901  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: ETH buy now to be held early 2019 on: August 18, 2018, 03:13:41 PM
What will happen in 2019 if ethereum stay at the same price, or even  in the worst case scenario,  it decreases in price.  I think ethereum is a good altcoin but many competing project are coming up and ethereum must solve it's issue in other to remain the preferred!

I don't think any other projects are anywhere close to reaching the dominance of ethereum.  The daily volumes of the top 2 coins today:  1. Bitcoin:  $4,331,087,995   Ethereum:  $1,847,463,364
Besides bitcoin, no other crypto comes close to the daily trading volume of ETH.   This shows how widely it is used.
902  Economy / Economics / Re: how to help people who have problem economic on: August 18, 2018, 03:02:41 PM
hello member of the bitcoin forum, Smiley
I'm confused and looking for answers about how to help people who are having economic problems,

are there any of us in this forum who have a good heart to help the economy of fellow human beings,

can opening new jobs reduce unemployment and improve the economy?

Introducing cryptocurrency to our fellowmen is a big help to those people who are having an economic problems. With this knowledge they joined bounty campaigns to earn profit without investing money. Efforts and time is all you need.

Tell that to the people who invested in January and are down 80-90%.  This past year crypto has only made the economic situation of people worse.

Not everyone can have a good job, it just doesn't work like that. Life is like a game of musical chairs and there will always be people without a chair to sit on.  There has been  a lot of discussion about a Universal Basic Income recently that would alleviate most problems of the poor.
903  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Beginner's Luck on: August 18, 2018, 02:49:20 PM
I experienced the opposite of beginner's luck when I first started.  Almost every bet at the start I ended up losing.  I still had a fun time anyways so the experience was worth it and I gained a lot of knowledge about gambling.  I'm not a superstitious person but I know a lot of people believe in things like this or carrying a lucky charm with them.
904  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Are you holding EOS? on: August 18, 2018, 02:39:58 PM
EOS is the only one coin which I would like to buy in the next future. I thought that I have missed the train, but thanks to the bear market I can buy EOS for very good price. So I am waiting for another huge dump and then I will surely buy some EOS. Because EOS is doing very good job, more than 3000TPS. Woow!

I'm not a fan of EOS, I wouldn't touch this coin at all.  It's easy to have high transactions per second when you lack decentralization.  EOS is super centralized , the block producers hold all the power and they can block wallets whenever they want.  This goes against everything bitcoin stands for.
905  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin First Billionaire: Winklevoss Twins on: August 18, 2018, 02:32:12 PM
I wonder how many bitcoins the Winklevoss twins have already sold off from their giant stash.  They could end up being two of the richest people in the world if bitcoin really does hit 500k levels.

I'm sure there are a lot of other secret whales that are holding 100k + bitcoin on multiple addresses but they are staying out of the public spotlight.
906  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Is technical analysis vital? on: August 17, 2018, 12:59:52 PM
It's extremely difficult to apply technical analysis to crypto markets.  The cryptocurrency market does not correlate with the stock market trends.  This market is highly manipulated by whales so a lot of the swings don't make any technical sense.   I know its cliche, but the best investment strategy for 95% of people is to simply buy and hold.
907  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: To survive the bear market I am chainging my strategy on: August 17, 2018, 12:51:26 PM
If your using this money to pay your bills and food why not just get a regular job?  Unless your economy is like Venezuela you would be much better working a normal stable job in the real world.  Crypto has a lot of luck involved so the risk may be worth it but you will most likely end up in a dire situation.
908  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: List of popular Betting Strategies on: August 17, 2018, 12:42:09 PM
The martingale system is one of the most famous betting strategies.  It's been mentioned in this thread but for those that don't know, this strategy involves doubling your bet every time you lose  It would work in theory but there are a lot of  conditions preventing it.  Casinos always have a betting maximum to prevent billionaires using this strategy to clean them out.
909  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Where should I keep my bitcoins? on: August 17, 2018, 12:33:35 PM
Always use a hardware wallet for safe storage and safe spending.  Trezor and Nano Ledger are the two most trusted wallets to use.  Never leave a large amount of cryptocurrency on exchanges because they have a high chance of being hacked because they are a really juicy target for thieves.

I would also set up some type of inheritance method to your family or loved ones in case of death.  Leave them instructions about how to access your cryptocurrency funds.
910  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: ETH worth buying now or wait? on: August 17, 2018, 12:25:28 PM
i was aiming eth to drops to 250$ but sad im not buying lol, then it recover
but yeah im still with another token now Grin

A lot of people got too greedy trying to buy in cheap.  Smart investors don't try to buy the bottom, what they do is cost average on the way down.  Always keep part of your potfolio in liquid fiat so you snatch up any great buying opportunities like the ones we have seen the past couple of weeks.
911  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Does hard work in gambling count? on: August 17, 2018, 12:15:36 PM
No one in this entire thread has even mentioned this!

It would be very hard work to analyze the numbers and find where the house doesn't have an edge.

This has happened before, even with the lottery. Purchasing a certain amount of tickets, if enough money was put in it, statistically returned more money.

