941  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Really! Where is the fun at? on: August 07, 2018, 02:03:01 PM
Online gambling does have a different sensation than traditional gambling, where when we gamble traditionally we can see each other's expressions and can cheer on one another if we experience victory. but online gambling can also be fun if we play together with our friends on the same and adjacent sites or arrange schedules to play together in different places

I like real life casinos but I also enjoy online gambling.  Sometimes I just don't feel like being very social or I don't want to get dressed up.  It's quite relaxing to place bets in your sweatpants and have no casino rules at your own house:)

We often take for granted how much easier the Internet makes our daily lives.  At this point it would be difficult to live without the internet.
942  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bill Gates and Warren Buffet are the newest critics of Bitcoin. (From CNBC News) on: August 07, 2018, 01:53:54 PM
Warren Buffet has already said he doesn't invest in things he doesn't understand.  He passed up on the tech companies in the 90s and early 2000s.  Buffet simply doesn't understand bitcoin and does not see the true value in cryptocurrency.

It's also possible that he has a malicious intent to discredit bitcoin and try to spread FUD because he is too invested in the modern banking system.

944  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Are online gambling games fixed? on: August 05, 2018, 11:56:34 PM
Just stick with reputable sites that have a long history of fair gaming.   You can find information and reviews right here on the Bitcointalk Forums. New Gambling sites may be questionable so it's best to only gamble with a small amount at first to test out their casino.

946  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Which tools are best for cryptocurrency trading? on: August 03, 2018, 08:00:56 PM
I think you should combine 3 things. TA, news, general stock market conditions.

Actually if you're using a paid version of Tradingview than you kinda get all these combined on the interface. Also TA tools can be enhanced by strategies and predictions constantly posted by other traders. Most of them are pretty reliable no FUD is allowed there. Try it out for sure. At least the free version. Use moving averages, Bollingers and RSI for short-term TA.
This is good advice, but also pick up on the communities opinion and go a little against it, everyone was expecting a dip after $10,000, it then went to almost double extremely quickly. People are expecting a bull run, be a bit bearish, when full stress is in and panic expect bulls to come breaking in.

The crypto market is very unpredictable.  I doubt many of us thought bitcoin would actually reach 20k last year.  It almost seems like a dream that it actually went that high.  One of the most important rules I live by is to sell off in portions, you never want to sell your full amount of coins and try to buy back in cheaper.  There's a good chance the price will keep rising so it pays off to hedge your bets.
947  Other / Archival / Re: Do i need a license if i want to create a crypto gambling site? on: August 03, 2018, 07:14:55 PM
You will want to get a license if you are aiming to build a large website with a lot of traffic.  A few countries have very loose gambling laws but they are starting to crack down on crypto gambling and bringing on more strict regulations.  Be aware that this field is highly competitive and you may struggle to attract players for a very long time, so be prepared to operate at a loss.
948  Economy / Economics / Re: Bitcoin Prices Are Falling Again. The Cause? on: August 03, 2018, 05:05:47 PM
To put it simply: Supply is outweighing demand.  Bitcoin has an inflation rate right now of 3% right now which is still very high.  There are not enough buyers to pump up the price right now.  Wait until the next block halving if you really want to see prices soar to the sky.

Mt gox still has a lot of coins to sell off so it may take a few years to reach the 20k mark again.

950  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Are you addicted to trading? This is for you on: August 02, 2018, 12:18:37 PM
Most people have some sort of addiction, whether it's junk food, sex, video games, crypto, etc, I wouldn't consider it a problem unless it is drastically affecting their health or financial status.  We only have one life to live, so I don't see a problem spending your time doing what you enjoy.  I've dialed my crypto life back a bit as well because it was starting to take a toll on my health.  Now I try to do everything in balance.
951  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: What are some of the best movies based on gambling? on: August 02, 2018, 11:55:18 AM
I think Casino is a great movie.  It doesn't focus too much on the gambling itself but how Vegas used to be run by mobsters and they would participate in shady activities.  Robert DeNiro really makes this film stand out with his acting.

Other honorable mentions would be the Ocean's trilogy and Rounders.  My favorite Ocean's movie is 13, you can't go wrong with Al Pacino and the mission they pull off is much larger than the first two movies.
952  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: national cryptocurrency: how far are we from seeing a country mainly rely on one on: August 02, 2018, 11:40:35 AM
I don't think we will see a national cryptocurrency.  Government money works on fractional lending and endless amounts of debt.  With cryptocurrency you can't loan money you dont have.  Fiat is the only way these governments can print and loan endless amounts of money.
953  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: 1080Ti Specific - Best mining option on: July 29, 2018, 08:07:28 AM
Profits look to be extremely low right now.  Not profitable at all with the current cards.  Sucks.
Now it`s normal. 1080ti is a really powerful GPU but if you count with price/profitability - 1060(3) much better then 1080ti. If you have enough free space of course.

I guess it would be a faster ROI because of the price of 1060 TI's but like you said, you'd need a hell of a lot of room to set up 24 1060's and that power draw would be a beast.

It's not only that, you must also calculate expense that rise with additional cables, risers, PSUs, mbo and all stuff you need if you cannot hookup all cards to one rig, and you usually cannot.
ROI cannot be calculated just from GPU perspective because it gives you false results.

Lol. You just calculating one-off costs. As for me - 1 rig 1060 costs 1.7k$. GPU costs 1.4k$. This is 82% of full price. Yet, with 1080ti rigs you have to buy really powerful PSU, that costs much more then little PSU for 1060 rig. Last my PSU were 1.5KWt PSU for server usage. It costs about 400$ and for full 1080ti rig i need 2 such PSU. For 1060 rig PSU costs about 120-150$.

You can chain several smaller PSUs if ya really wanted..

It depends. Go check your local craigslist. I have a perfectly working 1200w PSU for sale for just 125 euros.
954  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Another Scam site is up Beware on: July 26, 2018, 02:23:08 PM
According to their WHOIS info they are hosted by Qhoster.com
Qhoster.com has a snail mail address in Uruguay.

What kind of decent company would buy webhosting/colocation from a hosting service _based_ in Uruguay?

956  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: ☑☑☑[ANN][BSD] BitSend -The first Segwit Masternodecoin on: July 23, 2018, 07:10:17 PM
I have not checked my wallet, but if the dev has sent it then he will announce it here along with the airdrop stats. No need to worry, there might be an unexpected delay as well. Some time they send it earlier than the airdrop day so it is reasonable if there is a delay. It is still Monday as well, so lets wait and be more patient.

Yeah I figured it might be a delay. I know the dev works hard. Too bad some people don't respect that. Smiley

Always makes my day. Smiley

be more active and make public announcements/whitepaper/partnerships/marketing

That's our job too. Why do you think we get the airdrop?

What's keeping you to post about BitSend on forums, social media, ...?
Make a website, promote it.. Do whatever you can. I'm sure the devs work hard and do what they can too..
