941  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: We must fight back SEC, from Ripple to Coinbase on: April 26, 2023, 09:26:43 PM
It's not even 'arguable', it's a damn well-known fact for a while now that the SEC is doing a dogshit job of actually protecting people — assuming protecting people was their intention in the first place.

The SEC is a corrupt organization that aims to achieve its own goals, mostly working with certain US senators like Elizabeth Warren.

They don't want to protect people. It's just a convenient way of explaining their actions, but the situation with SBF clearly shows they did not have the people's best interest in mind.
942  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Who is losing? Finland joins NATO. on: April 25, 2023, 05:11:08 PM
Any country can join whatever alliance it wants. IMO countries should make a clear stance and draw the line where it should be drawn - at invasion and murder.

As if the Ukraine incident wasn't a big enough headache.

You call that invasion and people being murdered and buried in mass graves "an incident"? That's an euphemism to say the least.
943  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin could hit $100,000 by the end of 2024 - Standard Chartered - Surprised? on: April 25, 2023, 04:56:39 PM
Not surprised because the rumor of Bitcoin will reach $100K is nothing new and Standard Chartered bank headquartered is operated in London, so it's a part of United Kingdom where they're friendly with Bitcoin.

That said, the bank isn't a holder of bitcoin, so it can be called an impartial analysis, unlike the ones made by well known bitcoiners like Max Keiser, or bitcoin analysts like PlanB.
These predictions made by banks are taken more seriously by people from outside the bitcoin ecosystem and we could use some billionaires to become interested in this. I'm not saying they have to buy right now, but bitcoin isn't as popular as it could be because many people think it to be too complex and time consuming to learn, so they stick with what they know.

SC prediction is based on the last cycle and you can see it by the way they take into account a possibility of a sudden crash to 5k, which is based on analysing the 2019-2020 data model where we had this sudden drop to 3k. Black swan events like the covid crash aren't something that repeats periodically, so I wouldn't count on it.
944  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Russian Invasion of Ukraine[In Progress] on: April 25, 2023, 04:42:06 PM
That "quod licet Iovi, non licet bovi" policy of the West seems main culprit
Otherwise we can all surely agree that invading other countries is bad, be it USA or Russia or whoever doing it

Most countries never do, yet it's somehow fine if Russians do it, because they aren't the only country that's ever done it, right?
It's like coming to a party, making a fool of yourself, breaking some stuff, acting like an idiot, finally puking all over, but when someone mentions it, hey, I wasn't the only one that ever did it at a party. Doesn't matter that there was 100 people there, 95 of which never did anything like that, it's all fine because there were some people that did it. That's the Russian stance. We can murder Ukrainians because Americans murdered people in Afghanistan and Iraq and Nazis murdered Jews, so everything is fine.

Of course it's everybody else that's bad. Finland and Sweden don't invade other countries, but they're bad, Ukraine never invaded, but it's bad, Poland doesn't invade but it's bad, France is bad, the whole world is to blame just not Russians. The more I watch this war going, the more I hope this fucked up country finally bombs itself into oblivion.
945  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin is going down day after day right now on: April 23, 2023, 07:36:28 PM
Everything is going well. Just look at the big picture.

Bitcoin continues to hold above ATH from the previous cycle and above the 200WMA. It has recovered from the bear market bottom, that was really low this year thanks to one of the biggest exchanges turning out to be a scam. By crossing above 23k this year we've made it over the level considered to be the mining profitability threshold and also solidified a position above the old ATH of 20k. Both these things are bullish and show that the bear market is over.

Some people think we are in a bear market but we aren't! Bear market is characterized by regular lower lows, like in 2022, but since the breakout in January we're getting higher lows, and as long as this correction doesn't take us below 20k, we're going to get another higher low.

What to expect? Probably that bitcoin will stay between 20 and 30k for a while and end up breaking above 31k later this year. When will it happen will depend on many factors but I expect to see 35k by the end of the year and at least 50k before the halving.
946  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoiners are unaware. The mining algorithm wasn't designed to advance science. on: April 23, 2023, 06:24:51 PM
If you come to me and say I AM A BITCOINER, I will immediately distrust you and regard you as a science hater.

