9021  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: Poswallet.com security breach on: August 17, 2017, 02:43:33 PM
Sounds like a big blow to poswallet. I checked the site after I saw this... I think the worst "PR" for a wallet is to announce that they were hacked. I read more about them, and in fact they are launching new versions with Ledger promotions. And now asking everyone to withdraw all coins.

9.8 BTC is a lot but for wallet and exchange is nothing. Now everyone will withdraw and panic.
9022  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Marketplace (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] 🔥🔥🔥PYRAMIDUM🔥🔥🔥 Buy scam and make money! on: August 17, 2017, 02:25:24 PM
Oh these must be the inspiration taken from UselessEthereumToken (UET) ICO and UselessWavesToken (UWT). Except this is no waiting for token for listing, just buy and sell.

At Pyramidum: It does not make sense... If I buy 1 ETH, token go up. But if I sell it how can I get more than 1 ETH? And why using using smart contract?
9023  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Marketplace (Altcoins) / Re: 🔥🔥 Satoshi Arbitrage - Revolutionary Investment Fund! - 30%+ Per Month! 🔥🔥 on: August 17, 2017, 02:08:50 PM
Hi. This is a new idea for me, never heard it for crypto sportsbooks. Which as you know, don't have very good odds. I am surprised you can still find them.

To share,,, Why not directly take individual investor to do direct sports bet arbitrage? Again, if you must do ICO - you spend already and start at loss. Can you guarantee you hold 45% for 6 months, escrow? Better you release 45% slowly, or even burn half as release happens.
9024  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: 🚀🚀🚀🗳 The New Era of Pump and Dump shittycoins Starting HERE🗳 🚀🚀🚀 on: August 17, 2017, 06:24:38 AM
Phew, I thought XEL was really heading to a crash but luckily stayed somehow around the 25% losses I marked after 24 hours. Anyway, speaking of claims and titles, maybe OP should either change the title of the thread from "New Era of Pump and Dump shittycoins" and just lock it. I think this thread is just like any other now.
9025  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Marketplace (Altcoins) / Re: 30 Seconds to Win 1 ETH on: August 17, 2017, 06:15:25 AM
Thank you for this survey opportunity. I think we all really need a lot of researchers to study and learn more about crypto while it is still new. Hope you can share the results one day. Lots of people post research here I think when I see old threads. But not many come back to share results.

Also, to people concerned, email is not necessary, you just leave it blank,,,like me.
9026  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Binance: $BNB The Future of Exchanges. on: August 16, 2017, 02:23:36 PM
Honestly, the more exchanges out there, the better for everyone. Spread the volume around, and give better options and let traders spread their bankrolls around. This maybe reduces risk of MtGox and force the bigger exchanges to finally improve on their very crappy customer service. Win-win situation.
9027  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][ICO] Dmarket - the worlds first decentralized, cross-game marketplace. on: August 16, 2017, 10:26:25 AM
What is the difference between Dmarket and Skincoin ? They both look same.
The guys are trying to run a cryptocurrency startup where it isn’t needed. Everything is working just fine. There are a lot of similar projects aiming to attract attention and investment by juggling such buzzwords as "cryptocurrency," "blockchain," and "eSports."
By creating DMarket, we are solving a different issue. We are founding an ecosystem for trading in-game items from any game and any gaming platform. More than two million gamers will be able to buy, exchange and estimate the cost of their items. Without blockchains, we at DMarket wouldn’t be able to connect thousands of game developers and millions of gaming universes worldwide. This is a brand new cluster of the world economy. Every gamer will become an owner of real assets!

When I think about all the hundreds of hours (actually,,, I think even thousands) I used to spend on games years ago to collect items and cash and awards, I get so depressed. I do not even remember any of those user names or passwords. This kind of system would be awesome for people who one day decide to leave the games they play. They can enter DMarket, sell off everything and at least you get something for all the time you put into the game.
9028  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: GNT vs XEL on: August 16, 2017, 10:04:30 AM
I think XEL price growth is pure speculation.

Initially XEL was brilliant and could be integrated into so many other service like coins, think of an Ark smartbrige allowing users to use XEL through a shop by paying in Ark and the end user not requiring to hold XEL.

The great thing about XEL is that you input code and it spits out code, not need for fancy interfaces.

