921  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ⚽ Football Transfers Speculation, Odds and Predictions on: July 03, 2023, 09:48:04 AM
What? Osimhen's market value is 122 Million Euros, Chelsea bid less than what's the real value of Osimhen and Chelsea is nothing compared to other big clubs. Even Chelsea bid higher rate like 150 Million Pounds, I believe Osimhen would choose to move to Real Madrid as long as Real Madrid could pay what Napoli's want or less than Chelsea's offer.

I'd say Osimhen would high likely to replace Benzema rather than Harry Kane because Tottenham's management not willing to let kane to leave.

I don't think if Real Madrid will even pay 100m for Victor Osimhen because we know Tottenham wants 100m for Kane and if Real Madrid wanted to buy any other forward other than Mbappe they could go for Harry Kane with a lower price who is more experienced in top teams, that's why Osimhen doesn't get any official offers because the high price they have to pay for him.
Regardless of the conditions, where Tottenham seemed reluctant to let Harry Kane go. I think Osimhen is more suitable for Real Madrid than Harry Kane. We all know that Kane is no longer young, so that there is a possibility that Kane will have difficulty adapting because the Premier League and La Liga have very different styles of play. While Osimhen is a young player and it could be a good investment for Real Madrid. But the issue of price is really going to be a hindrance because of all the strikers targeted by Real Madrid it has a very high value.

I think that it is easier for a Premier League player to prevail in La Liga than a La Liga player to prevail in the Premier League. Age is worth a consideration here, I agree. But price is also important as Kane is the better deal in terms of statistics as I think it is safe to say that he will keep scoring high numbers if he doesn't get any health problems, but for how long will he be able to stay at that level? In contrast, Osimhen hasn't reached the numbers of Kane yet, but is a lot younger. Both transfers come with a risk and that risk is mainly rooted in the price the clubs ask for these two players.
Both Osimhen and Kane are good for Madrid job but I feel that Real Madrid should align more with the younger one. They already have issues replacing Benzema. When they get Kane, they might likely have same issues with replacing Kane after about 2 seasons or more.
But with Victor Osimhen, they will have a longer run. But another consideration why Kane will be better is because of his age and experience. His presence in the middle of Madrid attack will perfectly full the role of Benzema. Vinicius and Rodrygo will not have any reason to contest with Kane but they can easily do with Osimhen.
922  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread 2023/2024 on: July 03, 2023, 09:31:25 AM
Aston Villa was one of the teams that was quite consistent last season where they closed the season in 7th place and were a participant in the European Conference League Qualification for next season. I think they were better than Tottenham last season. But so far I haven't seen any changes happening with them in this transfer window. So far only Youri Tielemans signing has been worked out by Aston villa and he was signed by Aston Villa on a free transfer. I think Unai Emery will try to bring in a few more players to add to their strength next season. One of their targets is Ferran Torres in this season's transfer window. I think if they get Torres most likely their front line will be stronger next season. What's more, Ferran Torres doesn't seem to be included in Xavi plans for next season so Aston villa can take advantage of this opportunity to bring in Torres. Apart from that, Newcastle is also in the team that wants to get Ferran Torres. I think these two teams will compete to get this bomber from Barcelona.
Aston Villa football club is an evidence that hiring a good coach could lead a club from an ordinary stage to a good stage. Comparing Aston Villa and Tottenham will show that when the season started newly, Tottenham had a better preparation and they also started the season very well by winning matches. But in the other hand, Aston Villa struggled right from the beginning, but could not make better waves. Towards the ending of the season, a new coach was hired by Aston Villa. The arrival of Emry changed many things in Aston Villa and today they are in European competition.

They may not have enough money to bring in star players, but at least they need some kind of reinforcement to enable them play both in the European level and in the England football level.
923  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: The exit plan on: July 03, 2023, 09:03:04 AM
~
What are your exit plan and what exit plan have you used that work well for you.
Just make it simple. Dollar Cost Averaging on selling is my plan.
Simplifying every thing for me gives me lesser stress. After all, that plan is working both on buying, and on selling.

How? Just put a target selling price where you are contented enough to sell all or a percentage of your holdings once it reaches that price. For me, my initial selling prices are $70,000, $85,000, and $100,000 for Bitcoin. I think I'll be contented enough to sell my holdings once it reaches that price. Of course I will keep some Bitcoins as well for long term, but once the bull run starts, I will be patiently waiting for that price to be reached the I will sell.

I admire your exit plan and its unique. It is a refined version of my exit plan. I had always decided that immediately there is a new ATH, I'll exit the market and wait for another cycle. But I recieved an advice from the trading board which suggested that I shouldn't exit the market immediately there is ATH.
This is because the market may keep trending upwards and I will simply die in regrets.