Which will only prove how narrow-minded you are and how limited your knowledge of bitcoin is. FYI, most bitcoiners don't mine and mining is only one of many things you can do to call yourself a bitcoiner.
Why would people who consider bitcoin to be digital gold and buy it to protect themselves from the manipulation of the FED deserve to be called haters of science?
You're making it sound, like every bitcoin holder should be aware of the technicalities and spend their time debating if it's green enough, or fancy enough, while some dude in Argentina just wants money not to lose 10% of value each month.
947  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Russian Invasion of Ukraine[In Progress] on: April 21, 2023, 07:46:54 PM
Do you know what Russians say when their own bomb fall on their heads? It was an abnormal descent of aviation ammunition. Watch out brave defenders of Putin, because there's a lot of abnormal descents happening in Russia. Sometimes it's a jet, sometimes it's a helicopter, and sometimes it's a bomb. I wouldn't be able to sleep at night.

A Russian Sukhoi-34 fighter-jet has accidentally bombed the Russian city of Belgorod, around 40km (25 miles) from the border with Ukraine.
Regional governor Vyacheslav Gladkov said three people were injured and several buildings were damaged.

948  Bitcoin / Legal / Re: Markets in Crypto Assets Regulation (MiCA) discussions on: April 21, 2023, 07:33:07 PM
MiCA got approved by the EU parliament.
https://www.coindesk.com/policy/2023/04/21/with-mica-past-the-finish-line-uks-crypto-industry-calls-for-rules-of-its-own/

I don't get why some people are praising it for being the first crypto rule book, like it's a good thing that they're putting a leash on its users. At this point it's going to be harder to legally use cryptocurrencies than fiat money.
I'm not sure how this is going to end up regarding their plans to make both parties go through KYC when transaction is over 1k EUR. The plan was for a registered institution, like an exchange, to have to know the owner of the address it's sending coins to, which was completely ridiculous. Nobody is going to use exchanges in the EU if that becomes a rule. Fortunately we have until 2025 for them to make up their minds. Maybe we'll have one last bull market before they kill trading in Europe.
949  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: Rollbit disables account and seizes funds (10.2k)! on: April 21, 2023, 07:14:27 PM
It doesn't look good for the casino, to be honest.

It looks like they admit he was doing the same thing the whole time.
OP claims to be playing for 6 months.
The casino says he did not lose anything, but OP had 10k on his account, which means they allowed him to withdraw at least another 10k.
There were multiple successful withdrawals by OP before he was banned.

My question is: If he was playing for 6 months, depositing and withdrawing money all the time, placing multiple bets, why did it take so long for you to notice it? Why did you allow him to withdraw over 10k USD and then all of a sudden came to a conclusion that he's (allegedly) abusing bonuses, which is something he was doing for months?

Could you show the exact point of your ToS that he broke?
950  Economy / Gambling / Re: A reminder for gamblers to avoid FortuneJack (ongoing lawsuit, 120k usd stolen) on: April 21, 2023, 06:59:00 PM
What the big deal is, is to see it on a trustworthy news that FortuneJack has been sued to court, but there is nothing like that yet. Or if I am wrong, PaperWallet should prove that. This is just about I am coming for you, FortuneJack.

Then, according to OP, you're stupid Tongue

Edit: For some stupid people posting here, saying this is FUD,

I tend to avoid criticizing possible whistleblowers, but when they insult readers in their first post, you know there's something more going on.

go ask FortuneJack
OP, if this is real, why don't YOU ask Fortunejack about it and post the conversation. You want us to work as your personal army of trolls, or what?
You're being bossy and can't even accept a bit of constructive criticism.
951  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Can i make 100 $ daily from online casinos on: April 21, 2023, 06:48:15 PM
It's possible, but depends on the period of time that you want this daily income to work.
I always make fun of these questions because there's so many ways you can interpret them.  Like "can i make 100 daily?" the answer is yes, will I make it? Probably not. Will I make it daily for 2 days in a row? Very likely! Will I make it for 30 days in a row? Very unlikely! I hope you understand now how it works, OP.

