921  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: HODLing Bitcoin isn't merely an "investment" on: May 03, 2023, 06:58:45 PM
Its not political, its financial. The whole genesis block talked about the banks being bailed out, exactly what is happening today! When politics are involved this is when you get mixed messages. Everything political today is now "fake news" news has been bought out, you can't buy out bitcoin though! Bitcoin is everything but political its a system designed to take politics out of the money picture, bitcoin is just pure potential IMO!

It definitely is political, but let me explain.
There are fractions within every government that don't care about bitcoin at all, but there are also those who are for or against it and make their stance public every time they're asked (or not).
Some good examples from the US are Elizabeth Warren and Warren Davidson, you can look them up online along with their opinions about bitcoin.

As time goes by, holding bitcoin will not only influence your voting, but it will become voting. If you decide to invest a lot of money into bitcoin, you will want to support politicians who try to make your life easier. As a politician, you will have to be aware that openly criticizing bitcoin will make you lose votes of people who hold it. The more bitcoiners there are the more votes you will be losing... or gaining, depending on your stance.

I would have nothing against EVs if the politicians weren't trying to force them down my throat. They obviously aren't as eco-friendly as they're being advertised.

when you coming back with the load of candies and other supplies, you find your new EV being completely consumed by flames because either you had a faulty battery or someone parked next did.

At least the groceries weren't inside. You have something to eat your sorrows away while you call your insurance company Cheesy

Why do you waste your time and the time of the manager if it's clearly written in the thread that minimum required amount of merit is 10?

925  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: BTCUSA.com is live!! 🔥 plz rate it from 1-10 🙏 on: May 01, 2023, 11:37:39 PM
That was fast. Great job!
Maybe in future you can strike a deal with some original authors to write articles for you. Some unique features like ATM radar or ads designed just for your site would also be great.
A chatbox could also work, maybe links to interesting videos, instructions how to self-custody, where to buy and how to set up your first hardware wallet.
I hope you won't abandon this project and keep adding to it.
926  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: May 01, 2023, 11:19:22 PM
I listened to a long P. mcCormick/Jeff Booth podcast ( https://www.whatbitcoindid.com/podcast/why-deflation-is-the-key-to-abundance ) and they were saying that even in nations with 100% yearly inflation, most of the populace still stays in the system and only a small % choose bitcoin.

Blame it on inertia, on being uninformed, etc., but it is a sad truth for now.
I watch them from time to time alongside Blockware, Swan and Simply bitcoin. Basically all the channels that are about bitcoin and finances, but not much about shitcoins.
The older generation still thinks bank is the safest place for your money and if you have to buy something it better be real estate because otherwise it's going to disappear.

nowadays not many people have savings and if they have some they just don't want to gamble with it. investing in whatever is like gambling for most people.

My parents have quite large savings but they don't understand investing and inflation. They lose 10% a year but don't notice it. If you made them buy bitcoin they'd be panicking over every 5% move down and telling me to sell it.

personally its close to a shift.

But I think shift is sept.

Maybe 0 in September and back to printing in December? I feel like the whole world knows they're going to shift and they're trying to make them wait as log as possible without crashing stocks in the process.
927  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: May 01, 2023, 06:38:33 PM
So one of the biggest trolls out there Jamie Dimon, who apparently is paid 35 million a year just to act like a buffoon on the Internet and spew lies about bitcoin is buying the dead bank.

The official reason for the purchase was to protect the industry and restore trust. How is the purchase of a bankrupt bank going to restore trust in the system? They are covering a dead guy with a blanket and saying it's all right, we'll take care of it, he's not dead, he's taking a nap!

Interesting piece by Reuters:
"I don’t believe this is similar to 2008 since that was a much more macro-leveraged situation around credit. I would note there have been 562 bank failures since 2001 or an average of 26 per year."
https://www.reuters.com/business/finance/jpmorgan-buys-first-republic-banks-assets-2023-05-01/

Don't worry folks, it's not that bad because we're losing 26 banks a year. Does it mean that if we lose JP Morgan it's not going to be a crisis as long as we stay below the yearly average?Cheesy
So, who's next?
928  Economy / Speculation / Re: $35,000-$37,000 for Bitcoin in 2023 as my peaking barrier, is breakout feasible? on: May 01, 2023, 06:20:40 PM
Often November - December is a pump for bitcoin and this is going to coincide with FED pivot, because they've said it themselves that it won't be possible for them to continue rate hikes in 2024. All assets will rally if they start printing and bitcoin is long overdue for its first bull market rally, which should take us at the very least above 50% of the ATH, so between 35k and 40k USD. I feel like if we haven't had all this external pressure from the FED, we'd be at 40k right now.

40k by the end of the year and 50k next year, if the bull run gets postponed to 2025 due to some unexpected negativity like a large market crash in US stocks. If all goes well we should be at a new ATH next year, probably between 100 and 120k.