The adviser said I should exit the market in percentages, let's say at 70k I withdrawal 30%, and 80k, I withdraw 50% and then I can exit finally at 100k.
This is exactly what you have said here.
924  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Which one of this is important most? on: July 03, 2023, 08:28:21 AM
so it keeps me wondering about merits and reputation which one of this is more important in the forum?.
I do not understand your write up very well but it seems you have already taken side that reputation is more important in the forum than merits. You may be correct but I have these to say based on your question.
  • Reputation and merits complement each other
  • Every reputable members of this forum has good amount of merits
  • But it is not everyone with good number of merits is reputable
  • So, it easier to chase merits and get them than to chase reputation which is more related to trust.
925  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin will fall or rise? $30400 the recent price on: July 02, 2023, 10:43:45 AM
Not sure expectation of the SEC is ever bullish, I hope there are better reasons for recovery in the price or I might never be bullish on gaining from here.  30k could be the final price no further upwards, I dont find it too negatively personally.

I am seeing the support at 30k being strengthened in the coming days. Bitcoin sideways movements shows consolidation and it is for upward trend and not the reverse. However, the external influence (SEC) is very much at the neck of bitcoin and is greatly impacting it this time around.
Anyone entering the market should be mindful of the fundamental between SEC and exchanges.

I am rather optimistic of upward movement rather than downwards if SEC is to be positive.
926  Economy / Economics / Re: Should I Use Emergency funds or Sell my Assets ? on: July 02, 2023, 10:19:59 AM
I reluctantly followed the counsel of a financial advisor to fix my finances in order by creating a budget and tracking my expenses, inflow and outflow of cash using an excel sheet. The economy has been crazy in my country so I needed to do something urgently. My greatest realization after this is that inflation all round is destroying my budget. It's been  five months now. I am torn between using my emergency funds or selling some of my assets to cushion the effect of this economic situation. What do you suggest I do?
I simply believe that an emergency fund should be kept only for an emergency. Inflation in your country, which is also a global inflation cannot be said to be an emergency.
The second option which is to sell some of your assets might be preferable. But then you should not sell what you think that will worth more in the future.

There are some assets which we have at home that e do not have very severe need of but we keep them for decoration and maybe you for aesthetics purposes.
If you have such assets, you can sell them and reinvest the found, while having money to also sustain yourself and your family. Keep the emergency fund strictly for emergency.
927  Economy / Economics / Re: Bad impact when You carry out Online or Offline Loans on an ongoing basis on: July 02, 2023, 10:07:41 AM
maybe many people are taking loans online or offline for various urgent reasons, but keep in mind that the habit of making loans will only get you entangled with what is called eternal debt and the possibility of getting addicted to making loans online or offline

Loans aren't bad, they can be very helpful when you're in tight corners but we should try o avoid taking loans because it can be as addictive as gambling. When you have an easy way out you won't put effort into what you're doing since you have a backup plan which is indebting yourself. Loans should only be taken when you know you want to invest the loan money into your business that'll generate profits to pay back the loans.

Taking a loan is not a bad idea, but it all depends on the reason you are willing to take the loan and the repayment patten. Some persons will want to execute a very huge project and there is no present resources to execute such a project. They will simply walk into the bank and get a loan to execute such project knowing so well that same project will bring some dividends to repay the loan.

While some people will just borrow for fashion purpose. Some will borrow to satisfy their gluttony. If one continues to borrow for every purpose which worth it and doesn't worth it, in the end, thy will be addicted to borrowing.
928  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: KYC propagation beyond my ownership on: July 01, 2023, 04:20:33 PM
I never think anything like that before, because if i do, i may be paranoid of using bitcoin for any transaction using an exchange or any crypto-related service that uses KYC. Also, I don't think it would be necessary in chainalysis to know the owner of the origin of every bitcoin/transaction since then where the bitcoin comes from, because if they do, you will not be considered as the first owner of that coin nor the exchange/service you buy from, it might came from other platform before the exchange so on and so forth.
This is very thoughtful of Op. I have never reasoned something of this nature and I also think that majority of the people in this forum have not also thought about this. But if this is the case, I'm beginning to be scared of centralized exchanges. One can actually be implicated for what they know not about.
No wonder someone like o_e_l_e_o use to emphasis on privacy every time you see him write.
929  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Don't be intimidated on: July 01, 2023, 01:53:36 PM
Dear newbies pls don't rush into making Bitcoin investments like selling a property very valuable to you just to impress on the forum

Do people actually make investments in order to impress the forum? I have thought about this and no wonder some people keep posting about their bitcoin achievements in the forum whether significant or not.
Does it really mean people are indirectly intimidated by what is happening here. Please no one should be intimidated by what is happening in the forum.
Investment is what happens due to a well researched decision and not because of what others are doing.
930  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Can the ban on smartphones curtail peer pressure? on: July 01, 2023, 01:06:28 PM
It's not funny at all, I agree with this good decision and see it as very positive for children.

