941  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: 12vZGymxSfbXmYB6tHYS4oM8kMYYBxDZHx = SATOSHI ? on: August 19, 2023, 08:25:32 AM
Very suspicious transfers. I read the news that 400.000 BTC were transferred from old wallets in August!
What is so suspicious about old addresses, likely miners from that time, moving their balance to another addresses? Sure, they might sell some of them, but it is not like that is a malicious thing to do. Just a few days ago there were news of a 1000 BTC being moved, and you'll likely see more of them in the future. Doesn't mean they are satoshi though.
942  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: im launching my service;) on: August 19, 2023, 08:12:48 AM
then i prefer for roadmap or whitepaper. i built my community in local first before in the international.
I'm not sure how it usually goes but I believe writing a whitepaper or roadmap can be done while you work on your website, especially if you work together with other people. It will also help people to consider your idea more seriously since they can see what is your plan in the future, although it doesn't guarantee that you will succeed. Unless you work alone, I don't see the point of delaying of writing or thinking about your roadmap unless you want to just go day by day with your projects.
943  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Using Gekko Bot in 2023 on: August 19, 2023, 06:57:31 AM
A few days back I tested the 3commas platform as someone was asking if one of the members has any experience with it so I planned to take some experience and what I noticed it you could attach any wallet or exchange with it where you want your trades to be executed easily fully automated.
As far as I'm aware, 3commas is a centralized service unlike Gekko or other open-source trading bot. The only thing that I recognize belongs to the same category from your list is Zenbot. I did try it in the past and it works just fine, but it is also a bit outdated. Not sure if there is an alternative that is still maintained by its developer nowadays since the competition from centralized services like 3commas is quite harsh, even though there are cases where users get exploited through them. 944  Bitcoin / Hardware wallets / Re: One of the worst examples of a "HW wallet" on ebay I've ever seen on: August 18, 2023, 10:19:37 AM
Yeah, I'm wondering what was other 49 items that hesold already...
Many of those feedbacks comes from reviews from a year old or more. He didn't sell anything in the past 12 months and a lot of his products seem to have been removed too. I'd not be surprised if the account changed hands or something similar happened which led him to sell shady products like this.
945  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: Bitcoin mining researchers claim new tech ups winning hash chance by 260% on: August 18, 2023, 09:51:31 AM
If I get this right, they build their algorithm basically by trying to find patterns to past accepted hashes. How do we know if that is reliable, or if there is a pattern to begin with? Their claim that the algorithm can predict the future hash is also quite unbelievable. I'll wait until some miners try using it and see how exactly it work. You're right, it sounds just full of bullshit for now.
946  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: Trade on Binance via ChatGPT! on: August 18, 2023, 09:45:00 AM
To enhance your security, you can refrain from granting withdrawal permissions and whitelist the coins you wish to work with. We do not allow API keys with withdrawal permissions to be added to our system. Nevertheless, if you are sharing your API key with an individual or entity, it is advisable to periodically check whether any unauthorized activities have taken place through your API on the exchange.
Hacks in the past utilize this feature to manipulate the pump and dump/trading activity of its users. Let's say your platform is working as intended but if you expose the users' API key, then it is still problematic for most users. While I do understand that this can happen with any platform, I don't see the benefit of using it here since other competitors tell us how the story goes. Personally, I am a bit biased against trading API platforms since they don't seem to offer good security measures. What kind of protection do you have in mind? Surely it is not so secret that talking about it would lead to data leaks.
947  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: [bip39.org] Open Source BIP39 Mnemonic Generator via Email and Password on: August 18, 2023, 09:23:47 AM
Hello, that is why I recommend you to set enough length of nonce ( > 10000 ) to make it resistant to the brute force attack.
I tried this setting and it still generates my seed pretty fast. As a non-techy user, how would I know if the generated seed is relatively safe from brute force or not? Is there any tool or way for me to check the entropy value?
948  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: need help bitcoin on: August 17, 2023, 06:48:59 AM
-snip-
Don't bother sending a PM to anyone claiming to help you if they don't have any reputation on this forum. If you really want to help then post your advice here like what everyone did above. No point going into PM if you want to help, you can even try posting in French plus English language if that's what you want to address through PM.
949  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: PayPal [PYUSD] Phishing Site - Never connect with your wallet! on: August 17, 2023, 06:35:30 AM
We should never connect our main wallet with any new site, we have not bookmarked.
It does not matter if you've bookmarked it or not, you should never connect your wallet to malicious websites. The best way to go about this is to look for their official social media/websites and verify them before visiting them. There is virtually no end to phishing websites. The best way to protect yourself from stuff like this is to be vigilant at all times. Don't rely on bookmarks too much since some attackers use DNS hijacking to scam visitors.
950  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: How Could NFTs and AR Transform Virtual Events? on: August 17, 2023, 06:27:11 AM
Means to say you are late but there is still room to grow because most of the platform are just spam, or they have not abled to fulfill there promises to provide these features but some has abled to provide these features so. I hope your ideas must bring some useful value to such platform or if you are planning to bring your own.
I believe most of them are going to fail. The niche is just too small IMO. Unless they have a big user base before, launching a new feature like this with your only advantage over your competition is not going to cut it. Not to mention most of them launch their own token which is going to be worthless most of the time.
