941  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: It is only Bitcoin and nothing else on: September 18, 2023, 05:25:21 PM
I know there are other who would have similar experience too and there are still others caught up in the euphoria of getting rich through one token or the other. Well, if it is not Bitcoin, it is not worth holding.

Bitcoin is only considered as a digital currency one can invest and hold, other cryptocurrencies are centralized and have higher risk of investment with uncertainties to what might be their outcomes, if you hold other cryptocurrencies, you are taking high risk and such is not regarded as an investment, but when you invest on bitcoin, you can hold as many as you want for any duration of time without having fear of missing out like you get with other cryptocurrencies.

Snipped

Maybe you should first considers yourself security and privacy safety before thinking about others, also what make you think the admin to this forum needs more of privacy thwn you think or didn't have enough as you though of, in case of next time, when you're passing out information on this category of posts on privacy and security, you don't have to be specific about a particular target or victim, make it general to everyone to be on security alert, then try to apply that to yourself first and see it works for you perfectly before making a recommendation, or better still make it your own personal decision.

1) since I'm ill should I show my family my seed phrase

It depends on your wish, if you think they are deserving for it and has the worth and pedigree of reputation you think you can confide trust in them, there's nothing bad, it's your money and they are not forcing you to do so, you can choose to or not depending on how you're comfortable with them around you, you can also consider the level of the sickness you have in respect with the stage it has gotten with your chances of survival in it altogether before coming with a conclusion.

2) if I die who will take over my bitcoin since nobody in my family knows my seed phrase.

No body, eventually it will remain in your wallet, that's why if you think it worth having some discussions, plan or takeover plan before you die, then don't hesitate to do it now.
946  Economy / Speculation / Re: Will $25,000 give way this time? on: September 15, 2023, 01:55:05 PM
Positive reactions to the lows, failure to sustain the negative move and a reflex reaction upwards.   Seems 25k has held as per OP inquisition.

Because we have held such a negative stance ongoing, quite a few moving averages are nearby.  I wont call them rungs on a ladder exactly they hold no weight to support us or resist either but its a fair marker of progress if we can pass these.  So here blue is a weekly average roughly and yellow would be the monthly.  More often watched is the 50 day average and ideally we want that positive trend and to stay above that measure to stay a proper recovery, moving from this negative bout of BTC price action .
The real target is something like 27.5k  but thats bigger picture, this is a quick view and for once its too nice to deny we are doing ok.

You're right, one thing that has to be noticed about the market trend is that when we speculate, it may not be an immediately forcast we made, it may require some time interval to see them come through, bitcoin market is gaining more positive strength against the bear market by rising gradually and now that we have left the $25,000 market zone, this chart could show more possibilities to experience the pump in orice the more base on the indications seen from the weekly candles as expresser on the chart, we may be moving ahead like this gradually till we achieve more high beyond what an ordinary bear resistance could made anytime soon.
947  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Interview questions on Bitcoin for newbies. on: September 15, 2023, 12:45:52 PM
What is difference between public and private key?
What is Bitcoin address?
How do I receive a Bitcoin?
What is Bitcoin trust?

This is good and there's nothing bad in giving the informative knowledge on the newbies coming to this forum, also know that alot of these questions asked had already been discussed and answers have been provided to them before, just as it has been suggested already, it's more better going through the material bitcoin materials for newbies, also if we are to consider what the newbies needed first, this may not be the first and foremost to begin with for a beginner, there are many to discover on beginners and help board or through the use of the search button, also here's a recommendation on beginners and help encyclopedia you could learn broader.

I want to announce to you that if you are only here because you want to make quick money, then you may mostly likely not make the money and here will be so boring to you because you will reveal that tendency and the OGs will notice you.
Some of the older people can share their experience as regards to how they started, maybe we all can learn somethings too.

Everyone joining this forum is not because they wanted to make money, moreover here is not a financial advisory or money making platform, it's basically for bitcoin discussion, though some other opportunities may come in along with time, also we have another category of members that only came here to advertise their service, some come to learn, while others to contribute to the community development.

Also, we have some members that came here to only get their problem solved and leave while some remain, on the contrary to all these, there are other categories of members who came for bounties only, some are here to troll, scam or spam, you can see that we could have a number of categories we could group the members base on their own reason for joining the forum, the only thing that can make one stay here is in going by the rules and regulations of the forum.

950  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Possible measures to stop online gambling addiction. on: September 14, 2023, 01:24:07 PM
Quitting online gambling addiction is a massive challenge for those who have fallen into it. Most people addicted to gambling may be aware of the consequences that gambling causes, but they seem to have no way to control or resist the temptation of gambling. Determination to quit addiction is necessary and a top priority if gambling addiction treatment is to be effective. It is easy to give up treatment or relapse into gambling after a short period if you continue to live in a gambling environment, so staying away from gambling environments is a must.
I think, In some cases, seeing a psychologist will bring good results for the detoxification process.

