there is if you can offer people some skills that you might have , like if you know programing / coding / designing / writing and many more .... you could offer them your skills in return for some bitcoins
I'm not having any of these skills that you have listed.
BTW can you tell me some programming languages and which programming language is easiest and which is the toughest.
I'm an easy learner and grasper. So I can learn those.

I think there may be a big market in the future in Maidsafe and Ethereum apps. Maid uses RUST and Ethereum uses some sort of hybrid thing. Both languages are new and will require time for someone without previous experience.
920  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: [BUG] Satoshi Nakamoto moving his coins at this moment !!! on: August 07, 2015, 02:59:08 PM
How did this bug happen? I haven't seen any details by bc.i.

Somehow bc.i showed a fake tx. How? Whats the tx hex? Wat this signed properly? etc etc.. May questions.
I think they were sybil attacked. My idea of how they were attacked is as follow:

Somehow bc.i was disconnected from all of the nodes they had previously been connected to. Then an attacker proceeded to perform a sybil attack by attempting to make sure that bc.i's node was connected only to the attacking nodes. The attacker then created an orphan chain starting at block 1 and fed that to blockchain.info. Then they included several transactions which spent the early coins and made it seem as if Satoshi had moved his Bitcoin. Since many people use bc.i, they were tricked into thinking that Satoshi had moved his coins.

What I posted above is absolutely what happened, but is what I think is most likely to have happened.

I don't think so. It's not necessary to go through all that. My theory...

BC.i deals with a ton of tx's constantly. The problem seems to lie in their pushtx API. Polling a full node for every time transaction they receive a transaction is not feasible - it would be very slow. So, they must be implementing their own backend system for receiving these transactions. This API backend implementation is probably not doing all the checks it should be and ends up accepting invalid txs. /Theory
I haven't researched what happened in dept but my theory is someone random that's pretty smart accidentally (or willingly) found the exploit and used it to try to fake a panic sell by making people think Satoshi was about to dump his fortune.