I have two young children who play with mobile phones all hours of the day and they started accessing Facebook, YouTube, etc. and started learning things that I don't want them to learn at the moment.

It is true that in the end it is inevitable for them to see these things, but at least they have grown up a little and are beginning to realize the seriousness of these bad things.
This is a very good measure I must confess. I so much love this development. I have had this issue with my Nephew and I am even confused on how to solve it. I believe he is so innocent to start using a phone with internet connections. So,I bought him a tablet which only uses a hotspot connection and only when he is connected he will have access to internet.
He now tells me everyday about his mates that got mobile phones. So, not buying for him makes him feel inferior to his mates and that can also be called a peer pressure. It is just a two ways thing.
But, what was implemented in OP is the best thing.
931  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Why do you always think that a rich man's kids are the spoilt ones on: July 01, 2023, 12:55:44 PM
Sometimes the news always has it that a rich man's child is more split than a poor man's son, wrong home training, split with money, no hardship to understand the ways of life, always rude to this fellow mate because his father met to be a fucking rich man, yes I will say it is, these thoughts do cross my mind but still, I don't compare them together I will rather say we are all humans born by women so we are all one but the  difference is just the riches and wealth they have I would say even the poor kids to are also spoilt to.
I have a questions in mind to ask.
* why do some rich kids not realized that they are  spoiled??
* Do you think rich kids become spoiled and impoverished when growing up??
When your parents does not have good amount of money. There are some certain things you will not be exposed to.
The includes such as clubbing and other kind of social activities which will have needed some money to sponsor them.
And it is the rich kid that will have his money to sponsor this kind of activities and that is why they are the ones always into it.
Did children of the poor will only be where they will have a good food to eat and shelter and not some other things which we have to make them spend more. That is why they are not much exposed.
932  Local / Nigeria (Naija) / Re: This increment of Fuel price in Nigeria on: June 30, 2023, 09:24:37 AM
one thing I love about most Nigerians is that regardless of how difficult it is to survive in this country people always device means to survive.
This is both our blessing and our curse.

Marketers project N700/litre petrol
N700/litre will soon become the normal price, and we will be heading to N1000/litre maybe before this administration is over.

I just dey pity all those businesses wey dey depend on petrol and diesel powered generators to run their business, because they will really be running at loss and those that cannot adjust will be forced to close up.
It is happening already, for instance some bet9ja and bet King shops in my area are closing down.
This is because the betting business doesn't increase money and the odds are standard. The light situation in the area is not good, they run gen 24hrs and then they have no option than to close up for the main time.
Maybe they are planning that if the petrol price comes down they will resume and now the information of increment is on the rise.

All my friends are talking about cryptocurrencies, but I still can't wrap my head around it.

If you have any success stories you would like to share, I would be very grateful if I could benefit from them as well...
Welcome to the forum of possibilities!
Stop seeking for success stories, you have heard enough from your friends. This time you have to focus on learning and learn as much as you can and then you can know when to enter the market. There is always an opportunity in the cryptocurrency market. It is either bull or bear. When you meet the market at bear, you will join but when you meet at bull you wait till it is bear.

I don hear di news since yesterday, FG say everyone wey get motor go pay 1k annually. 935  Local / Nigeria (Naija) / Re: Can BTC or crypto users play politics in Nigeria? on: June 30, 2023, 08:01:40 AM
my question is this, can BTC or crypto users play politics in Nigeria by coming out for councilor or other political office and he or she is well know as BTC or crypto users?

Bitcoin users are not higher or lesser citizens in Nigeria and there is no where anyone aspiring to fit into any of the positions you listed above will declare whether they save their money or use fiat or Bitcoin.
In the other hand, Bitcoin dealers do not go around boasting that they are Bitcoin dealers. How then will you be able to identify who is a Bitcoin user or not.

Meanwhile, the Federal government has not banned Bitcoin usage in Nigeria, it is only the central bank that prohibits it's transactions with banks. That is the situation and not outright ban.
936  Other / Meta / Re: Is it allowed to post in English in a Local Section on: June 29, 2023, 08:18:01 AM
Recently I came across a query where I suggested that We cannot post in the "All English" language in a local board or it is not recommended at least.