The ROI was more than 15%

Here is the article: http://newsfeed.time.com/2012/08/07/how-mit-students-scammed-the-massachusetts-lottery-for-8-million/

Similarly, if you do hard work in baiting the casinos you can feed off the wasted money of other people. Go in there "to gamble" spend almost no money, try to find a game that returns most of your money, enjoy free services.... Leave

Rinse and repeat at another casino.....

Maybe you can just do math on how to beat their games while drinking free water and enjoying free AC and music and then go on your way.... You saved money on AC and accommodation, you beat the odds.

Basically you have to be a parasite...

Working hard to find out how to cheat also works.... If you could somehow rig the jackpot, that would be very hard work and the ROI would be ludicrous.

Any gambling business or casino that didn't have favorable odds would quickly go out of business.  I'm shocked that a lottery was actually in favor of the players in that case you posted.  In traditional gambling the house edge isn't that high but the government run lottery has absolutely terrible odds.
912  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What if someone bought up all the existing bitcoins? on: August 17, 2018, 12:04:26 PM
It would be nearly impossible to buy up all the existing bitcoins.  Excluding the lost bitcoins, the circulating supply is estimated to be somewhere in the 13-14 million range.  The richest known man in the world, Jeff Bezos , has enough wealth to buy all the bitcoins at market price but the problem is his buy orders would make the price skyrocket over 20k and he wouldn't be able to purchase all of them.

914  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Cryptocurrency Will Kill Cash ? Is this True on: August 13, 2018, 05:25:43 PM
Even if crypto gains mainstream adoption cash will still be around for a very long time.  Most of the older generation isn't interested in using cryptocurrency so they will continue to use cash.  Also, what about places with no internet and little technology? They will be using cash for daily transactions as well.
915  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Numbers speak louder then words! on: August 13, 2018, 05:17:08 PM
60% to 70% winners are waaay too above average, even for a great sports bettor.  If they really can make picks at those percentages they'd be better off betting for them themselves.  Unless their really that good at it and have been marked by the bookies...  But we don't see much of those.

These things are always scams, if anyone could accurately predict stock prices or sports matches they wouldn't just  sell the information for peanuts.  They would actually just use their "system" themselves and make huge sums of money without leaking the secret.
916  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What does Bitcoin protects people from ?? on: August 13, 2018, 05:10:37 PM
The best thing bitcoin protects us from is hyperinflation.  Bitcoin has parameters set on the inflation rate and it will gradually decrease overtime.  Governments and bankers rob us of our purchasing power by printing money digitally with fractional lending.  I know the bitcoin inflation rate is still high at 3% but it will be dropping soon.

The other thing bitcoin protects us from is government seizures.  The government will not be able to freeze your assets if you hold your wealth in bitcoin.
917  Economy / Economics / Re: Evolution of Money on: August 13, 2018, 04:58:52 PM
Money can be almost anything, the main requirement is that people have faith in it.  Dollars aren't really backed by anything but the faith of the currency is what keeps it strong.  The more faith people put in bitcoin then it will reach a higher price.  Gold is impractical in modern times because it is a hassle to carry around.
918  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2019 NBA Pre-Season on: August 13, 2018, 04:49:14 PM
Can't believe the new NBA season is almost here already.  I'm really curious how long Lebron can keep up his elite level of play considering how old he is.  It's extremely impressive how many games James had played without any serious injuries coming straight out of high school to the NBA at 18 years old.  He is one of the most durable players the league has ever seen.

He is a freak of nature. Lets look at the 2003 NBA draft batch:

    1    LeBron James
   2    Darko Miličić
   3    Carmelo Anthony
   4    Chris Bosh
   5    Dwyane Wade
   6    Chris Kaman
   7    Kirk Hinrich
    8    T. J. Ford
   9    Michael Sweetney
   10    Jarvis Hayes

We can clearly see that most of the players there are gone or never heard and didn't last that long. And those who have the same staying power as Lebron, their games have dramatically suffered. And the last time we see someone goes to NBA right out of high school is... wait for it.... Kwame Brown (2001).... Grin

The pistons really screwed that draft up.  They could of selected Bosh, Wade, or Melo and became a dynasty.  There is no reason the Pistons couldn't have won 3-4 rings with one of those players added to that legendary defensive squad.  Since those Pistons teams were heavily defense oriented Wade/Melo/Bosh would of gave them an enormous offensive boost.
919  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Top 3 altcoins to invest in NOW on: August 13, 2018, 04:40:19 PM
Only stick with coins in the top 10 if you want to be safe.  It looks like most of these other alts will never recover and they will most likely die within a few years.  Most investors have abandoned these side projects and put their money back into bitcoin.
920  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Lost Bitcoins on: August 13, 2018, 04:35:05 PM
Hello guys, in 2009 I saved some btc in one of the software promos where satoshi nakamoto sent them directly, do any of you know the name of that software or where can I find it?

Are you trolling? I highly doubt someone that was involved with bitcoin in 2009 would be sporting a scammy airdrop signature for money. Come on don't waste everyone's valuable time here.