If we are to go by the means of quitting gambling entirely, isn't that going to be another means of creating more problem while trying to solve one, the gambler in this case wouldn't want to quit because it's fun, e en if he doesn't have money he may manage to go hungry just to satisfy his gambling desires, why not we make use of a slow and steady means of withdrawal by introducing in another thing we could always get busy on, this will take his time and there will be less money in his disposal to be used in gambling, though all these are what i believe a therapist can handle if allowed.
951  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: How does an online Foodbetting site sound? on: September 14, 2023, 01:01:43 PM
True. And these types of contests are happening anywhere for fun where there are no doctors or ambulances in case something happens. Probably the worst I heard about activities like this are liquor drinking contests. And I already read in the news someone was dead after joining a liquor-drinking contest. The guy probably won after consuming too much alcohol but the expenses and the family left behind especially the children will suffer. Most participants of these types of tournaments which is common for fun in communities are not financially well-to-do people.
I know some variation of this type of betting would already have been taking place in some communities and localities so I am not surprised that you mentioned the liquor drinking contest. Unfortunately because this type of contest is unregulated there is bound to be reported cases and unreported cases of causalities even after the competition has ended. I therefore do not recommend any one participating or betting in these contests.

When it's going from food contest to liquor drinking contest then everything here becomes detestable, food contest is acceptable and government themselves can support it, but that of hosting a liquor drinking contest is not a low level classic gambling one could bet on except for the thicker skinned  Grin one can get drunk and loose memory or run mad, i also don't consider liquor in this case as food because it requires food itself, it's somewhat a weird gambling that could be life threatening as well and should be discouraged.
952  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Telegram Bitcoin and other crypto currency wallet. on: September 14, 2023, 12:43:19 PM
From the looks, I strongly believe Bitcoin would be included because of the large followership they  already have. Their members are so voluminous that possibly over 80 percent of them are bitcoiners so definitely Bitcoin would be put into consideration and come to talk of it, is there any wallet that launches without including Bitcoin to their wallet address option or do they want to use the wallet themselves?.

Almost every wallet launched has it own tokens and alao supported bitcoin, now in their own case they are not being specific to us on which coin is their wallet going to support, is it bitcoin only, altcoins only or both, also we can see that many of these kind of project always aim at introducing their own centralized account other people refer to as centralized wallet, because they are introducing their own coin it will support, maybe it may support orher coins as well or not we cannot tell, remember we have bitcoin only and altcoins only supported wallets.

I was wondering how safe it would be hence me bringing it here for discussion. So far the telegram platform is very porous and scammers carry out their nefarious act there which makes it not too conducive for most discussions and now Crypto wallet is about to take shape their with one storing or saving his or her assets there. What are the possibility that one can securely safe their assets there without having any issues of scam or hack through telegram hack?

Honestly there's nothing safe in anything that is coming from a centralized authority, this makes no difference from using an exchange as I've earlier said, not your keys not your coins, you will be surprised the way they will deal with their users with censorship after some time, telegram is off the game, just as I can't accept an offer from business to introduce me their Binance wallets and they are telling me it's non custodial.
953  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Telegram Bitcoin and other crypto currency wallet. on: September 14, 2023, 11:45:42 AM

Congratulations to telegram for launching their own crypto wallet. It has long been on the news and limelight of telegram running their own TON network for quite some years now and at last they achieved it. With their large traffic size of over 800 million users on monthly basis I think this would give them a good edge and stand on Crypto market as they already have a good utility value coupled with the fact that they just launched their own Crypto wallet.

I will first congratulate telegram and it's users for this new offer, but yet am not going to say it's a big catch for the bitcoin network considering that we are not sure of the coins this wallet could support, which i believe it's obviously not going to be all cryptocurrencies, even though there's no how they will start with the enlistment of supported currencies without mentioning bitcoin on their list, however using this wallet as a bitcoiner is not encouraged enough because it's no difference from an online wallet.

Secondly if we consider the rate at which telegram itself get hacked and leak user data, having a wallet with them is neither safe because if the user's contact number is attacked, it renders the wallet on that account being compromised as well, all these are nothing different from using a centralized exchange and has same level of risk which is not good enough for security and privacy.
954  Economy / Speculation / Re: Good time to sell? on: September 13, 2023, 10:25:35 PM
How do you determine when is the good time to sell?