929  Economy / Economics / Re: Bitcoin Supercycle? on: May 01, 2023, 06:10:25 PM
I've seen a couple of interesting takes on the matter from people involved in traditional finance and the essence was that these changes come like an avalanche. You see the heavy snow gathering for days and then it starts going down and everything is over in 1 minute, so yes we can go into a supercycle and the best part in all of it is that when we do, nobody is going to expect it. We'll reach an all time high, get a small correction, like 30% from the top, and people will start exiting like it's time for another bear market, 2 years of crashes ahead, let's sell, but a month later we'll have another ATH, then another one because when exchanges start running out of bitcoin every 1000 BTC purchase will mean an all time high.
I'm not sure if you've noticed but currently if you were able to dump 1% of all mined bitcoins on spot exchanges you'd crash the price by at least 20%. This can also happen in reverse.
930  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Russian Invasion of Ukraine[In Progress] on: April 28, 2023, 08:23:57 PM
Judging by this screenshot from the onboard camera of the loitering ammunition Lancet, the 'Gepard' guarding the S-300 was also damaged or eliminated.

There's a video of that hit, you can find it if you're interested, and the Gepard survived the attack. There was no fire and just a small explosion of the drone itself. Most likely fixable, which is why the Russian side only shows that screenshot everywhere. The damage looked like a hand grenade went off on that Gepard's armor.
The "Ivan" operating that drone must be stunned that German tanks don't turn into a flare when hit.

Meanwhile Russians are cooking inside their tanks as they try to escape Ukrainian forces. Notice the half-cooked Invader opening the hatch and escaping his oven at 0:40.

931  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Can Chat GTP destroy poker on-line gambling??? on: April 28, 2023, 07:04:14 PM
I think it can be trained and it can potentially be good at gambling for you, similar to the way much "dumber" trading bots work to make money on exchanges.

I advise you to read about the starcraft AI that was taught to play over the course of a a few months, by constantly being put against stronger and stronger opponents. At some point the AI formed strategies that worked best and continued to even alternate between them so that the opponents wouldn't be able to learn its style and predict its moves. Ultimately it was able to win against the best pro players in the world. If you can teach a bot to do that, surely you can teach it to play poker.
932  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Do you blame someone for your gambling losses? on: April 28, 2023, 12:36:52 PM
Could this be a case of making someone pay for what they didn't eat or a case of double standard.

It's a case of being in denial. This attitude is common among children, where you tell them that if they keep running like crazy they will fall and hurt themselves, but they ignore you, keep on running, until they fall and hit the floor. Then of course they cry, but when you ask what happened they say nothing. You ask about a lump on their forehead and they answer that there's nothing there, they weren't running and they did not fall. They know that they weren't listening and you were right, but they won't admit it.
The best part about it is that if you confront them they'll keep denying until you touch the lump and they feel the pain. Then they get their reality check and start crying again, because they know they can't hide the proof that they did this to themselves.

We all have our own ways of dealing with problems. Some will shut down, some will deny, some will get aggressive, some will run away. Such is life.

933  Economy / Economics / Re: marry rich: marry fiat rich or crypto rich, which is better? on: April 28, 2023, 12:29:36 PM
In life you have to be rich of something, or nobody want to marry to you, and have build a family with you, you would be foreveralone, and the media would constantly mogging you over and over again for being foreveralone to remain you. And your mum would constantly tell you if you don't get married nobody would take care of you when your aged. Nobody would make a tomb for you, and when you died you would go to afterlife with empty stomach and would suffer straving too in the afterlife. That must be a lot of hurt! ouch!

Who cares where I'll lie when I'm dead?  Surely not me. I see so many old people waste their time picking outfits for funerals, like it mattered how you look when they put you in the ground.
You can be with someone and not be married. I am, but it's not like I felt the need to do it. It was simply convenient for all the paperwork. When one of us gets sick we don't need permits to use each other's accounts and there's no problem with taking a child for holidays. When you're not married and have a child you have to establish legal custody and all that. As a married couple you both automatically get full rights.

Quote
So back to question. which is preferred? Married to fiat rich or crypto rich? Although crypto can be created at the comfort of your basement, also the value would plummet quickly to near zero too. Do you think in your life, you would ever see someone marry to crypto rich? e.

I feel like it doesn't mater. It's not something I'd care about when choosing a partner. Money can come and go, but the character remains. When your wife is a bitch, the richer she gets the more of a bitch she'll be. Money takes out the worst in people and pushes it to the surface.
As for going to zero, you cannot be talking about bitcoin here. If someone has shitcoins, anything can happen, but bitcoin is never going to 0.
934  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Where do I keep crypto after buying it? on: April 28, 2023, 12:04:40 PM
I've bought bitcoin from a broker at their office, used an ATM and of course an online exchange. If a broker has an office, just go there. Payments depend on where you're located. I don't know if they accept credit cards in Africa, for instance, but in the EU card payments are more common than cash. You can call them beforehand and ask what payment methods they accept.
My local broker accepts cash, cards, paypal, even traditional bank transfers, although in such case you need to pay more for instant transfer, or wire money a day before you come to the office.