BUT

the drama with devs and the ICO funds really hurt the project.

in my understanding there are NO full time developers working on this project. This is a side project to their real day jobs. Dont take me wrong, they would want to go full time but there is no funding atm. It all comes from a community fund that has been gathered from contributions.

So i am not sure firstly if they are direct competitors to GNT but most importantly i dont think they have the funds to develop the product.

Ouf XEL. I first read about it in this forum, looked it up and sounded like a great buy but it turned out I entered at a coordinated pump so at the moment have lost 25% of BTC value already. However,,, XEL is a really promising project. Yes they had some crazy things going on with contributed money (they did not run any ICOs) but the best thing is that they have always gone on developing whether or not they had funds.

Remember a lot of Bitcoin people started off doing it without money and part time. And a lot still do.
9029  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: I just invested in DIMCOIN ICO on: August 16, 2017, 08:54:14 AM
I actually was looking at Dimcoin but for some reason failed to realise it had a bonus for XEM. Been putting off my new alt for so many weeks now. Is buying XEM and then using it to get Dimcoin going to be worth it? I'm roughly trying to calculate but it looks like I might lose close to 10% anyway after buying and then withdrawing from exchange. They are on final week of campaign now and looks like it's getting everything it's wanted now.
9030  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Rads (Radium): The Sleeping Giant. Current best investment of 2017 on: August 16, 2017, 07:09:34 AM
It's not been doing well these few days, in the pattern of almost every other BTC-traded alt out there. I'm still reluctant to get in at any new alt until it falls to below $4 dollars though. Buying at $5 and seeing it slip down just happened to many times for me. So, come on, FOMO noobs, sell me into the right price!
9031  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Will Bitcoin continuos uptrend kill off the Alt Market? on: August 15, 2017, 12:51:59 PM
I never ever could have imagined alts going this low against bitcoin again. Most of the gains during the big spring boom has been erased. Its unbelievable!

I feel you,,, I looked at how everything crypto rose when Bitcoin did just those few sunny months ago. I fully expected the same would happen but alts have not been able to keep up. They're now stagnant in value,,, while Bitcoin has almost doubled from the same period. BTC reigns supreme in the end! Maybe alts just have a yearly cycle.
9032  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: 🚀🚀🚀🗳 The New Era of Pump and Dump shittycoins Starting HERE🗳 🚀🚀🚀 on: August 15, 2017, 10:57:07 AM
Thank you for your comments OP. Yes, I took the XEL signal as a September buy. As you said, for beginners, buy on the advice and hold for 2 months. This is exactly me, a beginner. Anyway I enter to buy XEL at 20000+, just a bit higher than your buy in price. I saw it climb to 24000 but I just stuck to the advice of wait til September. Again, just because I was a beginner and trying to be disciplined.

I was disappointed now it is very low, but no problems. I will just wait and hold anyway. Maybe this will be my first ALT to hold. Lesson to self: no one to blame but myself, so no hard feelings.
9033  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Ripple is in major trouble on: August 15, 2017, 10:38:36 AM

I have no problem with XRP as a mean of payment. If people like it, fair enough.

I have a big problem with XRP as a store of value. A centralized coin where founders can release new coins at will offers no value in my view.

But who knows, people may find value in it and I may be wrong...

1) That's simply not true.  There is actual code to run a check on the maximum number of XRP on the network.  JoelKatz has explained these previously.
2) Even if it were true, that statement makes no sense from a critical thinking perspective.  A move to control the markets would just end up hurting themselves.

I do see the concern from the perspective of "uncapped" value but this has already seen a few coins disprove the theory, at least for the time being. I can see Dogecoin's inflationary model or even ETH for that matter. In a way, ETH centralisation offers a form of security for owners, who know that there are big whales with a lot of investment and interest. It instils confidence that they will not let the value go down too much. Like it or not, centralised currency will try to influence markets at some point.
9034  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Rads (Radium): The Sleeping Giant. Current best investment of 2017 on: August 15, 2017, 08:58:32 AM
It looks like there's a difference between Project Radium and Radium Core. The core blog is very active - https://blog.radiumcore.org/

Also, frequency of GitHub commits is a common misnomer. If you take a peek at their development process (https://github.com/RadiumCore/Radium), you can see that developers don't commit directly to the core repo:

Quote
Developers work in their own trees, then submit pull requests when they think their feature or bug fix is ready.

