Nicely done. Two things: What about an updated diff retargeting system to prevent the current situation of multipool diff raping? You also forgot to mention Kitteh/MEOW is being traded on www.coinedup.comWe feel the 1hr retarget is really the best way to deal with this. A longer retarget would lead to the diff being artificially inflated after a drive-by. The 1hr retarget helps to calm the water very quickly after a drive by. Internally we discussed increasing to 4hrs, but did not for the reasons mentioned. Added, Poloniex just added us and didn't even let us know, its all good though! |

KittehCoin was originally launched on Christmas Eve Day, December 24, 2013. It was a GREAT coin, but it needed some work. The rewards system was broken. It was listed on an exchange a little prematurely, before the community was really ready for it. Coins on exchanges are perfectly safe. As long as they backup their wallet data (which should be done during any upgrade) they can run the new wallet right on top of the old one. There is no need to pull coins from anywhere. I have coins on CoinedUp and I'm not moving them, there is no need to.
Also many of the major pools have already upgraded, they can vouch for how easy the upgrade is.

As promised despite selling out a while back, I re-bought 5000 MEOW and went on a tipping spree on reddit. So far 3500 MEOW have been collected by people who I am sure have never heard of kittehcoin before, and several of whom I know to be big tipbot users themselves (in Bitcoin) so they are likely to re-tip. The remaining 1500 are pending, probably by people who dont use reddit every day or are not yet able to figure out how to redeem the kittehcoin, or have no clue in general  About half a dozen people asked me for more info or followed up with a comment in other ways. Most tips were an average of 200, if you tip 50 or 100 that's nice and all but it's such a small amount that very few people will bother to figure out how to redeem. I tipped about 1/3 in dogecoin subreddit, and that one got the most consistent response and redemption pattern (not surprisingly) People sitting on millions of MEOW or more, if I can do this holding -zero- MEOW, you can sure do it too. If you want your investment to be worth anything significant you should strongly consider it tipping at least 5000 MEOW total, and honestly since you got in so cheap you should do 10x more than that if you honestly want it to have an impact. OMG! I just figured it all out.. It's all a hoax! Dano setup this pool and promoted it so he could steal a few million kitteh, then spent all this time promoting a false relaunch so he could pump up the price and sell his stolen meow! I bet he owns all of the dev's bitcointalk accounts too, and logs into IRC with multiple clients running multiple instances of TOR! It all makes sense now - and even better:  DAMN! You've foiled my plan! How did you know?!  On another note that ancient aliens guy is a trip MEOW TO THE MOON BABY! |

Basically, the one with the wallet could do a simple (even offline) installation, put up the MPOS and send coins out to people, in 1h work time.
yeah, if we could get access to the database. Which we can't yet. See the previous post. I was helping Lonestar108 move the server. We moved the wallet but the server access was cutoff by the hosting provider before we could dump the DB. We (he) is still trying to dump the DB. Without the DB, he cannot pay people what they are owed. Its not "so simple" you see. No one is stealing anyone's coins. Quite the opposite actually but I'm sure Lonestar108 will be happy to see how you all are treating him in his attempts to save your coins. |

People on IRC are saying that the lead dev for kitteh, danosphere... Shut his pool down a week ago and isn't giving people their coins...... Makes me a bit skeptical about this coin. Is this true?
LIES. Get the story straight.Kittehcoinpool.com is owned by Lonestar108 (user on these forums). As we prepped to relaunch, ALL of the KittehCoin pools were attacked by DDoS. His hosting provider shut him out because of the attacks. I was WORKING WITH HIM TO RESTORE THE POOL. WORK ON THE WALLET UPGRADE TOOK PRECEDENCE. I do not control that pool or that server its on. I was trying to HELP HIM move it to a more stable box and get it back up and running but that was tabled. If you want to know what is up with kittehcoinpool.com ASK HIM. I am really offended   that there are insinuations I'd be doing anything underhanded like this; I've been above-board this ENTIRE TIME. How much more do I need to do to prove this team is honest? We apologize for the delay in this announcement but we wanted to be confident the hard-fork would be stable and existing coins would be safe. That being said test are complete and the relaunch is right on schedule. We will try out hardest to get listed on Cryptsy and other exchanges as soon as possible after relaunch, however, the exchanges pretty much do what they want, so there's no guarantee we'll be listed right away. We have spoken with a few already and received positive feedback so far Are you one of the devs? In the main site there should also be a directory of all sites and services I am the lead dev, the main site (Relaunch) will have all of that info like any solid coin should have (and will be updated as we are added other places, etc). |

We are working hard as shit on this coin. Sorry I haven't posted much, been working on this coin solid all week after work (see github + branches). Really trying to get this buttoned up. Will post more info as soon as I can, have faith my kittehs the entire team is working very hard to make this relaunch a success. Remember we are relaunching AND hard-forking AND upgrading the client code all at the same time, this will mean good things for kittehcoin long term and I hope people recognize the commitment this team is making to see this coin grow. Why is everyone so confident that the relaunch will make Meow explode?
Sure, the supply would be cut in half which should double the value of coins, but only theoretically. Only if we get more people interested in it. So theoretically they value should go up but that depends a lot on other factors outside of the relaunch.
Because the relaunch also includes a host of services, information, websites, and vendors that will accept MEOW and allow people to pay with MEOW. Rather than letting these trickle out we are doing them as one solid relaunch. Also we'll have all the other core services real coins need like a block explorer, a legit website, etc. We'll also share some of the KittehCoin roadmap on relaunch which speaks to the new features we'll adding the coin. Many of which are entirely unique to scrypt coins. We'll be getting listed on CoinWarz and CryptoCoinDir and will be pushing to get listed on Cryptsy and Coinex.pw after relaunch and those are just the things I can think of off the top of my head |