If you're afraid something can go wrong, take a friend or a family member with you, so that you have a witness. I've never heard of a broker running away after being paid, but better be safe than sorry.

Check if there are ATMs somewhere near you. It works pretty much like a broker. You can install a phone wallet, scan the qr code in the ATH so you don't have to worry about making a mistake in the address and then you choose how much you want to buy, pay with your credit card and the coins are automatically sent to your address.

When you buy from a physical exchange, DEX, or an ATM they always send it to your own address. Only online exchanges like Coinbase, or Binance assign a custodial address to your account, but you can move your coins to your own wallet right after buying.

The exchanges are not regulated but they have a centralized which is similar to regulations. You can’t buy from them but do not leave it on them because they could encounter any problem like hack which will affect your funds.

This isn't English! After reading this shit 3 times I still don't understand what it means.
935  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: The madness of gambling addicts. on: April 27, 2023, 03:20:09 PM
The guy clearly is insane, but he's not the only one out there. There's a famous case of a guy who murdered his whole family, including 2 little girls, because he wanted to be free and start a new life.
Gambling can be one of the triggers, but it's not the most popular one.

Bottom line, there's a lot of insane people out there and many will kill you for your phone or whatever money you have in your pocket. Don't blame their actions on gambling. If they are insane they will steal and kill for whatever reason, gambling just happens to be there when they flip. Stay safe out there!
936  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: How do you stay updated on: April 27, 2023, 03:10:50 PM
How do you bet on such games? What are the things to be on the lookout for? Because I believe this is different from football ⚽, I also don't have access to satellite dish like my relative does, this is how he is able to get the best out of these sports.

I watch a lot of it, mostly on the Internet. If you're interested in UFC probably the best portal to read is sherdog.com, which is a site I've been checking out 15 years ago, when UFC was in its "early stages". I used to like MMA before I started betting on it and the first things that exposed me were videos of fights from the Internet. There wasn't even youtube back then so we were downloading these video compilations to see the fights. Apart from UFC we were downloading Pride videos and watching K1 on TV.
I don't think it's that much different from watching football, just that football is more mainstream, but with the Internet you can find anything you like.
937  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Jake Paul Vs Nate Diaz boxing Aug 5th on Dazn PPV on: April 27, 2023, 02:35:40 PM
That probably shouldn't effect the fight unless he's got a court date or something during the camp. That probably wouldn't matter much either unless it was literally on the day of the fight.

A close call though. The man obviously lost consciousness there, so if he were not to wake up, or break his head on the concrete, we wouldn't be talking about a court date here, but they would've came into Nate's home and dragged him to jail. The man has so much money and fame and he continues to take part in these stupid drunk street brawls.
938  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Russian Invasion of Ukraine[In Progress] on: April 26, 2023, 11:20:59 PM
Of course it's everybody else that's bad. Finland and Sweden don't invade other countries, but they're bad, Ukraine never invaded, but it's bad, Poland doesn't invade but it's bad, France is bad, the whole world is to blame just not Russians. The more I watch this war going, the more I hope this fucked up country finally bombs itself into oblivion.
If you consider some countries to be bad, then you are an ordinary Nazi, cultivating enmity and hatred here, projecting your internal phobias into the public Internet space.

Then Russians must be Nazis because what I've said about all those countries being "bad" was actually the Russian propaganda about them.
About those phobias, sure, I have them after watching how Russian mercenaries murdered a man with a sledgehammer, or how they were shooting unarmed people who were trying to flee the war zone. Any sane person would not want these animals to come to their country.

Russia wanted and still wants relatively little from Ukraine - a neutral non-bloc status and stop killing ethnic Russians in the Donbas, which it has been doing for the past eight years.

Russia wants little, but takes it all. Recently Russians managed to even dig out dead pigs that Ukrainians buried after an anthrax outbreak.

Czech minister said that Lavrov is a clown and he's right. I hope the whole world sees these liars and murderers for what they really are.
939  Economy / Economics / Re: Is the pet industry recession-proof? on: April 26, 2023, 11:07:16 PM
I know something about inflation in pet supplies. We have 2 cats and in 2 years the price of cat sand (bentonite) went up by 100%. It's not something we can't deal with, but this used to be a very cheap thing to buy every month, now it costs more than a restaurant meal. Cat's don't seem to appreciate what we're doing for them, they do their thing like nothing happened. Maybe we should learn from them and ignore inflation. It's better for our mental health.

The recession has no respect for any industry. The pet industry is similar to other industries where sales of goods and rendering of services occurs. And since it is humans involved in carrying out these activities and not robots, the effect of the recession will also be felt there too.

For example the cost of Royal Canin a dry dog kibble has tripled in price since the recession began.

The veterinary doctors have to raise their fees because the cost of items have skyrocketed. It's terrible but then it is what it is.

Don't buy royal, it's actually a low quality food. Vets get paid to promote and sell it, which is why they do. Check the ingredients. Animal food should contain a lot of meat and it doesn't need to have corn or rice, but royal has this inverted with lots of veggies and little meat. Compare ingredients with taste of the wild and you'll see what I mean.