The patch will be accepted if there is broad consensus that it is a good thing. Developers should expect to rework and resubmit patches if they don't match the project's coding conventions (see coding.txt) or are controversial.

Edit: Also looks like https://radiumcore.org/ is down. I definitely was able to visit this yesterday. dbt1033 you killed their site with new traffic  Grin

The more I think about it, the more I think "activity" is less and less important in judging a project's crypto performance in terms of price. If anything can be learned, it seems that the devs who quietly work behind the scenes and post regular updates are the ones building strong products. Their linked crypto seldom follows the trend in price though.

Then there are those devs who talk a lot and work hard to chat with community, encouraging listing on exchanges and actively engaging in pumps.

There is no fixed rule for crypto.
9035  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Will Bitcoin continuos uptrend kill off the Alt Market? on: August 14, 2017, 03:42:31 PM
Bitcoin market dominance is at nearly 50% now Shocked

If dominance gets higher then surely Alts will suffer and slowly die

Tell me why alts are "suffering" when they are almost all enjoying growth in price? Unless you bought alts in BTC, in which case you are trading, then yes, you may be making nett BTC losses. But convert that all back to fiat and you won't have lost as much. If that means alts are slowly dying, then it just makes a stronger case for alts: stop relying on BTC and make your own space in the crypto world.

Congratulations to alts that are not only traded in BTC.
9036  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Marketplace (Altcoins) / Re: Sell 150 minexcoin for 0.3 BTC on: August 14, 2017, 11:57:38 AM
There is another seller on this forum selling it for 0.0013 EACH now,,, so obviously OP is going to have to match that offer. And even offer even lower since he is selling 150. I might be interested in something like this. Obviously it will be in some form of slump from earlier problems.

But they tend to take off after a while. Right about now a fair price is not more than 0.001 BTC per minex.
9037  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Marketplace (Altcoins) / Re: Bitcoin Talk Signatures Needed on: August 14, 2017, 11:15:11 AM
How about you do this first,,, get your whitepaper written by yourself first. Then you get it looked over by professionals for edits and cleaning up. Not asking people to write it for you. Then you calculate the time and money you want to raise. Then you look at what kind of platform you want to use.

Don't start backwards. Get the idea all together. Then you look for people to manage signature campaigns etc. Promotion of the idea. Not just another random ICO please!
9038  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: 🚀🚀🚀🗳 The New Era of Pump and Dump shittycoins Starting HERE🗳 🚀🚀🚀 on: August 14, 2017, 10:53:02 AM

Trading depends..

I'm not going to use this strategy of buying coins and hold them for years. I like day trading.

If you have no time or you are new at crypto, yes buy it and forget it if you like medium risk investment.

For more lower risk choose 3 to 4 Coins to invest on and forget.

You better read all this thread to start.

Thanks for replying. I hope you saw my answer was valid. Because I understand you buy and sell and change your mind for a lot of short trades. But with XEL, you mentioned buy and hold til September. So I thought, okay, this is a weeks strategy. Good. I bought and thought I would wait for September. You said, people who sell now have weak hands. Just wait and see.

But you suddenly sell, and I look so I should sell but it's too late. I got dumped on,,, just like any other thread, which you said you wanted to change.

In the end, nothing different. I still got screwed. Not blaming you don't worry. But just be careful with your claims.
9039  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Are top altcoins in a long term downtrend vs bitcoin? on: August 14, 2017, 10:48:54 AM
I think is much more coin by coin depending that a global alt trend.

Like ETH, WAVES and NEO have a bigger chance to grow due real case usages.
BCH still may grow if somebody starts accepting it in a real life.
Other coins will be roller-coasting for speculations.

ETH okay I can believe it has more real case usages. But seriously, take away all the tokens for exchanges and ICO and you don't really have much. For me Bitcoin is still the only coin that has "real case" usage. People get paid salaries in real life with Bitcoins, people buy coffee and pizza with bitcoins, people buy books and even computers with BTC. But ETH? If there is, I don't know much about it. And WAVES and NEO? Where are their merchants?
9040  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Bytom - Thoughts and ideas.. on: August 14, 2017, 08:17:34 AM
Thank you for sharing. I have never heard of these Chinese tokens, until recently, when reading threads on this forums. The problem is most of their ICOs or even announcements are probably not even done here, am I correct?

Bytom looks pretty "okay" from what I can see,,, I wish I could read the inner forums to find out what their devs are updating cause this will be the real points.