951  Economy / Economics / Re: China Setting up mBridge against US Swift Ban on: August 17, 2023, 06:09:43 AM
Would countries be more willing to hold yuan oppose to USD? Perhaps if they had no choice, it's an attractive alternative.
I'm not sure how the government handles their payment, but is it not possible for them to just convert to Yuan on the fly when they want to use this payment network? If this is possible I can see they buy USD and then hold it for some time, then convert it to Yuan when the needs arise. Obviously, if it is for large volume payments then things can be troublesome. Suffice to say countries with terrible US relations would likely be eager to use this more than others.
952  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Can a transaction in a 6 block confirmation removed on: August 16, 2023, 07:42:00 AM
Some mining pools offer transaction acceleration services but is not advisable to use them because you will be relying on a third-party service provider.
I'd not call it not advisable, just that you should not rely on them. They can help if things go wrong, but they are not a magic tool that will accelerate your transaction plus most of the time they have a limit on how many and which transactions to accelerate. Using RBF is going to be better IMO.
953  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Are these BTC-Swaps legit ? on: August 16, 2023, 07:29:46 AM
How do you know if it's a real dex or not?

thought it was all dexes
With how different people interpret DEX, it would be difficult to figure out which one is real if you only take claims at face value. AFAIK, if they need an e-mail to login, can freeze your account at any given time, can block you due to IP or address restriction, requires KYC, or limit your trade at any given time then they are likely not decentralized. Obviously there are more things to consider, just remember that not all DEX services are decentralized in nature to some extent.
954  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: !! Warning !! Bitget Exchange on: August 16, 2023, 06:57:01 AM
but If you check out Trust pilot review then it is clear that this is not only case and many people facing withdraw problem.
Just keep in mind that some reviews can be fake too. Are you familiar with the service mentioned in the review above? They claim to get their money back after they report the exchange to them, but I'm not sure they offer a service like that. Besides, if the exchange doesn't want to return your money back, I doubt the user will find success reporting them to a third-party service. Unless they are suing them. CMIIW.
955  Bitcoin / Wallet software / Re: Does it make sense to have mobile wallet + desktop wallet from same brand? on: August 16, 2023, 06:29:19 AM
It's great that you're considering switching to a new wallet that better meets your needs. There are indeed several cryptocurrency wallets available that offer secure synchronization between desktop and mobile apps. These wallets often use a seed phrase (also known as a recovery phrase or mnemonic phrase) to securely generate private keys and addresses across different devices.
I guess you're referring to hot wallets like web wallets (e.g. Blockchain.com) that need an e-mail and password to log in. If you do use a wallet like that, consider moving to other wallets asap since they are less secure. You also need to depend on another party to make sure you can still access your wallet if you never export your seeds before.
956  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: Trade on Binance via ChatGPT! on: August 16, 2023, 06:12:27 AM
What's the benefit of using your tools compared to other trading bots or trading on Binance directly? What kind of complex features that you have that others don't? Exposing Binance API is prone to hacking/abuse like what happened to 3commas and others, if what I can do is a simple buy and sell order I'd not use your platform for that.
957  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Are these BTC-Swaps legit ? on: August 15, 2023, 07:24:49 AM
you can change your eth to btc (native), why is it bad if they also offer wrapped tokens?
Uniswap and all the other dexes do that too.
I think you misread me. I said you should avoid them if they only offer wrapped tokens, meaning that if they offer native BTC swaps then you can try them (after checking other things like their past problems, etc). Wrapped tokens are risky since they can get frozen, lost their value, and so on quickly. Besides, why would you settle with wrapped tokens if you can trade native BTC? Exposing yourself to wrapped tokens will just increase the risk of your funds losing its values.
958  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: The economy can make mining unprofitable. on: August 15, 2023, 07:00:11 AM
Mining is only profitable with solar, wind, gas flare as a source of powering the mining rig. Electricity bill will drive you out of business especially  if it is not done on an industrial scale.
Do you have any sources on this? As far as I can remember, most suggestions related to mining do assume that users have cheap access to electricity, but not limited to renewable energy. Renewable energy does have some benefits and miners might profit more from it in the long run, but the cost to build one or gain access to it is quite difficult.
959  Bitcoin / Legal / Re: Legal firm recommendations (UK)? on: August 15, 2023, 06:28:26 AM
Once I decided to withdraw my funds, they put the transaction "In review" and it is in this state for months. Of course, I raised this with support, but I am getting non-sense replies without clear explanation what is the actual problem.
Try to raise some noise in social media since I've seen some cases get processed quicker after the user complaints on Reddit. By quicker I mean months. It is unfortunate but some exchanges are as quick as snails when processing complaints. But this also depends on luck since they might no longer care about their reputation at this point. Just keep in mind that the cost to make a case against them is probably a lot, and for some users moving to other platforms might be better. Best of luck if you try to sue them though.
960  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How possible can this be and if possible how can it be effectively detected? on: August 15, 2023, 05:40:38 AM
Can you please tell me more about this opt-in RBF if you have links please share how does it work. Is there a post as regards this if available share link
There are many sources if you search with the keyword "opt-in RBF" through search engines. Basically, it allows you to replace your transaction with a new transaction with a different fee. You can also scroll around this forum since some topics do discuss it like this one[1].