Nobody can guarantee a steady income from a game of chance. These two things don't work together. One day you win a lot of money, then you'll keep losing for 3 days straight. Even good gamblers win about 60% of the time, so you want to be better than professionals by earning $100 each day.
952  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Why does It takes time for market to be bull on: April 20, 2023, 08:10:20 PM
Bullish days cannot remain for a very long duration because it needs a lot of capital to maintain that value and to dump it, it's very easy. However, we see long bearish cycles because the bulls kick out every inch of patience from your mind that you become helpless and take out your coins for sale. This is why bearish times are longer, for the bulls to accumulate and then don't give a chance to the weak hands to get on the train again while they pleasantly make enough money on the btc gains.

P.S. this belongs to speculation if I'm correct.

It's like a rubber band that has to snap when it's being stretched too much.

When there's a lot of people buying and the bullish trend continues without a correction, more and more money is in longs and it becomes more profitable to bet against these longs. Many of us are not traders and we don't care about 5% dips and 5% pumps.

For instance, I buy all the way down, below a certain point and I don't try to profit on small corrections because that would require holding coins on exchanges and I don't want to do it. Things like that giant dump on Binance 2 days ago makes me think there's something brewing on that exchange. I feel like CZ is trading against his own clients and it's only a matter of time before it blows up like FTX, so hold your money on your wallets guys and don't try to react to every single correction. The halving is just around the corner.
953  Economy / Gambling / Re: Without money, does it still qualify as gambling? on: April 20, 2023, 07:43:41 PM
It's showing "Access denied".
Is it a country-specific website? If yes, do you know which ones are restricted?
However, yes I'd call it gambling because you're predicting something and not getting the money directly, I mean for doing nothing. Even though you're not putting your own money on it, you're getting a reward for staking your 0 money bet through your prediction and you win if what you predicted comes out to be true.
I'd compare it with the free spins that we get on websites, or the no-deposit bonuses with which we can play some specific games and even keep as well as cashout our winnings (some websites need just 1x wagering to withdraw). So it's just the same, you're gambling but without including your money there.

It's a Nigerian site. Here's what you can see when you get access:
"Correctly predict the score of 6 soccer matches to win up to N100 million!"

So, you can win $200 in Nigerian currency if you pick 6 scores in a row, which is pretty hard. Anyway, if they're for real, people might want to play. They aren't losing anything by doing it.

I feel like playing for free isn't gambling. The way I understand gambling is you're risking something to potentially win more. With no risk there's no gambling.
If you play mortal kombat with your friends and the person who beats all the others gets free beers paid by the losers, it's not really gambling. It's more like a good idea for a party Cheesy
954  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Live casino over provably fair games. on: April 20, 2023, 07:24:39 PM
I know this feeling, OP, when you're so used to clicking that roll button that when it goes red and you start losing you keep clicking anyway until you run out of money. Or you set it to auto betting and watch it go win -lose win- lose win win lose lose and it keeps staying at a level and then suddenly crashes and you get 10 loses in a row and you're out. I don't know what to tell you, maybe play slower-paced games like poker or blackjack where you have some more time to think than in roulette or dice.
955  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Starship about to take flight! on: April 20, 2023, 07:12:52 PM
What if space is fake and man did not ever left earth? LOL it would be an epic shitstorm LOL

And Earth is held by Atlas.

Do you believe in flat earth and that the moon landing was fake because they wanted to win the race against Russia? The Russian MIR was never in orbit, there were no space shuttles, the ISS is really transmitting from Earth and we never landed any robots on Mars. Also, Musk's car was never launched into space and he carries the Internet to Ukraine via couriers because Starlink is not in orbit, as there's no orbit... We could go on and on.
956  Economy / Gambling / Re: This guy gave a whole prototype of "how live roulette scam us" on: April 19, 2023, 07:48:43 PM
In evolution-games

There some roulette called "Auto-roulette", It's live game, however, the roulette spins them self without the dealer. So, the question how they can pull up the ball without being lifted from a person?