It is very simple to do, if i enter the market as at when the market was $32 and i invested and hold till now when the market run dip as low as $26,000, this meas obviously I can't sell than to keep holding, next year if the market surges and we had a bullrun and there's a new all time high, whereby bitcoin rise pass the $68,000 to about $150,000 or more, then i can sell, the difference is in the patient to hold and the time required in doing so.

in other words: how would you know we've reached the peak?

If the market rises and keep rising, the peak could be depict when we begin to have nothing less than $100,000 and after then the market will run dip below that ATH.
955  Economy / Speculation / Re: How do you suggest I handle incorrect price predictions? on: September 13, 2023, 10:02:48 PM
I find it frustrating when my price prediction for the market fails.

Do you think you're the only one that had this kind of experience with failed attempts in the market precision, i think we just have to understand the fact that that's how the bitcoin market is with being volatile, we can't predict what may comed in next even if we are sure of what we have researched about it, i think those into trading should tell more of what it takes to make predictions on plain the market to see something else turns out to be the outcome after the prediction.

know that it is difficult to predict the market movement due to its uncertainty and also that it is not possible to consistently predict the future accurately but it still hurts when I tell it to my friends and it doesn't turn out so.

We cannot be always right in what we do, this is why we are taking the risk to invest, trade or speculate on the market, yet all our presumptions may not be accurate.
956  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: The power of influencials and brand ambassadors, don't fall for it. on: September 13, 2023, 09:26:19 PM
Everyone has their favorite person they love as a fan either through music, football, actor and actress, Mr. and Mrs., and content creators and because of the power they possess, they get endorsement deals, and partnerships to influence products to the people to make outreach to the consumers and potential customers they can influence to buy the products because of that love and likeness they have for them.

Influencers are not the bad actors, they are not the owner of what tyey are advertising just as me and you are promoting for an organization in a signature campaign which we don't know their owners in person, but because we trust them, we work for them and they pay us, same are these influencers, there's is not about verifying the nature of what they were being offered to promote, they accept any offer in other for them to earn money from it, but now to our own side, we are the ones involved in making this transactions using our money, we have to research, avoid risk and know what we are going for not to be scam irrespective of those influencing it.

Avoid being influenced to buy a coin or any project, learn to do your own research, do some background check about the project, check the aims and objective of the project, the scope of the project and what they want to do, and not some unrealistic magic just to eat investors money.

We wouldn't love to loose our money so we have to make a thorough research on anything we are investing on, in cryptocurrency, if we think we don't have to go that much in taking risk, then it's better we maintain bitcoin investment to avoid having encounter with projects that won't last.

958  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: What is the Difference Between Plying Gambling on Online Sites and Real Casinos? on: September 13, 2023, 01:45:39 PM
Another major difference for me is that with online casino, you can easily contact their customer support and carry on the conversation through the next day without having to worry about moving out your apartment and travelling in traffic to resolve an issue. This is not so with the physical casinos.

When we are considering the way the customer service respond to our request, I can't say one of the two is more preferable to another because they both have their own challenges both in physical and online, using a physical casino for gambling will give you direct access to their agents and they can serve you better, in using an online casino, their customer service may not be prompt in responding to your request, some will assign you a robot to respond to you, if you're using a physical casino, make sure you're choosing the one closer to you whereby you can quickly lodge your complaints.
959  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: A weird belief among some gamblers. on: September 13, 2023, 01:26:47 PM
If I play a game and I lost, I can take the disappointment but when someone else knows about the loss, I always feel like they'll tell others and that makes me uncomfortable. I would rather gamble online on my mobile phone than follow someone to casino to play games.

I don't know why some people cannot just be independent in their way of gambling, that each time they are going to the casinos they have to go together with their friends, though it's not something bad to always have a company of friends gambling together but it will get to a stage we may want to have some privacy about our livestyle in gambling when we would have also consider the influence we get through this friends we have.
960  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Is it too late to seek a new beginning? on: September 12, 2023, 09:32:52 AM
I've been a member of this forum for a while, but I spend the majority of my time in the bounty section because I was introduced to the forum to take part in bounty campaigns, which I won't say have been very profitable so far.

Why has it been that so many of you will think of coming to bitcointalk to make money, this is bitcoin discussion forum for crying out loud, your friend that introduced you here am not is not on bounties but told you to come over there and make money, have he also consider the scam projects that are going there as well, also you could see that yourself that not until you make that determination to go the right way, no one ever told you bounties and a waste of time especially for newbies, you've been on the forum since last year and only have 66 activities and posts which means you have but been active as well, but it's never too late to start all over again, i will advise you this time to be active, read the forums rules and regulations, learn to give quality post, and you could have a new beginning.
