921  Bitcoin / Group buys / Re: DRILLBIT SYSTEM Miners - Thumbs (Temp NA), 8 Boards (0 left) on: January 30, 2014, 12:42:06 AM
I am still waiting on a response where are the boys from drillbit
Finally bought a rpi to run the boards i used the image from TK1337 and they instant start mining

Has anyone get a more stable platform since it has a tendency to hang after several hours of mining
The image i download is the 7 version and i installed cgminer 3.9, but ofcourse got a backup from the old one
Did anyone try to run bfgminer on these minepeon clone ?

If you have not done it already turn off automatic donations (if using minepeon).
They start up after so many hours and stalled my pi everytime.

Is this still going on or did it die due to delays?

Given the lack of member participation on this thread it's apparent that they do not believe they need the broader community to support this.  While the potential for the science is amazing - I don't have much trust in the leadership here.
Nor do I plan on mining, which is what I do.  Makes no financial sense at this point with an ever increasing inventory of coins.
926  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: [Antminer S1 open for sale again] The last round before the Chinese New Year on: January 26, 2014, 07:13:31 PM
Has anyone else had problems with fans working on the Antminers.  Specifically getting the rear fan port (male adaptor?) to work with a 4 pin fan?

Fourth - this one is a little different

Third -

EDIT - SO - the proxy is not connecting to the pool.  I have tried a bunch of different addresses for BTCGuild.  Nothing seems to work.  I tried eu-stratum...., stratum..., I have a cgminer running eu-stratum-lb489kj.btcguild.com and I tried that too.  Port 3333 and password x, also tried 123.

INIT: 1 chips detected

That's what the first on says.

How do I get back to the screen showing the other three?
931  Bitcoin / Mining support / Re: [GUIDE] BitFury Miner Support/Tuning on: January 22, 2014, 04:33:57 PM
here is what I get.  Not sure what I am suppose to put in place of the three x's in your second instruction.

Thanks Keefe.  Working on it.  Now this morning I can't get the rPi to start.  Goes through what looks like initialization then flashes green and red, but mostly red.  Trying to solve that so I can solve this.
933  Bitcoin / Mining support / Re: [GUIDE] BitFury Miner Support/Tuning on: January 22, 2014, 03:13:51 AM
I have a head scratcher and maybe you all have some ideas.
I just received an RMA v2 mboard to replace one that semi melted the pci-e sockets.  I have both screw terminals and pci-e plugs in now.  So hopefully that won't happen again.
I lined up all my h-boards in the same order I had them on the old m-board.  Started up and I some were working others were not.  Typical Bitfury fire drill.
So I proceeded to move around my boards. Let them go and come back and fiddle some more.
Then the miner just stops.  Can't connect to it or pull it up in the browser.  Pi is flashing red lights.
So I figure bad SD and get a new card, download v2 image change the card.  Same deal, flashing red.
So I pulled out a new pi I had sitting around and plugged that in.  Same deal, flashing red.
No idea what to do so I changed out my ethernet cable.  Shazam - the pi has green lights and I can see the Admin page in my browser.
Here is the problem.  I can't get it to mine now.  Since all this happened it will not mine.  I have changed the pool configuration, changed the ip address just for the heck of it, rebooted ten times and let it sit for an hour.
I see the "0GH/s" flash ever so slightly every 10 seconds or so like it does when it's mining.  But every card is at zero.  I have 14 cards and was doing about 450 Gh/s.
So if anyone can help I would appreciate it.  I don't know what else to try.
Thanks!

EDIT:  Here is what the chips look like.  But I don't know much about this page other than they are not working.  I also have 14 boards so this is not nearly enough chips.

Anyone know where I can get a new one of these PCI-e to Screw Terminal adapters?
Or where I can get the lugs that attach and are crimpted to the wires so I can make it myself?

Additionally, is it kosher to have both PCIe connectors hooked up, in addition to these two screw terminals, if we want to ensure our rigs are getting all the juice they require ?

Read: Is having 4 power sources going to the M-Board going to cause it to melt ?

Would be interested in picking up a few of these cables as well.

You should not connect more than one PSU to the same rig, because they will fight each other. But there's no harm connecting a single PSU to a rig with as many connections (screw, PCIe, etc) as you want, the more the better within reason.I highly recommend using four 6+2-pin or 8-pin PCIe power cables from your PSU for a full rig. 6-pin PCIe power cables may use the same wire gauge and connector quality, but may not have the best connections inside the PSU or may be too limited by any per-rail OCP. If your PSU doesn't have four 6+2-pin/8-pin connectors, it may not be designed to provide as much continuous power to them as you need.

so it's ok to mix 2 pci-e and 2 ring connectors cables from the same psu to one rig?

Yes - it is addressed in the post above your question.  In red.

I have to. Melted 2 pci-e cables. Need to distribute the load better. One of these adapters was the latest casualty. Running 14 boards at 460 GH/s.

OK - Parts -
You will need to get 2x 8" PCI-e 6-pin extension cables.  Despite having absolutely zero need for these previously,I happened to have some sitting around because of the ridiculous amount of stuff I have bought for this hobby.
Then you need 4 lugs, which you can get at Home Depot.  They are in the aisle with the light switches toward the end.  If you don't already have a wire stripper/crimp tool you can buy one that has an assortment of lugs in the same package. ($5.45)  This is in the same area.
Small 4" zip ties (not required, but helpful)

The rest is fairly obvious but if you don't have a completed one around to look at:

1. You cut the MALE end off the 6-pin extension cables.
2. Strip the wires so you have about a half inch of exposed wire.
3. On each extension  you have 3 black and 3 Yellow.  Yellow is 12V and Black is ground.  Twist the 3 yellow  together at the ends.
4. Then do the same for the 3 blacks.  Do not mix black and yellow.
5. Slip the lug over the 3 yellow twisted wires and crimp with your tool or a pair of plyers.
6. Repeat for the 3 black wires.
7. Repeat last two steps for the other extension cable.
8. Final step - take the 2 lugs with the yellow wires and zip tie the wires near the lugs.  Do the same for the black wires.  This is not required but the wires have a mind of their own and it makes it easier to screw them down.

Can someone with more knowledge about this stuff than I please review these steps for accuracy.
I was able to get the materials and build these in about an hour.

I am not responsible if you electrocute your self or blow up your miner.  I am not an EE.

Goxed -
What do you use for thermal paste and glue?  I would like to try this but I have never used either.
Recommend a supplier?  I am sure a bunch of places carry it, but curious.

       17 NanoFurys For Sale

I have 17 NanoFuries left from my v0.7 Moonlightminer(MLM) run.  All but one or two have speed issues.
They do not hit 2.0 Gh/s at stock speed +/-10%.  So this is a discounted sale.

FACTS:

**5 miners (#0,#1,#7,#9,#12)are technically within the +/-10% variance, but they are at the lower end so I’ll discount these too.
**1 miner (#8) is actually 1.96 Gh/s stock so that one is good but I’ll still discount it.
**The lowest stock speed is 1.43 Gh/s, but the average of all 17 together is 1.73 Gh/s.
**Overclocked speed is different story.  The second screen shot shows the miners overclocked to 55 bits, which they have handled fine for the past few weeks.
**All but 1 hits 2.0 or better.  The one that does not is 1.99.  The highest is 2.67.

PRICE

Each miner is .09 BTC.  That’s a great deal for the faster ones and appropriate for the slowest.
Please let me know which ones you want by giving me the number from the screen prints.   I will update the OP with what is left.