Yes, the ball could be a magnet and they use magnet to pull & spin the ball. It's possible they can manipulated the outcome? yes based on how this game can be running live without dealer.

They don't have to touch the ball at all. The ball is magnetized and the electro magnets in the wheel get turned on and off, making it avoid certain spots. For instance, if someone places a very large bet on a certain number, only that number will get magnetized in the opposite way to the ball, so it will go into any other slot, just not the one with the bet.

They've been doing it for at least a 100 years. In very old casinos the tables had a button that turned a big magnet on to make the ball jump up. The dealer controlled the button and it allowed him to make the ball spin a bit more if it was already falling into a slot where the bet was.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TavAtAr9gIU
Here's a rigged table from 1920 where they use coils to operate a pin that pushed a ball into a given side of the wheel. It wouldn't allow you to control the colors but was used to make the ball avoid the numbers where the biggest bets were.
957  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Could this be the reason why Satoshi never made himself known to the public? on: April 19, 2023, 07:34:30 PM
Somehow no one considers the possibility that Satoshi could have just died, e.g. from a disease (let's say a coronavirus). So he might not have had time to reveal himself publicly, if he wanted to do so at all.

We do. It was in fact one of the theories that I thought to be very good, as not long after he disappeared there was a series of Tsunamis in Indonesia, Thailand and Japan. A lot of people died and their bodies were never recovered. If Satoshi lived in these areas, or went there for vacation, he might've died.
I feel like the choice to go into hiding at first was his own, but so many things can happen in 10 years, it's hard to say if he's alive at this point.
958  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Starship about to take flight! on: April 18, 2023, 07:52:33 PM
Not the first and not the last delayed Spacex flight. I think I watched one a couple months ago where they've already placed astronauts in there, started counting, fueling the engines and shut it down because of not having enough fuel or too much fuel I don't remember. I love that he resurrected the mostly dead US space program. Rocket launches was what we used to all watch in the 80s and 90s and then it stopped, mostly due to the shuttle program being discontinued.
959  Economy / Speculation / Re: Good time to invest in BTC? on: April 18, 2023, 07:40:54 PM
Those individuals saying Bitcoin will dip to 12-16k aren't investors instead they're speculators just giving their opinions which the market might follow or not. Investors are always about the positivity of the market and always discussing how the market will increase in the future but speculators are always doubtful and looking for lower buy opportunity to sell in the near future.

Bitcoin is likely to pump to $40k then dump to those price ranges, we are gaining more bullish sentiment in the market. The market has just retest $30k price and now trading above it. If we can stay that way for this week then the next week, Bitcoin will try to break pass $35k price.

I've seen one prediction today by some guy named Harry Dent who said he sees bitcoin at $3k. Turns out he's trying to peddle his book on the economic crash and giving extreme predictions makes him more popular. Yesterday I haven't heard about him, today, I googled his name, and this is going to work well for him. I bet he's sitting there checking google trends with his publisher.

Another interesting piece is by Mike McGlone, who a few months ago was bullish on bitcoin and bearish on the US dollar and stocks. He claimed that extreme tightening will crash stocks and pump bitcoin.
Now he thinks everything will crash, including bitcoin, and that we should buy gold.
I'm pretty sure somebody is paying these guys to make their predictions. They get 50k from some gold bug and change their stance by 180 degrees.
960  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Most important place on earth. Where? on: April 18, 2023, 07:21:35 PM
I think the Amazon was chosen because of a very high number of species living in that area. It's called one of the most biodiverse place on Earth, so losing that area would make enormous impact on our ecosystem.
Can we really call one place the most important and another not important? I don't think so, because the coral reef is also diverse and produces a lot of oxygen, in fact the most oxygen is produced under water. I think that what areas are important is up for discussion. We probably wouldn't exist if any of them got nuked.