Yes, i know that if the posts are a mixture of English & local language, then it is fine. Even if some posts are being done in pure English, they are ok but if a person has a post history where he only insists to speak in English on a local board, what do the rules of bitcointalk say in this regard?
It all depends on the nature of the local board. There are some local boards like mine (Nigeria) that uses pidgin (local English) and also uses English. The most important thing is that you are using a language that the majority or all the users in your locality can understand.
Bitcointalk is about freedom and no hard laws to indict anyone.
937  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Not Another Merit Question. Please Hear Me Out on: June 29, 2023, 07:51:56 AM

This question is directed to everyone, but particularly to those who belong to the esteemed 5k plus merit club. Did you ever set a merit goal for yourself, such as aiming for 2000 or 5000 merits by a certain point in time? Or did you simply remain an active member without explicitly considering merits, only to one day discover that your account had accumulated 5000 plus merits?
The merit system was created to do the following;
1. To fight spam
2. To rank up
3. It adds prestige to those who has bunch of it
4. It is also a measure of quality.
Everyone in this forum is conscious of the merits system, even those that has much already. I have seen threads where people keeps tracking progress of the high merit earners and they keep the race of banging more.
Op, just be conscious of merit but don't priotise it for your peace of mind.
938  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Earning online more preferable than offline? on: June 29, 2023, 07:37:33 AM
Earning money online is far superior to working at a physical establishment during the day. Although offline is highly appreciated and difficult. Trading is a great approach to find your true self. It will put everything to the test, including your greed, emotions, patience, discipline, how you handle failure, control, common sense, and resolve. I strongly advise anyone who is going through a terrible time in their life to learn to trade since it provides them a clear sense of purpose other than waiting for jobs. So, which is better, online or offline?
Online earning is not only crypto trading, but by online earning we can understand another field which is e-commerce site. If we talk about Jeff Bezos, he is the third richest person in the world. And he is the owner of Amazon. Today's age is digital age to survive in this age you have to be connected online on all platforms only then you can enter the global market it can be your personal skills like or it can be also your business. So to be successful you must be connected online.

As simple as your statement is, it is very much truth and factual. Even if you don't put it that if you want to be successful you must be connected online, you can say if you want to make money with ease, you have to be connected online.
There are very many things one can do online including the ones that requires high skills and the ones that doesn't require high skills. My simply copywriting, one is already earning online and for you to get equivalent pay offline, you will spend much more energy.
939  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ⚽ Football Transfers Speculation, Odds and Predictions on: June 28, 2023, 10:33:46 AM

I have come across with this news now. It looks like the source I looked into first wasn't telling the truth.  Grin  There is already an agreement for 40 million pounds and the deal is soon about to become official. This must be great news for Maddison and Tottenham both. Because Maddison won't have to compete in the Championship anymore.

For Tottenham it must be really nice to have an attacking midfielder. I mean he is going to be the only player whose main position is attacking midfield. Tottenham have been a team using various formations so I don't think Maddison would have any issue with having a place for himself in the lineup.

Besides he can play as a central midfielder and even on the left wing if there is need. Versatility is also a positive for both sides.
Players have their priorities and they make their choices but if I were Maddison, I would not want to involve with Tottenham now they are not playing in any Europe competitions. They are not also sure of going home with any trophy coming season. While we all solicit for Harry Kane to leave Tot for a trophy career, Maddison really wants to join him.

But it will be a good business for Tottenham if this happens. But who will score the goals since Kane is leaving?
940  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: UEFA Champions League 2023/24 Season on: June 28, 2023, 10:21:18 AM
Before window transfer is close, Manchester City has many chance for signing new player actually supported with much money and easy for Pep Guardiola filling hole position leaving by Gundogan and try to defend Champion League tittle for next season.
Money is one of the factors why Manchester City is quite successful in the transfer market but that's not the only factor, another factor that makes them successful in bringing in players and these players being successful in developing at City is the foresight of the manager to assess players who can really a mainstay in their squad, after several key players were about to leave City they were able to quickly replace the vacated spot with players who were younger and also of the same quality.
Manchester City doesn't seem to want to let go of any title they won last season, so with big money they are trying to achieve their target later.
Manchester city success is first because of money. No club develops from an average to a top class club without money. Money to buy quality players, money to hire a high profile coach. The success of Manchester City cannot be narrated without mentioning Guardiola. Assuming Manchester City had the money to spend and did not get the right manager, it would still be a problem for them.

Last season, Newcastle entered the journey of being a prominent club and we have seen the success do far. If they continue with this pace. In the next few seasons they will be great.
